Quiet place, it's not my first dinner here and every time at the end I leave satisfied and I tell myself that I will certainly gladly return. What more could you want, try it, it's definitely worth it.

Atmosphere is really good, very cozy and authentic. Service is ok, nothing extraordinary. As for the food, first of all everything was really fresh and quick. Though I personally feel that it was too plain and lacking of seasoning. Also feels like recipes are quite simple that is not bad but I wish it has more flavor. But maybe that how its done here, since it was cooked properly. I would say duck was little bit chewy, pasta feels like homemade, beef was ok. Overall I would suggest visiting just for the atmosphere and a good glass of wine. Prices are high but not too much comparing to big portions they serve.

We have been to this very nice and good restaurant several times and have always been very satisfied. But last time we were a bit annoyed: we ordered - as we often do - Zabaglione for dessert, I also got it, but the waiter took about half of it away and didn't bring it again. Annoying, right?

What an incredible experience! We went to Osteria Lanterna to celebrate our 18th anniversary based on the sheer volume of glowing posts on here about the restaurant and the attentive responses the owners provided, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere and service was impeccable, and the quality of courses was top-notch. My only regret was that my Italian is not good enough (yet) to best share my praise with the proprietor, who makes the rounds to all the patrons with charm and enthusiasm.

Today with the Christmas lunch the chefs outdid themselves... to say that everything was perfect is an understatement... food, quality, creativity, presentation of the dishes was all excellent and impeccable. cibo discreto, molto frettolosi nel servizio conto spropositato 230 euro 3 antipasti e 3 secondi, 61 euro 1 litro di vino sfuso e 15 euro 3 caraffe di acqua.chiedendo motivazione dei 61 euro di 1 litro di vino sfuso motivano che sulla lista dei vini, a noi mai consegnata, si specifica 6 euro per un calice di misurazione 1 dl, per cui dice 60 euro 10 dl. non ci è stato specificato il tipo di vino, in quanto è stato direttamente scelto dal cameriere, fidandoci del buon senso pensiamo che non sia professionale, servire una bottiglia di vino sfuso non specificato con un prezzo fuori mercato, dato che poi era un merlot.

Dicevano che era un grotto di qualità, poi arrivi a mangiare e la polenta è finita, pessimo!Non è un grotto vero.

Ristorante posizionato nella zona dei "Grotti" di Mendrisio, decisamente il migliore di tutti. Cucina raffinata, servizio impeccabile, ambiente tipico e caratteristico. Prezzi adeguati ma tuttavia sostenibili.

I loved this restaurant, I had dinner here alone with my dog. The ambiance is beautiful, you can wear your pyjama or a cocktail dress and you will feel comfortable either way. The food is delicious, I had the asperges with egg and cheese, healthy and jummy. Fresh bread, Good wine, great service. I highly recommend to go here!

Sind spontan nach dem Foxtownbesuch dort essen gegangen. Sehr freundliches Personal. Preis/Leistung absolut ok. Essen auch sehr gut. Wir hatten die Salami/Fleischplatte als Vorspeise, war lecker. Auch die Hauptspeisen (Leber, Braten, Cordonbleu, Vegirisotto und Polenta) waren sehr gut. Weinkarte tipptopp und Dessert zwar nur Panna Cotta ausprobiert aber war auch vorzüglich. Kommen gerne wieder.

Pranzo dopo visita alla famiglia di mia figlia in questo che più che un grotto è un ristorante con qualche pretesa. Ambiente molto curato in una location da grotto elegante. Personale di tono, piatti di una certa ricercatezza ben pressentati e buoni. Prezzi non a buon mercato (in 6 abbiamo speso 300.--) ma direi in linea con la qualità

Spontan entschieden wir uns für ein Mittagessen im Lanterna. Wir wurden sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Nach primo und secondi Piatti war unsere Vorfreude auf die Hauptspeise gross und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Zu zarten Eglifilets gab es ein wunderbar cremiges Prosecco- Risotto. Auch das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmt, wenn man bedenkt wie hochwertig die Speisen waren. Wir werden sicher wieder kommen!

Siamo stati invitati a pranzo domenica 8 dicembre da una coppia di amici.Non eravamo mai stati in questa località detta Via Alle Cantine dove ci sono più crotti uno dopo l'altro e dove si respira un'atmosfera piacevole sin dall'arrivo.Questo crotto in particolare si discosta dal tipico crotto ticinese in quanto è più un ristorante che un crotto. La struttura è suggestiva con il soffitto a volte e il camino enorme con esposte le bottiglie di vino.Abbiamo scelto 2 fiori di zucchina ripieni di fonduta che i nostri amici han detto essere ottimi e un tris di carciofi e un piatto di accighe del cantabrico. tutto buonoQuello che ci è piaciuto maggiormente comunque sono stati i secondi: 1 fegato alla venaziana e 3 maialini da latte al forno. Deliziosi veramente. Il maialino era fuori menu e ci è stato proposto dal cameriere. davvero ottimo e servito con patate arrosto ben cotte e saporite e un' insalatina di songino.La carta dei vini è ampia e ben assortita. Noi, su suggerimento del cameriere abbiamo optato per un rosé veramente buono.Non so il totale del conto in quanto eravamo ospiti ma dando un'occhiata al menu i prezzi non sono da crotto, ma in linea con la qualità del cibo e del servizio, tanto più che ci troviamo in Svizzera..Consiglio volentieri questo ristorantino particolare e accogliente.Meglio prenotare.

Ho provato la saletta separata al piano terra...una ex cantina rinnovata. Molto carino con una buona cucina. Max 12/14 persone di capienza. Il risotto era molto buono. Per il prezzo non saprei dire visto che si trattava di una cena di lavoro.

Wollten ins Fox Town aber nicht dort essen. So haben wir die Osteria Lanterna entdeckt und waren sehr zufrieden. Da wir Freunde dabei hatten welche nur Englisch sprechen, haben wir die englische Karte erhalten. Essen war ausgezeichnete Tessiner Küche, Service war sehr zuvorkommend. Alles war Ok und auch preislich gut. Wir kommen wieder wenn wir ins Tessin gehen.

Si vous aimez les restaurants gastronomiques allez dans un vrai gastro et si vous aimez les restaurants typiques allez dans un grotto. Celui-ci se veut semi-gastronomique mais n’en a que le prix, la qualité et le service sont vraiment médiocres. Passez votre chemin et découvrez la vraie cuisine tessinoise.

Buon servizio. Atmosfera tranquilla e rilassante sul mezzogiorno. Abbiamo assaggiato le quaglie disossate ripiene, con salsa al Vin Santo e uva passa: buone e gustose le quaglie. Il risotto alla zucca e mascarpone è stato servito tiepido, nonostante il piatto fosse stato preriscaldato. Ho apprezzato l'antipasto di prosciutto San Daniele, servito con gnocchi fritti e pere.

Bel ristorante, ben arredato ed in teoria romantico.Volevamo passare una serata romantica ed abbiamo deciso di recarci in questo ristorante dopo aver letto le recensioni. Il servizio da parte dei camerieri è stato buono , peccato che in sala ci fosse una cliente che starnazzava ad alto volume e che i camerieri l abbiano incoraggiata ancor di più. Praticamente l'atmosfera romantica è svanita, avrei forse apprezzato ( visto la situazione ) che i camerieri si offrissero di farci accomodare nel altra sala per esser più intimi.Buona la qualitá del cibo e del vino ma considerando il tutto è stato decisamente salato il conto!

Il ristorante è molto accogliente e caratteristico con le sue volte di cantine. Ottima cordialità e cibi ottimi, mangiato Cordon Blue ottimo . Consigliato a tutti che piace la buona cucina.

Da fuori non diresti ... dentro trovi due sale molto ben riattate e vivi l ‘atmosfera dei nostri nonni in stile rivisitato. La carta menu è ricca ed i piatti sono abbondanti. Va bene anche x una pausa a mezzogiorno, Ma è davvero ideale x una cenetta, anche romantica.D’estate si può mangiare sulla “terrazza” e penso sia molto carino

Das Lokal ist durchgehend nett und wir hatten dort einen schönen Abend. Das Personal hat fix, sauber und freundlich gearbeitet. Das Lokal ist wirklich äußerst geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Keine billige Deko, stattdessen es war farblich das meiste stark hübsch auf einander angepasst. Soweit es mich betrifft glaube, mein Lebensgefährte und ich, haben bereits jetzt einmal die ganze Karte rauf und hinunter bestellt. Das Gericht wurde äußerst flott serviert.

Un'esperienza veramente da sconsigliare a chi è celiaco. Mi sono recato qui con i colleghi per un pranzo di lavoro il 18 settembre, un ristorante dove ero già stato in precedenza e dove avevo apprezzato l'ottima cucina. Purtroppo, nonostante avessi ricevuto rassicurazioni sulla sull'idoneità di tutte le portate ordinate, ho passato un pomeriggio in preda ai disturbi conseguenti all'assunzione di glutine.Questo testimonia inaffidabilità e insensibilità per le conseguenze che la somministrazione di allergeni provoca nei soggetti intolleranti. Il livello del ristorante e i prezzi praticati dovrebbero già essere una garanzia per tutti i clienti.Non ci tornerò più.

Struttura suggestiva situata nella storica via delle cantine di Mendrisio. Perfetto per pranzi e cene, sia nello spazio esterno allestito durante il periodo estivo che negli spledidi locali interni da poco ristrutturati in perfetto stile grotto ticinese.Il menù è ricco di piatti semplici ma molto ben curati, la carta dei vini propone un'ampia scelta di vini locali, il tutto a un prezzo corretto.Il servizio è cordiale e professionale.Senza dubbio da provare alla prima occasione.

Nous avons pris la Tomme Vaudoise en plat et en dessert la mousse au chocolat, délicieux! Addition correcte, service impeccable. Le lieu est magnifique, très calme sur les haut de Mendriso. Je recommande!

Ottimi i dolci e ricca la cantina.I prezzi sono in linea con la ristorazione di qualità in Canton Ticino,l.Continueremo a frequentarlo.

Dopo oltre un anno oggi a pranzo siamo di nuovo qui a gustare un modo di cucinare perfetto (per il nostro modo di intendere la buona cucina). Dopo un antipasto con fiori di zucca in tempura fritti con ripieno di una deliziosa fonduta (mio marito) e un piatto di ravioli fatti in casa, al burro, con ricotta e verdurine (io), la sorpresa è stata il branzino (freschissimo meraviglioso) ai ferri con gustosi saporiti cicciosi gamberetti, olive greche, capperi, pomodorini e contorno di patate arrosto! Cotto in un modo perfetto, che neanche in Versilia l’avrebbero potuto cuocere meglio... un calice di bianco Chardonnay, bottiglia d’acqua, due gelati fatti in casa con tanti pezzi di noce, due caffè. Prezzo onestissimo: 151 fr!!! (Circa 135 euro?)Location elegante, tranquilla, personale simpatico, gentile e competente. Tempi d’attesa giusti. Nessuna “sbavatura”! E poi....carinissima la via delle Cantine!

L'interno del locale é molto carino/intimo. Se vi recate in questa osteria vi consiglio assolutamente di assaggiare come antipasto i fiori di zucca ripieni! SONO VERAMENTE SQUISITI!!!!!!!! I prezzi sono leggermente alti, ma assolutamente compatibili con tutti gli altri grotti e ristoranti presenti in zona. Personale cordiale.
