Top address for fine Italian cuisine with a high standard. Great service, very friendly and attentive. Large wine selection. The three-course Tavolata for four people was worth every franc! The only downside: the restaurant is small and when it's full, it's a bit noisy. All in all we really liked it. Keep it up and the four of us will be back! Mille Grazie.⁹

The two of us stayed at San Gallo and had a really great evening there. The service is extremely warm and the whole team is very courteous and attentive. There were great drink recommendations, which were always brought to the table promptly. Our food also came very quickly and the pasta with the lobster was an absolute poem and perfectly seasoned. The crème brûlée was definitely one of the best desserts I've ever had, if not THE best. Small extra requests that were not on the menu were also made possible. All in all, an absolutely successful evening that we will remember for a very long time. I can highly recommend the restaurant to everyone and if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stop there again. A big compliment and thank you to the entire team and hopefully see you soon!

Discovered by chance one evening at the Christmas market, we were able to get a table after about ten minutes. The wait was worth it because the dishes are excellent with very careful presentation. Very good parmigiana and delicious squash risotto. Friendly and efficient server who remained very available despite the strong influence. In short, it’s an excellent address that quickly immerses us in Italy. Well done !

A restaurant that is not on the way, but was recommended to us as an Italian and culinary delight. Reservation in advance is recommended, clean in the entrance area, restaurant tidy, very clean, open kitchen, kitchen staff with clean work clothes, and well-coordinated. Service Professional, courteous, attentive, polite. Waiting times were pleasant and not stressful, explanation of the various dishes and ingredients at the table, tasty, a real treat for the palate. The entire staff was pleasant and accommodating. Boss on site, as always an important factor for me. Prices tend to be in the upper segment, but the quality and freshness of the products justify this. Gladly again, five stars very well deserved.

The Osteria in St.Gallen is a very charming, fine, dignified restaurant. The ambience is magical. The food is fantastic. And the service was friendly and accommodating. It's a rather expensive restaurant, but it's worth it and you really have enough. I love the open kitchen and the wine bar. Simply charming and magical. We'd love to come back. I was thrilled with the food!!!

The food was very good, I would give it 4 stars. However, the service was not adequate for this price category. There were four of us and we consumed it for 460 francs. We were informed at 10 p.m. that the restaurant closed at 11 p.m. and that we should order the “last round”. The service was extremely pushy and unpleasant. The teaching daughter in service deserves special mention. She was very friendly and was very pleasant to deal with.

Unfortunately, the chairs are so uncomfortable that you don't want to enjoy the delicious food for long. I must have missed the fact that the beef fillet comes with gravy, I prefer it without anything. I suggest adding the sauce separately so everyone can decide for themselves.

Service was not good (not going there again). We were all surprised bg the service level: impolite, shouting and intolerant, in summary unprofessional. Food was ok (for the prices, we expected better honestly). It could be better for italian food. E.g. the entrecote had a really weird flavor to it.

The Osteria San Gallo is housed in a small space right on the market square, but it exudes even more charm. We sat right next to the open kitchen and were able to watch the agile hustle and bustle of the kitchen team. The service was prompt and pleasant, the staff friendly and unobtrusive. My companion as well as I enjoyed the chosen meal. But the best thing is at the end: unexpectedly, we received a sweet greeting from the kitchen. One of the best tiramisus I've ever tasted. Suffice it to say, I don't actually like tiramisu. Thank you Osteria San Gallo for this lovely evening. We'd love to come back. 🥰

Osteria San Gallo was recommended to us by a few people, so we decided to give it a try. Although the menu doesn't have the largest selection, it is very diverse. This fits well so far. The restaurant looks chic. The prices are rather high, which in turn kept our expectations just as high. The starters, primi and secondi were all beautifully executed and also super tasty! So why are there only 2 stars? Very easy: We arrived at 7:00 p.m. and after the average time to look through the menu and decide, we placed our order at about 7:15 p.m. We had an antipasto misto for 2 people and also chose the squid as a starter. By the time it arrived it was already 8:00 p.m. This has already been a very long and unexpected wait for us. The main courses didn't arrive until 9:00 p.m. Almost 2 hours waiting time. The restaurant was busy, but we noticed that other tables after us got their food beforehand. We pointed out the unusually long waiting time and then asked for the chef. He came and apologized several times. However, I found the statement very out of thin air. At first he said the kitchen was only 3 m2 and that's why they couldn't keep up with the orders. After that he just said “it is what it is”. Only after further attempts to explain did he admit that the orders had been accidentally mixed up. We were disappointed that this truth only gradually became clear. Mistakes can happen, that's not a big deal, but afterwards the customers try to appease them with bad excuses and only admitting the real mistake later is even worse. We didn't feel like we were being taken seriously. It should be said that we were all given drinks as an apology. For us, however, this was just a drop in the ocean. I think it's a shame because the atmosphere is chic and the food is very good. I still won't go by again and won't recommend it to others.

Very cozy I love this restaurant

A very nice restaurant. Unfortunately we had to wait over 50 minutes for our lunch on Saturday lunchtime. The restaurant wasn't full and when we arrived there were only two tables occupied. The ravioli was good. Unfortunately the beef tartare was disappointing. Cut too coarsely (a matter of taste) and the side dish was a nut salad that looked very dirty. It looked like it was full of dirt. I spoke to the waitress about it and she immediately contacted the kitchen. It was vanilla, although none of it was on the menu. In my opinion you couldn't taste any vanilla. Another lady came to me and explained to me by showing me the spice that it was vanilla. The ladies took my feedback very snippy; they can't really handle criticism. The plate was put back in front of me three times, as if I should please finish eating it.

Italy in St. Gallen, everything is just perfect!

You can taste that the ingredients are fresh. The Nuvola with buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and arugula was fantastic! A tip: Make sure to leave room for dessert, this cornetto with ice cream is a dream.. The lady in service was attentive, friendly and was able to answer all of our questions without batting an eyelid. Clear recommendation!

This Osteria is a real discovery! The super delicious food (e.g. Polpo and Tagliata), the beautiful wines, the attentive, warm service and the familiar and authentic Italian atmosphere. You feel like you're in Italy. Highly Recommended!
