Namamen in Basel

Very good ramen and gyoza. Always great, especially in winter. The beef ramen with soy is particularly recommended. Always happy to come back. Well located easy to find. Unfortunately the card reader didn't work the last time.

The worst ramen I’ve tried in my life. Tasteless noodles, bland bouillon and cold egg (simply boiled). Instant noodles from any Asian shop would have tasted better and cost 1/12 of the price.

A good place to get quick and friendly service. The selection of ramen bowls is manageable and tastes very good. There is a star deduction for the system with the invoice/receipt. You always have to do an extra round and specifically ask for the valid invoice. Otherwise you just have a pseudo calculation in your hand.

The food is really good and freshly prepared. The location is somewhat unusual and special The service isn't bad, but could be a bit more attentive. It was probably also the time of day and that there were only 2 employees in the restaurant.

The worst taste of ramen in my life... I paid 24.5 chf (38,000 won) and felt it tasted worse than the ramen I bought for 1 chf (1,000 won). Togarashi tastes like red pepper paste mixed in water. However, there were surprisingly many Swiss people, probably because their tongues were paralyzed. First of all, Koreans and Japanese should buy ramen at convenience stores!!

A place with a good atmosphere, located in the city center near the pedestrian mall. The food arrived hot and well cooked. The flavors are good and not particularly surprising. In total, lunch closes for you in the middle of the day or in the evening when it's very cold outside.

It is very tasty and I can only recommend it. I also think that the Basel area has a very good price-performance ratio! Of the restaurants where I was the best

We had 2 ramens (vegetarian and pork) - both of which didn’t taste like normal ramen and were challenging to eat. Eggs were not included in the base price. Very expensive for low quality food. The ramen was lovely! I had the Gyoza ramen with soy and my partner had beef ramen with miso. We enjoyed our experience and will visit again! And next time I will get pictures!

Very tasty soup, tasty gyozas, good service but the ambience of a well-cleaned bunker. Hang up a few pictures, put up plants or use bright colors.

Unfortunately, ramen had no taste. The soup was bland and not fresh. The vegetables too. The bamboo shoots tasted like they came from a can. Shame about the money.

The Ramen is bland and uninspiring, even though the Miso has a nice tanginess to it. But it stops right there. No complexity to the Miso. The noodles had a nice bite. The service was very inattentive. I can relate, when it’s hectic, which it was not. But they did warm the Dorayaki, which was nice. There are better places for Ramen in Basel for the same price, if not cheaper.

Good, but small and expensive portion for the quantity

The food at Namamen never disappoints 🥰 I've been through the entire menu and I'm thrilled every time 👍🏻ps. The summer offer with the Hiyashi Ramen Bentobox is also highly recommended.

The staff are friendly and the food tastes good. Unfortunately, the miso soup tastes a bit too salty for me.

We had sushi - different types, very very average taste and texture. Service was normal.

Lots of variety, very good food and good staff. 2 ramen with drink and dessert for 66 CHF. There were 3 varieties of mochi and a possibility of dorayaki.

As a ramen lover, you unfortunately don't have much choice in Basel, but the Namamen at the Bankverein is a place that I always like to return to. Cozy atmosphere, friendly and great staff. The ramen isn't a 10/10, but it's still delicious!! The broths are tasty, but somehow still a little “boring”. The ultimate “kick” is somewhat missing. The egg yolk would also like to be a little runnier. Otherwise great selection, toppings and side dishes. Overall, the price-performance ratio is absolutely top!

I came with high expectations according to the recommendation, but I was sorely disappointed. The ramen soup was not stock, but more like a perfectly normal miso soup - like water with a weak taste. I was hoping that there would be strong flavors like ramen should be, but it didn't happen. The noodles were delicious.

The restaurant closes at 10:00 p.m., impossible to take an order at 9:00 p.m., a sick friend absolutely had to go to the toilet, not accommodating at all, we had to run elsewhere... a shame especially since it's a restaurant we go to often

The ramen is as worse as one can get. This is NOT ramen. Otherwise, service and environment are good.

I eat here very often and can't fault it at all. The ramen is great, the service is very friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and inviting.

Came here on April, saved me from the rain and cold a couple of times. The portions are big, the ingredients tasty and they do not over complicate the dishes nor the menu. The tea is also great. The atmosphere was quiet and the service really good. Recommend!!

Both Ramens were good (Shoiu & Classical if i remember correctly) and the service was very fast. I appreciate that you can customise your Ramen according to your preference

It's the most disgusting noodle I‘ve eat ever. And very expensive price for just noodle in the water. I was very hungry and exciting with my mom to get in. We tried Nature Raman with Togarashi . when the raman deliver on my table. I shocked. It's not only looks like red water,but also taste like water . The Hot spiced miso soup taste like Korean Gochujang (Hot Pepper Paste) mix with water. If you want to have same raman soup . Just buy Gochujang and put in the water. An you will know how I feel. The real Japanese Raman should taste really richness and shouldn't looks like water. I am Asian and also tried real Japanese Raman before. and I loved it. We know how the real Raman taste like. I will never go there again. 😖😵‍💫🤢🤮😫

Nice, clean design - fits well in this location. Fast, friendly service. We didn't really like the food itself, but that's a very personal thing. It was definitely freshly prepared. And the fund itself was well done.

We ordered 3 dishes: 1x Ramen Seafood with soy soup, 1x Ramen Chashu with miso soup and 1x Ramen Beef with Togarashi soup. All were good. The food was fine.

We had sushi, gyoza and ramen. Unfortunately everything felt like it wasn't seasoned enough. At these prices I would have expected more. Staff was short and to the point, we had to wait a long time until they came and we could finally pay.

The ramen is very tasty and the staff is very friendly and attentive. There is a large selection, including various soups with udon or ramen, from seafood to vegan and vegetarian vegetable variants. You can also choose different toppings. The food is always made fresh and is served without a long wait. I can only recommend! Definitely worth a visit.

The service was very nice. The food was barely ordered and already served. However, the miso with ramen was a taste disaster. The miso soup was hardly seasoned, very stingy with the chicken meat in it (max. 50 g), in terms of quality it probably came from a worn-out laying hen. Also hardly any leek, spinach or other vegetables. Just some grated carrot. Some time ago your food was much better.

Actually everything is fine. Unfortunately there is a strong pull at the tables towards the door. Maybe a curtain or something similar would make sense here.

Small portion, average service, small and loud. However price matches the portion.

Here, too, as at the exhibition center, friendly and competent service. This helps with menu selection. Special requests are also taken into account. Had miso soup with gyoza. It was well seasoned, with little heat, but pleasant.

Very nice place, very tasty food very polite service

The service was nice and friendly. Nevertheless the ramen was not one of the best ones we ever ate. The noodles and insert were okay but the broth was as simply as it gets and didn't have enough/any flavour. Sadly we were very disappointed.

Good food but charging 8 francs for a can of beer is unreasonable. (Ordered the cheaper one for 6 francs and got the more expensive one!)

Delicious ramen with lots of choices. The portions are big too. The ramen and starters were really authentic. Service was prompt and quick! We were a big party of 7 without a reservation and they happily accommodated us. The staff are friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again!

Good quality and friendly service. It's quick until the food arrives but everything is still prepared fresh and live. Ramen and miso are super delicious. Good selection of Japanese tapas and main dishes as well as drinks. Restaurant has a good location and cool atmosphere.

A bit hidden in Basel, this ramen restaurant is quite good, the atmosphere is nice andthe service is friendly. The portions are a bit small don’t hesitate to take appetizers.

In my opinion, ramen was boring in terms of taste. The broth just needs more flavor. The eggs were cooked too long. The service was great. The restaurant was very full today (at the same time Fantasy Basel) but we were always served in a friendly and quick manner.

I think this is one of the best ramen shop for me, I had udon noodles with some broth, beef and squid and it was so good. But the one thing that bothered me was that everything was from Japan but the leek was not from Japan. And that’s all bye

My favorite miso ramen for years. Simply delicious! Always friendly and fast service. The only point of improvement: The bamboo strips are sometimes a bit tough/fibrous. I've had more tender ones elsewhere. Otherwise great and always worth a visit!

Unfortunately not that tasty (tasteful). Why you can't combine all pasta with all soups remains unclear. 2 starters came one after the other and not together. Sushi was dry.

The soups at Namamen are always a highlight for me. Very healthy, fresh and nutritious. The ramen soup with gyoza is one of my favorite meals. If I wasn't soy intolerant I would eat there much more often.

Unfortunately, I didn't like the food that much because there was no salt or other spices in the ramen. Unfortunately the taste was a bit boring. What was good, however, was that everything was freshly prepared and you could follow the preparation live. The service, on the other hand, was extremely slow.

Not authentic ramen at all. The noodles were clumped together and the egg was cold. Disappointed.

I cannot even cook and I can make WAY BETTER noodles than that. Suggest Chef adds some proper flavour to the broth ,a bit of shitakee could go a long way, spicing things up with some chive and sesame seeds as garnish - that just advice from a less-than-an-amateur, and if you ask a professional - he/she will really turn your dishes around. I got recommended a vegan dish - it had a half a boiled egg in it. We ordered some dumplings, it got completely forgotten. I'd be difficult to convince me to go back.

Too expensive, very mediocre in taste.

Actually a friendly reception, but the chef had no idea about his food when we asked him something. The voucher we wanted to redeem had only expired 2 days after we had been in lockdown for almost a year and it was no longer accepted. Certainly wouldn't come again.

Very basic ramen and pricey for what it was. . Plain, little ingredients in the soup, egg was hard boiled. All in all just a J-style soup but far from real ramen. Staff was friendly though.

Best noodles I have had in Europe so far, and it's not like I haven't tried to find one. Correct portion, really really tasty, high quality ingredients and good service as well. I am here for a short visit but I may go there one more time before leaving.

The place is mediocre. Average food in a hideous environment. The restaurant furniture and stained floor with the terrible lighting cause a feel that you are in the underground. If it is with a purpose then they succeeded. Considering the price and that there are 10-15 much better restaurants are around in the close area I can not suggest this place. If you want ramen go to a sushi place which is selling one. This is just a “fast food” version of it.

Authentic ramen is 3 things: the broth, the egg, and the chashu. Unfortunately, such simple standards in Japan are often missed abroad. Namamen fails on all 3, which to be honest is par for the course in Switzerland, even for a well reviewed ramen restaurant.

Decent bowl of ramen. Noodles were al dente and the broth hearty and wholesome.
