Special ambience...food very good...service attentive and friendly... The only thing I was missing...was the expected country music...maybe...expected wrong... I heard soft, indefinable music in the background... it's a shame... everything else was great!!!

Saddle of venison from 1 person and not like everywhere else from 2 people 😩 fantastically served with all the side dishes that go with it and the meat is simply delicious. I'll be back soon. Service is very nice ❤️❤️

Wonderful restaurant! Very cozy and furnished with a lot of love. Service is top! Mega attentive, friendly and always with a smile on his face. The boss personally comes to each table and wishes you a bon appetit. You feel in great hands. The food was excellent! We had 2 burgers, one with salad and one with fries. The burger was fresh and very seasoned - we've never had such a good burger!!! It was unique!!! The fries were also crispy and well seasoned. The dessert (lukewarm chocolate soufflé with vanilla ice cream) was very tasty and chocolaty. Definitely try it!!! All in all, great value for money, great atmosphere, top service - simply an experience to feel good and enjoy! Going out is fun! We'll definitely be back! Thanks!!!

There were 6 of us, it was very cozy and harmonious. Prices are rather high but also exceptionally good quality. Cool atmosphere. Personally, I was a bit bothered by the fact that the selection of Swiss meat was relatively small, but I would still go again.

Had a bison fillet 300g today, it was an absolute taste explosion and would be recommended to everyone. The chicken wings are also more than recommended.

Last Friday evening we visited the Bahnhöfli restaurant in Root. We have already tried a few steakhouses and were absolutely thrilled with the Bahnhöfli restaurant. The quality of the meat is incredible and the service is very friendly and attentive. We had the steak tartare as a starter and a 500g beef fillet for the main course, which was fried and tasted absolutely perfect. We were super satisfied and will be back soon. At the end there was a fine degestif offered by the boss. Thank you and see you soon

We went to this restaurant for dinner with 7 people on a Tuesday evening. It was our first visit. All in all we were satisfied, but overall it didn't blow our socks off. First of all, the food was really delicious and the best! The prices are corresponding, but that's okay. Since at least one of the two salads (we didn't order the other) also had meat, in addition to the soups there is only a veggie burger for guests who don't want to eat meat. The veggie burger also tastes really good. But be careful, if necessary, mention it when making the reservation, as they only had exactly 1 of this dish in stock the evening we were there. The service was often a bit uncertain and the orders got a bit mixed up, but despite everything the lady was always friendly. Some other moods would have worsened towards the guests. So even if it wasn't done by an expert, it was carried out well. The furnishings were also really beautiful and lovingly done. There is also pleasant country music playing to match the style, which I personally really liked.

It was my first time there, but definitely not the last time. Food, service, wines are simply very good. You are simply a guest there who can enjoy. The trip to Root was more than worth it.

Food is OK but too expensive for what you get. Unfortunately, the boss is snooty and arrogant. The service staff, however, was very friendly.

The prairie town of the West catches up with me as I walk through the narrow and wooden entrance. I come into a beautifully decorated saloon (very nicely done) with dimmed lights. The fire is blazing behind the counter and there is a subtle smell of beech wood. The master grills the best cuts from beef to horse to lamb to bison...also salmon and vegetables as well as wonderful corn on the cob and much more!!!The quality of the food and the service as well as the ambience justifies the price! A master can only be someone who is passionate about it. I never manage to fit my selection into one main course...at least. two main courses 😉must be. Thank you for another lovely and lovely evening yesterday!! highly recommended.

The three of us went to the Bahnhöfli for dinner on Friday evening. The “saloon” was occupied by a large company and we ate in the restaurant. It was a bit noisy at times, but that's unavoidable with so many guests. The service was very personable, well-positioned and very courteous and efficient despite the "full house". A small suggestion for improvement: Although studies have proven that an inconspicuous, light touch on the guest has a positive effect and can also result in a higher tip, this "trick" should not be exaggerated. The waitress touched us on the shoulder every time she came to our table, which was unfortunately just "too much" and a bit unpleasant. Here “less” would be “more”. The burgers and fries were ok. Prices for food and wine tend to be in the higher segment.

Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience at all. Just wanted to have something quick to eat and take a look because it was recommended to me. My companion became unwell while eating and couldn't finish eating. Then he had to hand you over. He reported it to the staff, that was VERY NICE, they reported it to the boss. He then came to the table and was completely freaked out that this was impossible, that something about his food wasn't good. I had no complaints. The innkeeper then waived the bill for my companion THANK YOU!! When we left the restaurant, we were attacked verbally and said that we were never allowed to enter your restaurant again. Conclusion: I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food wasn't great either.

Wonderful decoration, tailored to the occasion, top quality food, buttery tender meat. Perfect and courteous service from the entire Bahnhöfli team and the host couple! Ladies evening in the Riverside Saloon after the flood reconstruction phase A perfect evening in a unique, familiar location and attentive, friendly staff. For the starter we all had beef tartare and for the main course we had perfectly grilled bison fillet, which is by far the best meat I know and have ever eaten. The bison fillet is so tender that it melts in your mouth like butter. Simply magnificent. We'd love to come back to you again and again!

Nice atmosphere... super nice service, really👍 Awesome wild boar pepper plate and pasta with cream sauce and a brilliant burger plate...👍👍 We're not from the region either but it was so great that the four of us will definitely take the hour drive again....... 💪💪💪💪

Very tasty food but also very expensive

Unfortunately it didn't deliver what it promised. At this price for a burger you might expect a homemade bun. Likewise, with 400 gr. I expect a large patty and not 2 of 200 gr. There was no cheese on it either and you had to layer it yourself. All in all, a very expensive and very disappointing evening. Not recommendable.

Super fine food always happy. Even if we are not from the area, if we are nearby it is a must to eat there. The team is great, that's what I call good management, attentive and just friendly.

Absolutes TOP Essen! :-)Frischer Fisch vom Grill (direkt aus dem Aquarium), ein leckeres Pouletbrüstli und ein perfekt grilliertes Entrecote.Die Bedienung war super nett und sehr aufmerksam.Wir fühlten sehr wohl.Eine Perle im Root.Ist sehr, sehr zu empfehlen :-).Schutzkonzept ist auch genial.Der "Saloon" hat eine gedeckte Terrasse, mit Glasabtrennungen zwischen den Tischen.

Das Restaurant ist mit den Holzwänden, dem Holzgrill und der Western-Deko authentisch-schön eingerichtet. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir hatten einen sehr schön angerichteten Nüsslisalat und die Pouletflügeli XL. Beides waren ordentlich grosse Portionen und sehr lecker.

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT! The Bahnhöfli restaurant has been my favorite restaurant for years! In addition to the incredibly fine food, the service is very friendly and efficient. The operator Walti is very accommodating. I always notice that the guest's well-being and satisfaction is the most important thing to him. The meat is very high quality. There are also very inexpensive menus for lunch. I dare say that this restaurant has the best beef steak tartare in Switzerland! Of course we went to Bahnhofli for my daughter's baptism. A successful surprise! We received a wooden plaque on which my daughter's name and baptism date were recorded. In addition to the homemade “baby socks”, an absolutely successful surprise! A visit to this restaurant is always a hit. A huge compliment to Walti and his great team! PS: I didn't know the operator and his team before my first visit 3 years ago. Roman Wicki

The Bahnhöfli Root restaurant is a brilliant restaurant for both private and business visits. The service is incredibly friendly and the operator is very accommodating. You immediately feel at home in this restaurant. The food is extremely fine. Best meat quality. We also enjoy taking customers to this restaurant. The Riverside Saloon is awesome. Furnished and decorated in Western style. A special change. At lunchtime there is a very good menu at very good prices. This restaurant is highly recommended! Das Ambiente eines Western Saloons ist schon einmalig und eine Attraktion für sich. Richtig schmackhaftes Steak aus Schweizer Fleisch. Die Menuekarte bietet genügend Auswahl an Fleisch, Fisch und auch vegetarisch. Die Bedienung war sehr kompetent, sehr nett und hat uns gut beraten und im richtigen Zeitrhytmus die Speisen aufgetragen. Herzlichen Dank, wir kommen gerne wieder.

The food from all of us, 4 people in total with different menus, was excellent and highly recommended. Prices are in the upper middle range, but the quality is good, which is not always the case everywhere. We'll definitely be back. Greater praise to the chef.

Lässiges Western Ambiente. Schneller und guter Serviece. Ob Fleisch oder Fisch, sehr gute Qualität und wunderbat knusprig grilliert.

Auf der Durchreise haben wir uns spontan für das Bahnhöfli entschieden. Es stellte sich heraus, dass die Wahl ausgezeichnet war.Das Interieur liegt ganz im Zeichen legendärer Zeiten des rauhen "Wilden Westens" des späten 19. Jahrhunderts. Kleine und grössere Assesoires lassen vermuten wie es damals war. Ein Ambiente zum Wohlfühlen. Sogar das Coronakonzept wurde aufwendig und teuer aber klug umgesetzt.Die Kellnerin war äusserst nett und engagiert und das Essen einfach nur eine Wucht. Die Teller waren professionel, liebevoll und "gluschtig" angerichtet. Selbst wenn es bloss ein Riversideburger und Fischknusperli waren. So muss Gastronomie von heute verstanden werden. Eine wahre Freude, wenn einfach das ganze Paket stimmt. Leider ist sowas heute nicht mehr selbstverständlich.Wir kommen bestimmt bald wieder. Danke und Grüsse aus Spreitenbach

Ideal für Fleischtiger wie wir es sind. Es war wie immer perfekt. Der Service super und atmosphärisch heimelig. Die Corona-Vorsichtsmassnahmen perfekt gelöst, man fühlt sich nicht abgeschottet, aber etwas mehr unter sich. Freue mich bereits aufs nächste mal.

Wir sind regelmässig zu Gast und es war jedesmal Top! Qualität vom essen ist 1A+, Personal super freundlich und der Saloon ist schön und sauber.
