Milchbar in Zürich

After waiting at the table for over 10 minutes, I ordered a beef burger which arrived after about 20 minutes. The meat was not processed, or rather not cooked, and the bread was also very cold. I pointed this out to the waiter, but he just said sorry. Instead of being accommodating, I still paid the full price of 42chf including fries. Conclusion: pure catastrophe.

Went there for drinks in the early evening. Nice atmosphere and good Aperol and Campari Spritz.

Homemade iced tea and hummus with pita bread! We recommend!

Absolutely horrible service. I have been there a few times and every time it has been a disastrous experience simply because of very arrogant, unhelpful staff. Such a shame since the location is beautiful

My favorite coffee place in Zurich! Very nice outdoor seating, cappucino never disappoints! The burger was ok nothing special, but the waffles and pancakes amazing!!

A very nice place with great people and drinks. One of the must visit places in Zürich anytime of the year. The view of the garden adds a pleasant atmosphere as well as the very nice staff. The shop is very clean and everyone there well organised to help and make recommendations to the customers. Highly recommend!!

I went there for drinks with friends and the lady who was waiting on our table told us that the table she gave us was booked and we had to leave. She ditched us from the bar and didn’t even apologize and told us she forgot that the table was booked (which seemed to be a lie). Very shocked by this old lady’s behavior. Very unprofessional! Never going back there

The food was again very good and the service itself was pleasant at first impression. Unfortunately, the waiter ended up charging us significantly more for cake and the extra charge for the oat milk than was stated on the menu. Unfortunately, when confronted with this, only excuses came. A pity. I will no longer recommend the milk bar from now on.

A very nice cafe, with polite service and delicious drinks. The square and the fountain with the surrounding buildings make the landscape romantic.

We found it very expensive for what is normal in Zurich. They have charged us tip without asking for it and the food was very scarce.

Spacious café in a central Zurich location with lovely seating in the courtyard of a house. Friendly service. Not a standard in Zurich: free, good WiFi. The cheese platter we ordered was generous, with two different types of cheese (more than enough of both) but not very unusual.

I have been in Milchbar quite many times. I have seen in the summer a group celebrating a kid's birthday, I saw birds in the morning showering under the fountain and people enjoying their coffees with a good chat. However, my most recent favourite is during the night of a weekday. It was not so full and the sky was clear. The lighting was so elegant. The coffee there is well made with loveramics cups. It is a secret garden in the middle of the city

Cozy cafe to sit inside and outside. The breakfast is very tasty, there is a good selection and the quality is very good.

It's nice to be able to sit outside even in winter. I didn't eat anything, but there was attentive service. The espresso is good and there is a small chocolate per cup.

I went to the milk bar by chance because I had to wait for a colleague and it was cold outside. The milk bar was very busy, there was seating outside and inside. You also have seating on the first floor. They have laid out furs and blankets outside. I just drank a cappuccino, which was very tasty and served with a small Peclard chocolate stick. The courtyard is beautiful and hidden. Certainly a welcome refuge in summer. The price for a cappuccino is CHF 6.50.

Priciest coffee in town probably, and only few indoor seating option. But charming and well located.

Trendy place in the middle of town, which is ok if you’re just going for a coffee or a drink. Service not that good of the ‘take it or leave it’ school. Food not well presented at all. Not worth the trouble of reserving and having to confirm with your credit card details.

The club was recommended to me. The problem, however, was the bouncers who asked simple questions like "How much does it cost to get in?" very rude, if not even slightly irritated, turned us away.

Wait 15 minutes before an espresso can be ordered. Then it takes almost 15 minutes until he comes. And who's surprised, it also takes more than 15 minutes to pay, despite repeated requests. Sorry, but you can do better!!

Very good coffee, fun, light atmosphere. I was disappointed though in the handling of the pastry with bare hands. It also didn't help my overall impression that the pastry window was open and there was a table next to it where someone was sitting and coughing a bit...

There is nice atmosphere for coffee. Price for americano : 6 CHF Latte : 7 CHF You can try for coffee to rest.

We went for a Saturday brunch for the first time. The location is really good, and the food is enjoyable. The service, however, is, well, miserable! Very unfriendly staff, which is a pity, as it ruins the rest.

I frequently eat lunch here as I work very nearby. Today, I had the worst customer service experience. I was very nicely seated by the host (yes, I went to the host to ask for a seat) and then a server rudely demanded to know if I had a reservation and why I was sitting at the table. Then the server waited to bring me a menu, and then he ignored me for almost 15 minutes. I finally left when he came to ask me if I wanted to order anything. Are you kidding me?? You were rude when I was seated at the table and then you ignored me for 15 minutes to take my order. I’m Super disappointed because I like this place and normally everybody is very nice, polite, and helpful. 😕

We were there for brunch on Sunday lunchtime. It's nice to sit in the courtyard right next to a fountain. It was very busy and the employees were therefore quite stressed and often disorganized - but they were always friendly and apologized for the slightly longer waiting times - so tip top. We ordered a burger with cheese, unfortunately the cheese was forgotten. I ordered a bagel with a poached egg, the egg was completely hard boiled. The fries with the burger cost an extra 9CHF, but they are no more than cafeteria quality. The burger itself wasn't particularly good either, the meat was an industrial product, no special sauce and here too the egg was cooked too long. The chai was super delicious!! All in all, it's a nice café or bar, which is probably a great place to go for an aperitif or when there's less going on. I wouldn't go to brunch again.

The restaurant is really nice and during the week not that busy. On Saturday and Sunday it is so crowded that the quality is not as good as during the week. The service on the other hand was never outstanding, for the prices you pay you could expect a better service, I mean CHF 10.- for an orange juice…. I would recommend the eggs benedict with avocado toast and salmon but also the scrambled eggs with feta was really nice.

I had the steak sandwich. Though flavours were ok, the chef/cook did not consider the eating experience of the guest. The steak was not sliced, which made it an extremely and embarrassingly messy eating experience. Had to eat it with a fork and knife. Not very thoughtful. Service is also slow.

Nice place to relax and have a snack and/or aperitif. Quiet terrace with a view of the fountain, the hot drinks are not bad, the banana bread is ok, my friend had pita bread with guacamole and found it good but nothing more. Food intolerances/allergies are taken seriously 👍

Insider tip a little off Bahnhofstrasse. Ideal for a lunch or drink in summer (in the beautiful courtyard). Instant vacation.

I went there for breakfast. Everything was very delicious, I am allergic to strawberries and they prepared my cake without it, I loved it. Probably one of the best breakfasts of my life. The waitress was not very friendly.

The place is cute but the food under average, bland. It took them 20+ minutes to bring the dishes and on top od that they messed up the order, forgot to bring half of it. Than we waited another 15 minutes for the rest. Overpriced too. At the end they tried to charge us 42CHF (40€) extra, than they admitted it was a mistake😒

This place has an attitude problem. Cold overpriced coffee and a sullen and smelly waiter. The waiter reached over two people to give me my coffee because he couldn't be bothered to walk another metre. Food nothing special.

Unfortunately, service and attention has decreased enormously.

The menu is not extensive, but has something for everyone. The food is good and the service is very perfect

Nice courtyard, chilling in the middle of the stress of the city center. Coffee is ok'ish, you have to get a glass of water from a campsite shower. Service is sometimes like that, sometimes like that.

Location is very good, in a courtyard next to the famous Bahnhofstrasse. Location is very close to the main area where all the banks / financial institutions situated - which makes it a good place for offsite meetings. Food - I had the eggs, bacon, toast and butter for brunch. Plus a cup of cappuccino. Cappuccino is good but the others - nothing to be exciting about. Service- was fine, there's only one person to serve 6 to 7 tables so it was a bit slow but is reasonable.

Hip, something's going on. Aperitif bar. Service has a lot of room for improvement.

Quite ok, but boring and far too expensive plates - as is unfortunately the case with all Peclard stores. 1 small bagel with avocado, a few slices of radish and a few drops of balsamic vinegar costs around 24.- Almost cheeky... Thanks, but maybe again in a few years...

Went on a Monday evening, the place was full but the garden tables are separate enough so it didn't feel too crowded. Service was ok, nothing special about it. Drinks were great and the food was tasty, though the steak in the steak sandwich was over cooked (awesome sauce though).

So charming garden between the buildings just in the center of Zurich. You can eat or drink here it is very romantic

Beautiful place nestled in courtyard with garden. Extremely friendly, speedy and attentive staff (very rare in Zurich). We had a nice quiche and salad. Can highly recommend, especially on lovely sunny day like today.

A wonderful lunch in one of the most beautiful places in Zurich! I really enjoyed the Afghan dumplings and the Thai beef salad and the teenager ate the pasta of the day as a starter and then a steak sandwich and then, contrary to his nature, forewent the dessert...;-) Even though the shop was full When the tables were occupied, the service was friendly, attentive and very prompt at all times: compliments! Gladly again!

Located on a beautiful courtyard, well protected from the sun. Although almost all seats were full, you were warmly welcomed even without a reservation. Very good attentive service. I only regretted that I didn't try the bagel, I hope so next time. ;) But I would stick with the greenie juice, exactly mine: yummy

Nice bar/cafe/restaurant in the center of Zurich. The service is good and also this place is especially better in good weather because it has a nice garden with a view in a beautiful fountain. The prices are normal downtown Zurich prices and also the service is good and the staff is always welcoming and polite. Graf place to enjoy your coffee for a weekend! Recommended!

I've been to "milchbar" about 3 times already. The drinks are good and the food is tasty. But there is one waitress every time - I don't understand what her problem is but this woman is 1. passive aggressive 2. gives judgy looks 3. doesn't even pick up the orders correctly. I really don't unterstand in what way she's qualified for working there. Very disappointing!

Nice little hidden coffee in Zürich Downtown.

Great location and friendly staff but avoid the milchbar burger at all cost. Overall the rest of the dishes looked good (and probably tasted good) but the burger shouldn’t be on the menu. The bun is a toasted pita bread impossible to cut and most importantly the burger is at best frozen made by unidentifiable meat with a bad taste. Quite disappointing as the quality of the burger doesn’t justify its price and shouldn’t be on the menu in the first place.

Very friendly staff, beautiful location - garden in the middle of the city. Unfortunately we are disappointed with the food - avocado toast with eggs and bacon was plain without any sauce (hollandaise for example), without herbs and veggies on the side. Shakshuka was too watery (tomatoes not properly reduced) and not seasoned at all - not even use salt and pepper. Orange juice was low quality, coffee was ok. Nice place for a drink or coffee but food should be improved because place has a big potential.

Sorry but there are only two stars for the beautiful location. Mega nice place with the fountain and the chairs all around but the service is bad. Slow service, coffee arrived after 30 minutes and then still lukewarm and not particularly friendly...a shame

Nice place, small, but with many outdoor tables (in winter blankets are provided to stay warm). A little hidden but not difficult to reach. In the center of Zurich, Paradeplatz, reachable on foot in 10 minutes or 2 tram stops from Zurich main station. Ideal for an aperitif or a coffee. The environment is beautiful.

The place is nice, I liked a lot the fact that they have a lot of lights outside. Nevertheless, the food is over price, the portions are way too small besides food also taste average. Drinks are good.

All day brunch on the weekend and the charming courtyard setting makes this a standout place for us! If only they would hire more wait staff it would be a 5 star experience. The few people they have are so frazzled it is hard to fault them for the service. Management needs more staff otherwise whatever they are trying to save in terms of money, they will lose more in customers. We do keep going back because the menu is great (I love the bagel plate and the falafel plate) and they are really nice, just overworked.

Unfortunately, the cocoa was quite watery, but the kombucha was very tasty.

Sadly not a good experience. They were notably understaffed, which lead to cold coffee, missing food from the order and a generally long waiting time. I‘ve heard great stuff about the place, the food was good, but the experience not. Would not recommend as of now.

Exactly 1 hour and 10 minutes after I ordered the burger, they came and said "sorry, the burger is out." We told them to cancel the order. On top of this, they also asked for money for the glass of water they brought. Disgrace.
