Apart from the food, you are in good hands here. The service is friendly and you are valued. The food is really very good. Highly Recommended.

The coffee was very tasty. The service was very friendly. Only the stairs to the toilet were not suitable for disabled people. Because I have a walking disability. Will visit the coffee shop when it gets warmer.

We now come here quite often and enjoy it. The food is really really good. The absolute favorite is the Tüfeli Cordon Bleu!

In my opinion, the Tüfeli Cordon Bleu is the best thing I have ever eaten.

Decent coffee and bakery place, with a nice view on the river from the small terrace... but a really slow and disorganized service.

Great service, the food is simply great. Chnobli Cordon Bleu with fries, SENSATIONAL!! The pizzas are also top notch. All thumbs up and 5 stars. We only give up when we have read the entire map.

Last night we were at the Nachtwächter restaurant with 25 people and it was fantastic! The food was delicious, from the starter plate to the dessert. The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming as our table was even decorated. It was a successful evening all around and we had a great time. I can definitely recommend the “Nachtwächter” restaurant!

There is 1 star for the excellent service by the nice lady with the tattoos. I give the 2nd star for the location directly on the Rhine and the beautiful table in a quiet niche. Big disappointment with the food. Apart from the fresh, generously portioned and delicious tiramisú, the pork cordon bleu was not fresh and lost a lot of water when pressed and cut. This shows that it was previously frozen. The noodles served as a side dish were also warmed in the frying pan. The brown, singed areas on the papardelle are evidence of this. (See photo) I don't know what the chef learned. But selling something like that for CHF 34 is cheeky. Unfortunately, the restaurants in Eglisau are also dying out, which is why the remaining inns probably don't have to make much effort anymore. And the tourists come anyway. But this is how local guests are put out of business. The short distance to Germany is certainly a worthwhile alternative. Unfortunately....!

The Nachtwächter restaurant is an absolute gem! The ambience is charming, the staff attentive and friendly. The menu offers first-class dishes for meat lovers and vegetarians. Every dish was expertly prepared and presented. The drink selection is impressive, and the homemade desserts are a real highlight. A must for gourmets and connoisseurs!

I can't rate the food because I didn't eat it

I was take dinner on this Restaurant and i get positivly suprised from service till food. Also couple of time i order pizza to home and it was fast delivery with good quality of food.

I haven't eaten so well in a long time! With a group of friends, we spontaneously went to the night watchman after swimming. We were not aware of this restaurant before. We were immediately greeted in an extremely friendly manner, so we immediately felt at home. The food was very tasty and fairly priced. I immediately tasted that the cordon bleu was freshly prepared. It wasn't just the food and the staff that impressed us, but also the beautiful view. What could be better than enjoying an excellent meal with friends on the terrace in great weather? We'll definitely be back!

True to the motto small but nice. The waitresses are very nice, the food is good and if the weather is right, you have a beautiful view of the Rhine. On February 1st, 2023 the café was reopened by the new owners, the first visit was good and a nice 👍 experience. We wish them good luck 🍀 and success.

Cozy local restaurant with two outdoor areas, a garden and a terrace with a great view. Nice personel. The food, schnitzel and also the spicy Cordon Blue were very good. Fries and salad also very tasty. Price performance still ok. Clean ambience, there is a café next to the restaurant.

Four of us ate there in the evening. Between the starter (various salads, beef tartare; it was ok) & we had to wait over an hour for the main course because home delivery and take away are given preferential treatment over restaurant guests. Additionally, the grilled chicken breast was not freshly grilled and the fresh pasta was warmed up. All in all a big disappointment.

The very best pizza in the area. I'm always surprised at how quickly you get served and the pizza. The taste is excellent and the night watchman offers a large selection.

Not friendly and very inflexible. We wanted to put two tables together so everyone could sit together. Unfortunately, this was not possible for some unknown reason. They didn't want to bring us extra mozzarella for the salad, even for money and good words. Service like in the darkest times of the GDR. Never again! An additional star for the relatively good food.

Had a double espresso for CHF 7.50 you can do it ;-) But it was definitely my last visit.

We stopped here on a Sunday after a hike. The restaurant was not overloaded, but unfortunately the service was a bit overwhelmed, which made us very sorry for them. But it does seem a bit negative when the service asks in a tormented manner that we should please take the drinks down from the full tray ourselves and we have to go to the checkout to pay because the bill was forgotten. The location with a view of the water is wonderful 👌🏼

Some local wine and a small rocket pizza in a post-session group with people who, like me, showed up to the session without dinner. From the pizza brochure advertisement, I expected a quick pizza snack bar to appear in every household, the kind you find increasingly everywhere instead of traditional restaurants, the only thing that is still open at this time during the week. But that Expectations were disappointed: no smell of grease, instead a clean restaurant, open terrace, friendly, attentive conditions, everyone in the group received what they wanted: solid pizza in exactly the size ordered and a recommended homemade penne, with pepperoni, pepper, which was soon fulfilled The air cried and something south appeared. At the end, the boss bought the coffee and said goodbye to everyone in the group at the door as they walked out. No wonder the local men's choir also comes there. Hospitable. I'll come back when I get the chance.

A very nice homely restaurant & café with a good selection and fair prices. We have been there several times in the past and will come again with the nice new innkeepers. Very, very nice service. I'd love to come back. I would like to give 5 x 5 stars.

A great view together with super fine food💥 we had the bruschetta starter and a cordon bleu and wiener schnitzel as the main course. Everything was really delicious. Above all, the food was delicious and the courier was really great! BUT If I order additional corn for my pizza and even pay for it, then I would like to have this on it, unfortunately it didn't happen that way, hence only the 3 stars.

From now on the pizza favorite in Eglisau. The pizzas arrived after 17 minutes. The courier very friendly. There were two cans of Coke for free. The pizzas were very tasty. Everything harmonized perfectly: the smooth dough, the cheese, the salsa and the corresponding ingredients. The veal on the Night Watchman pizza was absolutely tender. Thanks and keep it up.

When you look at the website you have different expectations. You see pancakes and bagels there, but they aren't available for breakfast? The waitress should also know what is on offer and what you can order. Maybe read the map yourself? Price-performance for the 'big breakfast' is okay. The view is beautiful of the Rhine. But you still don't have to go there again.

Great café with an attached mini bakery right at the “entrance” to Eglisau. At the entrance there is a cozy garden restaurant under large, shady trees. There is a small terrace facing the Rhine with a view over the river. Always a very good selection of lunch options.

Bad care! There was an American family that needed help and the cellar lady, who didn't speak English, was always asking me for help. On the sign that stood outside, she misspelled the word SANDWICH (Sendwisch). I showed her and she totally ignored me. In addition, you cannot pay by card! NEVER AGAIN!!!

Eglisau is effectively a trip who! The buildings are well maintained and... mostly very well preserved and interestingly written with information boards en concerning the purpose at the time or profession etc. to be assigned according to centuries! D he restaurant “der Nachrwãchter” can be recommended without any ifs and buts!
