We were there on Sunday. The café was well attended and we were warmly welcomed. The owner immediately gave us a place to sit. That was great. But: - we only had a menu for 7 people, then the service was annoyed because we needed a little longer (with one menu) - the non-smoking area smells very much of smoke because the doors to the smoking area were open. A no go for us. - the ice cream/drinks/cake came very quickly, great - Ambience is more like a bar. Maybe that's what it's supposed to be, rather uncomfortable for a coffee We are in two minds and wouldn't go there again. If smoke doesn't bother you, you'll find a very courteous and kind owner.

Poorly organized and bad atmosphere in the team. I didn't get a bill at the end as usual, but the waitress calculated the total using her cell phone calculator. When asked, she quoted 4.50 CHF per ice cream scoop and 2 CHF for cream, which I definitely find too expensive, especially given the service.

Exciting Oldscool location with smoker lounge. Good selection in the small humidor. Very friendly service and really attentive. It's not always easy to just sit wherever you want, as we were relocated in the empty restaurant -1*. We'll keep trying and try it out for ourselves, it's definitely worth it!

Home Fondue is really good! Chicken salad is classic

I find the service friendly. The PRICES, on the other hand, are not worth it at all. The price for half a liter of wine was over 30 fr. The bratwurst from the mulled wine house to eat inside was 9 fr. And the lady didn't say that it's so expensive if you eat it inside...it's a shame :-((

We had an appointment on Saturday evening. Nice and quiet, comfortable armchairs (left area near the bar) and fine cocktails. Service was nice. I didn't eat anything :)

Very incompetent staff brought me and my companion a homemade iced tea even though we said we would like a normal iced tea! But it was only afterwards that we were told that there was no normal iced tea.

We were served very unfriendly, by the boss herself. That was my last visit to Café Promenade. I have never witnessed anything like this. I thought I was in the wrong movie.

Long waiting times.....Drinks that should be cold are lukewarm.....You wait forever to pay, service staff don't look when you call them.

First you wait a long time until a waitress comes, then with two people at the table she only takes the order from one and leaves. When she is told that the second person at the table would also like to order, she gets a stroppy answer.

Went to this restaurant again after a long time to eat a good ice cream. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed because the service was poor because we had to wait a long time until someone finally came to serve us, even though there weren't many guests. She then brought the ice cream, but unfortunately the wrong ice cream because we had ordered something else. In addition, the prices are exorbitant, because the coupes are a lot smaller than before, but the price is a lot higher...

Unfortunately, this restaurant has delivered EXTREMELY. It used to be great, but today it's a flop! The coup now looks like a child's coup. Two small scoops of ice cream with cream cost an incredible 13.50! Was there perhaps gold in the coup? or how do you justify such a high price for two scoops of ice cream with a little cream? At first my little daughter said it was her coup since he was so small. The price has increased, but the quantity of ice cream has unfortunately done the opposite. The service used to be friendlier too.

It is simply a no go if you can no longer order coffee at 10 p.m. (the machine has already been cleaned) if the café (café???) is open until 11 p.m.

Softice WITH alcohol served to CHILD!!!! This afternoon I had a small softice with eggnog for myself and one with chocolate for my 8-year-old daughter. After we had to wait 5 minutes, the unfriendly service came. Since my daughter didn't like the ice cream anymore, I finished eating it and discovered that, in addition to the chocolate, there was EGG LOGUE in it!!! We went back to report this because I think that's an absolute no-go!!! The unfriendly waitress then sniffed it and said it wasn't true. What a cheek. Actually, I would have liked to write to a superior, but they don't even have an email address :-( Therefore, Promenade, NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Friday evening at 10:10 it means we're already finished, but the closing time isn't until 11:00 The waitress was also very cheeky...a shame

Despite the empty terrace, the service manages to keep the consumer waiting (order 6.7 minutes - pay 10.12 minutes). Since she doesn't receive a tip for such service, she slams the remaining money onto the table without saying a word and walks away. Compliments that such a business survived the Covid period...

The ice cream is far too expensive, the service too hectic and barely versed in colloquial language.

Formerly known as THE best place for a coupe etc. but definitely not anymore! Despite the majority of tables being empty (just had to be cleared), it took 15 minutes until we were noticed. A waitress loudly and clearly snapped at the other waiter in front of us in an annoyed tone that this was his table. When he came to take the order we were first blinded by his Hawaiian shirt open to the belly button and long chains around his neck (NOT WORKING AT ALL) before we realized the language barrier. 2 Frappés, a Coupe Romanoff and 2 iced coffees were ordered. A small adjustment was requested for an iced coffee (instead of mocha ice cream, vanilla ice cream). This was discussed back and forth for a long time (that is not possible), so it was finally agreed to bring a scoop of vanilla separately and the guest would be responsible for emptying it (see image). We as guests couldn't understand this at all since this had always been possible up to now (no stirred iced coffee). In addition, the frappée was split and we had to leave it standing. (see image) It's a real shame but we won't go there again and don't recommend it to anyone

The homemade ice cream is still very good. We even found 2 places. I'd love to come back. service Staff keep it up.

I was eating, drinking, dessert, etc. with a colleague... That means a big order. A woman asked me if we could change places (we were eating) and I said no, I was eating.... After a few seconds, the woman from the resteurant took our food away and left it at the other table. In short say catastrophe comes in a large group and you are worse than an animal!! Definitely the last time here Can't you eat in peace when more money comes (large group)!

At the moment there is the fondue house, which is beautifully decorated. BUT, the fondue was not good! We decided on the truffle fondue and unfortunately we didn't taste any of the truffle. It tasted strongly of garlic, nothing of the truffle. After we told the waitress this, the only answer was that they saw the black dots, that was the truffle. We love truffle fondue and enjoy eating it. This truffle fondue is not recommended!

The boss takes care of the guests personally. Every guest is greeted personally. Fast service despite being busy. Go and take a picture yourself. Recommended!

First the positive: friendly and fast service. Now the negative: Latte Macciato and Cappucino were inedible. Cappucino had a milk cap that was far too big. The coffee itself also had a strange taste. We ordered a Coupe Denmark. The chocolate sauce was more pudding than sauce and way too bitter. The vanilla ice cream also had an unusual aftertaste. The prices are pretty steep and not worth the money at all. We also think that a person working in a catering establishment should not have fingernails that are approx. 3cm long. (Hygiene) Conclusion: Once and definitely NEVER again!!!

Eating ice cream again today. This time we encountered overwhelmed staff. It took forever to get the bill. The bill only showed the final amount, but not what was consumed. SO control becomes difficult. The bottom line was that we left annoyed. The ice cream is still top and one of the best in the region. So if you buy an ice cream to take away at the side entrance, you get a full 4-5 stars. Unfortunately I have to deduct a star for the outdoor/indoor area as of today.

It's shocking how the boss (plus another employee) treats the staff. I just wanted to have some tea in the restaurant. Employees were constantly “put down” and humiliated. This is not how you treat employees. Hats off to how professionally the employees worked despite this behavior. Please take a better look at your employees!

Friendly service, but it was also open outside. The Swrvice staff had to constantly go in and out. Which means the door was constantly open, which became uncomfortable and cool in the long run. So we had to sit there with the jackets. A somewhat unfortunate solution for both the guests and the staff.

Went to the Promenade for lunch today, 1x menu and 1x à la carte meal. Both were excellently cooked and served very friendly. Highly recommended.

After 35 MINUTES the waitress asked if we could please order. After another 10 MINUTES she came back saying she had FORGOT the order!! Then the order came, but she forgot the drink from our 2 year old son. After another few minutes had passed, our son was very thirsty at 32 degrees outside, I went in to get the syrup myself and only heard from the waitress (black hair, young) People can't wait a bit on Sunday?!?! Rarely have I experienced such poor service... THAT WAS THE LAST TIME WE WERE WITH YOU Suggestion: Find better staff, according to the other reviews we are not an isolated case!

The restaurant "Promenade" in a prominent location in Frauenfeld is known and very appreciated for its homemade "soft ice". The service is super friendly and very attentive. I always enjoy going to the Promenade Restaurant! You should visit in Frauenfeld!

Overpriced, eaten tartare was ok. For another half of toast you have to pay .50 cents per piece 😂😂. The service was arrogant.

We were disappointed with the place because the service was slow, the order was messed up. Terrible coffee, torn tablecloth. There is no wi-fi, the staff did not speak English and communication did not work until the arrival of a girl from the staff, to whom we were able to pay the bill.

Would be a nice place (for 3 ☆) to linger, really cool under the big trees. But the service leaves a lot to be desired. The service employee didn't speak German, asked dozens of times and didn't bring everything, she had forgotten the rest (despite the note). We were only 4 later 5 people! When she brought the rest she became angry and cheeky because we were talking and she hadn't remembered who ordered what. She was more interested in whether I was the others' mother, which was none of her business. When paying, after asking three times, crossing it out, writing it down again, she couldn't even add everything up. Apparently there is no receipt system or she didn't know about it. All in all I was there 3 times, the first and the last and the only time.

The star is only given for the fine homemade softice. The service is lousy (we had to wait more than 15 minutes for anyone to come) and slow (the ice cream was already melted when it was served). The sauces over the soft ice cream taste store-bought and industrial. And the price for the whole thing is beyond good and evil.

Is heavily visited in summer. Fine, homemade ice cream, the food is delicious. But: Irritable boss, long waiting times, high prices and customers are not treated equally. The location is central, but overall you would expect more.

You eat very well here. This time I had Coupe Raspberry, with vanilla and raspberry ice cream, fresh raspberries, and cream. It was really very fine, the raspberry ice cream was simply delicious. But it is advisable to take time with you as it is very well attended.

Opening times are very variable, which I find very annoying, the website is not adapted is a nogo0 and Corona is not to blame.

There was nothing to complain about with what was served, but the service was really catastrophic. You had to wait forever for the staff to come to you when you asked for them. Then you had to wait another long time until the order arrived. Especially because it only included three simple drinks. As if that wasn't enough, you had to waste a good quarter of an hour until the bill finally came. Definitely never again.
