Pikante in Luzern

When you grow tired of Swiss cuisine, this place offers an enticing alternative. Legit high end Peruvian food, professionally presented in an attractive space. We ordered way too much food and ate it all.

The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was very cozy and the staff was super nice. I briefly mentioned that it was my niece's birthday and a birthday surprise came promptly with singing, cake, candle and hat. Keep it up :-)

Very friendly staff. Unfortunately, it doesn't have enough knowledge about ingredients. We were misinformed. The food was very good, but way too expensive for what it was.

The food is incredibly good, really great selection. Also a great selection of seafood and veggies. The chef's creativity flows in so that traditional dishes are understood in a new way. High quality meals and beautifully presented. We were blown away. Thanks for that. The only negative point and what really bothered us was the noise in the restaurant. It would definitely be worth investing something in the acoustics here. Therefore only 3 stars for the ambience, the restaurant is otherwise really nice.

Absolutely horrible person at reception (apparently the boss). I just came to pick someone up and they treated me like a dog and sent me out.

Delicious Peruvian cuisine with a great representative, Chef Emilio is very attentive to his guests and transmits his passion for Peru in each of his dishes. This is the second time we have had the pleasure of visiting Pikante and it definitely won't be the last time. An unmissable place for lovers of 🇵🇪 cuisine

Very tasty food! I ordered Seco Norteño and surprise dessert that evening. I haven't been 100% satisfied with the Seco norteño for a long time. Excellent! The dessert was also very tasty. I drank the Chichamorada all evening, highly recommended.

Super awesome! This is the third attempt with the family to eat at Pikante in Lucerne, unfortunately the first 2 times I had not reserved and there was no place. However, this time I advance in advance and reserve a week in advance. After a nice shopping trip with the family in the city we go to Pikante for dinner, upon our arrival we are welcomed, the atmosphere is very nice and they ask us if we wanted to eat inside or outside, the evening was excellent and we opted for the adjacent terrace. They bring us the menu card and ask us if we want to have an aperitif. For an aperitif we order: - chicha morada - Mojito - yucas fritas with huancaina sauce and truffle As strong dishes instead: - ceviche cartillero - pato & papas 3500 m Dessert: - lucuma surprise - chocolate fondant with lucuma ice cream Dishes were well presented, cooked well and very tasty. The place is very well furnished, the environment is very nice, welcoming and clean. A piece of Peru in little Switzerland. The staff very friendly. Fast service and good plating. High prices, but it was worth it because we ate really well and felt at home. The only thing I would have liked was for the chef to show up at the table to ask how it went, I would also have liked to have a chat together. We hope to be able to try other tasty dishes next time. Food fantastic, service staff very nice but with a boss like that I really felt sorry for them.

Good food - terrible service A few points about my experiences at Pikante: - The food was very good. The fish/seafood platter for 2 was very good and tasted fresh. There's nothing to complain about in terms of quality. However, the food is overpriced and the portions aren't particularly large. The plate for 2 costs almost 90 CHF. Despite the good quality of the food, this does not justify the high prices. - Now about the service: absolutely terrible. The entrance to the restaurant is cordoned off with a tape (similar to the one at the airport) (!). Despite having a reservation, you'll easily wait 5 to 8 minutes in front of the band before you're allowed in. Incredible. - No greeting from the staff, the menu is handed to you without a word and with a petrified expression. This only happened 15 minutes after we were already seated at the table, an unacceptable wait. You are simply ignored - In general, the delivery times are extremely long. We waited almost 45 minutes for the food, and you also have to wait around 20 minutes for a Pisco Sour. - Our starter was completely forgotten! Was never brought to the table. Understandably, we didn't feel like eating the spring rolls after the main course...

As appetizer we shared Yuquitas with vegan Huancaína and Makis, and as main dishes we had a Trío Marino, Seco de Cordero and Lomo with Risotto. For drinks Pisco Sour, Capitán and Chicha Morada. Everything was excellent, but the Seco was out of this world. Pikante has the authentic Peruvian portion sizes (taipá), which make up for the high prices. Here, you won't find the gourmet mini portion nonsense which is so trendy in most other "Peruvian" restaurants. Best Peruvian food I've tried in Switzerland so far.

I went with my boyfriend and we are really happy to have discovered this restaurant. The waitress were kind and spoke English, Portuguese, Spanish and German. The food was the best, I really recommend trying the food of this restaurant. Personally, I would add more variety to the dessert menu. The decoration makes feel like in Peru. They are pet-friendly.

A fabulous surprise, this Peruvian restaurant in Lucerne. We had some delicious drinks, both Pisco and a non-alcoholic Cocktail. We also loved the food. We highlight the duo of Causas and the dry northerner. In addition, the atmosphere is very pleasant (music volume and lighting) and the service is charming and very professional. We recommend it 100%

We stumbled onto Pikante this evening while walking looking for somewhere to have dinner - what luck for us!! We initally ordered two small plates [the Tostada Salmon and the daily special] and they were so amazing we ended up ordering two more plates [Tiradito - the watermelon was like tuna!! and the Duo de Causas] Every plate we had was top notch fantastic. I was honestly shocked when I checked the Michelin guide and didnt find them. The passionfruit pisco sours were fabulous as well. I would go back again without hesitation!! Also- Vanessa our server was awesome and the atmosphere was great!

Absolutely overpriced and it didn't taste good.

We didn't like it, it took them more than twenty minutes to serve us and we had to go look for them to ask them to bring us the menu. Overall the service was a disaster throughout our stay. Then, the food was very mediocre, rice that didn't have much flavor, and didn't remind me at all of Peru. The only good thing was the ceviche. The place is very expensive, more than 80, 90 per person and I really wouldn't recommend it.

Service was unfortunately not good/too slow, specially considering the prices. The ceviche and chicha morada were very good but the main dishes were rather disappointing compared to peruvian standards.

We visited a month ago - Conveniently located next to our hotel, it was a nice obvious choice after a long day of travel. The service was very friendly, they could all speak German, English and Spanish, engaging in conversations with all guests at some point. Our server successfully convinced us of each getting the Chilcano cocktail (14 CHF) which was sweet and refreshing. The food was exquisite - I had the Arroz Punta Sal (47), with a variety of seafood, full of flavor, extra salt in an oyster shell, not that the dish needed more. We were also talked into trying a special dessert (13 CHF) inspired by the chef - that day it was a pear in wine sauce, soft and sweet, a perfect ending to a fancy meal.

Cuisine was exquisite. Service perfect and highly professional. Only remark is about the terrasse which by the street with some noise from cars passing by. All of this is forgotten by the experience we have had in this remarkable place. We would come back for sure.

Food was good, service was lacking, took 30 mins to clear our finished plates, but other then that good. Price is more expensive then I would like, but it is in Switzerland.

I have been to Pikante several times now and the food and service have always been fantastic. The staff is very knowledgeable about allergies.

We arrived at 1:30 but they sat us for lunch anyway. Service was wonderful. We sat outside. We all ordered Pisko sours. Cool cocktail. Food was amazing. Beautiful presentation and delicious. Ice cream was tasty for dessert.

The best Peruvian food my wife and I have ever had!!! Unfortunately, we had aperitifs before coming to Pikante so we didn’t get to try the starters but they all looked so good! Highly recommend the Quinoa main and the short ribs (special)! Additionally, the Pisco Sour is amazing!

Big disappointment. We were there at 6 p.m. and had to leave at 7:45 p.m. Our main course came at 7.40pm! They prepared the dishes for us to take away, but the 100 main courses are no longer particularly appealing as a microwave dish... The service is friendly. Before we left they bought us a glass of wine, which unfortunately we never got. Overall the starters were okay. The ceviche was excellent. The yuca fries were bland. The portions very small. Almost outrageous for the exorbitant prices. Unfortunately no recommendation for this restaurant. It's a shame, we had high expectations and were really looking forward to the Peruvian experience.

Absolutely outstanding food, shouldn’t be missed if you’re visiting Lucerne. My husband and I struggled to recall a better meal. The dishes are incredibly tasty and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and great service.

I have never eaten Peruvian food before. I entered the restaurant curiously and we were immediately greeted in a very friendly manner. The waiting times for the menu, food and drinks weren't long and we were soon able to enjoy delicious fish and excellent seafood. Everything was seasoned to perfection and every bite kept the excitement high. In any case, we felt very comfortable in the beautiful guest room. This new kitchen for me was fun to discover. Pleasant atmosphere, very good Pisco Sours, nice service. The ceviche wasn't the best (fish a bit dry), the yucca fries weren't seasoned enough and weren't really warm. Salad too big as a starter, but ideal for sharing. I was there three times and each time the experience was a little different.

The food is good but the service is terrible. The manager/hostess is incredibly rude. She has a terrible attitude. I would have preferred not to dine there after all the bad attitude. For this reason I don't recommend it. First, they should learn manners or hire professional hosts and waiters. DO NOT come back

Great Peruvian food in Lucerne! The ceviche was perfectly seasoned and the lomo saltado was the king dish of our order! Such a great experience and would come back to this nice authentic Peruvian restaurant without a doubt. The owners are great people!

I gave this place a second chance because the first time I felt like the portions were small and the taste wasn't great for the high price. This time I went for lunch hoping to try the lunch menu. To my surprise they only had one plate. Chicken with French fries. Well, I ordered it because my Peruvian friend assured me that it was grilled chicken, a typical Peruvian dish (she even mentioned it to the waiter when she ordered) and what we got was a deep-fried breaded chicken fillet and french fries . Everything was fried, not a single other vegetable on the plate, not even for decoration. No Peruvian sauces, just ketchup and mayonnaise. The service could also be much better. I had to wait 20 minutes for my plate while the other 2 people at the table were already eating. The waiter was not at all accommodating. When I asked if I could pay my share because I had to leave before the others to go to work, he said he couldn't do separate bills. Well, we asked for the bill for everyone and he couldn't even work out what I should pay, so I had to add it up myself. And, you can't pay with Twint. *In short: It's not worth it.* It's a shame, because Peruvian cuisine can be great, but I definitely won't come back here and unfortunately I won't recommend this place.

I was a happy client who came from Neuchâtel to have dinner with my beloved husband from afar. The chef Emilio, very disrespectful, received us badly because we did not enter through the hotel door (we did not know). Anything can happen, but in the end he did not offer us any the coffee for the bad time he put us through. He is a business man but not at heart. My husband is Swiss and good as a loaf and I will never return to your BUSINESS again!!!!! 😪

A true gastronomic experience. For those who have never visited Peru, after this you will certainly want to visit!! The food is super fresh, very tasty, and here your eyes can eat too, with an out-of-this-world decor that actually makes it worth eating such a gem. The service is super attentive and friendly, they are always attentive to every detail. Anyone who comes here will want to come back to try everything on the menu. The price is not high given the quality of the food served. I highly recommend it!!!

Between the amuse bouche and the lollipop there were a few highlights. Peruvian cuisine tastes excellent. Don't worry, there are no guinea pigs on the menu.

When entering the restaurant you immediately notice the nice and cosy design and atmosphere. The service was friendly and very good. We started with a cocktail “pisco sour”, the national drink of Peru. The menu has 5 interesting options for apetitzer, starter and main course and a daily special. The food was excellent both visual and taste. If there was one complaint it would be that my partner did not find the chairs comfortable for a long dinner session.

The flavors that come together here are a symphony for the palate 👌 Dessert didn't convince us 100% the first time, but everything else was exceptional! We love the starter trio and the warm and traditional cevice ❤️🥰 Somo Saltado with the beans is my favorite main course 👌 Price is in the higher segment. The third time is already planned, we are looking forward to it 😉

The Spicy proves that you don't need a star or points to be at the top. The ambience invites you to linger and the food makes you fall in love. There is no restaurant in Lucerne and the surrounding area where I can eat so well for this money and it is in my top 3 culinary experiences that I have had. We'd love to come back very soon!

I booked a table for 8, with more than 2 weeks in advance, when we arrived the host told me that I changed the reservation for 6 in a super rude way, I showed her my email and she insisted that I changed the reservation. Then I checked my inbox and they have send me an email 20 min before that my reservation was changed. That have never happened to me and with that rude attitude from the host. After a while she recognized and they placed an extra table. At the end the food was really tasty, as Peruvian food is. The ceviche and the dessert were my favorites. Some options are way overpriced.

If with my review I can help someone , even one , to avoid this place , then my sooo very bad experience will not have been in vain . This is fusion cuisine at its worst . The patatas yucas , what a joke , tasteless , as if nobody bothered with them . A dish with pork , ( they also serve it with duck) was absolutely dry and overcooked , the interims between meals inexplicably long , the service , well what can I possibly say about Sandra . That she does not belong in the hospitality business for sure . Maybe her family does not object to her stern , authoritative, almost dictatorial behavior . A guest who pays to be served, however , expects and deserves a smile . Not by her though . Not from the queen of ice . The lollipop stand at the end , what a joke. Cringe . Yes the chef is handsome for sure , as he made sure that you admire his photo in the entrance . Tacky . Don’t believe the raving reviews like I did , because people lately don’t bother to warn others . They just don’t care .

Incredible Peruvian corner in central Switzerland. We went for two days and on both days it was spectacular. And everyone's attention was excellent and very attentive. The dessert "Sorpresa de Lucuma" is spectacular. Thank you!!

Peruvian ⁉️ What Peruvian? A family dinner full of expectations, that ended to sheer disappointment! Indifferent welcome, a decor hardly transmitting you to Peru, extremely slow service, and dishes of completely indifferent and blunt taste! The tasteless potatoes would definitely earn the prize of the most overrated ingredient, for which this ‘joint’ of a restaurant is taking pride of. We were served by a member of the staff, whose authoritative attitude certainly provides hospitality with a bad name. Apparently the management of Picante aims in snatching the money of the inconspicuous customers, rather than offering a pleasant experience to people looking for a descent dinner, prepared to pay a dear price for it. What a sad experience! (Not deserved a single photo!)

There is too little of what they serve and the food was not as good as in Peru... but the loin was very soft.

Fantastic restaurant. The food was delicious and unique. The ceviche with aji amarillo was super fresh and tasty, and the risotto with the lomo saltado was also a dream. The dessert was also very tasty and the seafood amuse-bouche was sensational. A big compliment to the boss and also to Sandra and the waitress who served us. Everyone was very personable and friendly. Definitely worth a visit!

Great tradicional and typical Peruvian food. The ceviche was perfectly seasoned and the fish portion was very well served. The meat plate was tender, perfectly seasoned and well combined side dishes. The dessert and the Pisco sour were also delicious. Overall, great experience and would love to come back!

A must try destination if you're in luzerne. Their passion for the food comes through in every aspect of the dinner experience.

Luzern is a beautiful city, teeming with a confluence of architectural styles, outdoor activities and lodging options to provide a world class experience for its unending flood of visiting tourists from around the globe. All of which makes it difficult to explain why the restaurant scene is relatively limited. Aside from the typical “Swiss“ offerings for meat and cheese lovers, there is a surprising lack of diversity and creativity when it comes to the available cuisine. Fortunately, for those brave enough to veer off the tourist track, a wonderful dining experience awaits at the restaurant Pikante. A small but tastefully designed space exudes a warm welcome, paying homage to the cuisine of Peru. Authentic ceviches, along with the perfectly prepared and balanced Pisco Sours, are just the start of a wonderful dining experience. The menu is diverse, the wine and cocktail lists are strong, and the food lives up to its reputation. All of which is delivered with grace and enthusiasm by a well trained and capable staff operating (and often assisted) by the attentive hostess Sandra Silva. We were surprised at how quickly three hours passed at Pikante. It’s just that good. The fact the it also is reasonable in its pricing is just dulce on the pastel! WORTH EVERY ONE OF ITS FIVE STARS!

This restaurant has extremely delicious food. The best peruvian food I’ve ever had and the best meal in Switzerland. We specially stopped in Luzern on the way to Amsterdam to eat here again. The chef, Emilio, specially explained everything on the menu each time we came and also customized the menu to make it vegetarian. The staff, the lovely personality of the chef and the flavours of the food all make this a must visit if you are in the vicinity.
