What an atmosphere. Very nice and chilled restaurant which can be used for eating or just for a drink in the bar. Great concept, good price/performance ratio and friendly staff. Very happy again.

Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were allowed to sit down and were served very friendly. The meal was delicious. The only point of criticism: You can only pay in cash. Unfortunately, this is no longer appropriate.

We were here with 10 people on a Saturday evening at 9:00 p.m. (favorite guests). We were aware that we were very late and might upset the kitchen staff because everyone ordered something else. However, all contacts with the employees were very pleasant and the food was also very tasty. Tartare, bison steak, burger, salad and hot stone were all perfect and large portions too. Gladly again and thank you

Nice facility. We ordered a chicken burger & a beef cheeseburger. The chicken burger was extremely thin and therefore dry. The cheeseburger had more bun than meat & the cheese was nowhere near melted. The buns were cold. Generally large portion with fine fries & salad. Moscow Mule was served in a normal glass and tasted like nothing. Price rather expensive, 80.- for 2 menus & 2 Moscow Mule. While we were eating we were asked several times in quick succession by several people how the food tasted and after that no one came for a long time and the dessert menu was never offered.

Huge selection of food. We ate the Mediterranean salad, mozzarella fingers, entercote and the chicken cordon bleu. It was delicious. There is a star deduction for three small points. We ordered fried croquettes with the cordon bleu, but received fries. You can only pay in cash in the restaurant (it has an ATM). And finally we wanted to take the leftover food with us and had to pay CHF 2 for packaging (it only costs a few cents).

I'm positively surprised, I always knew that Kusi supper would be great, some innkeepers could get a piece of it! 👍 👍 Just a shame for the lower Seetal? 😂 😂

Great atmosphere, super attentive and quick, very nice service! Food very nicely prepared, huge portions at almost outrageously low prices. Price-performance above average! Be careful with the kitchen, use spices sparingly! Unfortunately, the deer meat in the seasonal salad was no longer recognizable as such because of all the spices, but otherwise great cuisine👌

Very tasty food and cool atmosphere. The menu is very varied. Only the price is a bit on the upper limit and unfortunately you can only pay in cash.

While browsing through the reviews, I noticed the owner's thin-skinned nature... he reacts to critical feedback (which is certainly true in most cases, e.g. service and waiting times or reservation system/homepage) with disrespect and becomes personal... I find that inappropriate . I personally think the menu is very varied and the food is good! The ATM in the restaurant provides material for schnitzel banks or a carnival float for the Lucerne carnival... and this is only because the managing director doesn't want card payments or has abolished them (?!). A little note: You can now even pay by card in most bakeries and snack bars!

We went to dinner at Mare in Hochdorf on Saturday evening. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were very positively surprised by the menu. You can then combine starters and main courses from different countries such as Thai, Italian, American etc. We also had a cocktail for the aperitif, it came quickly, tasted very good and was decorated with loving details. At dinner we had burgers and Thai, which tasted very good, even if we waited a little longer. The portions were normal and we got enough. Price-performance is rather in the upper range. The room is decorated very unusually, which gives the restaurant its own touch. One star is deducted. This is because we were not informed that you can only pay in cash. There is an ATM in the restaurant, but there are high fees for withdrawing cash. That's why it's worth withdrawing cash in advance. What really bothered us was the sensory overload in the room. The volume was very high, you can hear different music from the bar and the restaurant. Added to this is the guests speaking. You have to speak very loudly to understand the other person. Another star was deducted because there were two dogs in the restaurant who kept barking loudly. The staff tolerated it. It was very annoying - it wasn't an option for us. Generally an exciting experience, especially the food was very good.

The waitress even less friendly than the barn door which creaks all the way when it opens! We waited 15 pounds for the food. Les is good but not crazy. Otherwise the decor is not bad but a little busy.

The Mare is difficult to describe. It's simply brilliant, from the conditions, to the ambience, to the music or the food, everything is simply brilliant. We just recommend making a reservation and remember, only cash is real 😉. We definitely eat at Mare every 4-6 weeks, so I can 100% recommend it.

The restaurant is almost unbeatable! I'll probably often take the hour's drive to eat here!!! Bravo...

The food has its price, but I think it's justified given the size and quality. The staff was always attentive and friendly. It can be quite loud in the large room, but it is very comfortable in the smaller room. The only drawback is that you can only pay in cash there. There is an ATM but the fees are quite high. Therefore a star deduction. So as long as you have cash with you, absolutely recommended.

Today I let myself be pampered again by the delicious daily recommendation. The Mare impresses with its consistently good cuisine, friendly service and short waiting times.

I've been to Mare a few times and have always been satisfied. The hot stone is highly recommended and the side dishes are fresh and beautifully presented.

Very good atmosphere. The Cordon Bleu that I had was very good, unfortunately there was a bit too little cheese, but the breading blew me away.

Service staff was nice and we were well served. The food itself was below average. The Cordon Bleu had a very strange aftertaste, tasted like old oil. The croquettes weren't fried long enough, so they were pretty mushy. The vegetables that came with it were bland. Hardly seasoned frozen vegetables. The steamed carrots were dry on the outside, even a little butter wouldn't have hurt them.

Recommended to everyone! Sensational food and drink.

Fine food and special atmosphere

Been there for the first time. What sensational....the ambience, the service, the food....I've never had such a great spare ribs...My husband's tartare is qualitatively great, tastes great, the consistency is too "liquid" for me personally. ...the meat could be cut more coarsely, but that's a matter of taste... We'll definitely be back...and we'll recommend it...thank you for a wonderful evening...

!!!!! LUNCH ABSOLUTE Flop!!!!!! A colleague and I (both trained chefs) were at Mare for lunch today. The first thing I noticed was that there were unclean boxes in the obvious “hygiene zone” in the open kitchen. We were able to choose something from the buffet, but it didn't appeal to us at all. The soup didn't have an appealing color and didn't taste really good either. I can get the salad with “ready-made sauce” at every gas station!! A pity!! Breaded chicken schnitzels that neither seasoned well nor looked good. Spaghetti al pesto anything but al dente… In the end we couldn't even pay with the card - the message was that the restaurant would charge too high. I'm very sorry but with the best will in the world I can't give more stars... I would be curious to see if the à la carte evening service is better.

The food is good. However, the staff doesn't seem very friendly and very stressed. Had to ask several times for the bill which was always forgotten. The waiting times are generally very long.

Nice decor, good food, friendly service.

The service women made an unfriendly and disrespectful impression. Without warning, a service worker stole 3 bottles of alcohol (they only had this with them, didn't want to drink it) which were under the table. When we asked her what she was doing with our drinks, she ignored us and ran behind the bar with them. The Mojitos are legendary water with ice and a piece of lemon, hardly any taste of alcohol. That's why me and my friends will NOT go to Mare in the future.

Children not welcome! Since there was no children's menu, we ordered a normal portion and an empty plate for our two little ones. The waitress then kindly told us that she would serve the whole thing on two plates - which would of course be top service. Now both children received two huge plates and were then paid for two adult portions (reduced by just CHF 3.00 each). Complaints didn't help - that was their business model - there were no empty plates and everyone had to order something. They could have kindly told us that earlier! (!!!) ... then we would have ordered the starter as another main course. Unfortunately it was the last time there. This "business model" is not for us - there is definitely better service!

Was celebrating there at the weekend for the second time because of friends who wanted to go there. Absolutely overcrowded both times. The DJ doesn't really seem open to the song you want as a man (but no problem as a woman with cleavage). It takes about 25 minutes to order drinks, no problem. With all my love for normality and I also hate the Corona rules, I find what's going on there cheeky. You have to wear a mask on the bus etc. All the rules are being ignored there, hundreds of people in a pile and clearly overwhelmed staff. In addition, I was almost beaten up both times because I apparently pushed someone. Sry guys, the shed isn't for me.
