Unfortunately this restaurant has been converted into a bar-club and the food has suffered greatly as a result. So much so that it faded into the background. If you want to have a drink and listen to music it's great but I don't recommend it for dining.

Many years and a lot of money left in this store. Was turned away at the door today (Thursday evening) because I didn't want to buy a bottle worth 470 chf. Sorry, I'm a direct neighbor, I've been to this shop so many times, but I haven't experienced anything like this in Zurich in 15 years. If you don't start treating customers with respect right away, you will lose more customers like me. In short: after years of being a regular customer, I will prefer to go to bars that welcome me as respectfully and friendly as I treat them. Incomprehensible

Overall great outdoor seating, food is good (love the fries as they have those extra thin fries which is rare to find). It can be sometimes hard to find table but if it is spring/summer perfect place for lunch!

Absolutely not friendly personal

The bouncer is very unfriendly and decadent. At first he didn't want to let me in because there was only "bottle service" after 11 p.m., even though a date was waiting for me inside. This would have meant that I would have had to consume at least one bottle worth 350 francs. After a long wait, a server let me in. When I ordered a gin and tonic, there was another drink on my bill that I hadn't ordered - sounds like a scam/fraud to me! NEVER AGAIN!

If the "Old Fashion Bar" can't even do an "Old Fashion"...

I visited the Old Fashion Bar with 3 friends for dinner. Since there was no free table, we were seated at the bar to eat. We ate there, drank wine and also champagne. The waiter who served the tables then complained about the bar stools. They would block his way. He did not respond to our offer that he could remove them and that we would be happy to do so. He doesn't know what to do with it. Then why is he complaining? Then a woman who was at a fairly empty table offered us to sit with her. So we moved from the bar to the table. The same waiter then told us that we weren't allowed to sit there. We can pay a bottle of champagne for a minimum of CHF 400 and he will find us another table. The more we pay, the better the table. This made me a little suspicious and required him to find a table first. Then we will consume as much as he demands. 5 minutes later the waiter said that there was no free table left. Since our seats at the bar were occupied by someone else, this meant that we had to leave the restaurant. Thank you very much for that. We will never bother you again.

It's a shame, it was really very humane and nice there - but that's probably it for the location. Now you will be informed at the entrance (on a normal Thursday evening!) that you have to consume at least 1 bottle. As if that wasn't too much of a good thing, we were told "nice", 1 fl. It should be Ruinart (CHF 400!!!)!? Huh... sorry, what happened to good old Zurich... 🙈 Never again old fashion... 😐

Beautiful ambience, great style. Very expensive in price. Food is ok, but not special. Unfortunately, fries are absolutely not good. Cocktails sometimes overpriced. Absolutely unfriendly, arrogant staff...disaster. When we asked to pay separately, the bill was thrown on the table and only when the "waiter" saw that we had finished doing the math himself did he turn back to us. If you wanted to order something else, you had to draw attention to yourself several times and were looked at with annoyance. We also had to get our own tickets several times. It's a shame about the beautiful atmosphere, but there are many, many better bars/restaurants in Zurich.

Very attentive service, price/performance for the food is not right for me and the same applies to a beer served openly, which cost 9 CHF for 3dl. The fries were lukewarm and the chicken in the Old Fashion Burger was dry.

The Old Fashion Bar is simply great! From start to finish my visit here was a real pleasure. The service and security staff were extremely courteous and attentive. A big thank you to the entire team! The food was a real culinary delight! Every bite was a flavor feast, and the selection of dishes is impressive. I can't praise the food here enough. The atmosphere in the Old Fashion Bar is simply wonderful. It radiates a cozy and inviting atmosphere that makes it easy to feel comfortable and enjoy the evening. All in all, I can highly recommend the Old Fashion Bar. Here you not only get excellent food, but also first-class service and a great atmosphere. I will definitely come again!

Very nice place! The staff is very nice and helpful. Nice terrace for summer time. Very well decorated à la old school. The tartare was absolutely delicious. One negative point is the only and one tiny ladies rest room for the whole place!

I went to this restaurant for lunch and ordered a Caesar salad. I was served a plate with a large portion of rotten salad. I pointed this out to the waiter and his reaction was... none. I brought this to the attention of a second cellar and his reaction was again no. Definitely not a restaurant I can recommend.

As part of Züri Fäscht 2023, the Old Fashion Club Festival with DJ Black Coffee was an absolute highlight!

What a pitty that they let so many people inside. Bad calculation, people could not move around. We had to step outside the mainfloor and listen from there. Black Coffee would have been very nice.

Incomprehensible. Had reserved a table for Saturday at 9:15 p.m. to eat and drink a few cocktails. Not even an hour later a waiter came up to us and said he needed the table in 20 minutes. When I said we had reserved, he shrugged and said, “But I still need the table”. It's nice that a reservation isn't worth anything and you're scared away for "special guests". Maybe it was also due to sales. The guests at the other tables had been sitting at the tables much longer than we had. Bottomless and arrogant/unfriendly service, never experienced in Zurich.

A place I use to like. You have to order a bottle of champagne if you want a table (for a group of 6 people). Ok we order. You order the bottle and they tell you you are allowed to stay only 45 minutes unless you consume above CHF 300. The champagne is already 200+. During this 45 you are not allowed to order water or Coca Cola(?). At 45 min and 00 seconds extremely rude weiter comes and forces you to pay and leave or immediately consume the CHF 300 minimum. This bar is charging by the hour like some other profession you can find in excess there. The entire staff including the manager are shockingly rude. No wonder the bar was empty on Friday night. The food is absolutely horrible. There is no sanitary products in the restroom, which is one for the entire bar. Just two nice people-the bouncer and the DJ. Horrible, horrible management. On top of the manager try to offend me personally by saying my shoes are fake (🤷🏻‍♀️🤣) when I dared to complain. I don’t mind the CHF 300+ but too many conditions and rudeness makes it complicated and annoying for the clients that’s why this bar is empty and dying soon.

We were in the very beautiful garden at lunchtime. The service was very attentive and courteous. The food was plentiful and of great quality. It doesn't really matter to me whether the nouveau riche or others are or were there, since it's about us. We found it very good, including the beautiful ambience.

It used to be such a great restaurant. We were there so many times. Today I went again after a long time and wanted to have a drink with a friend. It was full of wannabe nouveau riche, the waiter was so rude. I don't drink alcohol and didn't get anything to drink because apparently you have to order a whole bottle that my girlfriend wouldn't have wanted to drink on her own. Went straight back out. It's a shame but I won't set foot in this restaurant again.

The shop was recommended to us by friends in Zurich, but when the bouncer at the door arrogantly told us that bottled consumption was mandatory here, we turned around. All 5 people in our group were wealthy and just wanted to come in and have fun, but if the 4000 CHF earner at the entrance acts as if HE were a guest here and orders bottles of champagne... then something is definitely going wrong :) If you're looking for upscale If you want to make company, you also need upscale staff and not a backyard garage bouncer! Think about it!

A cool shop in the evening, with a DJ at the end of the week and after dinner it becomes a party bar. At lunchtime there is a very nice terrace in the sun in a quiet courtyard. Always with very good service.

I had dinner with my wife this evening because it was her birthday. Everything, literally everything is tip top. Of course there were small details that didn't suit me perfectly in terms of service, but you can't please everyone. Whether with friends, girlfriend, wife or customers (with customers only during the day because of the music) this location is suitable for everything: from food to wonderful cocktails. From a romantic adventure date to a party night. Thanks again to the guys for the lovely service.

The interior is nicely decorated and the food and cocktails are delicious. However, the staff is unfriendly. We were even sent away once because, in their opinion, we didn't consume enough. The clientele is very questionable. It seems to me as if this restaurant exists to see and be seen. I noticed a lot of escorts.

We were there on New Year's Eve without a reservation and found a place, thank you very much for that :) Atmosphere was great (evening = bar). Minimum consumption of 100 Stutz per person was perfectly fine, generally when visiting a bar, I think that's fine too. It's just a must, which I don't think is great (there are people who don't drink alcohol) but drinking a bottle for two is completely justified. Prices are OK, a little more expensive (I recommend at least 300 per person so that it's fun to be there) but you also get the location. The staff was very attentive, refilled elegantly, and also kept the table free for us when we were briefly at the lake, so very nice :) I can recommend the place for a cozy evening for four or a date evening for two. We didn't have any food, so no review. There is no parking space in front of it, but there are plenty of parking garages in the area. Unfortunately I don't have any better pictures hahaha

On December 23rd, 2022 I was a guest at Old Fashion with 8 friends. The staff was very attentive and friendly, from reception to service. In addition to the good selection of drinks, a top DJ with classy house beats created an additional atmosphere. I'm looking forward to the next time and then I'll study the menu. Greetings Peter

The most fantastic spot to pop into for a refreshing champagne, cup of espresso or an old fashion. We became instant friends with the staff. Loved everything about this classic Zurich restaurant/bar.

I would like to share my latest experience when I visited the Old Fashion Bar on November 12th, 2022. I went there with my friend to keep celebrating my birthday and we just wanted to get some drinks and visit another friend of mine who’s an amazing DJ there. Once we got inside we went all the way in to the bar section and we were waiting for some sit places. This waitress called Rainer was cleaning up a table in front us, hence we assumed we could sit and charmed us to “sit”. Once we sat for 5 minutes, he comes with a very but VERY arrogant attitude telling us in a very inappropriate and humiliating voice tone that “the table is not available for us unless we want to buy champagne”. I wouldn’t mind buying a bottle of champagne but the problem and the huge disappointment that I experienced was the way the waitress treated me and my friend. Treating your customers in such arrogant and humiliating way is not acceptable and this kills your mood and the reputation of the bar. All I ask for is this waitress to be fired. It’s not the first time this waitress treats customers like this. He already has a lot of complaints, he keeps working there and this is unacceptable.

Bar keepers are top and serve the best drinks in Town. LOVE the the style of the bar. Perfect spot for a late night drink.
