Visit glassblowing factory/shop and lunch. So far I've liked it in this restaurant (I've never eaten there before), but today it was a waste of time and money. The boss, R. Zünd, was stressed, irritable, frustrated and not really customer friendly. No other staff appeared to be present. The choice of words also left a lot to be desired when the pendulum fell out of his hand. At first there was a lot of chatter about the stones/bracelets (pendulums questionable). When asked about the menu, R.Z. stated that he didn't have a menu but could tell us what he was offering. These were fitness plates with crispy fish or falafel and other fish as well as various raviolis with salad. This didn't necessarily suit our taste or that of my children, who weren't that hungry either, so we asked if we could even have a salad. This was denied!! It was also left out that there were smaller snacks such as garlic bread. So we ordered crispy biscuits three times and ravioli once. Salad was ok, crispy not crispy, ravioli with tomato mozzarella tasted like olives. The subsequent bill for three fitness plates as well as a mineral, a beer and a large bottle of cola was rather hefty at CHF 140.00. When we paid we saw that there was a menu where the prices and everything on offer would also be visible. There was no receipt, which raises certain suspicions about the billing concept... The price would be one thing if the service and customer friendliness were right. And if, after the smoke break, the service goes back to work with clean dishes outside, I don't know... In any case, hands weren't washed, more likely the free-roaming dog was petted. I'm sorry, but after today I won't be able to recommend this place anymore.

Imaginative place, decorated with a lot of love and handwork over many years by Reto Zünd. The gifted glass blower is the only one who can blow wine glasses from one piece in just 4 minutes. Highly recommended for an unforgettable group experience with hand-blown glass objects, a fine menu with mushrooms, herbs and berries from the area and local wines.

We were there on the weekend. First we browsed through the great studio. It has so many great trinkets and stones for just about every level of well-being. Afterwards we went to the restaurant and first had a delicious homemade iced tea and then a really delicious ravioli. Thank you very much Reto, it was great

Super nice shop. The glassblowing factory is in the middle - at the entrance you are greeted with precious stones (beautiful Goods with that certain something). Reto is very friendly. You can see he loves his work and is passionate about it. In the fall he comes to collect porcini mushrooms in our forests in Emmental, most recently he came mushrooming with his smallest daughter... and she loves her daddy very much... Reto also brought us smoked salmon himself. I have rarely eaten something so delicious.

When we planned our trip to the glassblowing factory on October 21st, 2023, we checked to see if the restaurant was open. However, when we got there, it was closed and there was no message as to why it was closed. (Then you could also understand why you went there for nothing) Actually, it's none of my business, but if you are for If you're calling for donations, you should also ask yourself why you wouldn't work if there were customers there (we weren't the only ones who stood there in vain). With a message you would certainly understand this, but like that!? Incomprehensible!

A very nice place that invites you to linger. Friendly and attentive service. Unfortunately, the ambience was disturbed by a grumpy and rude patron. On the one hand, the answers to the guests are anything but welcoming and snippy. On the other hand, the woman at the service, who is very courteous, is criticized indecently in front of all the guests. Something like that doesn't belong in the ears of guests. Maybe the patron has had a bad day or is still not used to quiet customers from the Bern area.

We really enjoyed our company outing. The workshop was exciting, the food was delicious and the fact that we were able to take home a self-made souvenir afterwards was simply wonderful. Thank you very much. The DAMPF°BAD TEAM Basel

Totally unfriendly & troublesome petz child - avoid!!! We stopped by the shop briefly during our hike when it was 30 degrees and asked a nice service employee if we could fill up our bottles with water because it was so hot, which she said yes. There was no fridge there with take away offers, otherwise we would have bought something else (either way, no one served us or even asked). The child, who had already run into our feet twice with his scooter, then ran after us like he was possessed and complained that we weren't allowed to do that, that it was forbidden here (!?) - went to his father and then to his mother ( Owner) left and complained loudly about what we were doing here... (they also reacted strangely). It was really very unpleasant and inappropriate - I have no idea what else is going on that makes the child have to act like a police officer like that. We actually wanted to stay to buy something - but we've completely lost our desire!

The visit was a real experience: great advice in the stone studio, you feel comfortable and welcome. The food was very tasty and refined, although very down to earth. We will be back. :-)

As always, a wonderful experience

I have never written a review before, but I have to comment on this terrible experience and hope that this will save others. We booked a workshop (although you should call this just watching). First, the glassblower was late. When he finally got there, he shook our hands in a very unfriendly manner. Me even twice, as if to make fun of me and crush my hands with his sticky fingers. Afterwards he happily continued chatting with other people instead of finally starting the workshop. When he was finally ready, he was extremely impatient and unfriendly, we barely got a word in edgewise and could hardly tell him what exactly we wanted without being interrupted and yelled at non-stop. Yes, he screams at you. And not just us, really everyone. His daughter, his dog, the waitress. It was just terrible to have to see/hear something like that. In the shop in front of everyone. As a server, I would have immediately thrown in the towel and left. The whole “workshop” consisted of us blowing into a glass tube for each product. He never explained anything to us, completely ignored us and then yelled at us. We are completely perplexed why such an unfriendly, arrogant, impatient person continues to work with people! We will never, never, ever visit this store again. I feel sorry for all the employees and his family members. If I were her, I would run away.

I was in the restaurant in July and early September 2023 and ate there with friends and shopped in the stone shop. I would like to mention Cornelia very positively, she puts this actually beautiful place in an extremely positive light and knows how to deal with customers in a very friendly, pleasant and supportive manner with all questions. On the other hand, Reto was noticed negatively in every respect on both of my visits. The undignified way he treated Cornelia in front of all the guests, humiliating her very loudly with words, horrified me to the utmost. I was standing in front of Cornelia and was about to place my order when Reto freaked out so inappropriately. The second time a similar situation occurred was at the beginning of September, this time he verbally attacked the young, very nice employee in the kitchen in an unworthy manner and broke dishes. My girlfriend and I will no longer visit the restaurant, which we are very sorry for Cornelia, we love her stone shop, but Reto's incredible and, above all, aggressive behavior is definitely putting us off.

Great location and the best starting point for the wonderful Twannbachschlucht. Very fine and creative food. The plum dressing and the cold-smoked fish (recommended by the boss) were very delicious. We'll be back 😉

Dear Reto (boss / owner of the glass blowing factory and the restaurant) I met you when I visited your restaurant. Your treatment of your employees in the kitchen shocked me to the utmost! How much you yelled at her and belittled her over every little detail! Even if you have a bad day/slept badly/are stressed: NO ONE deserves to be treated like that! After a lot of consideration, I decided to confront you about it and asked you directly that your tone with your employee was not okay! Your reaction shocked me too! Your answer: “I don’t feel like discussing such nonsense right now! That's not an employee, that's my wife! I can scream at them as much as I want!” No Reto, that is absolutely NOT okay! Your wife is also a person with feelings! And NO ONE deserves to be treated like that, not even your wife! What I observed is clearly domestic violence! Psychological violence is also considered domestic violence! I hope that my message will make you realize that you are crossing a line and that you will better reflect on your actions in the future! I definitely demand an apology from your wife and a different tone in the future! As a boss and also as a husband, you are no better than anyone else! A boss/husband can also be expected to treat your counterpart with respect! In any case, I will no longer visit the glassblowing factory in the future! I don't want to support an owner who mistreats his people like that! I cannot morally reconcile that!

The landlord was very unfriendly. We wanted to have an aperitif and sat down at a table that was reserved for 1 p.m. We were sent away at 11.30 a.m. even though we had bought something at the buffet for Fr.85.00. We also found it inappropriate that the innkeeper was working bare-chested at the buffet where food was placed

Staff understaffed and overwhelmed. Price/performance from the surcharge for meat and cheese at the aperitif is questionable at best. Despite registration, *very* long waiting times. Everything was poorly prepared or not prepared at all. Blowing twice into a glass tube is not a workshop for me, I don't know a bit more about glassblowing than I did before. Meanwhile, constant phone calls and complaining and shouting from the boss to the rest of the staff. As a guest, I don't actually want to follow this and have it commented on. Suddenly his dog was there too. I don't like dogs at all, but as a paying guest I wasn't asked if this was okay. It may be that things go better when there are fewer guests there. But we asked early enough and received a confirmation, so I have certain expectations. Then you just have to cancel a group. If it hadn't been a problem, we would have done something else that was fun. The icing on the cake was when the process was restarted with a card when paying so that we had the opportunity to leave a tip. We did without it, and that's saying something... I'd better not comment on the appalling state of the sanitary facilities. If you have so many guests and only two unisex toilets, you should plan a visit from the cleaning lady.

The boss's unfriendliness made it easier for us to decide whether or not to enter. we continued walking without stopping.

Stunning place, you eat well, cook with seasonal products, then you can visit the shop with their production of blown glass, and a splendid collection of stones. I bought crystals and amethyst. Beautiful

The food was a real taste. I usually have a red Rivella on a hike, but this time I opted for a homemade iced tea and absolutely loved it.

Entertaining workshop in the Zünd glass blowing factory. Together with Reto we made individual glasses. Innovative owners with great selection of glasses, stones, crystals, jewelry etc. From there direct access to the Twannenschlucht - great excursion.

We were allowed to stay overnight with Reto in our camper. The next day, in addition to all sorts of great tips for excursions in the area, there was delicious food in the lovingly furnished restaurant. Definitely worth a visit. There is also a wonderful hiking trail in his garden.

DANGER!! Things can get very expensive very quickly here. 😉 A SUPER great shop with competent information. Very very nice and helpful. The culinary offerings are also very tasty and recommended. Freshly made. We had a bit of a stressful day for the two of them. Nevertheless, the two remained calm and mastered everything to their satisfaction. You have enough time here and can linger for a long time. Next time we'll come with more cash. 😉 More than just recommended.

If you want to eat very, very well and consciously, then this is THE location. People still want cash here. So take it with you. Service with a lot of commitment and heart. The original order will definitely be optimized. The ordering process is an experience.

Delicious ice cream variants. We were traveling in the Twannschlucht and stopped at the glass blowing factory. Eir enjoyed a lovely sundae. The ice cream variants are homemade and some of the most delicious I have ever eaten. THANKS

Very skilfully furnished for stone and glass art lovers. However, service for simple coffee or similar leaves a lot to be desired. Reto is always stressed... sometimes packing, sometimes collecting, serving... events are great

After going up from Twann via the gorges. We had the happy surprise of discovering this little corner of paradise. Everything was excellent and a majority homemade! The place has a peaceful atmosphere and we were very well received. Reto spoke to me as if I understood Swiss German. His daughter Jasmin too. It was funny but I didn't understand a word 😂. Cornelia gave very good advice on the stones. THANKS ! We'll come back.

A place flooded with creativity.

It was pure coincidence that we entered the glassblowing factory last Sunday. We found out via Google Maps that there is a restaurant in the glassblowing factory. Because of this, it was absolutely clear to us from the start that it couldn't be a restaurant in the true sense, which is why I can't understand the few negative comments here about the restaurant business. The attentive observer recognizes as soon as they enter that this is a special place. So you should adapt your expectations to the environment. Be that as it may, we were very satisfied with the food on offer. Everything was freshly prepared, the fish was excellent, as was the salad and the bread. The price is absolutely right because there is freshness and a lot of work involved. You'll find out very quickly that it's a self-service restaurant if you can read, and considering that it's actually a shop with a studio, the self-service concept is totally understandable. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. All in all, an exciting short experience. I'll definitely go back soon.

Super cool location ☺️ Reto and Caroline are friendly, open and accommodating, we immediately felt at home and spontaneously did another workshop. While the glass was hardening, we enjoyed a super delicious meal prepared with love. Visiting the Zünds is definitely worth the trip.

Directly at the entrance to the Twannbachschlucht. A cozy restaurant with a small menu. Directly in the restaurant there is a small shop or exhibition with lots of different stones and necklaces, as well as self-blown glass items. The tables outside are a bit older but OK. The ambience outside is super nice, right on the stream and next to the trees... accessible by car from Twann or on foot from Machlingen or Nods.

Very worthwhile visit to an idyllic place. The glass blowing is very impressive and the food is excellent. The quality is right.

We were there for a team event and took part in a glassblowing workshop - it was great and interesting! - Lunch was wonderful and the little souvenirs from the shop were also well received - we'll be happy to come back.

The location is very good, especially if you want refreshment before or after the Twannbachschlucht. The atmosphere outside on the terrace is pleasant. However, the self-service employee behaved very inappropriately, was very loud to an employee and complained about others in front of guests, and made inappropriate jokes and comments to the guests who wanted to order, so that the guests were visibly uncomfortable. All in all, not a positive experience, except for the ambience outside.

A small restaurant in a converted glassworks. With a shaded terrace. Homemade ice creams with elderflower, woodruff, etc. flavors are excellent! To test if you don't know. Home-smoked wild red salmon, also local (and not farmed), is killer, if you're lucky there will be some stock left. What is natural is rare.

What a fantastic shop🤩🤩 like in fairytale land, I've never seen anything like it. I actually came here with the aim of buying two healing stones. But with the overwhelming force of all the stones, I suddenly didn't know anything anymore. And suddenly the stone fairy came along out of nowhere and brought me back to the now 😁 She asked if she could help and I thanked her for it. I was given calm advice without any time pressure and with enthusiasm for the matter - just wow and thank you. I then bought a piece of amethyst and a moonstone for my best friend. I was definitely not here for the last time. Thank you very much for the wonderful experience. Next time I'll try the food. Until then, keep it up, it's just a joy to stroll through this store that's full of positive energy. Thanks Micah

Was here with a tour group. Nice beer garden, food delicious and everything fresh. Cohesive atmosphere. There was an error in the invoice. We didn't notice and paid too much... We were just about to leave when they came out and brought us the overpaid money and apologized. The hut was full and that can happen - but I think it's great that the restaurant reacted immediately and corrected it! We wouldn't even have noticed. Very fair! Gladly again.

We can only recommend homemade ice cream. Very tasty with lots of flavor. The sorbet was also very good. We were well advised and the recommendation was top. We'll definitely go there again.

Impressive exhibition, professional advice and simply a wonderful place of power. Homemade food and drinks, all with attention to detail.

A place to marvel and linger. This is where your heart opens, not just because of the huge exhibition of healing stones/minerals and the pieces of jewelry lovingly made from them. The glass art in this shop is also fascinating, as is every other piece made with love that is worth its price. We received a very open and warm welcome and were given competent advice. For Junior 6, the visit there was also an absolute highlight and it wasn't just because of the homemade panacotta. We are definitely looking forward to the next visit.

Yesterday we had an excellent meal here as a group. Friendly and personal hospitality. Delicious fish crispy with a fine side salad. The various garlic breads are highly recommended as a starter. The whole thing in a special environment with glass works of art. Gladly again.

We coincided one day when they had a buffet with salads and various grilled meats. Good quality, the meat was very tender and juicy. Simple at a gastro level. Good service, nothing special space. Good place to stop and eat something during an excursion. Without pretentions. Good for families.
