Arrogant and rude owner, incompetent staff and inedible and very expensive dishes. There is absolutely nothing about Italian cuisine... terrible experience...

One can argue about taste and kitsch. With such lavish decoration, it starts outside and is accentuated almost immeasurably in the restaurant itself. Restaurant empty, only a young and loud company at the table next door. We couldn't understand why we had to sit there. Starter Ravioli AlbLimone - very good. Main course meat prepared on the plate at the table. Excellent. The side dish: potatoes, carrots and fennel served carelessly and unimaginatively on a separate plate. Toilet/toilet and Brünneli only deserve one star. Rotten, calcified, defective. There would have to be some investment.

The place in incredible and unique. The food is really good and they have small menu. The boss is a bit crazy but he wants to do good, he will scream I think because he is deaf and has something in his ears so he doesn’t realize. Expect to wait because it’s super long so if you’re not in a rush and open you’ll like the experience of this place. We did it for my birthday and I had violin playing happy birthday to me

Unfortunately super chaotic... The food was ok, unfortunately there was very little choice. The boss tries to force and persuade you to eat. He is rude to the nice employee. Meat came without vegetables and we always had to ask for everything. One of my employees was constantly left out. Be it dessert, limo chello, prosecco. We have mentioned several times that there are 7 of us. They ran back and forth without being a team. Everything was so chaotic that you were happy to finally be able to leave. The only thing I thought was great was the furnishings. That's really a pity. Wouldn't go there again. Ps if you treat employees like that, you're on your own.

Good and interesting experience. Food was tasty, meat of very good quality, pasta with lobster was great, very fresh. There were many complementary things: bruschetta as appetizer, glass of prosecco, a bowl of tangerines after dinner and a limoncello! The interior looks fantastic, like a real museum. Downsides: the chef can be quite expressive and talkative which might disturb some people, service can be slow, the space is narrow and the oil from the grill drizzles around (can stain your clothes, chairs around and the floor), so one has to be careful. Anyway, we enjoyed this place, the atmosphere was as if you’re at somebody’s place in Italy (not perfect, but emotional and fun).

Let's put it this way: The restaurant is absolutely cult and you could say that you won't find anything comparable in Zurich. The boss is a fantastic guy but - chaos is in his blood - The food, you can argue about it but one thing is for sure, everything is made with love even if you have the feeling that chaos is inevitable here but whatever, you'll get through it The ambience compensates and sometimes surprises because, depending on the timing, the food on the plate is great. I can actually only recommend it - a gastronomic world that doesn't exist anywhere else - pure museum -

After more than three years, I finally made it back to Napoli today, with three colleagues in tow. As before, the food was simply excellent, whether it was pasta or meat. My favorite is still the homemade pasta with truffle sauce, not only extremely tasty but perfectly al dente. Not only was I thrilled again, but so were my colleagues who were there for the first time. The service was again extremely friendly and of course we couldn't get enough of the unique interior. In my opinion, you simply have to experience and taste the Napoli da Gerardo.

Everyone should know this restaurant! Let's be honest, the service is often chaotic and the restaurant could be bigger, but everything else is 100% correct. The food is an absolute dream, the location is simply special, unique and admirable. You put your heart and soul into it!

A very nice, valuable restaurant with very good food.

I was truly speechless by my experience at Ristorante Napoli. The most unique place in Zurich. 5 stars for the atmosphere are not enough! The owner is very sociable and caring of the clients, with his suggestions and jokes. Not to mention how generous he was, offering to us prosecco, bruschetta, fruit and limoncello for free. The food was unbelievable and the vibe was magic. The prices are more or less expected for Zurich and reasonable for the whole experience that the place offers. I don't post videos of the place to not spoil it, but I highly recommend it!!

Living next to this restaurant has been quite an experience, and unfortunately, not a pleasant one. The constant sounds of the owner yelling at the staff have created a disruptive and uncomfortable environment for us as neighbors. More concerning, however, is our genuine worry for the well-being of the restaurant's staff. Witnessing such treatment raises serious questions about the working conditions within the establishment. We firmly believe that no one deserves to be subjected to such harsh treatment, especially in the workplace. While we understand that running a restaurant can be demanding, it's essential to treat employees with respect and care. We hope that the owner recognizes the importance of a healthy work environment and makes the necessary changes to ensure the well-being of their staff. Everyone deserves to work in a place where they are treated with dignity and respect.

Why is it the owner who comes at your table if you want the bill? He gets your tips although there was another waitress or waiter who served your dinner. Why? Because he keeps it... for himself.

Overall a nice experience, the person serving us was probably the owner himself and told us that the restaurant is over 80 years old. Service: we were very happy with the service as they served complimentary drinks with very tasty Bruschetta and after our order they also served complimentary Watermelon slices which was really thoughtful and nice. I haven’t seen any restaurant doing such things for their guest.❤️ Service: service was also quick and nice, cannot comment with a full house as when we went there we were the only ones. 🤗 Ambiance: It’s something that I didn’t enjoy. The place is small and the interior is filled with vintage decor, not just the floor but the walls were packed with big frames etc. being an interior appreciator myself I cannot stand such chaos and start feeling claustrophobic and I am not that in personal life. So we decided to sit outside which was much better. Cutlery was dirty but I think that was real silver and it tends to get dirty if not cleaned in a certain way. But still didn’t felt good in eating with those. If you’re a person who likes Vintage and cluttered (closely packed) spaces then you’ll enjoy it.

We were lucky that the restaurant wasn't very busy. The food was served quickly and the boss served us very nicely. A small Prosecco, fine warm bruschetta, a limoncello and watermelon wedges were offered by the boss. Very very generous. We ordered different dishes and shared them between the four of us, which wasn't a problem. We constantly received new dishes. The food was very tasty, first two plates of pasta and then two plates of meat/fish. He was also very accommodating to us when it came to the price. Simply great! We had a lovely evening and would love to come back.

We were passing through and were thirsty for food and drink. On a normal Tuesday evening at 11:30 p.m. our concerns were heard in this excellent tavern! We give it 12 out of 10 points! Wonderful hospitality, excellent food and a great experience. We will be back!

I had the pleasure of visiting the Napoli restaurant in Zurich District 3 and I have to say, it was simply amazing! This restaurant far exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it. The food was literally out of this world. As a hungry guest, I arrived at 12:30, just 30 minutes before closing time, and was amazed at how the staff conjured up a delicious meal for me. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in the preparation were definitely reflected in every bite. It was a real treat! The atmosphere in the Napoli restaurant was warm and inviting. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, and the service was excellent. They really cared about making me feel comfortable and valued as a guest. This is definitely a plus for the restaurant. All in all, I give Restaurant Napoli five stars because it is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Zurich District 3. If you are looking for an exceptional culinary experience, you should definitely stop by. You will not regret it! Unique Italian restaurant - you’ll feel like in a Barock church here. Outstanding food and Goff value for money prices. Try the “Tagliata di Manzo”, which will be prepared at your table. Service can sometimes a bit messy, especially Friday and Saturday, when it’s full . Rather go here on weekdays and bring some time with you! This is a restaurant experience, you will not forget!

I’m Italian. This is possibly the worst “Italian” Restaurant on earth. It’s a circus for tourists, difficult to comment and a real shame. It’s a joke. Stay away from this weird “restaurant”.

The innkeeper Gerardo is a great talker and manages to distract people very cleverly from his very old menu, as he cannot offer most of the only 2 pages. He serves most people his tagliatta, which he prepares on a gas stove in front of the table. Doneness level is asked, but it's irrelevant since he has to keep running away. He argues loudly with the (too) few staff he has. The female waiter was very nice and a calming force. You search in vain for the dessert menu and you are simply served watermelon without asking. Even if you don't have to pay for prosecco and watermelon, it is far too expensive for the quality. Look locally, yes, not anymore

The concept and the location are a hit. I don't consider myself a picky person, but I found the hygiene to be 0. The boss was both a cook and a waiter, which is ok, but he had dirt under his fingernails, the menus were full of oil, and the glasses and cutlery had leftover food on them. He has put in a lot of effort and you can see his passion, after all he has been doing it for a very long time. However, in a catering establishment I find hygiene priority number 1, so that everyone can eat with joy instead of a lukewarm stomach.

The food was good, but unfortunately the boss is evil in my opinion. He constantly yelled at the employees. Very long waiting times, we waited almost 40 minutes until the drinks were served to us. Definitely a reason for me not to go anymore. There was live music, which was nice, but unfortunately it was too loud and it was hard to have a conversation.

If you want pizzas, you're in the wrong place! There are no pizzas there. Prices are very expensive and unfortunately extremely long waiting times. We arrived at 7:10pm and our drink arrived at 7:52pm. We were finally able to order the food at 8:25 p.m. and it finally arrived at 9 p.m. So from arrival to dinner it took 2 hours. Plus extremely expensive! The decor is special but the music was very loud and the staff very stressed the whole evening. Nobody really spoke German and therefore it was difficult to understand what we ended up eating. A pity. But the facility is great!

Food was ok but you can find much better for the price. Restaurants are rather unhygienic, cutlery and glasses are dirty. The manager of the restaurant constantly shouts at the waiter. Cosy, homey, and slightly (fun) eclectic little Italian in Wiedikon. The owner & the striking decor are definitely what makes the place stand out - as authentic Italian as you can get :) Dog friendly too!

The restaurant looks pretty amazing. However, I didn't think it was great at all when I saw the manager insulting an employee in front of everyone, that's not professional at all and not at all good for the employee's good development.

I made reservations three weeks in advance to celebrate a cozy Valentine's Day with my friend. However, when we arrived, the restaurant was already crowded. We were seated closely with another couple and waited 1(!) hour before we could even order drinks, let alone food. The starters (pasta tartufo and a nut salad) came relatively quickly, but the pasta was already lukewarm. After another 45 minutes, the boss asked what we had actually ordered. Apparently the main courses were missed (it was already 10:30 p.m. here!). The lobster pasta only contained 5 small pieces of lobster. Several couples got up and quickly left the restaurant. The waiter was nice, but obviously overwhelmed. The boss is yelling and it's pure chaos. An apology never came. That was probably the last time in the Napoli restaurant...

Gerardo is an amazing host. The restaurant is so special and beautiful. The food is simply on point every time!

The food was pretty good, but that was about the only positive thing in this restaurant. I went there with 4 other people, but the whole time while we were there the room was so noisy that we couldn't understand each other at all, even when shouting at each other over the table. The service was completely overloaded, it took about an hour until they finally took our order. The ordering itself was also quite stressful because the waiter was obviously in a hurry and kept running away to deal with other stuff while taking our order. This was on a Friday evening, so obviously it was a busy time for any restaurant, but I was still surprised by how unprepared they were for a situation which probably occurs at least once a week. The decoration is kind of funny/interesting, but I'm not sure what it's supposed to be. Something like Italian circus to a degree that results in sensory overload.

The Napoli is a beautiful place from the outside and the art and statues in the small but fine restaurant are a dream. Lovingly furnished for an unforgettable ambience. The owner and service were great and you felt welcome from the start. The pasta and tiramisu were very tasty and the wine recommendation was excellent. I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

You won’t find a better and more authentic Italian restaurant in Zurich. The reviews do not do this place justice. Clearly people are jealous or do not understand what a good Italian restaurant is. The pasta with truffle and chocolate is so creative and delicious, same with the meat - really to die for. Gerardo puts his heart and soul in the food and entertaining the guests. What’s even more impressive is how reasonably priced it is. Not to mention, Gerardo is such a nice guy and often invites you for Prosecco and desert. If you know Zurich, you would be lucky to find any one of those things. All of them together? That’s only Napoli. Can confidently say that. Can’t recommend enough !

The interiors are just wow. A perfect vintage evening with your family, friends or a date. It’s not a place for quick meal. But a place to just relax sip your wine and have conversation and just enjoy the decor and the wine. The food is extremely delicious so it’s totally worth the wait. There’s ofcourse two people helping but they are the most humble and loving service. Don’t forget to binge on the tiramisu. It was a stellar Saturday evening, thank you for all the recommendations and great music and wine.

Very unusual and recommended restaurant. We were greeted with a champagne and an appetizer. The owner came by personally and told us about the history of the restaurant. Very attentive and nice staff. The dishes were excellent. Small menu, but the dishes we ordered were a 10/10. The boss also provided a show by preparing the carne at the table. We thought it was particularly great that we always had the family feeling and that we hadn't experienced such great service in a long time. Definitely again!

Hard to understand how could anyone give more than 1 star. A lot of the current reviews are fake I guess. Worst experience in Zurich for dinner, terrible food, unbelievably bad service, a 4 wines winelist (no joke), very dirty table clothes, etc... strongly recommed against the place. I never leave reviews. But this was beyond bad, even for Swiss standards. Booked a table in advance, on arrival, place was a mess. Two people managing 8 tables and can’t bring it to function. Wine was something only long covid patients with permanent taste loss could enjoy. Meals were subpar, overmasked with oil. Several members of our party found their meat to be overdue. The place is flashy, instagramable, but only enjoyed in 2D from the backseat of an Uber ride when deciding where to go next after several bottles of wine. Definitely avoid.

The worst restaurant I've ever seen. The meat offered as a specialty was so old that I got food poisoning. But they charge 55 CHF for this. In some star restaurants you eat better for the price. When I gave feedback about the food when paying, I was threatened with expulsion and the police, even though I paid for everything correctly. Since I paid by card, the owner simply charged a different amount than what was requested and when I corrected this the owner became aggressive and wanted to attack me violently. Nobody should be money in this Waste restaurant!!!!! It should be closed immediately. Hello food control in Switzerland…

Nightmare! Restaurant is severely understaffed and therefore service is disorganized, unbelievably slow and unsanitary: only 1 overworked waiter and 1 owner, who shouts at his employee in front of customers. Tablecloths are dirty, menu is stained, cutlery is old and sticky. We had to wait 1 hour for an unacceptable main course: supposedly "fresh" strongly overcooked pasta with blunt pre-made tomato sauce and pre-grated cheese. For other guests meat was cooked on an old gas stove right between the tables. Result: the whole restaurant was drowning in smoke and burnt odor. On top of all that the prices are steep.

For many years we have traditionally celebrated our anniversary at Napoli. Every time overwhelmed by the interior design, the cozy atmosphere and Gerardo's charm, we always enjoy a celebratory meal here. If you want to spend quiet hours in Napoli, it's best to do so during the week. It's quiet there and Gerardo takes a lot of time for his guests. In all these years we have never had a negative experience and have always returned home happy and full.

LOVE IT HERE. I spent an amazing and unforgettable night here. The Italian owner is so friendly and always came to us caring if everything is good, his service was full of happiness, joy and love. I see how much love he has been pouring into the restaurant more than 30 years, and how much passion he has. Food was also great, we loved them all. Truffle ravioli and lobster pasta was super good. The style of the restaurant was just so special, whole atmosphere was just like magical and feel like dreaming. It is not modern style but the whole experience makes your heart warm.
