Olimpia in Lugano

High quality local ingredients, very well prepared traditional recipes, with good seasonal dishes, the asparagus flan was incredible covered with a delicious parmesan, we took the “Pinza” option which has two types of base and you already add the ingredients extras, the PDO wine is very local, soft and fresh, the lemon cake was very good, the attentive and friendly team was very cordial upon our arrival, the atmosphere of the place is very nice located on the ground floor of the historic building of the municipality, they placed us in a very well decorated external tent that took you to another era. An excellent place to return to on the next trip to Lugano, thank you very much Olimpia.

Excellent welcome, very nice setting, offer to serve half portions for children, careful and fast service, very appreciable when you have little ones at the table who don't last long in the restaurant, quality cuisine. I recommend!

We stopped by in the morning and had breakfast with my aunt and my partner, the cappuccino and also the croissant were highly recommended. Then for dinner we decided to go and try the food, excellent pasta, we were served by a very nice and attentive Italian speaking girl. The gnoccis and carbonara pasta are highly recommended.

I always eat exceptionally well here. Vitelo Tonato and roast beef in summer are my absolute favorites. Very friendly staff and fair price-performance ratio for the place. Keep it up.

We wanted to have lunch with my wife, we asked the guys if it was possible to sit on the street, they answered - yes, of course, no problem. The waiter is a friendly guy, there are no complaints about him. We witnessed a scandal between the waiters, a guy and a girl, after which the girl clearly handed us the cutlery without enthusiasm, and that was the end of our service... I went for the menu myself, in the end no one came to us and we left. Maybe it’s not the season, maybe there aren’t enough employees, but that’s the way it is (I rated it solely for the service)

Excellent. I live in Zurich and I came two weekends in a row to eat here with my mom who was visiting. The tomato and anchovy pinsa was delicious. We also had the polenta with porcini mushrooms and also a 10. They even brought us cheesecake and sang happy birthday to my mom. The service was always impeccable and all the waiters were very kind and attentive.

We waited 20min to get to sit down, the service was very unfriendly and unprofessional. We wouldnt get the menu cards. They told us to wait and wait and wait. Not okay! Will not be comming back here. 👎

Awful customer service for their diners. Raclette was disappointing and so was their bread. Worst part was server asking for a tip when I went to pay by card. I've never seen that anywhere in Switzerland or Italy. Poor service and 1 star for pressuring customers into tipping at the end.

Once we get to the table we wait 20 minutes without anyone asking us anything, I get up and ask if it is possible to bring us water. Hospitality needs improvement, I ask for a gluten-free menu given my difficulty and I am told to have a salad. I finally manage to get a fillet. Good food, service wise there is room for improvement.

Beautiful place, well decorated for Christmas. The food was well presented, very nicely cooked, and the wine very aromatic and tasteful, hence the five stars. The service on the other hand was a bit cold, feels like they just 'execute'. Not a really welcome feeling. Maybe this is a management request and not them, but still. Anyway, the overall impression was good, and as soon as I am back in Lugano, I will visit again.

In the middle of the square, full of people and yet smiles always present. It feels comfortable. We were here with 3 small children and they were very welcome. We will definitely come here again for dinner too it looks delicious! Service in addition to kindness and friendliness, super quick despite the crowd. I highly recommend it!!

Even in December with so many people coming and going, kindness and courtesy are the setting for this delightful restaurant, excellent menus... all very good and average prices. Super recommended

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. My mom got food poisoning from the mushroom carpaccio in this horrible restaurant. Unfriendly and rude staff. Overpriced mediocre food in general. NB: when we received food, it was more or less fine, just eatable. we were almost done when we found a worm in carpaccio (mb there were more worms, but we didn’t pay attention). We immediately called for a waiter and explained the situation. They told us that this is normal for a mushroom carpaccio but they excluded the dish from the receipt. When we came back to the hotel, my mom started to show the symptoms of food poisoning…

Great location close to the lake but poor service (e.g. waiter not attentive enough, wrong dish served) and mediocre food.

Watered down ginger mojito fr.14.50 price for plucking chickens, we're not there guys, they are losing all commercial ethics. This winter when there are no more tourists at these prices you will find the tables empty.

The terrace is a disaster at 10 in the morning nothing can be given to brioche I waited more than 20 minutes before the order with an empty terrace Then another 10 minutes.

Lovely fresh food with a lovely view. The summer menu was a treat and service was quick and accommodating. Recommend it if you're passing by Lugano! It's next to the lake and fairly close to the train station as well which we loved.

poser shop. Makes it noble, but only serves inferior goods. Caesar salad from the fridge, with cold chicken and dry, old bread from the bag 21.5 CHF. Poke tuna, stringy fish, hard rice 28.5 CHF. Bit bold.

Had mold in it I couldn't eat cheese anymore and when I said I didn't want it anymore, another portion was brought to me at my request and charged for. They first wanted to scrape the mold out of the cheese, but then when they saw the amount of mold they replaced it. I told the waiter that it wasn't okay and he replied that you can't eat this pasta with cheese.

Very pleasant place, very kind staff, ordered rostbif, massacred with sauce spread over the meat, a dish with a terrible presentation. It's a shame because the meat was good after so much effort to move the mayonnaise. Wouldn't it be appropriate to serve the dish with the sauce on the side, as usual?

I originally wanted to eat fondue, but I chose this restaurant because it was too expensive, but I was quite satisfied. It was also nice that the aperitif bread was free, and the beer made in the store was also delicious. Pinsa is said to be a pizza from the Roman era. They say it contains soybean powder and various other things, but the dough is unique and the ingredients are great. It was nice to be able to choose. I topped it with salami and arugula, and the combination of the thick, crispy, and savory dough with the slightly salty sauce was very delicious. I recommend it.

On Friday evening the restaurant was well staffed, the staff well organized, bringing dishes from the other table Dishes cleared, very efficient. The food “Risotto funghi porcini” was an absolute dream. Regarding the location of the restaurant, it's lively around you, you can see a lot, it never gets boring.

Slow service, very slow and poorly done! To serve the person in front of me, instead of standing next to the person facing me (usually on the right), he passed me with his arm across the middle of the table. For 4 ice cream "cups" and 4 scoops (2 and 2) we waited more than 40 minutes... considering that it's just ice cream, more than 40 minutes seems a bit excessive to me, if I had come to eat how long would I have had to wait 5 hours? Ask yourself 2 questions about why it was empty at your place on Sunday afternoon and the other restaurants were full. I really don't think I'll go back there again, Ticino is full of restaurants and one that serves me better without "witty" waiters who reply seee... the ice creams are arriving and it's taking all the love. You really shouldn't allow yourself to answer... GET A MOVE! You can't keep the prices you have and then be slow as snails, respond, and serve poorly.

We went to this restaurant one evening to eat raclette at will as written outside. How to tell you…. The raclette was good but they don't know how to serve raclette at all. Each time they brought me huge dishes of 3-4 raclettes at the same time. Never seen that in my life. You eat one raclette, it’s as if you had eaten 4 straight, big portions. The service should be reviewed. In addition, I heard behind the two waiters talking and who did not agree on how to serve the raclettes, one he said "but if it's at discretion" and the other who replied "no it's not at your discretion". discretion it’s just one squeegee per person”. No, but anything, so they'll serve me a raclette for 28.-? Ahahah one of the servers was really on task. Plus I hadn't finished, I wanted another raclette and so our services were positioned to say that we hadn't finished, the waiter came and said to us "are you finished?" » and wanted to take our plates back. I tell him “no, we’re not finished, no, we still want some raclette.” As a professional, he can't even notice our service, he should review his work, plus he wasn't very pleasant! Anyway, I wouldn't eat raclette there anymore. Service to be reviewed, do not know how to serve raclettes.

We didn't get along well at all. The waiter was rude and obviously stressed. I ate the pizzoccheri: not to order, the worst I've ever eaten. The cheese seemed to be the one on the pizzas to be more than poor quality. A bigbabol gives less jaw pain.

The more you drink, the more you pay and the less they consider you…. A new motorbike is... bottles worth 70/80/90.- and you also have to pay for a mini platter with cured meats and focaccia. Forget it, it should be avoided!!!

Both pasta dishes were cooked to al dente which was pretty good. Both spritz were on the strong side so we were feeing pretty good after.

I booked for a group a little last minute and it was perfect, exactly, even better than I expected! I had asked for an "apéro garni" and we were served copiously with excellent little things to taste. We were able to be on the terrace. The service was friendly.

We looked for a restaurant that served polenta. On the game menu there was wild boar with polenta and chestnut. Unfortunately the "polenta" was made from corn flour and was a mush, the rest was great. Even though we let the mush go back, no one asked. We were very disappointed!

Beef lasagna was a veggie lasagna.... Restaurant looks nice but quite disappointed with basic italian cooking (well, very!)
