Very friendly, attentive service staff, the atmosphere is relaxed and the food is absolutely fabulous! We have rarely eaten so well!

Even as a non-vegetarian, I really enjoyed the food and was very surprised by the diverse and surprising dishes. Everything was beautifully presented and the staff provided us with great information and service.

The restaurant seems charming, but is overrated. The food is good but nothing special. Only the vegetarian offering stands out a little, as does the furnishings. However, you can expect more for the prices

The compositions were creative and surprising. The only negative was the wine selection. In my opinion, there are sometimes better companions. Thanks to the market kitchen team. This was my first time in a fine-dining vegan restaurant — it was a nice experience overall. The evening concept is simple: there is a surprise menu with four to eight courses. You can have a wine or juice pairing with your dinner. I wanted to try all the flavors, so I went for the full eight course surprise menu with an accompanying wine pairing. We were told that the size of the dishes would be scaled according to how many we ordered. We saw that in action a during the evening when a nearby table ordered only four courses: their main course had three pieces of pastry filled with mushrooms — ours had only two. This was fine, though, since we couldn't have eaten more at that point. Like the food, the amount of wine is also scaled back. While you do get a different wine for each dish, you get less than a full glass of each. The dishes were all beautifully arranged. There were some fun combinations such as pumpkin soup with pear sorbet. As one would expect, there were lots of colors and flavors and we generally enjoyed trying everything. The taste ranged from smoky (charred leek) to creamy (pumpkin soup) to somewhat hearty (packets of Savoy cabbage). Nothing was spicy or very intense, but it was all tasty in its own right. The service was smiling and friendly. The chef served some of the plates himself, which was a nice touch. The whole thing took just over four hours, which means roughly 30 minutes between each course (but with some smaller "greetings from the kitchen" in between). We felt that was too long and the wooden chairs became increasingly uncomfortable after sitting on them for so many hours. Tips for next time: order four courses instead of the full eight. This will speed things up and since the portions are a little bigger, I think we'll still leave the table feeling full.

The presentation of the dishes excels with a perfect score of 5/5, demonstrating exceptional visual appeal. However, several dishes fall short in delivering strong and unique flavors, highlighting a need for greater culinary innovation in taste.

The market kitchen is not far from Langstrasse, near the bakery; There is a bus and tram station right in front of the house. The restaurant is attractively decorated and you immediately feel at home. You will be warmly welcomed and accompanied throughout the evening in a very friendly manner. The vegan dishes are excellent! A very creative cuisine that will be remembered. Surprising and always an experience! The wine accompaniment is also highly recommended. We always enjoy coming back!

Absolutely divine! We had the 6 course dinner two days ago and loved every dish! You do not have to be a vegan to enjoy this place. It will satisfy the palate of everyone. Service was also top 👌🏼 and Chef Tobias was very warm and welcoming. Marktküche has landed on my list of favorite restaurants (and I’m not a vegan). Can’t wait to return!

Excellent restaurant, everything is just right here, from the exciting, lovingly prepared and served culinary delights to the well-thought-out wine pairing to the professional and charming service. The little surprises between courses are wonderful and also that the boss himself stops by the table and asks whether everything was as desired. I haven't eaten so well in a long time. I would give more stars if I could.

All dishes are masterfully prepared to remind us to appreciate natural, regional, seasonal flavors. Reminds me of the Japanese mentality around food in many ways, yet, it’s an unmistakably Swiss enterprise. Will be back!

My friend invited me here for his birthday because I eat a vegetarian diet. The restaurant is very comfortably furnished and the staff was extremely friendly! You could tell they were very professional. They also speak several languages. The chef introduced himself personally and said goodbye to us at the end 😊. The dishes were extremely varied; we ordered an 8-course menu. We will definitely come back 😊

An outstanding experience in the market kitchen! I can really recommend it to everyone, whether vegan or not. I was at the Tian Restaurant in Munich a few years ago and never thought I would find something so comparable in Switzerland. The use of selected local products resulted in a true gourmet experience. The service was extremely courteous and the relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant added to the enjoyment. In addition, the boss personally came to our table to greet us, which was extremely pleasant. We will definitely come back. 👏🏻

Wonderful evening that we were able to enjoy in the market kitchen. The birthday dinner was a poem and impressed us from start to finish. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The difference to a “normal” fine dining restaurant, which “among other things” also offers vegan dishes, is also clearly noticeable. Highest quality and culinary art! We will be back!

We chose the 8-course menu with my wife in the evening. And neither of us were disappointed. Sensational courses, very delicately seasoned, lots of local products. Not a “hipster-chic” thing, but still very casual. One highlight followed the next. Every course was pure enjoyment. I have been to many vegan restaurants worldwide and in CH and ZH. This restaurant, the concept and the people who run it make me say: My absolute favorite restaurant. My non-vegan wife also enjoyed it incredibly much. Prices are high, yes. But you have to be prepared to pay for this quality. And Zurich is also an expensive place. Due to budget constraints, I will not be able to visit this restaurant and enjoy the food more often. I'm still looking forward to being able to experience the hospitality and culinary delights again one day.

Recently I had the pleasure of visiting the vegan restaurant "Marktküche" and I have to say that it was an absolutely remarkable experience. The service was excellent and the staff extremely friendly. From the moment I arrived until I said goodbye, I felt really well looked after. The staff was courteous, attentive and always willing to make recommendations or answer questions. The 8-course menu in the “Marktküche” was a real treat. Each course presented a fascinating variation of vegan dishes that I thoroughly enjoyed. The combination of flavors and textures was exceptional and testament to the creativity and talent of the kitchen team. Each plate was carefully composed and showcased a tasteful selection of fresh, seasonal ingredients. It was a pleasure to taste the culinary masterpieces and discover new flavor combinations. The atmosphere in the “market kitchen” was extremely pleasant. The restaurant was stylishly designed and had a welcoming atmosphere. The modern decor, combined with warm colors and tasteful lighting, created a relaxed and cozy environment. The tables were attractively set and the overall ambience made me feel comfortable and relaxed. In general, I found it to be a very relaxed atmosphere that you're not used to in similar restaurants. Overall, my visit to the “Market Kitchen” was an unforgettable experience. The excellent, friendly service, the delicious 8-course menu with its interesting variations and the nice ambience made this visit something very special. I can highly recommend the restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit.

I love how vegan cuisine is developing in Zurich, especially with such places offering inventive, high-end tasting menus where no one will miss the meat. While definitely not cheap, it's good value for money for an evening spent exploring various delicious tastes and textures, in a cozy environment. The service was professional and gracious and let us swap out dessert for another starter because one person in our party doesn't like sweets.

An experience more than just a dinner! Anyone who is skeptical about vegan food should try it! We went for Valentine's Day and it was great! Very kind staff and the food, like the wine, spectacular! You really have to let yourself be surprised by these dishes. I personally recommend 6! since they are small you might think that you will still be hungry but this is absolutely not the case! Exceptional! We will be back for sure!

Star cuisine at its best! The exclusively vegan dishes are served harmoniously and are a real experience for your palate. The service presents the courses with expert enthusiasm - making feasting in the market kitchen even more fun. However, this also comes at a price. However, in view of the very high quality of the products used and the masterful craftsmanship of the kitchen team, I think every cent is well invested. I would happily recommend it and would be happy to come back!

Wow! Quite an experience! The tasting of 6 dishes with surprises here and there... The service was as good as the dishes. I also had the pleasure of tasting 6 different wines, in short... it was really a great experience!

I honestly do not understand why the restaurant has so many good reviews. The presentation of the food is great, but the tastes are ?!?!. In such a restaurant I expect surprises in my palate. A few dishes were good but the majority was ?!?! and why this taste?! The service was mediocre, no passion, no friendly expressions. The cook greeted to us at the end but did not seem to be pride. We were 4 and each of us paid ca 200 CHF. Everybody got silent, looking at the bill.

We were there on a Tuesday evening. 4 or 5 gears are completely sufficient. We ordered the 5 course tasting menu option. They came with several extras, three items pre-meal, then a few palate cleansers in between courses. All items were presented artistically, on top of good taste. The cost of the ingredients certainly was much cheaper but the efforts put in to prepare the whole meal is just superb. Since we love their bread roll, the waitress just kept bringing us more.

I went there for dinner with my girlfriend and neither of us are vegan. We chose the 8-course menu and were overwhelmed by the coordinated flavors and the unusual decorations. We were in the restaurant for 3 hours and received something to eat every 20 minutes. Certainly on the more expensive side, but if you want to try something special, this is the right place for you. The Kle restaurant could learn a lot from this.

Great food, great wine, very friendly service. Absolute taste experience across the board, I was very impressed and it was vegan!!! With every new course there was always a new surprise, a new idea, a twist, it was a real symphony for the taste buds!!! Only the time... After 2 hours I almost couldn't sit on the chairs anymore.

This is quite an experience! Great vegan food served in a very nice setting. There's only a fixed menu but you can choose how many courses you want to get. We went with the wine pairings and didn't regret it.

Food has been served here for 8 years and it always tastes excellent, without exception. The price/performance ratio is right, and we're also full (if not, you could ask for a second helping).

Top address if you like vegetable dishes. We had rarely such a pleasure tasting the various dishes proposed within a menu. Quality was very high, different wine proposed with each plate was matching 100%, not easy considering the various ingredients. Service was super nice and highly efficient. Not cheap, but.as always quality has a price !

Tried the 4-course testing menu. The food was well prepared and with very reasonable price, especially in comparison to other restaurants with testing menu in Zurich. the surprise “free” dishes served between courses were all tasty and pretty 😍 highly recommend!

Truly unique experience, especially for vegetarians or vegans. Unique pairings and nice flavors. Our personal highlight was the raviolo, followed by the red cabbage soup. The pre-dessert was also very delicious and surprising. I was not wowed by some of the other dishes, would have hoped for a bit more flavor so only 4*. We had the tasting menu with 6 dishes. Some of the portions were minuscule, so if you arrive famished, go for the larger menu. Overall a great experience to have! Compliments to the chef who also greeted us after the meal!

Came here for an anniversary only to realise that we had booked the wrong date, the staff when above and beyond and set a new table for us. This was so kind and absolutely made out the evening. The food was delicious (we took 6 courses with wine pairing)

Fabulous, high end vegan restaurant, with set 4 to 8 course menus in the evening. The food is prepared with a lot of attention to detail, very creative and well executed. The atmosphere is comfortable with helpful and friendly staff. On the expensive side, as you would expect, but in our opinion worth it for the quality you get.

Amazing vegan food with great service!

Full points for the ambience, service and the fact that a restaurant has finally taken plant-based food seriously, and presented it with the elegance it deserves. As far as the food itself goes, all courses were very creative and beautiful. The courses were averagely tasty and did not blow our minds (yes I expected that to happen given the presentation and price point). Also, minus points for not a single protein-rich course (of 6). The wines were outstanding, and so well-paired with each course. Overall, an experience worth trying.

Vegan cuisine in a class of its own. Four of us were there in September 2021. As a convinced meat connoisseur, I was very positively surprised by the creativity, variety and taste experiences of this vegan cuisine. A culinary experience that will be repeated.

Good experience to try but I wouldn't come back. We got the six tasting menu. It started off quite strong with the food tasting unique and flavourful. The last 2-3 tasting were not put together well (one of them even included buckwheat...). I have had other vegan tasting menus, and i would say this one was my least favourite.
