Orologio in Lugano

If I could I would give 6 points for the service. We wanted to have a nice evening, eat first-class in an Italian restaurant and the waiter served us in 'German'! Our Italian is enough for *please, thank you, good evening*, but by no means for a menu of first-class dishes. But that's exactly what our food was, first class.😊 Quiet music in the background, subtle but constant attention from 'our' waiter, and a magnificent culinary delight. We recommend. 🙂

The start was quite good: friendly service, quick service. After the main course, however, nothing more happened. No demand for dessert, employees often not there to talk to you, etc.

We spontaneously went to Ristorante Orologio, a beautiful restaurant! The food was very good and our waiter Josef did an excellent job, thank you very much!

Incredible discovery! The servers are very professional! The sommelier knows his wines by heart and speaks about them lovingly and therefore knows exactly how to recommend the best wine with your meal! We had the fish of the day, sole, it was cooked perfectly and the divine sauce and vegetables that accompanied it were perfectly cooked. A little extra for this restaurant, the chef comes at the end of the service to ask his customers' opinions! In short, we loved this restaurant, we will happily return there during a stay in Lugano! Rude service and vulgar waiters. I had ordered a carbonara and while ordering I had asked if the bacon could be removed because I am a vegetarian, the waiter looked at me as if I came from another planet. Ready! we are in 2023 they said yes and after a good 27 minutes of waiting I found the plate with the bacon. Shameful

At Alex it's always a certainty! Tartare is one of the dishes you absolutely must try. Vito at the service is really kind, attentive and empathetic. When you are in Lugano it is definitely a mandatory stop!

The restaurant is nice and the food OK, however my personal opinion, it is overpriced for what it is and Lugano has so much better and cheaper alternatives, where you can sit outside and with much greater vibes.

We had dinner on Saturday evening in this restaurant, where we were welcomed very kindly and where we had the pleasant surprise of having dinner in the room used as a cellar. Dishes prepared with great care and without errors, very good and excellent wine recommended to us. When we return to Lugano, it will be a stop to absolutely repeat!!

A fantastic experience. We discovered the restaurant spontaneously and at the beginning we weren't really sure what to expect - but for an Italian restaurant that is completely inconspicuous at the bus station, it was probably the best Italian we've ever been to. The host is extremely attentive and very amusing, the level of the cuisine overwhelmed us. These are creations that should earn points. So really great class. We will definitely come back. Bad treatment of the customers, at the entrance comes a guy asking what I want, and I say I would like 1 table for 2 people and says there is no more space without a reservation, with 5 empty tables without the reserve sign on them... .So lousy.....

Owner/Waiter Alex Moscatelli, Chef Davide, and Waitress Elsa made my first dinner in Lugano quite memorable. Alex greeting me upon entry, ushering me to my seat, lighting the candle on my table, checking in on me every now and then until the end of my meal making sure I have everything to my liking; Elsa offering me a lovely rosé to start and switching the flower on my table for a more fragrant one; Chef Davide preparing me a perfectly cooked foie gras and a very tender 12-hour slow cooked ossobuco with risotto alla milanese... that wraps my perfect first night in Lugano, Switzerland! Grazie!

Very welcoming, unique atmosphere. Nice and kind staff. As a first course we ate pappardelle with venison ragout, a real delight. As a second course rolled cordon bleu (not flat like almost everywhere else), with French fries, a sight to behold and very delicious and rich to eat. I will definitely go there again and recommend this place.

I had a good lunch, the dishes are well presented and the taste is there. The ravioli and venison tataki are excellent. The problems for me were the high prices even for Lugano and the disorganized staff. They brought me the wrong bill twice and the waiter was too loud and didn't skimp on swearing.

Well before I put 4 ⭐ but today I go down to 3 ⭐. The food is very good like before covid😷... but the service is deplorable. Far too many errors and bad faith. From ordering to billing. In short, it's a shame, especially since the price is quite high so we expect everything to be impeccable.

we had 6 different courses, 1 was very good, 3 of them average, 2 of them poor! restaurant has a very nice interior! but the general style of the restaurant and waiters between casual and chic is a question of taste! service rather casual, prices too chic for what you get! would no come back, to be frank!
