Rathaus Café in Zürich

We had a fine café here with wonderful cakes. The service is much friendlier than many places in Zurich. Only the toilet could be a little bigger

Cafe with the great view, and good drinks!

As a kebab enthusiast, I can say with absolute conviction: this kebab shop is the true king of taste in the entire country! With every bite it feels like a firework of flavors is exploding in my mouth - in the best possible way! The kebab is so delicious that sometimes I forget I even ate it because I want another one straight away! It's like a culinary love affair - only without the drama afterwards! So if you are looking for a kebab that will not only satisfy your hunger but also touch your soul, then this place is an absolute must! 10/10, would come here again and again, even if I already have a kebab in my hand!

The three of us waited 25 minutes for service directly at the bar (in view!). Well…bye

Small cosy cafe with great view on the river; it makes you feel good. Service is friendly. Prices are high and espresso is poor, croissant was dry as dust.

Food was good and outside seating is something that is excellent. However, be ready to face racism if you are outside of Europe. The server was very rude which left us with sour taste. We come and spend in your nation, have some respect for tourists, especially when you know that the main source of revenue is from tourism!! Shame!!

Courteous service, great ambience on the Limmat

9:45 p.m. Launch and garden still well attended. I'm looking forward to a 🍺. Waiters and bartenders chat without wanting to serve guests. 9:50 p.m. the waiter announces that they are closing. When I ask, I'm told it's the last lap and that's it. It's better to have no staff than someone who scares away the guests. I would dismiss him subito... I would happily recommend a beer at Philosophy. LG Bruno

Nice and nice bar, ideal for having a drink or just enjoying a delicious coffee.

Of course you have to wait a little on Saturday. Employees are nice and quick. Drinks are ok, but could use a little more alcohol. Otherwise the location is beautiful and you can see so much.

The Rathaus cafe is located in a beautiful location, but the service and food do not correspond to the high standard that this location deserves. The service staff is quite cheeky and has little knowledge about the menu on offer. Furthermore, the food is usually still a little frozen (cake or ciabbatta). The glasses served have not been washed and there are still traces left by previous guests. It's a shame about the lost potential this location has.

Nice location, delicious Aperol, prices high, probably normal for Zurich. Unfortunately there are no alternative milk options available. We celebrated my birthday here and when my friend told the employee, we got shots “on the house” without asking, which we ultimately had to pay for. We didn't find it okay, hence only 2 stars.

Bad service, 15 minutes wait and only after my order request were we noticed.... brought the wrong order and I still had to pay for it... never again

Very very bad service. We waited 30 minutes for a seat and then the waiter wanted to add 3 strangers to our table. It's a shame about such a beautiful location.

no organization of table distribution. Everyone just sits all over the place. No matter who is in the queue. When queuing for a table, we were not showered. We were greeted very rudely. When we asked if there was a free table, the waiter brushed me off with his hand without saying a word and then ignored us. When a seat became available after 20 minutes and we just sat down, he insisted that we share the seat, which was for a maximum of 3 people, with another 3 strangers. Simply unbelievable, no effort was made to find another solution. Also to mention, I never write reviews, but I couldn't hold back here!

Spring is finally here so the Rathaus has this superb terrace by the water. A simple menu, correct prices, generally pleasant welcome with the exception of a waiter who, in wanting to be overzealous with American customers, forgot the little French girl.... too bad.

For 5 sFr a café is totally fine.

I just had a hot chocolate. Did not like. I found it common.

Great café with friendly staff and delicious latte machiato. I ordered a coffee and accidentally spilled it. The nice waitress immediately helped me clean my clothes and brought me a new coffee on the house. The café also has a beautiful view of the water.

Very nice location. But the service is subpar. You sit and wait to order but are ignored. After 15 minutes I left again.

We sat ourselves down after a day of wandering the city, waited 20 mins for someone to come around, only to have a family sit down on the couches next to us and be served before us. We got up and left as we felt we weren’t valued customers.

After waiting 35 minutes for two beers, a wine and a latte and seeing that they hadn't even started preparing our order, we told the waitress that we were leaving, at which point the waiter greeted us in a very asked to leave in an arrogant tone and said that we were suffering from great stress. The waitress was at least polite enough to apologize. We will not return to this place again.

A beautiful location. But it is a bit strange that euro notes are not accepted. The service was also moderately friendly. The capuccinos to go were good, but the cups were too small so that the milk overflowed, which was very inconvenient to take when it all dripped.

We found the cafe on google and came all the way from interlaken to visit this place. We ordered cakes and coffee but the waiter was so rude and in response before serving, he said i am busy with customer and on the way“go and eat from somewhere else”… i mean really ? How you deal with tourists ? We were also customers.. pathetic attitude by the person. I will not recommend this place now.

Slow service, bad drinks, no snacks and using unsuitable glasses for certain drinks is not recommended.

It's really wonderful to have a drink here by the river, unfortunately it was very unpleasant - the sous chef constantly noticed his employee in front of everyone.

There were 10 people in the restaurant and we were only served after about 17 minutes.

We stopped for a quick drink after work. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality - my wife had a Campari and I picked a simple beer, but both were very good, at a fair price. We relaxed and enjoyed the afternoon sun, a great way to prepare for dinner. If you plan to go there on the weekend - watch out! There can be queues at peak hours!

3 waiters joking around behind the bar while your snack is burning in the Owen…45 min for a bruschetta. And again, not because of the many people. Update - after seeing the ciabatta for some time on the bar with the waiters ignoring it, I had to take it myself. Of course it was a pre-baked frozen sort of pizza. Not sure how it could be worse

Most poorly made cocktails I’ve ever had

Great location! Unfortunately we had to wait at least 15 minutes for our two drinks even though there wasn't really much going on and the service barely understood us. Unfortunately, the plastic glass for the Hugo doesn't really have any style either. But the drink and cake were very good. I will certainly come again - I would appreciate faster service next time.

Sitting in the center of Zurich. A good place to take a coffee break. It's usually hard to find a seat when the weather is good. The service staff is always quick and friendly.

Its a bar with outside service and the waiters are reasonably fast and the selection of drinks is OK but somewhat brief.

Nice place to sit. Way to busy for te amount of waiters. After 20 minutes of trying to get attention to order something we left. Even the person across the table from us said it to them and still no action. Very sad..

Always a pleasure to take a break from shopping/seeing Zurich. It's ideally located between the Limmat and Niederdorf and has a little wind even on the hottest days. Nice service, refreshing drinks. Prices ok.

I went with my husband for the first time 2 weeks ago and it was a wonderful experience, an idyllic atmosphere and the guys were very nice and professional. We hope we come back, we loved it.

Very friendly service from the older lady. Enjoyed an excellent coffee on the sidewalk and also saw the cozy interior rooms, made of beautiful woods.
