Delicious burgers, great local craft beer selection, friendly service.

Came here with friends on Karfreitag (oops). We made sure to reserve in advance. At first glance, it looks like a basement pub with limited decor. The menu is not exhaustive, but still caters to everyone. All burgers are made medium, unless specified differently— this means the meat is fresh, folks! I haven’t had a good burger in a long time - and this one was great. I even had fresh jalapeños and not the pickled jar kind. One thing was that the others said there was quite a lot of mayonnaise on the burgers. That was the only thing that we could think of collectively that could have been improved. Highly recommend to come here! Prices are also decent.

AWESOME burgers! Highly recommend for a good feed that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. Decent serving size of chips with a large burger (great value for $). Got 'The Samurai' chicken burger and 'Mr Bean' veg burger. Vibe was awesome, played great music and nice setting/friendly staff. We also loved that they give you two bottles of sauce (mayo + tomato) instead of a small portion as most places do.

Great resturant. One of the best burger places i have ever eaten in. Very high quality of products and very fresh. What was amazing is that what you see at the marketting pictures of the resturant, the humburger pictures, with proffesinal phtographer, is really what you get. Thats why i didnt take pictures of the food as i always do...and the tastes...WOW. We ate 4 people, different burgers and all were amazing. My daughter ate the vegiterian one and really enjoyed it. In addition, and not less important, the prices for dinner were fair and not like in most places in Zermatt where the dinners are really expensive and do not taste that good. I really recommend this one without second thought. Thank you Republic Zermatt and see u again soon.

Got the El Burger, french fries and a Guinness. The burger itself was 5 star, every ingredient was done perfectly! Would have given this place 5 stars overall except he French fries weren't great (a bit soggy) and the Guinness was not good at all, very bitter and watery. But you come back again for the burger, it was savage

Came here with high expectations given the reviews. I ordered the spicy burger but specifically asked for jalapeños on the side, a request the server said would be no problem. After about 40 minutes later, our food arrived - with a mound of jalapeños on the burger underneath the cheese. The server apologized that the kitchen was busy so they “forgot” about the request. As I disappointedly began picking off the many jalapeños, and pulling off all the cheese attached to them, the server ran back, and said “oh wait this one is yours” and replaced the burger in front of me with another burger - that also didn’t follow my request and had the jalapeños on the burger. (I don’t know what happened to the first burger, I am hoping they didn’t give to another customer because I had already touched it trying to get the jalapenos off). The burger would have been good if I didnt have to take all the jalapenos off, and thus the cheese, with them. Worst of all though, my wife who ordered the pulled pork got very sick in the night - vomiting and diarrhea. Bottom line: if you are going to pay 40 CHF for a burger, they should be able to get the orders right and not give customers food poisoning! Better off getting a 3 CHF burger from McDonalds just down the road. Very disappointing.

This burger joint is just wunderbar. Burger is very tasty, beer selection is quite good, staff are attentive and professional. Definitely recommend.

Decent selection of beer. Several good burgers to choose from. I had the mariachi burger which was mildly spicy as indicated. It felt odd to order something Mexican in Switzerland but the staff spoke Spanish and the burger was authentically tex-mex. I didn't get the nachos but if I go back, I'll make sure to order them. Fries were really well seasoned.

Before you say anything, I know, why go for a burger while in Zermatt? Why not fondue or something more “Swiss”, right? Let me tell you right now, this was hands down probably the best burger I have ever had!!! The meat was seasoned perfectly, bread was freshly baked and everything just went together. Usually with burgers this big, they may be underwhelming but this one did not disappoint at all!! And the staff was super friendly and made the experience truly worth it. This is what a burger is supposed to taste like!!!

Very nice waiters and one of the best salads of my life

Det waiter argued with us that we had to pay for a drink we didnt order. He was mad and gave the worst service me and my friends has experienced. Not going back there.

These are not the best burgers in Zermatt, but the best burgers in the WORLD!! As long as you like burgers with a bit of sophistication, you will find what you are looking for here. The ingredients are original, without going overboard. Tasty mixtures are created, but the essentials remain... fatty and salty😋 I had the smoked jack. I'll go back and pick that one up.

We dined here thrice (Mon 20 Nov & Thur 23rd Nov & 30 Nov 2023). It’s tucked away on a side street but still convenient to get to from the main street. The side street is just after the Fuchs Backerei cafe on the main street on the left. There is a signage. Quite a cozy spacious pub. The burgers are excellent, even better than another popular pub down the road - real tasty hearty burgers - the real deal! They will cut it in half if requested. Comes with the sweet potato fries or potato fries (we preferred the former). We also had the duck salad which came with a great asian fusion dressing and lots of interesting salads which is not the usual run of the mill. Very delicious and the best salad I have had ever! We also tried the wings but I requested it plain with the sauce on the side. I didn’t even need to dip it in the sauce as it was tasty on its own. The menu is on their website. Very friendly service by Michel, Delfina and another guy with glasses. The fruity beer “Valaisanne Juicy IPA “ recommended was so good.

The hidden gem in Zermatt. Amazing place,food,staff. As a chef myself ,the burgers are the best ones I’ve tried yet. So if you’re in Zermatt this is the right place for you and most importantly you actually GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! because most places in the village, food is crazy overpriced for no reason. Totally recommend and i will visit again and again! Great job guys. Lots of love from Greece!

Attention Korean people! This is a really good restaurant. Honestly, I have a hard time eating in Switzerland.. ㅇㅈ? All you have to do is trust what you say and just go. Not to mention the hamburger, it's a shame I couldn't eat the nachos and chicken wings... It looks really delicious just by looking at it... Let's not compare prices with Hancook, but eat delicious food even though it is expensive anyway. Trust your words and run. The squad leader commands. Charge forward!! PS. There are a lot of people and reservations, so hurry up!!

1. Hamburger A hamburger that not only Koreans but everyone will like. What we ordered was grilled BBQ and beef! Beef patty is a work of art 2. Gamtu Malmo,, it's really delicious. Be sure to add it. We ordered 1 fried potato and 1 sweet potato. 3. Server Infinitely friendly. It was really busy because it was a pub. There were no seats so I had to sit in the long pub seats. But he kept smiling and saying that food would be served soon. Thanks to the server, I finished my meal happily. 4. Time I visited around 20:00 and there were no seats if I didn't make a reservation (Wednesday). Even if you make a reservation in advance, the food will be served late. It took about 1:30 to finish eating, so if you have time, visit late. Otherwise, go when it opens. 5. Seat If you don’t want to sit at the pub, make a reservation in advance. Overall Review: I would definitely eat there again. Next time, I want to order some nachos and eat them while chatting. Not a single Korean You~~~~ are so delicious!!!

Delicious, fresh food with friendly staff. We split the smoked Jack pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries- more than enough for 2! Came with mayo and ketchup on the side. Would definitely come back.

We stumbled upon this gem after a long day of hiking. Cold and delicious beer and the best food of our trip (in my opinion!). Outside seating was lovely. Being on a quiet street, but close to the train station, was a plus. I can’t recommend it enough.

Ordered the salad of crispy chicken on the first day. They knock it out of the park! Light refreshing, not vinegar-y dressing with tender breaded fried chicken and shaved slivers of cucumbers, carrots. Perfectly suited to my palate. Return for the second day, whisky sour was extra sour, suited me, and it was potent. Delicious. Didn't have to say anything when I ordered. El Mariachi burger for me and Samurai for my DH. Cooked perfect without prompts. Thank you for the good meals.

Probably the best burger I've ever eaten. It had just come off the grill, was super hot, cheese melting.. Mmmm! Taste was super rich and juicy, definitely a mountain vibe (mountain cheese, mushrooms, truffle). Really impressed by the quality! Keep it up!

An absolute treat in Zermatt: no-fuss, laid-back atmosphere, friendly and very helpful & efficient staff, and of course delicious food - we tried their bacon burger, the chicken one, and the pulled pork, in all combinations of sides: fries, sweet potato fries, and salad. It's been a few weeks since, and still impossible to decide which was the favorite - they were all just so good. They also serve chicken wings, some salads and a veggie burger, catering for multiple tastes and needs. Oh, and they serve some nice beers including craft, among all the many drinks available. I'd say, just give it a try!

We were looking for a place to eat a light dinner and found Republic Zermatt tucked around on a back street. It was perfect! The food was delicious, the drinks were great and the staff were suer friendly! We lucked out as we went before the normal dinner time, so we were able to be seated without a reservation.

The food was amazing (burger was one of the best we have ever had, we also loved crispy duck salad and sweet potatoe fries), the drinks too (beer and cocktails), and the service was great as well - the guys were very friendly, you could feel you know them for a while:) even though it was our first time here. Definitely recommend this place and definitely would come back here when visiting Zermatt again:) All the best!

Don't get scared of the entrance. The place inside is very nice and welcoming. Little bit of typical pub style mixed with modern design. (We really liked it). But the BEST part was the food. We had the Michelangelo and El Mariachi burgers and they were AMAZING!!! They have been probably the best burgers we ever had. We recommend this place with all 10 fingers.

I give it 3 stars, because the service was incredibly slow (we waited over an hour for our burgers) and the burger I ordered (pulled pork with gluten free bread) was ok + the bread was a bit stale. My friend’s burgers (the beef and chicken ones), however, were apparently very good.

We had dinner here 2 evenings - pub fair - enjoyed the beer, burgers , wings, salad; bustling yet welcoming waiters/staff.

My god! We both agreed that these were the best burgers we ever had! So fresh, juicy and the flavours were amazing. Typical prices for Zermatt - so worth it in this case. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Would recommend! Thank you

Great burgers and probably the friendliest restaurant we visited in Zermatt. Still not cheap (like everywhere in town!) but at least the food was delicious. Waitress was lovely and the barman went out of his way to experiment with some off-menu non alcoholic cocktails for us.

Absolutely phenomenal Burger joint in Zermatt. Took the ratings at face value until we tried it for ourselves, and we were not disappointed. The opposite, we were overly impressed - even with the other 5 star reviews. We’ve never left a review before, and we knew that we had to after this experience. PS: CHICK’N’ANGELO is the best.

Very friendly employees, sorted me out with a place at the bar even though they were full up and it was quite close to their kitchen closing time. The food came in good time and was pretty much the best burger I had ever had. Well done and thank you to all the staff.

Nice sports bar with good drinks and tasty food

I tried the vegetarian burger (Mr Bean) and the chicken burger (Chick N Angelo) on two consecutive days for dinner. They were very tasty and the portion was big as well. I also enjoyed the sides which came with the burgers - I ordered the sweet potato fries and mixed leaves salad respectively.

Best hamburgers in Zermatt! Great service! Our waitress and waiter, Delfina and Miche were very nice and careful. We also met one of the chefs and the manager, great team! we definitely recomend this place to have a good time, eat, drink beer and relax. They also offer veggie options.

This is the restaurant I went to right after arriving in Zermatt :) It's not a good price at 29 francs for a hamburger. I am very, very satisfied with the taste, atmosphere, and service! The staff are friendly and the song selection is very good. I enjoyed an exciting and enjoyable meal~

Stumbled across this restaurant while walking the main street of Zermatt and so glad we did! Waiter was very knowledgeable about gluten free and the gluten free bread they offer is great! Since it is more of a sub bun and long instead of circular, they cut the burger in half and lined it up so you still get the same amount of food. Nachos and burgers were great!

Best beer selection in Zermatt. Awesome service and also really lovely food. Had the garlic bread, fried chicken sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, and Caesar salad. All were excellent! The best was our server, Delfina. She’s knowledgeable, attentive, and super lovely. Came here by ourselves and then felt comfortable bringing picky parents for dinner - she definitely made the experience 5 stars.

After travelling late into Zermatt we wanted some good easy food and a beer to unwind. Republic Zermatt was the perfect place including a helpful friendly waitress and selection of local Zermatt/Swiss beers. I'd highly recommend the EL MARIACHI burger. The portion size is big and was great with a bottle of the Matterhorn beer.
