Sitting here in the restaurant now, doing a test on the service as he started so slow. Now 50 minutes after he took our dishes, waiter hasn’t come back once…..An hour without food or water on a quiet Monday night. Let’s see how many hours till he asks if we need anything. Place your bets everybody … UPDATE 1 hour 20 minutes…still not a word from any staff UPDATE 1 hour 30 and couldn’t wait any longer, went and asked them for the bill

After having our main courses and a bottle of wine we waited for over an hour and a half to be offered a dessert or something else to drink (our glasses and bottle were empty). We noticed that the waiter would not service unless asked to do so so we decided to just wait and see how long would it take for him to come to us and offer us to continue our dinner with a dessert, more wine, water, coffee, anything! After over an hour and a half of waiting with no wine no water or anything on the table we got tired of waiting and decided to ask for the the bill even if we would have purchased more wine, desserts, coffee and mineral water. It is a pity that the service is so bad because The food and location are not too bad. It wasn’t even busy with just 4, then 3, then 2 other tables occupied. We wondered whether we should be the last people in the restaurant to be offered anything else but we decided that it was enough and we will try to get the bill. We have never experienced such a careless service or actually lack of it.

Everything was fine. I just don't like today's image of well-groomed. I feel very uncomfortable with these over-made-up people. Balloon lips, mask on the face without facial expressions and eyes taped shut...

I had a quick bite for lunch here - a pizza. The food was very fresh and tasty. The pizza dough was very good also. The chilli oil that was served to accompany the food was excellent. I look forward going back again to sample more of the menu, including their pasta dishes which looked excellent.

As always on December 24th we eat in a restaurant. Nice atmosphere, nice staff. This year everything was very good again, my lasagna was only half a portion compared to previous years. Way too small for the price. We were a group of 5 people and everyone thought this portion was too small without me saying anything.

The best pizza in Basel I've been there several times and that wasn't the last time on a Tuesday evening. It was well attended

The pizza was very good, the spaghetti was a disaster, the bacon was hard, the sauce was just dry and the prices were an even bigger disaster, never again thank you.

The employees there don't speak good German and I've experienced misunderstandings several times. Also, we weren't allowed to sit where we felt comfortable, they told us where to sit. There were also long waiting times.

I spontaneously went with an old friend. Restaurant was occupied by about 7 people. We ordered at 5:40 p.m. 2 pizzas and a caprese salad (absolutely nothing to the eye). We were served by a young girl. I got a piece of mozzarella with several cherry tomatoes. Hardly any sauce, hardly any spices, hardly any taste. Salad arrived at 6pm (20 mins for a very simple caprese salad). People kept coming in and the restaurant slowly filled up. After 10 minutes I was finished at 6:10 p.m. At around 6:25 p.m. my salad plate was cleared away. He asked us what we were getting. He didn't even know. Other people who clearly came after us got their pizzas. Slowly but surely I started to think about it. Have they forgotten us? It can only be that. Restaurant wasn't full, hardly any stress and people who came after us already got their pizzas. I was buzzing😠. 6:40 p.m. and we still hadn't gotten any pizza. I had to get up and get dressed. Had to pay and get out of here quickly. At 6:50 p.m. he came and asked us why we were leaving. The pizzas are in the oven and are ready in 3 minutes. Still paid for the drinks and left quickly. Conclusion, we had to wait 1 hour and 10 minutes for two very simple pizzas. According to my circle of friends, it is apparently well known that you have to wait a long time for your food NEVER AGAIN.

The food was amazing, we were NEVER disappointed at Ristorante Molino. Very friendly and customer-oriented staff, the kitchen also responds to individual requests or small changes to the dish! Really great, we look forward to the next dinner!

Very nicely done restaurant, food was good, but the service was very slack from the boss to the employee. I was there for 3/4 hours without being able to drink something. I didn't even ask. That would be a point where you can do a lot with little effort and give even more plus points would because they are already friendly

Ordered food at 11 a.m., only received half of it at 12:15 p.m.... you are told on the phone that you can no longer deliver it and have to order again.. Impudence... never again Molino!

The statement once and never again hits the spot. The restaurant doesn't make much of an effort and is out to rip off the masses. Anyone who eats at a real Italian restaurant will quickly notice everything that doesn't fit here and is totally overpriced. The following examples: A Pizza Margeritha costs 18.- CHF, if you want a prsciutto you add another 7.- CHF on top of the 18.- CHF. You then get a pizza in which the cheese is saved and the consistency is like a pizza that you eat on Warm up in the microwave the next day. Gummy soft edge combined with practically zero taste. Three out of four wine glasses were full of lipstick from the previous visitors 🤢🤮 the waiter poured the wine anyway. When we complained about this, new glasses were brought in and we claimed that this could happen and that it wasn't a big deal, as they had been cleaned. With the shrimp risotto you got exactly one shrimp halved (not a really big one) and a lemon rice, which went off after a few bites because no risotto rice was used, there was too much lemon in it and you searched in vain for the special taste in the mush The whole thing for a whopping 30 CHF. The panacotta was measly and covered in a leathery chocolate sauce that you had to put aside on the plate (wonder how old that thing was). The evening for four people came with a non-special wine (a whopping 70 CHF for a 14 CHF wine), two pizzas, risotto, another menu and two starters, drinks (1 5dl water, 4 cokes and two coffees). at an impressive 290.- CHF. For a small amount more you could have eaten in the higher class in Little Italy with a much better standard! I can't recommend the restaurant to anyone given the price and the careless waiters. None of us will set foot in there anymore and tell our friends about it as a warning.

I was here recently. As usual, the food at Molino was great and despite the restaurant being full, we were served very quickly. Kudos to the waiter with the curly hair who contributed to our pleasant evening. I would come again!

Wanted to eat a calzone pizza. I received a quatro stazzione simply closed and without an egg. The bottom side was just soft (that's just how it was). We had a voucher. And we were then ignored and not treated kindly. A pity

Great food and very nice decorated place, but in the summer they didn’t have any air conditioning and we had to eat in 30+ degrees, too hot to enjoy a meal.

They make gluten-free pasta (RUMO brand) with a supplement of €2. The staff know how to make the pasta and sauce to make it 100% gluten free. There are other gluten-free dishes on the menu. On this side everything is correct. As for the quality of the food, the pasta is on point, but nothing spectacular for the price you pay (the same comment applies to the pasta with gluten). Also, I ordered “frutti di mare” sauce and the mussels and clams had grit. The right service.

I chose the option, namely the seafood pasta. Extremely disappointing, the ingredients certainly come from a ready-made frozen preparation. I'm not a big eater, but the portion was more for a child than for an adult and what's more, at an exorbitant price. It was very bland, barely warm and nothing “homemade” prepared. A few small cubes of very hard tuna with sesame seeds, pieces of dry langoustines and tiny slices of squid. I cook better at home for much less money.

Yesterday at 3pm I came to eat at the restaurant for a pizza, I found a very rude waitress, I returned in the evening with my mother to clarify this matter with the manager and he kindly didn't want to listen to us because he didn't know the events that happened at 3pm , and not only did we order dessert in the evening and he didn't want to serve us, THE PROFESSIONALISM IS TOO LOW.

This was the worst Pizza and Carbonara that we have ever had, it is bad enough to put Cream in a Carbonara but to put Rahmsauce with Mushrooms in it is just wrong in every way and should be punished. Pizza should not be dry and plain with a single Basel leaf on it.

Unfortunately our visit was very disappointing. The bruschetta was one of the best we've had so far, but the main courses were very disappointing. There was little to no parmesan in the risotto, and the cheeseless pizza was missing the chickpeas that were supposed to be on it. When we reported this, cold canned chickpeas were simply added on top. All in all, there are better restaurants nearby.

I was there with 9 guests and decided on a “Menu Tavolata Pasta” Fr.49.- per person, what was served was just embarrassing.

The Ristorante Pizzeria is an excellent restaurant that I can recommend to everyone. The ambience is cozy and inviting, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The selection of pizzas and other Italian dishes is large and the quality of the food is excellent. The pizza is baked to perfection, with fresh ingredients and a delicious dough. The pasta dishes are also very tasty and prepared with a lot of care. The prices are reasonable and the price-performance ratio is right. Overall, Ristorante Pizzeria offers a wonderful dining experience and I will definitely be returning.

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and a terrace in the Steinenvorstadt. The service was friendly and attentive. Warm cuisine is offered throughout. There are also menus at lunchtime. There is pizza, pasta and much more as well as desserts. We enjoyed all the dishes very much.

We spontaneously had dinner here with the family on Ascension Day. We got a seat easily and were served very friendly. The food deserves special praise. From the pizza to the burrata with ham, everything was delicious!

From the very beginning, The greeting was superb and she was very friendly, attentive and polite. Rarely am i ever so surprised by the quality of the food or staff but this restaurant has knocked every single criteria out of the park. Nanthawan has been the best server i have ever met and i have traveled all over the world. All the other waiters also are good and attentive. The pizza dough was perfectly seasoned, flavorful and cooked to just the right consistency. The wine we have chosen was delicious and a perfect pairing for the food, the salad and bread sticks were phenominal. All in all, this resteraunt is well worth the price and the time to try

Price-performance is no longer right! Vitello tonnato for 34 CHF. Imagine... a very thin layer of tuna sauce on a small plate and on top of that 8 even thinner slices of meat. Luckily the pizza bread was a discretion! And what does the starter for 16 Chf look like? A pity.

We sat at the table and waited for the service. New guests kept coming after us and were served before us. Had to draw attention to us several times. For the main course we ordered Vitello Tonnato and a salad with mozzarella and chicken. The portions are too small for many people. The Vitello was much dry and lean. The salad was bland. We paid a horrendous price. A little over 80 chf for the two dishes and a drink each. Price performance wasn't right at all. Nevertheless, the waiter got some tip. Probably wasn't enough, because a thank you wasn't returned. We got up hungry and agreed that we would never eat here again.

Second time eating here. Very good food and service. Have an option to order a gluten free pasta!! (Delicious). Recommend.

Traditional real fire oven thi crust pizza with so many choices. Definitely one of the best I have had in a long time compared with the usual "big box pizza" places.

The food was excellent and the service was very friendly! There were drawbacks in the rating because we had to wait an hour for the food despite having a reservation. Sorry, that was definitely too long!

My daughter & her friends had dinner yesterday and were treated really badly by the staff and with disrespect. Among several mistakes, although they asked for small portions, they were served the large portions (without realizing) and the waiter insisted that they should pay the large portion price and sarcastically accused them of not having enough money. Terrible and unacceptable behavior - never again.

I had dinner yesterday at around 8:00 p.m. the food was good but the waiters had no idea how to serve it was very bad I first got the wrong plate and then there was an Arabic waiter who spoke to us in a different language every time thought he'd never want to fool us again, thank you.

Not a nice location but the restaurant has flair. I once found the food tasty but there were too many fluctuations towards 'that's how it works'. The staff are friendly but very slow and it makes no difference whether there are many or just a few guests. In terms of furnishings, it's probably one of the most beautiful pizzerias in Basel. Nevertheless, there are currently no more than 3 stars. With more flair in the service and fewer fluctuations in quality, 4 and 5 stars are not out of reach.

We ordered 2 pizzas and 6 pasta dishes. All of the dishes were very well cooked and tasty! The carbonara was among the best we've tried! Impressive wine menu too.

I live in Basel and I remember pizzeria Molino being a nice place to eat... BUT NOT ANYMORE ! High prices and low quality. WHEN YOU PAY CHF 33 FOR A CARBONIZED PIZZA IT'S MORE THAN JUST SHAME! Make you notice to the waiter not even an excuse. I am sorry I can't publish a PHOTO of THE CARBONIZED PIZZA SO EVERYONE CAN JUDGE ON THEIR OWN . There's another pizzeria just across the street at half price and plenty of choice in Basel. MOLINO PIZZERIA BASEL... NEVER AGAIN!!!!

As a long-time Molino customer because of Molino's great quality, unfortunately very disappointed today. I ordered 2 San Daniele pizzas home for myself and my daughter today, pizzas were burnt, completely shaped and cold. Separate Parma ham wasn't even enough for a pizza. I don't know this from Molino and we eat at Molino once or twice a month. We may have to find a new restaurant if Molino's quality drops like this. Very unfortunate

A good Italian restaurant right in the center of Basel, the food is good and it is very quiet. The waiter was very friendly and kind. Prices a little high but being in Switzerland I think it's normal.

I had a calzone here with homemade porcini mushroom cream and tried a piece of pizza from my companion and was so in love that I told everyone about the food for the next two weeks and just wanted to eat pizza from here again. (Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the pizza) Although the restaurant was very full, we felt really comfortable and hardly had to wait for food or drinks. The service was very friendly and interested, without seeming intrusive. From the outside it looks relatively small, but the restaurant goes very far back and even had several floors. The seating was relatively tight, but it didn't bother me or my companion, nor did it seem to affect the image of the restaurant in the slightest. Molino may not be the cheapest restaurant, BUT for the quality of the food, the location and everything else, the price is more than justified and doesn't seem that expensive at all. Conclusion: Definitely again!

Food was good and I can recommend it, but on December 31st, 2022 it was a bit understaffed and the wait was long for desert. Still recommendable 👍

We waited 1hr and 15 min to bring a pizza and an escalope. And was too pricey for what you receive.

The dinner on December 28th, 2022 was a big disappointment: some unprofessional staff, vegetarian pizza came with almost no vegetables despite explicitly ordering lots of vegetables (CHF 23), the Bella Italia pasta was hard and with little sauce, anything but Bella (CHF 31), Apéro Americano incredibly expensive (CHF 15), one pizza too much on the bill (unfortunately overlooked). For 4 people we came to just under CHF 300, without dessert and with little wine. We appreciate the Molinos in various cities, but in Basel the Molino is anything but recommended, it's an imposition!

Good service, we had a girl called Maria who was very courteous and also good at giving us advice. We took an appetizer to share, the quality of the cured meats was excellent although I think that for 20fr the quantity was really paltry. First I had the pizza: I have to say that it's not the standard of pizza I'm used to eating but still good, For dessert I had the excellent tiramisu.

Fantastic service and food! We came here with two hungry but fussy kids. The staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Great kids menu with 12CHF mains. Plain pasta for one with sauce on the side. Pizza for the other, light on the cheese. The pizza came in a bunny shape much to my child’s delight. Both meals were polished off. The staff charged my phone for me and mummy and daddy had wine, burrata, and nibbles as the kids coloured in with the pencils and pizza pictures provided. Everyone left exceptionally happy. The house wine was delicious. Can’t fault the whole experience. Will return!
