My absolute favorite Asian restaurant! Here you order spicy, and it comes to the table really spicy! Special requests are taken into account and the food is served fresh and hot in generous portions.

Very friendly and fast service. It takes less than 15 minutes between ordering and receiving the food. Very large portions. The neighbors at the table also looked like there was a lot of food on their plates. I had soup with duck. It was tasty but not really spicy as marked in the menu. My partner had Pho and was also satisfied. Kitchen open relatively late.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Vietnamese restaurant and it was an exceptional experience. The food was not only delicious but also authentically prepared, taking my taste buds on a culinary journey through Vietnam. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, which made the atmosphere even more pleasant. An absolute must for anyone who wants to enjoy exquisite Vietnamese cuisine in a warm environment!

Unlike last year, the amount of rice noodles was small and the broth was too salty.

It was worth going despite the cold wind. Wheat beer and spring rolls went perfectly together, and the rice noodles were delicious.

Our flight was cancelled so we had another night in Basel and we decided to try this place and it was amazing. Highly recommend if you like flavorful food. Will definitely come again when I’m in Basel again.

My favorite Asian restaurant in Basel! Their duck rice is so delicious I am craving for it almost every week. Lunch time can be busy and crowded and I would suggest to arrive before noon. The price is fairly reasonable and you can also order food to go. Other than the highly recommended duck rice, pho is also pretty tasty 😋

I tried to order rice noodles with soup, but I mistakenly ordered fried noodles... However, the food had great taste, quantity, and ingredients (they recommended spicy sauce, so I enjoyed it), and the staff were friendly even though they were busy. The atmosphere was so nice.

Delicious food with good service.

A total surprise. I had the crispy duck with orange sauce my wife had a green vegetable cury. Both meals were delicious. The came out hot with just the right amount of spice.

I stopped by for lunch before the train to Basel. It took about 5 minutes from the station and there was plenty of space between seats, so it was good to leave suitcases. I ate a lot of greasy food, so I was craving pho soup, but there was no pho on the lunch menu, so I inquired, and after asking the kitchen, I was able to order pho soup. I ordered it without the cilantro! Please note that the soup has a subtle coriander flavor as a base! In addition, I ordered a chicken and vegetable bowl called dui ga chin, and it was delicious with crispy chicken, salty sauce, and rice. (+ It was nice that water was included in the menu) I don't often leave reviews, but I'm so satisfied! Hahaha

Wow just awesome! As a starter I had spring rolls with a sweet-sour sauce and they were simply fantastic, both the chicken and vegetarian versions tasted great. For the main course there was a good selection of inexpensive lunch menus, all of which looked very good. I took the curry duck and it was great👍, the meat was very high quality and juicy. The curry sauce is on point. I also had a homemade lime iced tea, which tasted extremely good and fresh. The service was very friendly and extremely attentive. I can 100% recommend this restaurant to everyone, it is definitely worth a visit and I will definitely visit it again. Thank you very much for this wonderful taste experience.

Ordered the fried chicken with rice and vegetables and was pleasantly surprised at how big the portion was. I was totally satisfied after my meal. The chicken was flavorful, the veg was crunchy and the plum sauce brought it all together wonderfully with the rice. Would definitely recommend eating here!

The best Vietnamese cuisine in Basel and Baselland!

We ordered three vegetarian entrees. Good portion size but taste was mediocre. Red curry was good. Dish with tofu and veggies was too salty. Noodles with tofu and veggie was ok.

Wonderful Vietnamese dishes! For starters we had Banh Xeo (crispy pancake with bean sprouts, spring onions, prawns and pork) and Nom Du Du (papaya salad) and for main course we had Bun Cha (rice noodles with pork) and Vit Chien (crispy duck with oyster sauce). The quantities are very generous, the food is very tasty and the service staff is friendly and accommodating. We would like to come again!

Inconspicuous, family restaurant with authentic Vietnamese cuisine and very friendly staff. There are generous portions at moderate prices here. Here I got to know the traditional appetizer Banh Xeo (see picture), a fried pancake filled with chicken and shrimps - very, very tasty!! 🤤 Will definitely come back! 🤩

It was easy to get a table on Saturday evening without a reservation. Service was good, quick and friendly as you would expect. For starters I had summer rolls with shrimps and for the main course I had Bún bò Huế. The food was tasty, although the spiciness of the soup was unfortunately not quite up to the original or was adapted to the local palate. As a Vietnamese person, I help myself with some additional chillies. Mum's Kitchen is a good place for some well-known Vietnamese dishes and Asian friendliness, although at first glance the name doesn't exactly suggest Asian food. However, I would like to come back.

The staff were super friendly and very helpful and very accommodating... I had great advice... So I got a great dish... The food was very tasty... I had spring rolls as a starter and I wish there was one more on the plate... The main course was great and the portion sizes were good too... Price performance is okay... The restaurant is easy to reach by public transport, there is a stop right in front of the entrance... From Basel SBB train station you can reach the restaurant in about five minutes...

The food was great, the drinks were very good, finally "full Aperols" not always just half a glass as we usually know. The portions were too big for me personally, but if you leave out the rice it fits. I think for someone who likes to eat, you can get enough here. The service was typically Asian, friendly but not intrusive. Everything was ok in terms of price, Basel isn't super cheap anywhere. All in all, we'd love to come back, stay that way...

Yesterday we had a birthday dinner at Mum's Kitchen with about 30 people. The food was fantastic, everyone could eat at the same time and the service was also very organized for so many people (and there were “other” guests in the restaurant too!). In the end, the price was right for everything. Thank you for the lovely evening. LG Avid Addendum - for me PERSONALLY and also for my almost 95 year old grandmother, mums kitchen is no longer as good as it once was and the staff is often unfriendly. No plan why all of a sudden. A pity

I was in the area and wanted to try some Vietnamese dishes. I wasn't disappointed. Very nice hostess who goes out of her way to explain everything to you. The food was very good and not that spicy. What's special here is that you get a lunch menu with mineral water for CHF 20. The rice is included and does not have to be paid extra.

Small restaurant with an authentic, clear menu. I had a duck noodle soup that was marked as spicy. Unfortunately, I didn't notice any of the spiciness and ordered chili oil with it. Maybe the spiciness is adapted to Swiss habits :) Otherwise, the taste and portions are great! The condition was friendly and attentive.

The food was fresh and good, nothing more. It had enough spiciness, otherwise it was a bit bland, not enough salt (fried tofu with vegetables). Main course carelessly prepared. The rice was rather dry and extremely soggy. As a starter I had a papaya salad, but I didn't see any papaya in it. The quantities were a bit too large. To drink I had the house tea with lemon, which was too expensive for what it offered (around 6 Fr. For around 3dl., it was more like sugar water with crushed lemon wedges.

I love Mum's Kitchen. The cuisine is first class and offers a wide selection of delicious dishes. My absolute favorite for lunch is the Dui Ga Chien with an extra portion of rice, it's simply delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend Mum's Kitchen to anyone looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine. See you soon

Just want to find a non western restaurant to have dinner after arriving Basel. The restaurant provided Asian food, which were quite delicious. The atmosphere was warm and the staff were nice. However, it may not be your choice if you want to have quick meal.

4.5 stars. Amazing customer service! I would recommend the Viet Coffee & the Saigon Beer. For the bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup) the only thing that was stopping me from giving it 5 stars is that the broth did not have enough beef flavour to it & the beef portioning was quite small. Other than that, everything was delicious!

It's very bad that you couldn't make a reservation for 2 people by phone, but as I've read in other reviews, it's still possible somehow. And on your website there is nothing about you can only reserve for 5 people, only reservation and the telephone number, that would perhaps be informative as there is little space. Her answer was cheeky, hence this review. This has nothing to do with damage, just facts.

We booked a table for 2 and we’re promptly seated when we arrived at 7pm. By 7.10 we had placed our orders for a starter and main and drinks. The starter took nearly an hour to arrive despite repeated reminders we had been waiting. When they did arrive I told the waiter to ask the kitchen to prepare our mains and bring them out straight away. We waited another 35 minutes. Meanwhile 2 tables arrived after us, got served their food, paid and left. On the plus side the food was delicious. But the service (from the kitchen) was appalling.

Duck dish finely prepared... Squid maximum 80 grams but more than plenty of vegetables in soy sauce floating. As head chef, I had to complain.

I often had dinner at Mums Kithchen with the whole team. They have a separate room for families with children or birthday parties. Here you can be loud and undisturbed. the food tastes very good, my favorite dish is roasted duck and roasted veal with lemongrass. Beef salad is also a must. We always enjoy coming back

Wow They made a regular soup in an extra big size for me, because I only eat vegan. And it was delicious. I could barely finish it since It was so filling, but tried my best because it was so tasty. Great service. Highly recommended.
