Nice place, nice restaurant, but unfortunately a very, very unfriendly landlord! When we entered the terrace we weren't allowed to choose the table ourselves (many tables were free) because we ONLY wanted to drink a coffee. Unfortunately, we already have that Having to experience being served for the second time by this unfriendly, stressed-looking landlord (once you can forgive this....had a bad day, for example). When we pointed this out, we were insulted and insulted again, again and again, it couldn't be him We are happy to be able to visit this beautiful place again soon (the landlord is leaving) and to be able to drink our coffee in peace!

We were served by a very nice and attentive woman. When we welcomed our dogs, they were given a bowl of water! We enjoyed fine coups and can recommend the inn.

Lekker, really traditional, gratin, vegetable kefen, meat hm hm hm smack good, glass of wine Epesse was banal without taste, beautiful wooden mountain inn, walk from Rotkreuz 1 1/2 hours uphill.

In addition to a fantastic view, there was a wonderful dinner. Very friendly staff. The streets to the restaurant are rather narrow, so always drive carefully (oncoming traffic). A visit is definitely worth it 😄😉.

We stopped on a bike tour for a beer and an ice cream. I don't know if you just prefer to receive people in their Sunday best, or what exactly the problem was, but we didn't feel welcome at all. But since the boss himself seemed very annoyed, it could also be that the employees are not particularly motivated.

Very nice restaurant with a large terrace!

Nice atmosphere, friendly but somewhat stressed staff. Too expensive for a simple green salad (portion rather small) at CHF 13. The main menus were visually very nice and of good quality, but also smaller portions. Vegi menu with asparagus and pasta for CHF 34.- also expensive. The apple strudel wasn't fresh at all and the dough was totally rubbery. Coup Romanoff small with a few strawberries and a scoop of ice cream for a whopping CHF 11.50 also offered too little. Unfortunately a bit disappointing, we would have expected a little more for the price/performance.

We celebrated New Year’s Eve at “Michelschrüüz”. The restaurant was well attended. The New Year’s Eve menu “Zweierlei” was creative and invited people to go on a culinary journey of discovery. The kitchen surprised us with a 4-course menu. Two different dishes were served for each course. The house aperitif and the cheese mousse were a great start to the evening. The starter was a house-pickled salmon with a Bernerküssli. We continued with the soup, beetroot prosecco and parsnip soup with a butter dumpling skewer. The starter and soups were very good. For the main course we were served a veal steak and a beef entrecote with vegetables and potato gratin. The main course was excellent and the meat was buttery tender. As a sweet conclusion, there was an orange panna cotta with sorbet and plum compote, as well as marinated formaccini with nut bread. All we can say is simply heavenly. Very accommodating, competent and friendly host who guided us through the evening. The Gasthaus Michaelskreuz is definitely always worth a visit, we will be back soon.

As always, it was a pleasure for us to eat with Daniel and his team. It was very nice again and he also looked after our boys very lovingly. See you next time.

After our bad experience from last month, we decided to give it another try. It was a sunny Sunday, around lunchtime, as we entered the terrace with my partner, and our daughters 2 an 12. It was quite busy. We sat down and waited for several minutes, looking insistely in the eyes of the waiters (including the owner). No one said a word - no hi, no please wait, no I will be with you soon. My partner asked a waiter, if we could place our orders, after we took the menus overselvs. We happily ordered some wild meat courses. I than decided to go to the toilet, with my baby girl. Bevor entering the restaurant I politely asked the owner, where the toiltes are. He replied quickly "the toilets are just for guests". My husband overheard the conversation and said how unpolite. Than we were kicked out. I returned to talk to the owner and he was denying to have said anything. Really disappointing! They hate guests and have more than enough of them, as the location is perfect. Than we left to Peperoncini 1313 and had the best pizzas ever. Nice view, atmosphere and drinks. Great alternative nearby in Udligenswil.

A place with a wonderful view of the Alps

Today we were on the terrace shortly after noon to have a coffee. The boss personally served. The waiting time for the order was long. When we wanted to pay we didn't have any cash. The innkeeper reacted with an annoyed sigh!!!!!! For someone who shows off his diploma as a "Federal Certified Restaurateur" I found this reaction extremely unprofessional and extremely guest-unfriendly!!!!!!! We were so taken aback that we even apologized. - One star for the coffee (which was good). - One Star for the beauty of the place (very beautiful area). Innkeepers who don't appreciate our presence will never see us as guests again!

Very friendly service and delicious food.

Unfortunately we had very bad experiences. One might think that after the Covid restrictions, the innkeepers should look forward to guests and make an effort. Some are probably still doing too well. You are pressured right from the start, with hardly any time to settle in. Hardly any breaks between meals. In the early evening you already have the feeling that the table has been "sold" again and you have to eat quickly and leave. At 10:30 p.m. on a Saturday the landlord comes by and says goodbye! Of course he doesn't go, it's just supposed to be a sign for the guest to finally leave! Incredible! I really don't know if the word guest has any meaning here. Now about the food. Expensive, but bland meat and sticky French fries and then everything is cruelly prepared. Meat was slapped onto vegetables. I eat better in the self-service restaurant in the mountains. The wine was great. The dessert was very good. The coffee is excellent. Sorry, but overall we really expected more.

Our favorite restaurant. Super dear boss, very fond of children and always well positioned. As were the staff, courteous. The view is absolutely enchanting. And the spacious playground for the children invites them to play. We always enjoy coming back.

Went for dinner with my 2 kids. 1 portion of fries, 1 fries of chicken nuggets, 1 sausage cheese salad with bread, 2 × ice tea and 1 Prosecco = 60 Fr. It was very tasty, the prices are high in my opinion, but I'll definitely be back! Nice staff, very friendly.

Soviel vorab: Das Plätzchen ist toll, das Essen schmeckt gut. Nur leider ist der Gastgeber extrem launisch und häufig unfreundlich. Mehrmals ist es uns schon aufgefallen, kürzlich ist es nun komplett eskaliert: Die Gäste am Tisch nebenan wurden wegen einer Nichtigkeit angeschnauzt...So geht man nicht mit Gästen um.

I I had two terrible lunches at this place. Once a salad was served with so much dressing that it was inedible and the owner refused to change it. The other time i ordered a tomato salad with mozzarella and the tomatoes were so green and hard that they were impossible to eat. I mentioned to the staff who ignored me. I did not insist but will never get any more food at this place. It's a shame because it's a nice place with a terrace.

Essen ist gut, Bedienung des Besitzers sehr respektlos. Schätzt den Kunden nicht, unfreundlich launisch zu Gästen. Schon mehrmals erlebt, Bei Geschäftsessen 180Grad anders, zuvorkommend humorvoll etc. Sobald man als Privatgast erscheint bekommt man kaum eine Begrüssung, kein Blickkontakt, kein Lachen, sehr fordernd, nicht zuvorkommend. Schade hat er keine Konkurrenz da würden sich viele abwenden

The salad was ok. But it's not that difficult either. The sliced ​​venison was tough, the spaetzli was nothing special, as was the red cabbage. It said there would be a fruit garnish and dried apricots. There was a huge half pear and no apricot/fruit garnish. The service didn't even come to ask how it tasted and never asked if another glass of wine/mineral was wanted. We ordered the wild chocolate sauce. A normal game sauce arrived. When I commented on this at the end, the waitress said why I hadn't said anything. I answered because she never came to the table and I don't know if it was that sauce or not. She replied that she had walked back and forth enough, I could have called.... As a waitress, I would never give a guest such an answer...

Wir wollten am Nachmittag bei Sonnenschein auf der Terrasse ein Dessert und Cafe bestellen, aber da kam niemand. Eine anderes Paar, sagte uns dann wir müssen am Buffett bestellen, auf der Terrasse wird nicht bedient. Ich ging dann an Buffet und wollte bestellen, da hat mich der Gastgeber bereits das erste mal angekeifft, ich solle Abstand einhalten und ob ich die hohen Fallzahlen nicht studiert hätte. Ich sagte, es hiesse ich müsse hier bestellen, da draussen nicht bedient sei. Er sagte ich müsse jetzt warten wir seien da wie in Paris ein nach dem andern und er gehe jetzt zuerst einkassieren. Der Buffetman hatte dann nach einer Zeit bedauern mit mir und ich durfte doch noch bestellen. Bereits im August hat mich der Gastgeber auf der Terrasse angekeift und ich werde nicht mehr dort einkehren, sehr unfreundlich und lange Wartezeiten.

Idyllic place with very fine cuisine!

Nachdem wir eine Bike Tour hinter uns hatte, wollten wir nur kurz ein Bier trinken. Da wir ohne reservierunh da waren gab es kein Platz. Drausen standen aber mehre Tische unbesetzt nicht mal für ein Bier hatte uns der Kellner einen Platzt geben wollen!Gastfreundschaft ist etwas anderes!

Wir reservierten für 5 Personen für das Abendessen einen Tisch. Auf den Bildern sieht es schön gedeckt und gepflegt aus. Man gab uns einen ungedeckten Tisch neben dem Buffet und der Küche. Nachdem wir keinen Apéro wollten, wurden wir wohl von der Gästeliste gestrichen. Wir sassen mindestens 20 Minuten da und wurden nicht mehr beachtet. In einem schwachen Moment des Personals hatten wir die Möglichkeit die Speisekarten und eine Flasche Rotwein zu bestellen. Der Wein stand nach kurzer Zeit auf dem Buffet. Keiner der Angestellten servierte ihn uns. Nach weiteren gefühlten 20 Minuten bekamen wir den Wein und durften das Essen bestellen. Aus der Küche tönte es extrem laut vom Flachschlagen der ca. 50 Schnitzel.Nach 1 Stunde bekamen wir unser zähes Fleisch die ölige Rösti und den geschmacklosen Fisch. Es lohnt sich wirklich nicht dieses Lokal zu besuchen.Mässige Qualität, lausiger und unfreundlicher Service und ein arroganter, unfähiger Besitzer. Schade um das Geld und die Zeit.

Das Restaurant Michaelskreuz ist sehr schön gelegen und sicherlich zu empfehlen. Aber parkieren Sie ja nicht einfach dort, um zur Kapelle zu laufen. Umgehend werden Sie vom Chef keifend von der Terrasse aus und mit viel Sarkasmus daran erinnert, wie unanständig Sie sind. Da getraut man sich schlicht und einfach nicht mehr nach dem Spaziergang im Restaurant einzukehren. Und noch etwas: Dieses Parkverbot für Nichtkunden ist nicht mal amtlich beglaubigt. Wir werden dort nicht mehr einkehren!

Very nicely located on top of a mountain. Very rich selection of various fine food. It was actually really tasty. Nice and friendly service. Afterwards, be sure to take in the view of Lake Zug.

Cozy place in a beautiful location near the Michaelskreuz chapel. You can get there by car, there is free parking, a good kitchen, a very warm cook and kind staff, accommodation options. It is allowed to visit with dogs (well-behaved ;)).

Great place! Amazing location. We hiked there from Rotkreuz, we had dinner and then back. However you can also drive there (or cycle). Good food!!
