Pizzeria Barone in Frauenfeld

Italians with some drawbacks, were there for dinner. The old established staff is snooty and arrogant. I would like to point out that certain sayings are simply not funny and then people don't laugh. Thank you very much for the involuntary entertainment. Food is mediocre Italian prepared mush. Pizzas are okay, prices are ok too. Even if grappa and espresso are on the house, it doesn't improve the overall impression.

Unfortunately, I have had diarrhea since Saturday after my visit to Restaurant Baron. I ordered veal liver...it was supposed to come grilled and with lots of onions and it was in a sauce, not grilled and without onions...I accepted it that way, although I wasn't happy, but now I regret it, it gave me diarrhea. I'll never be a baronet again.

The visit on Saturday was great. The ess2 tasted very good, the house wine was good and we sat in the vaulted cellar where it was a lot quieter than upstairs. I'd love to come back.

Price-performance ratio top, super friendly and great ambience in the vaulted cellar. Perfect for meetings followed by food. Some technology like a screen and projector would be cool, but otherwise an ideal room.

The service was unfriendly when ordering and cleared the plates while my companion was still eating. The pizza was great. I recommend picking them up instead of eating there.

Coffee was rather expensive at 6 francs for 3 sips but tasted good. Staff was unfriendly towards me. As a guest I didn't feel welcome.

Food was very good. The pizza was a good size. Other menus were a bit too small in quantity. I wasn't impressed by the service. The interaction was rather cold and the facial expressions spoke for themselves. After eating we weren't asked if we would like to drink again; everyone's drinks were empty. When the waiter asked who wanted dessert, I ordered something to drink again, the others weren't asked. In the end we wanted to pay, everyone already had their wallets on the table and we were ignored even though we were the only ones next to another table and the employees made the tables next to us.

My first visit to Restaurant Barone was an absolute success. Pleasant and cheerful staff. We celebrated a child's birthday. The pizza was excellent, the appetizer was phenomenal. Special thanks to the waiter Felicia. For his wonderful communication with children, for the treats. Children and adults were thrilled. And at the end I was pleasantly surprised that we were offered coffee. That is more than any praise. I will definitely go there again and recommend it to others. Super Service. I'm thrilled 👍👍👍

I definitely recommend this establishment as the best restaurant in Frauenfeld. The restaurant is suitable for both a corporate party and a romantic date. We celebrated a child's birthday. Thanks for the great atmosphere. The pizza was made as we wanted. And we are very picky guests. They also made a delicious cheese slice, it went well with the fine wine. Service at the highest level. I have not met such friendly staff anywhere in Switzerland. Cozy restaurant. Beautiful interior. Refined and delicious menu. Thank you 💛💙 Wish: I really miss the music in the institution. Quiet and background music would be very appropriate. If a nice lounge was playing, the atmosphere would be more romantic.

Pizza dough good, toppings good, taste bland (herbs, etc.), same with gnocchi and lasagne, house wine was at room temperature, i.e. about 25 degrees... Update 10/30/23: After reception, we were immediately taken to the 1st floor, where we were shown to a beautiful table in a beautifully renovated room. My gnocchi pollo was well seasoned the day before yesterday, but the spinach tortellini was still very bland and the house wine was still warm. The plates etc. were brought by staff, the order taking and billing was more Swedish-cool than Italian-warm.

Very nice garden restaurant. The pizza was excellent. The salad for the starter was rather boring and watery and the bread served with it was no longer very fresh. Unfortunately there is only Falken Lager beer. It would be nice if the selection here was a little larger. The staff was super friendly and at the end there was an espresso and grappa. The prices are fair for the service provided.

Very loud, conversation not possible, rude, impatient service, carelessly prepared food, very mediocre taste, we didn't feel very welcome, it was more of a check-in. It would be nice if the waiter would at least look at you and not just look through you!

Price performance does not match. Unfortunately, the food wasn't convincing either. The risotto was very fattening with a lot of mascarpone and oil that didn't match the salmon. We wanted something light to eat.

We were there for dinner yesterday. I don't understand the reviews that have been given here. We were rather disappointed. I had a seafood salad that didn't even deserve the name. Still thawed prawns piled high with cocktail sauce and pieces of canned squid, small portion for 22.- freedom. Pizza was ok good base. My gnoggis were ok, only found 2 pieces of porcini mushrooms and bacon. I don't think we'll go to the Barone anymore. Price performance is absolutely not right.

Very attentive and organized service

We had pre-ordered as a group. The seating was very, very tight, although there would have been more free space. The service was very impatient and unfriendly. The food took a long time to arrive, the people at the next table who arrived about 30 minutes before us received their food earlier. At least the food was good.

A nice pizzeria in the middle of Frauenfeld. The service was very friendly and the espresso and schnapps were on the house. The food was good and was delivered relatively quickly. A small point of criticism would be the toilet facility in the basement, which unfortunately smelled damp like masonry. There is room for improvement there. Prices are on the higher end of the scale, but the city location probably comes at a price. A nice evening in good gastronomy, I'll be back!

Pumpkin soup was bland. Had veal schnitzel with mushroom sauce and fries Veal schnitzel was also bland and it's a shame that for this price the fries came out of the oven and weren't quite cooked through

We had a celebration day today, so we went out for dinner. We received a very friendly welcome and were shown the reserved table. The question immediately followed as to whether this table was suitable or whether we wanted another one. We sat down and were immediately asked for an aperitif or a drink. We ordered the drink and were given the menu. After ordering we immediately received the salad. Afterwards the pizzas were served. These were very richly topped and were very tasty. When paying we noticed that the 2 espressos were missing from the bill. The waiter we spoke to explained to us that the two espressos were part of the meal and were therefore good. They also offer 2 “distributors”. Chapeau - that's exemplary and very noble.

My first visit to Barone was an absolute success. Nice and humorous staff, from the server to the boss. The food was phenomenal, the starter was fresh, large cozze in a delicious broth and afterwards lasagna like Nonna's! The only criticism would be the panna cotta, it was fine. Unfortunately, it was well below the high standard of the other dishes.

My favorite Italian in the city. Very friendly staff, good selection and top quality. Also very tasty wines at fair prices. The restaurant is super cozy and in summer you can sit outside. Price/performance is probably the best in the whole of Frauenfeld.

Very pleasant atmosphere and really excellent cuisine. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. We had two delicious summer dishes, both of which were really enjoyable. The service was also pleasant. Fast, efficient and friendly. The location is good, you can get there easily on foot or by car. It doesn't have a view, but it's definitely worth a visit!

Very unfriendly service! That was more of a check-in even though the restaurant was almost empty at 1 p.m. The food, for the quantity and quality, is absolutely overpriced!! Even the free coffee, liqueur and scoop of ice cream couldn't make up for that! (He didn't ask if we wanted that either, as a diabetic I don't have any of that) After paying, the ashtray was taken from us: a signal: please leave now?!?! Catastrophe!! Not like that anymore... what a shame!

Value for money is right! Food was warm and tasty. Unfortunately the seating is a bit tight. Staff was okay, they just looked relatively dissatisfied (there were two waitresses and both looked pretty dissatisfied). Selection on the menu was Italian, no major excesses, I thought that was very good. Accordingly, the food was also good and tasty because the kitchen specializes in Italian dishes.
