The day I visited, I didn't see a hint of a smile from the waitress. And I very much doubt that my orange juice was homemade🤔😤

It's a pleasant place to drink coffee and chat with friends. The waitresses are not very experienced but that doesn't matter. You cannot order at the table, you have to go to the bar and pick up your own tray like in the canteen. Finally, I don't recommend having pastries here, they are not tasty and they are way too expensive.

Quite expensive but overall good products

I find it very good, friendly waitresses, very good goods. Two points to see: Turn off twenty lights during the day (set an automatic twilight cell) And put a trolley so that customers can clear the trays from the tables in order to free them in order to relieve the girls who already have plenty to do at peak times.

Brilliant little cafe that is hidden away.Fantastic Sandwich which is fresh every day and very affordable for tourist.Close to tram and bus stops.The coffee is wonderfully made and very reasonably priced and spoke good English,very helpful for tourist.Definitely recommend

This Sunday 28.1. Rude waitress I wanted a bar of curdled chocolate or something and she showed me a homemade chocolate bar for 4.80. I tell him that I don't think my granddaughter would choose it and the waitress says to me with disdain "Well if your granddaughter prefers industrial to homemade!" Definitely 2 bad visits to your establishment, 2 delayed waitresses and two borderline but really limited receptions!!!!! I work in catering and if I welcomed my customers like this I could close!!!!!!! Wouldn't set foot there again

I love this bakery, excellent pastries but a little expensive 4 CHF for a hot chocolate and 2.50 CHF for a croissant, very pleasant waitresses, quite busy in the morning between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. I highly recommend!

Swarm of wasps in the bakery and on the sugar loaves... spilled cold... no service on the terrace so bring and return your tray yourself! Missing at least one person as staff so much too expensive for what it is!

Nice place ideal for breakfast and coffee with friends. The possibility of sitting inside the bar as well as on the summer terrace. A large selection of food and drinks, the emphasis is more on commercial products from the strip than on "handmade", the atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is friendly and professional. And if we take into account that it is Switzerland, the prices are slightly higher than usual.

Hello very good product but very slow and terrible service I was often served by a pretty brunette who made me wait 15 minutes with my diabetic patient while the bakery was empty of people the girl was at the back of the shop chatting on the phone and filed his nail Management should target the efficiency of an employee as well as the hygiene of the premises and employees instead of prioritizing the aesthetics of the waitresses!! Big pricey cake but perfect welcome

So today is our last day in Switzerland. My favorite breakfast/snack is two croissants and a cappuccino. As we traveled from Geneva to Zurich over a course of 8 days, I tried all sort of bakeries and cafes but what I got at Maison Desplanches, I could not find anywhere else. Best croissants (a right combination of crispness and softness) and very nice cappuccino (a good cappuccino should have a right balance of milk and froth - it should not be like Latte!). I highly recommend this place. Contrary to what I see on the other reviews, the staff was friendly and helpful. As Geneva was first day of our week long trip, Maison Desplances at Lancy set my expectations very high. But I did not see a match though I have tried many places in Zurich as well. May be I was hungry that day! :)

Prices are at the customer's discretion. The raspberry cake for 4-5 people is Fr. 28.- on the site and on site billed once Fr. 32.- and yesterday 38.50... I responded to the request from the marketing department but they never responded. Indeed. Inexplicable.

Bakery with choice, but I suspect that some products are not fresh daily like braids, croissants (I saw the same at the coop with cereals and fresher). The braid 5.10.- for not even enough for 2 people and a braid that is not soft, dry. I'm willing to pay that price if it's really good quality. Too expensive !!!!!!!!! 4.- the ham croissant is crazy. The waitresses are smiling but it's really assembly line. I don't recommend.

It was excellent place in 2003 to 2014. Recently it lost quality and services dramatically. I don't know reason behind. Butter products have been changed into vegetables oil.

I hadn't been back there for 2 or 3 years. It has become self-service but with table service prices. The tea room has been renovated and it is very pretty. The waitress is charming. I didn't taste the food, the coffee was good.

Unfriendly waitress - I ask for 1 coffee and 1 espresso - the waitress may put water in the coffee cup before making 2 espressos. I told him that I have never seen that - response (each company does its own thing). Really 👏👏 for sock water🤮

A good place for Too good to go

Too bad that since there was a new manager, she has eliminated all milk alternatives other than cow's milk. There is no more soy milk or lactose-free milk. It's 2021... I often came before when there was this option but now out of the question...

First and last time I go to this bakery. Slow and unfriendly service, 1.60 for a half-dry croissant which I suspect was from the day before. Low end for an artisan baker.

My husband came by this morning at 6:15 a.m. to buy croissants. Being used to buying croissants in this bakery, I was very surprised to see that we had been given croissants from the day before. And this without informing us. They were dry and decomposing. This is simply unacceptable. The next time this happens I would be happy to drop off the croissants to whom it may concern and denounce these dishonest practices.

Unfortunately no tables and no chairs on the terrace are disinfected after the passage of customers! Isn't this an obligation?

Good bakery everything for your snack

Nothing to say about the service, the two young people are great, smiling, pleasant and full of energy. On the other hand, pastries and sandwiches are another story. Dry praline croissant, the puff pastry is all tight, sagging and the hard dough looks like it was from the day before, plus the appearance is really not appetizing as it is overcooked, we really wonder why the recipe was changed from the old ones were well puffed, the flaky layers were airy, the praline was melting and they had a shiny appearance. Tuna sandwich: soft bread and not crispy. Preparing bland tuna.

The saleswoman is very, very kind and welcoming, I would come back with pleasure.

The staff are underpaid and overworked I think because the service here is outright rude. If you want to have a good time make sure to order to go or to order at the till as the waitress does not serve at the tables. There is too much food being wasted and not many paying customers. I imagine the ambiance is better during the summer or spring when one can look up at the sky sitting on the terrasse instead of piles of used coffee cups or stale donuts. It's generally quite silent so bring your reading or your laptop if you're looking for a place to study. There is broken stationary & a dwindling corner space for babies & toddlers. [Penalty. If you are after pastries, this place will meet your expectations, their croissants and sandwiches are tasty, also the coffee they serve is a quality one, staff are friendly and the place is cozy, also outside seating is available. There is a toilet inside and parking is so close to the bakery.

18 Chf for a Caesar salad and a bowl of fresh fruit uh... we can expect something decent. My salad was bad, the bread tasteless and the fruit questionable. Working in reception next door, finished, I will no longer recommend this address to anyone. TO RUN....
