Hello I discovered this place late but it was nice

I love this place, I love the staff, they are so energetic, and always helpful. The place can be crowded from Thursday evening but this is quiet normal because they are really good. if you go there dont miss to go to Studiob also. Lastly, special thanks to Kevin for being really friendly and we have good communication from the first day. Maison Balkii Team, lucky to have you in Geneva.

Well atmosphere is “festive” great to have drinks and go clubbing downstairs …. however staff is not particularly friendly, they know their bar is successful and treat you like you are just here to pay and that’s it. It is quite packed on weekends and you cannot even sit, so not that comfortable to have drinks even if you are at a table, it is so packed someone bumps into you every now and then

It's a bit of a meeting place for the Geneva pouffes but the cocktails are really excellent, 2nd negative point the music is too loud so it creates a monster noise and we can barely hear each other speak.

Those who know me well, know that Maison Balkii is one of my favorite places in Geneva! I love the vibe, the cocktails, the people and the underground club Studio b! Definitely a go to bar!!

Rude bouncer at the entrance with a strong southern French accent, to be avoided at all costs…

Not bad in the evening to go out, there is the club in the basement. On the other hand, in the basement the bar can only be paid by Carte.

Even though I live in the neighborhood and have visited the place a few times we before, my friend and myself got refused a seat because I looked too much like gym. I had an armless shirt but anyway. I don’t know where the dresscode comes from - it’s not specified - because it is a -quite decent - corner bar. Some of the staff take Themselves too seriously. Please spend your money elsewhere.

The worst place you can go. The bouncers are boyind stupid. They will not lwt you come back in after a smoke, to take your jacket ir pay the bill. Please avoid

Fast service and very friendly waiters. Population in the 30-40s. Music from the 2000s. Very nice moment!

Very rude bouncers. There is no phone number on the official website so you can't reserve and when arrived in the evening the bouncers telling you to come in the day time to reserve first. Crazy rude bouncers and behavior.

Great welcome to the Balkii house! Warm place where you feel at home. The cocktails are great and the servers are pleasant, smiling and available. We arrived with 6 people on a Saturday evening, without reservation, but with a little patience, the team was able to find us a table. We had a very pleasant evening.

Nice and lively place. The servers are super cool and very friendly. the Bodyguards at the entrance, not very professional, not classy at all!

The waiters are very arrogant, poorly educated and give off not quite fresh smells! The additions are wrong and when you ask for the details, you are attacked, almost as if I was pushed by taking the addition out of my hands because I replied: don't speak to me in that tone. The place that represents Switzerland very poorly! It's shame! Absolutely avoid!!!

Bar with nice decor but few seats. Good selection of cocktails including original homemade ones (like syrups etc. Which are an integral part of their cocktails). Separate bar/club in basement with bouncer. Unfortunately the music quickly becomes very loud, to the point where we can no longer hear each other and the selection of snacks is lousy.

The worst bar in Geneva! lousy and racist service

Racist, they made a comment “only French is spoken here”! Geneva the international city and another foreigner says that! And what's more, we talk to each other! Honestly the worst experience I had in Geneva. Extremely expensive and not worth it, the service is bad and the atmosphere is not great!

The customer service is horrible. It was said that it was a place where “we spoke French” (we spoke Spanish) They didn’t let my girlfriend’s brother in because “he had sneakers” when everyone else did… Question of racism? It's up to you to think about it. I find it too unfortunate around a city as international as Geneva... simply not up to the task

Refusal to enter the bar because we were 3 men even though the bar was half empty. We went to the bar next door which was much more welcoming and much larger.

The bouncers are very rude and refuse entry for no apparent reason, seems they enjoy their position of power a bit too much. Bartenders are kind but very slow.

Bar great - bouncer for the lower area unfortunately ruins everything (50:50 split men:women).. apparently still good enough for the place to be full 😅

discrimination against me on Thursday evening of September 8, 2022 in your establishment Dear Sir, With friends, we received an invitation to go to your establishment. My friends, around 9 p.m., were already inside when I arrived at the door of House Balkii. A doorman, quite arrogant, and although I showed the invitation, refused me entry and demanded that I call my friend to come and meet me. I told her that she probably won't hear the calls because of the noise. Something which was verified, since she did not respond. The staff started calling me derogatory remarks and wouldn't let me in. When my friends left Maison Balki, I told them of my exclusion and when they spoke to the doorman, he did not want to change his mind and remained in his position. At the age of 47, I have never felt such rejection, such contempt, such discrimination... I felt very bad, I felt immense anxiety and an unprecedented feeling of rejection. Discrimination in all its forms is unacceptable in an international city like Geneva. This is why I demand a written apology. If I do not receive an apology I will file a complaint with the police for moral discrimination. I hope you realize the harm. free - which was made to me that evening and I at least hope that I will soon receive a written apology. Please accept, Dear Sir, my distinguished greetings. Rude and unfriendly staff. For that alone I won't go back and advise against going there. The cocktails are not good, poorly measured! The box is small and very quickly overcrowded. The DJ is excellent though.

Lots of cinema for not much…. Team to be reviewed, maybe a new owner could save the business….

a trendy place with very good cocktails. It's a shame that the service is not up to par with the place, in fact, the bouncers as well as the staff on the lower floor are particularly arrogant and aggressive, which doesn't particularly make you want to return there.

Bar overcrowded for no reason. Particularly when we notice the staff (in particular Dimitri and the bartenders on the lower floor) pretentious, aggressive, without courtesy and insulting the customers, even after having dropped more than 500 francs in addition. One might really wonder what makes this establishment so successful. Place to avoid if you want to have a nice relaxing evening

It’s a shame when the hard work of an entire team is ruined by a single bad apple, in this case a bouncer in charge of letting people (or not) into the downstairs area. One of the cornerstones of this industry is hospitality, making people feel welcomed. An establishment in a place such as Geneva should understand this and if you can’t do that well, perhaps it’s time to rethink why you opened up the business in the first place. As guests we come in to spend money, enjoy ourselves in a respectful manner. But, when the door is shut in front of you and no reason given, it’s unacceptable. I simply wanted to transition from one area to the next, it was pretty early, congestion wasn’t an issue. When I asked “alright, can’t get in, what’s the issue?” And I received the reply “I don’t need to tell you why, goodnight” it’s just a bad look guys. I’ll let you off the hook with 3 stars for the sake of the rest of the team, but I also happen to live right next door and I’ll happily avoid this place going forward. Not the kind of vibe anyone wants or expects when they go out to have fun. Perhaps a staff training session is in order.

NULL bouncer lets in only the friends incapable of being sincere with the customers! Suffice it to say that if it's just friends (bouncers) wish.... Don't even try just to not give them satisfaction 👎

The place is really cool and cocktails are delicious. Lots of attention to detail in the design, the branding and the identity which i love. Try to get there early (or book) because you’ll be able to go to the club downstairs later without having to go through the insanely rude bouncers. Downstairs the music is generally house/electro/techno. The venue is tiny and gets really crowded but very cool vibe. Quite a young straight crowd though.

Bouncers are rude (to be polite) and do not fit the hype at all. And its supposed to be fancy and the place to be? They're uneducated, disrespectful and ready to fight for nothing. Where did you find them? In Gex or Anemasse France? I hope you change them quick. Its killing your reputation. They also don't look if you have the covid pass. This will be reported to the government :) Bad place. If I could give zero star I would.

An informal locker room where we have our coats stolen without it worrying the staff who seem used to it and who will not take long to remind us to leave the establishment as quickly as possible, even if it is 0 degrees and that we are in t-shirts for lack of coats...

A refined style bar with delicious cocktails and a sense of welcome. The arrangement of the tables and the layout of the interior space (in short, the setting) allow both pleasant socializing and a certain intimacy. My favorite bar on rue Henri-Blanvalet and the competition is tough. Although recent, Maison Balkii has quickly become an essential place for the “eaux-vivienne” nightlife.
