Review 2024 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This time I tried the lunch buffet and it was very good with several options. Review 2023⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A very good Indian restaurant located in the center of Lausanne. Discovered the restaurant on the fork (theFork) with a 50% offer, we really didn't regret it. It is just not possible to take the menus with this offer but there are many interesting dishes (30.- on average) to choose from. I had the Chicken Tikka Massala and it was very good. Service and efficient and friendly. One of the most beautiful Indian restaurant decors in Lausanne.

Delicious and warm cuisine! At lunchtime, the buffet is perfect for discovering new flavors. There is a new menu every day. And in the evening, à la carte, it's always a pleasure. I recommend.

Very nice food, friendly owner, good ambience. Went with a few friends, the hospitality was really good. The owner let us in even if we were late in the night. Would highly recommend and will visit again!

Deplorable! To begin with we are forced to have a drink (of course the water is not free), then there is not much choice of dish unlike many other all-you-can-eat Indian restaurants where there are several choices, for all tastes with dessert included unlike this restaurant. Finally, to top it off, when paying, the manager blames us for not having finished our plates (my 4 year old's plate), he loses his temper and tells us that we have to add a financial supplement .... very disagreeable ! He adds that as a Muslim it is Haram to leave food on the plates (there wasn't much left either), which made me laugh softly when we see the array of alcohol he sells behind his bar and that he didn't seem very sober to me. For a restaurant that calls itself halal, it's shameful! Don't stop there, there are other much better restaurants nearby.

Best Indiane Restaurant in Lausanne

The food is delicious, nothing to say. On the other hand, the prices are excessive. I took Gambas madras for 33frs and it is served without rice. It was just a small portion of sauce with 5 prawns swimming in it.

The dishes I had (the palak paneer and the naans) didn't really win me over, which is a shame... On the other hand, the staff was very nice and friendly, the service was quick and the interior of the restaurant is pretty.

We discovered this restaurant with the gourmet passport and it was a great success. The setting is just magnificent, you feel directly transported to vacation. The welcome was very warm. 4 of us went to eat on Wednesday 12/27/2023. A great discovery, excellent cuisine, very pretty decor and super friendly staff. We had samosa starter, garlic naan, chicken curry, chicken tyka masala and coconut chicken. All the dishes were delicious and the value for money was more than adequate. I will definitely go back

We booked for around ten people. Once arrived, communication is difficult and the payment procedure is catastrophic under the pretext that everyone cannot pay their share. Disparaging remarks about our behavior because some want to pay cash and others by cards. Before leaving for a long trip, one of the guests goes to fill her water bottle in the toilet and it becomes a problem. The food is good but I advise you to take away, the meal will be more pleasant for you.

During our recent visit to Bollywood Restaurant, we were transported on a true culinary journey. Right from the start, the samosas impressed us with their authentic taste and freshness. The servers are unfriendly and lack hospitality and a smile. Raw fries in the middle of the dish in chicken sauce. A 500ml carafe of water more expensive than an espresso. Expensive for us French but probably adapted to Swiss salaries. Fortunately we took advantage of the -50% by TheFork.

Excellent cuisine! The sauces are light, the dishes are successful and the level of cooking is high, as are the à la carte prices. I recommend this restaurant but in my opinion the room service needs to be reviewed (not professional, no smile, very non-chalent attitude, it's borderline), otherwise, nothing to say. Well located restaurant, good food but excessive prices. We still had fun.

I discovered this restaurant thanks to the PG. The room is very nicely decorated. We ate well but the price remains too high compared to the quality/quantity. We may return for the buffet which seems to us to be much better value for money. 🌞🌞🌞

No sign indicating that we must have drinks, refuses us the buffet. Server not understandable even if we are not thirsty we have to have a drink, ultimately buffet for 25.- rather than 20 as advertised, false advertising.

Coming from Singapore, I hugely missed Asian food. Happen to chance upon Bollywood Bar Restaurant and decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed! Food was authentic and owner was super friendly. Highly recommended to anyone who craves on Indian food when in Lausanne!

Really love the food and especially owner's attitude. He offered 20% discount on all items though we never asked for that. Probably, their food tastes among the best you'll find in Europe. Also, it's halal.

We went there after reading several positive reviews. We were disappointed with the food. Naans are anything but traditional oven-made naans. The rice seemed too watery and was not fragrant, the sauce dishes had little taste or at least did not have the taste of real Indian cuisine. Good mention to the pakoras though. In short, extremely average.

I passed by by chance and the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet amazed me. Little choice compared to other buffets but really enough to taste a little of everything, an explosion of flavors, the dishes are well cooked, tasty chicken and not dry. Calm atmosphere and welcoming staff. I recommend and would return, the dishes change every day. Too bad the nan is extra at 4fr.

Very unpleasant and even inhumane staff. We are students who wanted to share several dishes and the man forced us to each take a dish or nothing. We are outraged. Another time we wanted to get takeaway and he made us pay for the boxes. They have no consideration for their customers.

Well eaten in a nice, very “Bolywood” decor

Too expensive, unpleasant staff, size of microscopic plates for 30.- minimum. It is difficult to communicate with the staff. They charged more than what we ordered because we were shocked at the size of the rice or chicken 9 pieces of chicken for 30.-.

The entrance is not really welcoming, you have to know the place to find it, it is rather poorly signposted although it is in the city center. We had a reservation, but the owner couldn't find us, so we had to wait a long time. Once seated, there were 2 of us on the largest table, while there were plenty of other tables for 2 people or free sofas… The food is okay, nothing extraordinary, however, it was quite spicy. The young waitress was friendly. The prices are rather high for the value for money.

Enjoyed the dinner so much!!! Had simple quick dinner, would like to try other dishes as well next time. Wish there was a background music, but still would come back!!

I'm going to give it the average because I can't really decide on this restaurant, there are some good things and then others that don't appeal to me on a personal level. In the positive we will have: - a significant reduction via the Fork (40% on main course excluding drinks) - the food is good - the quantities are appreciable In the worst case: - A village bistro aspect upon entering with the slot machine and lottery side (it's personal but it prevents me from entering into an oriental atmosphere at the moment) - Quality of service to improve in my opinion, a certain lack of professionalism on my table as on that of the neighbors (forgotten order, some of the drinks served after the dishes, presentation of the dishes could be improved) - Impossible to ask for a carafe of water (although not obligatory in Switzerland), most restaurants have it... Which forces you to order a bottle of water, in addition to the ecological aspect (which personally bothers me) , the bottle costs 9.5CHF, which makes a liter of water more expensive than a large beer... In the end, pros and cons, I'll let you draw your own conclusions, trying to be as objective as possible.

Really disappointed with our first order! 2 dishes ordered, they made a mistake on a dish which was suddenly spicy... the poor quality packaging caused all the sauce to leak into the bag. I still called back to inform them that the order was wrong, I was told: we have people, we'll call you back later this evening... it's been several days and still no news 🥲customer service is not clearly a priority at this restaurant! Too bad because the food wasn't that bad...

Very disappointed and very expensive. The menu through The Fork has 50% off is clearly double the price so they can give the discount they promise. A sausage, three pieces of lamb and a bowl of rice or a naan for two people, a mini dessert for 80.—I call that a steal. There was also an error when ordering, resulting in a two-step and very long service. I strongly advise against this establishment.

We found the place online randomly looking for an Indian restaurant because we had a craving for Indian dinner. The food was very tasty! I particularly liked the chicken korma and the garlic naan. I understand that the gentleman that greeted us is the owner - he was polite and welcoming. My only comment would be that even with the 20% discount they had the food is a bit on the pricier side (as for a takeaway) but it is worth it. We will be back 😊

They cancelled my order twice via uber eats. Both time claiming they dont know what happened. The first time the delivery guy was already on route even. Very rude on the phone, leaving waitimg and speaking in the background and putting all wrongs on the application. I have waiting 1h30 already and no food to come. To avoid and be banned from uber eats ! Reclamation ongoing

The food was good, except the lentils. I guess they had an accident, it tasted (and smelled) like they really burned it. Couldn't eat it. Since the rest of the order was really good, I'm giving 3 stars. Not sure what would have happened in the restaurant, but Uber Eats didn't want to accept the complaint, so we just threw it away.

The meal was excellent! A pleasure as usual to go there! Take the butterchicken, a real treat!! The staff is great and very respectful! I can only recommend this restaurant. Looking forward to returning there soon.

Perfect welcome from the boss, magnificent and warm decor. We discovered the excellent Indian white and rosé wines, a great discovery! The meal was delicious and well served. I really recommend this restaurant, thank you to the owner for his great kindness.

Excellent all-you-can-eat lunch buffet with choice of 2 meat dishes, 1 fish dish and also choice for vegetarians (yay so rare!) with generally 1 legume dish, 1 vegetable dish and 1 other (doughnuts, soup) and two choices of rice: ) (8 dishes in total). It’s 20chf + 1 obligatory drink!!! so basically it comes to between 24 and 25 chf without alcohol. The dishes are spicy sometimes spicy sometimes not in any case they have taste 😊

Food that is bland and appears to be reheated. Despite the boss's assurances (?), I believe that my dish was not freshly cooked. By the way, reheating spinach can lead to food poisoning. Rice meh. The à la carte dishes are really not cheap (24 francs for vegetarian dishes, approx. 30 francs for meat dishes, 10fr. for garlic rice, etc.) but the restaurant offers a 20% reduction on reservations, I don't really understand this logic. Nice decor, OK service.

•A BOLT IN FOOD •NO RESPONSE FROM THE RESTAURANT We knew your restaurant because we had already eaten there once and everything went well. However this last time my husband ordered a dish via Uber eats. He was starting one of your dishes when he almost choked on an object in your dish: A BOLT !!! Fortunately for him it was not more serious but it could have ended very badly! Besides, what's a bolt doing in one of your dishes? Allow me to question the hygiene of your establishment. I tried to contact you by email to let you know about the incident and received NO RESPONSE. I absolutely do not recommend. You should rename the establishment BOULONWOOD!
