Welcome to the "Rattäloch" Thun - the Louvre of misery. The bouncer? A boxer in civilian clothes. Here you don't just pay admission, you buy a ticket to a dystopian reality. The prices? Astronomical, with the gold standard for any drink. Even your small fortune seems insufficient for a dry throat. And the beer? More ancient than an Egyptian mummy and served in glasses that obviously follow the motto 'the more uses the better'. The “Rattäloch” does what it promises. Come by if you want to discover the lowest end of the bar world. Don't forget your own glass, disinfectant and boxing gloves. Bottom up!

If you want to experience something in Thun, a visit to the Rattäloch is just right. Super great and lovely service staff, delicious drinks and always something to keep you entertained. Always happy to come back.

It's great there and the opening times are awesome since there hasn't been anything else smart since the Selve closed. The staff is friendly and the security also tries hard to do their job as well as possible. By the way, respect because depending on the customer who may have looked a little too deeply into the glass, it can sometimes be difficult, but in my opinion they manage it very well. What's a bit of a shame is that the space in the rat hole is very cramped, which leads to you stepping on each other's toes for better or for worse, but otherwise fair prices and good sound 👍😎. Therefore 4 stars because of the place although 5 would also be appropriate if the place were bigger. Yes, unfortunately you can't have everything. I'd love to come back for a nightcap😏

Rat Hole was a very positive experience for me. Met a lot of new rats, grandpa was very happy when he met an old war chamberlain (Rattensuppe of the IV, President of the current Rat Republic). They both drank a schnapps (grandpa died) and then I also ordered a schnapps, but it was still within the expiry date (harvest 1826, was so-so). Grandpa tasted like pork (I never noticed whether he was really grandpa or a pig) and the rats were indescribably happy with our visit.

Gang better hei from dert härä... everyone who sees this as a sensible, cool bar has a very sad life... it starts at the entrance, incompetent, unfriendly, gorilla bouncers who randomly cause pointless discussions and escalations at the entrance. .. when you're inside, unfriendly, incompetent staff... since this bar is the only one in the city of Thun that's open after 3 a.m., you don't need to be friendly, people still come out of necessity for lack of an alternative. That's why the audience in this place are stranded consolation prizes who actually want to go home, but the train doesn't leave for another 3 hours... that also contributes to the ambiance in this manure hole...

Never again! Leave the bar for a moment to get some fresh air. When I returned the bouncer refused me entry. I supposedly threw chairs around. After a few minutes he corrected his statement and it was no longer chairs but glasses 🤦‍♂️ Until then, I had a cozy and fun evening with friends. We behaved in a friendly and correct manner at all times. Pure arbitrariness on the part of the bouncer!

We always end up at the famous Ratteloch. Whether normal or a bit boozy, it's always fun and there's a great atmosphere.

As the name suggests, it is actually a "rat hole". This is not meant negatively in any way. Since "Open End" is taken really seriously, you also meet the somewhat sadder characters who only go home when nothing is really going on anymore. Certainly worth a visit if you really don't feel like going to bed.

You end up here you know you should be at home in bed.
