Innovative Cuisine, But Pacing Needs Work Maison Manesse offers exciting and creative dishes. The food itself was delicious, with unique flavor combinations that pushed boundaries. However, the wine pairing wasn't quite to my taste, featuring more experimental selections compared to classic pairings. The service was friendly, but the pacing of the meal was a major drawback. The wait times between courses were excessively long. Our 6-course meal took a staggering 4.5 hours, which significantly disrupted the rhythm of the fine dining experience. Considering the long wait times that detracted from the flow of the evening, I'm hesitant to say Maison Manesse fully meets the standard of a 1-star Michelin establishment. Overall: If you're looking for adventurous food, Maison Manesse is worth considering. However, be aware of the potential for extended wait times and a more relaxed atmosphere compared to other fine dining options.

We received a very warm welcome. We were given a great table in the corner. Where we and our dogs felt very comfortable. We enjoyed the 4 course menu, these creations convinced us in every respect. You could feel the passion and creativity that they put into their dishes. This was rounded off with top service. This in a relaxed, casual, feel-good atmosphere. We felt completely comfortable and would love to come back.

Great experience. Relatively young crew working mostly towards vegetarian and plant based options with offering of fish and meat. We had "everything" 6 course tasting menu. There is pairing to my surprise not wine paring but alcohol and non alcoholic pairing. I had alcoholic pairing which included craft ale with pork dish. Absolutely stunning and I never expected beer to raste so good after 4 courses with wine. Menu includes many non alcoholic drink options. I don't remember when I felt better in the restaurant

If you are every lucky enough to have the opportunity to eat here, do it. The food and drinks are incredible! What really separated this restaurant from other Michelin Stars I've been too is the atmosphere and staff. The atmosphere is fun and creative with an amazing Playlist (so good my wife downloaded it). The staff joked with us a lot making the experience all the more fun! Onto of all that they gave us a sample bottle of there hit sauce which we then added to almost everything we ate afterwards; it was that good.

The atmosphere in this place is pleasant and the staff is nice. However, there is no wine list here and the staff doesn't ask what kind of wine/champagne they like. The choice of food is also very limited. Only game meat or salmon was offered. No other variant except vegi. The food was very creative, very well prepared and sometimes good. There were too many flavors in the plate and therefore no harmony. Sometimes they were too strong, sometimes too weak. It wasn't worth it.

Fun staff and amazing food: a recipe for an enjoyable evening. Also quite a bit o the cheaper side compared to other similar places. The place: quaint, inviting. Not too distracting with decoration, so you can focus on what matters: gastronomy. The food: exquisite. Ranging from herby, refreshing, to rich and comforting. I personally enjoyed all of the dishes they served, with some nice surprises like the soy yogurt served between main dishes, the red cabbage core, and my personal favorite, the noix gras (foie gras-like dish made with nuts and decorated with pumpkin flowers). The service: one of the nicest experiences we had in Michelin star places. Not serious or over-the-top, dishes were presented in a fun way, and staff was young, interacted with us quite nicely, and patiently waited while I translated dish descriptions to my mom, who only speaks Portuguese. We got some nice wine recommendations and the sommelier was remarkably knowledgeable and chatted with us about wines we had elsewhere. Lovely experience at Maison Manesse. The only remark I would have is service stretched for almost 4 hours, which would not really be a problem, except we were quite exhausted and started getting pretty sleepy at the end.

We’ve come here 4-5 times over the last years and this gem of a place just delivers in every way, every single time for us. First, a perfectly-laid back atmosphere that clashes in a welcoming way with many other Michelin star restaurants; a highly inventive menu with dishes bursting with flavor - yet never just ‘creative for the sake of being creative’; and an edgy wine pairing that nails it where others go for the safe bet to top it off. Raymond and the rest of the crew make you feel like you’re in their kitchen/living room - and that’s worth the… investment for us. Prep the vanilla-infused vokda for us, Yanis, we’ll be back soon! I had the 4 course meal and enjoyed it. Food was creative, somewhat playful and delicious. My favourite was the chicken dish - loved the balance between savory, sweet and acidic elements. The fish dish was also really good - perfectly cooked salmon w a well balanced slightly acidic sauce. The bread and chamomile butter (?) was good too, though unfortunately, the bread was slight burnt. Server said its because of the special Mother used, but it’s clearly slightly burnt. That said, though all well executed, nothing stood out in particular. Is it worth the Michelin star? May need to give it another try to decide. Probably borderline.

Spent a fabulous evening at Maison Manesse. Here creativity meets skill - in a pleasantly informal atmosphere, thanks to the top service. We had the 4-course menu and a non-alcoholic drink pairing. And with each course we were delighted by the finely tuned flavors that fit the season (+ one or two surprising greetings from the kitchen). Unfortunately we found it too loud in the restaurant, the service staff was extremely competent and friendly, but we usually only understood half of what was being said. We sat next to strangers or our table was 20 cm away. This means that a private conversation is hardly possible. The food was almost perfect, only the drinks served (without alcohol) were sometimes too sweet or sour for us and influenced the taste of the food too much. Would come again without accompanying drinks.

What a beautiful place. We found it from the Michelin guide and it was a stunning experience. The atmosphere, decor, service, food and cocktails did not disappoint. They have a large wine selection. The outdoor patio garden area is a dream. Plenty of vegan/vegetarian options for the set menu. We loved it. Pricey but worth it if you’re looking for a nice evening.

I came here recently with some friends and I was truly impressed by the knowledge of the service staff. One of my friends asked them about the sugar content in kombucha and the guy who served us was able to accurately explain everything about the fermantation process and why some sugar is necessary. They really seemed comfortable with their clientele as well as explaining their menu in English. We ordered the 6 course meat menu and the food was absolutely delicious. There was a bit too little meat in the menu and the food tasted a tad too "healthy" for my liking. There was a fantastic ambiance throughout the whole evening and I was happy to hear so much English from other tables.

food was very good, for me a little too much experiencing that to my taste was not always amazing (which I would expect from such a restaurant but this is very subjective). what bothered me was the wine sommelier who served us wine which was faulty (very strong nail polish remover) and after pointing it out he did not even bother to taste or smell the wine and just said it is ok. in my opinion this is a strong no go for several reasons and in this type of a restaurant this attitude should never happen. very disappointing. I did not care for the wine not having any appellation label but I did care for the attitude.

Mixed experience: 2/3 grownups liked the quality of the food and its partly exotic style; grandparents found most courses over-sophisticated, too many non-syntonic spices, too many sweetish elements. I am a college student traveling on a budget. It was a stupid financial decision to come here and one that I am still recovering from. Worth it though. This restaurant is absolutely miraculous. Delight and whimsy are emotions I’d associate with the food. To begin, the vibe was casual. It had an upscale barn-like vibe that made me feel like an animal in my pen. RUFF! ARPH! I started with a white mezcal Negroni. 18$ and phenomenal. Now the food. Instead of butter or olive oil, I was presented with an oil made from wild garlic and beeswax. It has the consistency of butter and an incredible flavor. The highlight dish was white asparagus with a pork intestine lining. Adventurous and delicious. These are also two adjectives many women (2) have used to describe me. The main dish was surprisingly completely vegetarian, which was a surprise that was both naughty and nice (Santa’s list is now just one category). Wine pairings were spot on. This spot deserves a second Michelin star. Price was a little high (about $200 usd for one person with drinks), but hey, it is zurich and I was balling that night.

Some colleagues/friends absolutely insisted on going for dinner here, and I absolutely did not want to go. But, being a relatively decent human being (when I'm in the mood to make the effort) I let them have their way (big babies!). To my utter astonishment, I fell in love with it; the food, the environment, the service. Now it's a favourite place where I bring others. Price-wise, I never know whether I'm paying too much for dining when I'm in Europe (exchange-rate n' such), so it's hard to say if it's a good deal. All I know is, it's been worth every penny at every visit. This is especially an excellent option for vegetarians.

If you want to experience a chic evening with an excellent, varied menu (meat/fish but also vegetarian/vegan possible), this is the right place for you. High prices but they are justified and okay for Zurich. Service is top, professional and charming. The only downside: This evening there was a mushroom in the final main course of the 6-course menu for CHF 165. In the fish/meat menu, after the fish in the previous course, I would have liked a meat main course and not a vegetarian course.

The four of us had a wonderful evening at Maison Manesse. A lot has already been written about this place. And the crucial question is, would we go there again? Our answer is: no. Why? We took the 6-course menu with drinks. About half of the courses were great. The other half didn't convince us. In particular, the main course was too small and we were all so hungry that we had to order extra cheese in between. In some cases there was too little sophistication. And we expected more from a restaurant with a Michelin star. It must also be said that we enjoy working in the upscale gastronomy sector and have corresponding expectations/comparison values. The team radiates a lot of power and commitment. Unfortunately, we were given incorrect advice at the beginning. We were told the drink pairing is a wine pairing. Not a single white wine was included! That doesn't work. It also had cider and sake in its program. You would have to describe in more detail in advance how the drinks are composed. The champagne was great. The sommelier is a nice guy. But he runs his program and doesn't respond to the guests' tastes. We also always had an empty glass. The four of us always found the drinks he chose to be mediocre. But that's a matter of taste. We liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. Simple and without chichi. It was easy to have a conversation and the temperature made it pleasant. Perhaps we could do some work on the employees' pronunciation. Something slower and clearer would be cool! Sometimes it happened so quickly that we only understood half of it. I wish you continued success! I think the concept is really great! And that’s why you received the green star.

The food however did not merit the price it’s charged. For four people the bill came to 1000chf, if it was cheaper maybe I’d give the experience four stars, but the value for money was not here at all. The tastes were interesting and gave food for thought (pun intended), but I just expected much more for the amounts being charged. Interestingly, the veggie and everything menus were very similar. I also found the dessert quite disappointing and didn’t finish it.

Located in Manessenplaz, it is a place where you can taste dishes for refined palates that I didn't have this honor given the time. But I was able to sip an excellent white wine, they kindly brought me a trio of cheeses to accompany my glass of wine. It's a place where I think it's a little expensive, but after all, quality and quality products are worth spending a little more. The staff very kind and professional. I highly recommend it.

Great culinary experience. Tasty and high quality food. The waiters are super nice and friendly. You have to be prepared to spend there at least three hours because the service is way too slow. Tiny portions and high prices, but there is no too many options like this one in Zurich. You can choose between “Maison experience” or “a la carte”. I would recommend at least four plates for person if you choose “a la carte”.

Wow or wow, I’ve eaten in many restaurants and this one was one of the worst in regards to michelen expectations. We picked 6 course meal - everything, but somehow almost every dish was vegetarian. Salmon was underwhelming and the main dish pork was totally plain. I didn’t come to a restaurant to eat tasteless food. Maybe it would be good for vegans but definitely not for people who enjoy meat. Pork was very bland, salmon lacked any flavor whatsoever. Dessert was mediocre at best - dehydrated pumpkin with pumpkin sorbet. Anyway, restaurant ambiance was nice, waiters were good but the whole time it took to eat 6 dishes was 3.5 hours! It was a torture.

I came here with my friend and treated her for her birthday. Beforehand, I told the restaurant all her allergies and things I don’t eat - they were extremely accommodating and could tailor the dishes for us. We had the four course menu with wine pairing and it was exceptional. Kitchen: Tasty, creative, special - great food! We waited 2h30 for 2 respectively 3 courses. To be fair it was a busy night for the staff. The real problem was the wine. The presentation was patronizing, cautionary and smug and the selection was very one-dimensional. When asking about a wine (from 🇵🇹, where we know the region very well) the „sommellier“ had no clue at all. This left the impression that the wine recommendation is just set and no real options exist.

We've been coming here for at least 4 years, on special occasions. It's always a great surprise: creative and always delicious (and succulent, dainty, ambrosios, ...). I highly recommend the wine pairing -- it's always felt spot on, and I learned about different types of fantastic wines. It is $$$ (as expected), but at least for us really worth it on occasion. I should also mention the staff is very friendly, the ambiance feels like home, despite the sophistication of the cuisine.

A perfect evening - for us. We really liked the look of the place, with the light wood everywhere, the brick walls and the little, hidden messages on the walls. We were greeted in a friendly manner - people use the same name here - which didn't bother us. The table was comfortable and the distance between the tables was appropriate. The volume in the restaurant (also because of the music) was on the loud side for such a place, but it didn't bother us at all and it fit in perfectly. The staff is super friendly and explains the ordering system. Requests, allergies, etc. are taken into account very well. We had the surprise menu and enjoyed every course. My highlight was the course with the beetroot and the “main course” with the cabbage. The Noix-Gras was equally outstanding. The wine pairing was super good and went perfectly. The wines are well explained and the bottles are left on the table for a moment so that you can find out a little more information. I found the price for the menu to be reasonable. What you could perhaps do is to adjust the prices for the vegetarian or meat menu. The meat menu had 2 courses with meat or fish. I think that the vegetarian or vegan versions are more difficult to prepare. So you could adjust the prices here. All in all, a great evening and the Maison Manesse has catapulted itself high into our top list.

At Maison Manesse you can really enjoy yourself, whether with meat/fish, vegetarian or even vegan! We decided on all three diet variants as a Maison Manesse Experience (each a 4-course dinner). A highlight was definitely the vegan Noix Gras (vegan foie gras) with brioche toast that was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside as a starter: really buttery on the palate and confusingly similar to real foie gras!!! The quality and culinary creativity of Maison Maness impressed us all and definitely justifies the prices.

We were pleasantly surprised from the first moment in the restaurant "Maison Manesse" and we immediately felt very comfortable in this casual but beautifully designed atmosphere. The service staff, who live up to this name, gave us a warm welcome and impressed us throughout the evening with their hospitality, politeness and competence. We decided on one 4-course and one 6-course menu from the “everything” menu. The menu impressed us on all levels: visual impression, quantity and taste. The kitchen surprised us from course to course with exquisite, fresh ingredients as well as intelligent and creative compositions that we enjoyed extremely well. The extensive, but very well selected, wine list satisfied our wishes, as did the recommended champagne, which we were able to enjoy with the aperitif. We will be visiting this gourmet restaurant again very soon and with great pleasure!

This used to be my favorite restaurant in Zürich so I’m really sad to write that my dinner there a couple of weeks back left me very disappointed. All dishes were beautifully presented but most of them either lacked flavor, texture and especially that element of fun & excitement that they are known for. The food wasn’t by any means bad, it just didn’t live up to their previous standard. Some dishes sounded really complex and intriguing when presented but were very disappointing, poorly constructed and combined in taste. Even the home made bubbly fell flat. To be honest I felt a little ripped off considering this place falls on the expensive side and rightfully so when the dishes deliver. The palate cleanser however did not fail to impress. It was the highlight of the meal. What happened? Can someone please bring back the flavor 🙏🏼.

Local ingredients - blackberries, celery root, various beets and radishes, wild herbs, currants, Swiss Seibling (fish called Char in English), gooseberries, cured pork. But! They have the possibility to do the entire tasting menu regular, vegetarian or vegan. The stars of the show for me were: a wild broccoli rolled in beef dish with endless layers and a beautiful forest of root vegetables and garnishes on top; 'Noix-Gras' a nut and mushroom based take on Foie-Gras which took a really long time to eat due to huge floors in tiny bites and endless levels with beets, beet reduction, and gooseberry sauce (should be a flagship dish); A main course (meatless) spin on a fish and chips stick but of celery root, with a tartar-like sauce with egg BUT set on top of cabbage and a serious jous (dark sauce reduction) that is confusing at first but a delicious three way fusion of totally different things; Goat milk dessert with camomile sorbet, goat yogurt, white currant, blackberry, pine sprouts, almond cake, condensed goat milk and a few other ingredients I'm forgetting. This restaurant deserves a second star in my opinion. The staff are super knowledgeable but totally casual. However, everything arrived right on time and was served with great care (as in, not casual but very professional). I could find no flaw in any dish. Everything balanced. Meat and fish were minor players. They are therefore at the front of the coming vegan foodie revolution. Yes. It's Switzerland, you pay 20% more than everywhere else, but this should not factor into the rating.

Was there last night for dinner and it was really, truly great food. I really like the cool and relaxed atmosphere, which is not typical for a Michelin star restaurant. We did the 4 course menu with wine pairings (we liked it so much we asked for a 5th course). The wine pairings were 100% the highlight for me. We even got to try a rare wine made especially for the restaurant. Delicious! I would knock the rating down by just half a star because although the service was excellent, there were a few moments where it could have been slightly (really, just slightly) better. Overall, it was a great experience and I will be coming back!
