It's a bar with a beautiful view along the canal in the middle of the city, they give you nice shawls to sit outside and you can enjoy the open air even in freezing weather.

Great service - AWESOME. Whether on NM or in the evening, always super nice - brilliantly made drinks. You even get olives and a glass of water with a soft drink, which is always refilled! (I can't judge food)

Very nice and hip little cocktail bar. Great: you first get water, which is constantly replenished. I had a good “Zurich Riesling”. Friendly service, very nicely decorated and every time I walked past the bar was full - it's worth stopping by! :-) Unusual and good cocktail menu, I'll post some pictures from it.

Great drinks, great service, and great vibes. Free olives and water as you sit down are highly appreciated. Probably the best espresso martinis I have ever tried, highly recommend coming here with friends!

Genuinely rude service. No eye contact from the waiter just seems indecent. Possibly racism, given I was the only non-white person sitting at my table, and the only one who received zero eye contact, acknowledgment, or thanks. Take your prejudices back to the 1930s. Thanks.

Waiter who works here is completely rude, and possibly a sleaze. It was I (male) and two companions (both female) at the table. He paid them all the attention and wouldn’t even make eye contact with me. Then, when it came time to leave, I was the only one of us three who tipped, and he still didn’t have the decency to address me when thanking us, only the two others. I’m never coming here again. Terrible, terrible service.

Nice bar, delicious drinks (the Basil Smash is really good) and a casual atmosphere. I like the olives with the drinks, and there are also small nibbles like dips and nachos. I had the latter and they were solid. The only thing I find annoying is the music, which gets louder and louder as the evening progresses. For me, bars are a place to meet and exchange ideas, not a club (especially since dancing in the Marea doesn't appear to be planned), it's a shame when chatting with each other becomes almost impossible at some point 😬 but good for the early evening (5 p.m. - 7 p.m.).

Great location right by the Limmat. The interior is very nice and relaxed. The drinks were very good. A nice selection of cocktails. But the food and service were quite disappointing. I got the feeling that the service was very annoyed that we were there and they just weren’t friendly. So this definitely needs improvement in my opinion!

Great place and also the cocktails are fantastic. You can also ask for something more classic, such as a Mai Tai. If you go around 6PM in the summer and sit outside you have the sun until late and you can enjoy the occasional supercar driving by.

Lovely joint right at the street with views of the Limmat river. It has both indoor and outdoor seating and a very cosy comforting vibe and decor. Everything is good from the nibbles to the coffees to the drinks. They have chips, hummus-pita and cheese nachos on their menu for the nibbles. We ordered 3 cocktails, a beer and nachos. The nachos were perfectly baked, full of black beans, salsa and cheese and appetising. Cocktails were well made (had a tequila base, an Aperol base (named airplane) and negroni , and all drinks including beer were fresh. They don’t take reservations and mostly seem full but have enough seating and moving tables. One warning though for anyone afraid of bees, take the outdoor seating as quite some bees fly around inside but let the bee be!

Priced like any other bar in Zurich BUT the service here is really top and makes this bar stand out! There are fine olives with the drink and the staff is also very warm and friendly. :)

The waiter was rude. I was asking if they had certain drinks on the menu because I didn’t find it. He replied: “you could just look at the menu”. Completely unacceptable behaviour. I will not come back again … Also the service was terrible. We had to wait 10 minutes and had to ask twice to get the bill.

The Manta Ray was absolutely inedible. For 18.- a shame. The staff was also demotivated and unfriendly. Location is good, but the rest is...

I spoke with more Locals, who tended to frequent this bar. Not many tourists were on site while we were there.

Very nice. Indoors with comfortable and beautiful as well as colorful cushions. To drink and eat, alcohol and not coffee. The experience of the outdoor table on the edge of the sidewalk is absolutely worth trying. Beautiful, suggestive, original and very cute. Average prices, even characteristic upper floor. All in wood.

Lovely staff, deicious and inventive drinks. Every second Wednesday there’s an awesome and skilled magician called Daniel going around the tables bound to amaze you :)

Marea was such an amazing place to relax, have some good drinks, and bar food, hangout with your friends or loved one. The bartender makes the best drinks and the atmosphere is amazing as well, great music! Lucas is amazing at what he does. All the way from Mexico and the USA we loved this place! And highly recommend it while in Zürich Switzerland.

Cocktails were nice and also the prices are OK. However the service is slowwww. This place is mostly for students that hand out in the university so service could for sure be improved. Nevertheless we had a nice evening out. Better options in the city but could be also ok this bar.

Perfect spot for a coffee with a friend in the morning and a cocktail in the evening. It's cozy and calm, with a great location right by the river. I like it particularly in the morning for a capuccino and a croissant. There are quite a few seats indoors and also a bunch of tables outside. Staff is attentive and quick, and they speak English quite well. Prices are average for Zurich.

Friendly staff and the have the lovliest cheesecake with rasperry sauce! The drink I had (basil smash) was delicious and beautifully presented. The only downside to this place is the noise from the main tram way and the seriously loud music the blast inside. I always sit outside right by the window so I have my cheescake in peace and quiet.

I was very often, almost every weekend, this spring/early summer here. Nowadays it totally changed. Horrible music, very loud and no more charm anymore. The (probably) new owner has hardly think about his concept.

Nice staff, good price given location (cocktails ~CHF 14-18), served with water and olives, and cocktails delicious. Assumed everything along the water would be a tourist trap but seems not. Also fun music (but could still chat easily)

Went there for a drink with kids. Drinks were fine, decoration nice, but the service was appalling. You could clearly see that the waitress did not want to be there: first just threw the menus on the table, then was impatient with our order, then brought the wrong drinks and when we wanted to pay just ignored us. Shame really.

Cozy vibe. Friendly staff. Good coffee and beer. Even though it is right in front of the lake, it is less crowded comparing to other restaurants and bars nearby, which is great to relax. Also good to read some books and work on your things during daytime.
