Othmar's in Zermatt

15:00 CET and we were waiting for 30 mins for a coffee. When we asked the waiter replied very rude and we kept waiting… it’s very common in Zermatt from what we saw over the weekend

Nice place for a pit stop pint when hiking! The views are ridiculous from this location! Table service is provided by the lovely staff workers. Relax on a deck chair and enjoy the insane views of the Matterhorn. Awesome!

One of our favorite places in Zermatt - great hike over the Direttissima trail to earn the very delicious Rösti with Alaska salmon! Amazing view of the Matterhorn is a bonus - the terrace is a place where you just can sit in the deckchair for hours... Update July 2023: down in the valley over 35C, very pleasant here, the food is excellent as always and the view is wonderful...

Always nice to be at home with friends.

It's a ski-in ski-out lovely little spot with a very friendly staff, but it's reachable by snow walking/shoeing. The mushroom soup was sinfully good. Most of their menu is dedicated to dishes with Alaskan salmon and they have the best desserts around!

A must on the Sunnegga valley descent

The best food in Zermatt both on the slopes and in the town. Delicious typical Swiss food, excellent service and good vibes. Super recommended! It's a little hidden but it's worth looking for.

The best slope restaurant in all of Zermatt. Attention of 10 and the cook is great! We will return for sure. Order the rösti with egg, cheese and bacon in addition to the raclette dish.

A feast for the eyes and the stomach

It is a great place to stop for a meal/beverage, after taking the forest trail Gourmetweg for the Matterhorn panoramic view. Has a daily soup and cake. (ask waiter what it is) The rest of the menu has choices for all tastes. Friendly servers, fantastic mountain view and delicious food. Highly recommended!

Service not reasonable. Inattentive. Slow. Waited 20 min just to get a menu. After another 20 min had to walk in myself and insist to place an order for food. 😫 Waiter even had the nerve to ask for a tip🤯 Menu somewhat pricy. Food was ok. Simple dishes but nice.

The food was very good, but the price was overpriced even by Swiss standards. The service was nice but not very professional. But the view was amazing!

We stopped here after a long ski day. A hot chocolate and an Aperol Spritz. The chocolate wasn’t the best and the glass of my Aperol was dirty with lips of the previous person. It was during busy hours, so I drunk it with a straw. But no excuses when I told them when I payed. Wouldn’t go back.

Lovely mountain restaurant. If you like the freshest of salmon done 50 different ways you must come here.

Two stars because the service was generally good, except the employee walked the dog. We know the ski hut from before and it was a highlight, salmon at its finest. Today you can get salmon of the cheapest variety, but at an overpriced price. In addition, the price of wine is beyond acceptable. The location is perfect, but it's over for me because the prices are completely overpriced...

Friendly service 👍 Valais plate from the cheapest. Migro Budget and almost certainly Leerdammer cheese. Has nothing to do with Valais specialties 😡😡😡 also overpriced.

I ordered the soup of the day in almost every restaurant I went to in Switzerland and this place had the best one! My boyfriend loved the quiche as well. Also, I got injured on my hand on the way, and the staff was kind to help me sanitize and put a bandaid on it.

Unfortunately, the prices were the same as before Corona, which was disappointing. No labor costs or furniture, so no justification for the prices. The beautiful view of Horu has always been there.

Unfortunately the restaurants are closed, BUT it was nice, at least there was a coffee as a takeaway. Thanks to the team!

Possibly the best place in the world! Incredible view of Matterhorn and such a chill lounge area and super friendly hosts! Was the Perfect Little hike up from Zermatt with our 4 month old baby in our Kinderwagen. Super chill and quiet on a Tuesday afternoon and just the perfect spot to enjoy a beer, super lecker Aprikosen Torte and also a nicely made cappuccino! If I lived close by I would be here everyday!

Saturday around 3:00 p.m., we stopped at this establishment to be able to consume some refreshments. Took a seat and waited 20 minutes, then decided to leave this establishment. There were 4 people and no employee came or said hello and even if there were a few people, I found the lack of professionalism and politeness of the people who worked that day very unpleasant. I love Zermatt and I go there as often as possible but I would avoid this establishment in the future.

Nice place but it takes time to get served.

Our second stop on the Gourmet Trail hike and it didn’t disappoint! Their main attraction is the wild Alaskan salmon (either smoked, tartar or cooked) and it’s really really good. However, they have some other options as well, such as a weekly BBQ, noodles, curry, hash browns, soup or even garlic bread! The food was amazing and the service as well!

Although tables were free, you can only be served with a reservation. We didn't even get anything to drink. Not to be outdone in terms of inhospitability! And also very cool!

Disappointed. The boss has changed and the quality has declined. Damage. Fish always good but the portions are smaller and the accompaniments average. Average service.

It's resinous, it's easy to use, the chestnut cake is great and with Sunnä giz it's also five stars. . .

Very nice place but apparently not for the French, the waitress preferred to speak in German to the lady behind us and ignore us while we waited to ask if we could sit down for a hot chocolate outside. Despite my “Hallo” no response and she left without speaking to us.
