Café Mühlebach is located a little away from the busy streets in the popular Seefeld district. I can't judge what the ambience is like inside because I ate outside. No big frills, but you could enjoy the peace and quiet. The service was very friendly. I decided on one of the lunch menus available: chicken cordon bleu with boiled potatoes and salad. I was able to easily replace the potatoes with rice. The small side salad consisted of iceberg lettuce soaked in sour vinegar with a few decorative grated carrots and a slice of cucumber. That was sobering in terms of taste and appearance. This was followed by the main course, which unfortunately wasn't an upgrade. The cordon bleu consisted of molded meat with melted cheese covered in a hard breadcrumb crust. I didn't have to guess for long: it definitely wasn't home-cooked. The rice tasted like it came from a bag: bland and dreary. There were also a few slices of carrots with butter. The whole thing cost around 25 CHF. In terms of level, it was massively overpriced canteen food. I understand that nowadays people resort to convenient food, also for saving purposes. Especially when the selection on the menu is so large that it cannot be managed without industrial help. The owner would be better off limiting herself to a small but fine selection of dishes, but then preparing them with dedication and skill - if this is even possible. So I don't recommend Mühlenbach as a restaurant. But I understand that it is definitely valuable as a neighborhood restaurant.

The cafe is getting old. The pretzel was very tasty. Unfortunately the espresso was undrinkable. Service is very friendly.

I asked politely if I could use the toilet for a moment. “For a few cents” I could go. After I said that unfortunately I didn't have any cash with me, I could have paid 2 chf by card. Even saying that I was pregnant didn't help and I went somewhere else. It's never happened to me either. Simply unfriendly.

Always a pleasure to go there: A calm and relaxed atmosphere, somehow frozen in time with a nice Swiss and Portuguese mix. Great coffees and food. Scrambled egg toast, bircher muesli and pastel de nata highly recommended. Staff always friendly and the same people for years already.

A wonderful café for any time of day, away from the hustle and bustle and noise, warm service and warmly prepared food using wonderful ingredients. My favorite time is the morning, when I enter it smells of freshly baked and fine coffee, everyone immersed in newspapers, me with my notebook, an oasis in the Seefeld district!

You feel like you're in a prison cafeteria. For me, Café Mühlebach used to be a place where I felt at home. The former owner had charm, always had an open ear and the staff was incredibly friendly. After the change of operator, only the furniture is left. The menu and the offerings have no spirit. The breakfast is reminiscent of a catering establishment from Russian socialism. The coffee is supposedly from Stoll, but tastes like the cheapest beans from a discount store. We ordered an omelet. The dish came out bland without any charm. At some point you were served a dry slice of bread. After I asked for some butter, I was disapprovingly handed a 10 gram portion. This was then shown on the invoice as 1.40 CHF. This corresponds to a portion price of 35 CHF per half pound. It simply left me speechless. Anyone who punishes their customers with so little understanding of service and behaves so uncharmingly cannot even be rewarded with one star.

This place couldn't be better. The prices of some things are too high, like the juices, sparkling water, a few of the dishes, but others are generous, and the quality of everything is top. Quiches are excellent, so are salads, pasta dishes, and the breakfast eggs. Service is top. Comfort is fabulous, it's such a dignified and cozy environment at the same time.

Well serviced and not too expensive

Café with good small dishes. We had ham and cheese toast with fried eggs and white sausages. Both are very tasty and the service is quick and friendly.

We have been coming to Café Mühlebach since the birth of our first grandchild, Silvan. He is now 2 1/2 years old and is always very happy when he can go there for breakfast with his grandparents. He loves his croissant and the cup of milk foam and we love the friendly and very warm service and the good coffee. Silvan enthusiastically brings his grandpa a few newspapers from the large selection. On his last visit he was welcomed as a regular guest. Meanwhile Liam, grandson number 2 and 8 weeks old, was also there. Whenever we (from Frankfurt am Main) are in Zurich, a visit to Café Mühlebach is definitely part of the program😊

Small selection but very good cuisine and nice staff

Nice place for a lunch, very atmospheric. There are special offers or you can choose from the menu. The portions are good and the process are OK for Zürich.
