Excellent Indian cuisine in an unusual ambience. Personal service, a good Indian white and red wine. We enjoyed it.

Excellent! This is truly Indian , best in the region. No show no fake Indian atmosphere just right , to the point good food and service. Clean place, clean facilities and clean open kitchen.. I mean for the very first time I saw Indian open kitchen where whole restaurant is not smelling masalas. Kudos to the team!

Fine food in a special atmosphere 😊

We discovered this Indian restaurant on Google Maps - we were surprised that it was located in a discarded train carriage. The entrance is via an extension with stairs, which also contains a modern toilet. The food was very good and friendly service. By arranging the tables as a "tube" as is usual in a train restaurant, we were always able to "reach" our waitress immediately. Recommended.

Our first visit to this particular restaurant was great. We just liked everything. The atmosphere is very cozy, even if it was almost full, very pleasant, the English-speaking staff is very friendly and attentive and the food we ordered - fish curry + chickpea curry with rice, naan + roti were delicious and seasoned just right in sharpness. The portions were also just right! We will come back. :)

Good food, exceptional atmosphere

Recently tried out newly opened restaurant Golden India & was pleasantly surprised. Inviting ambience with tasteful decor, creating a comfortable dining atmosphere. Enjoyed the peas paneer curry, well-cooked with authentic taste. Equally impressive was the friendly manager Ronny and chefs, who were welcoming and responsive to requests, commendable hospitality. Neat and clean dining areas and washrooms. Overall an impressive debut, hope they maintain the high standards for years to come 👍

I've been there once for dinner and once for the lunch menu, both times a top experience. The servers are very kind, the ambient is great, food is yummy and the prices are fair. Nothing else to add.

Great Indian food, all homemade. Unfortunately, it's far too spicy (I usually only know Curry Madras very hot). The Garlic Naan is fantastic, the Raita very fresh. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio is by no means good, not even by Swiss standards. It's simply too expensive for THE quality. 2 starters, 2 main courses, 1x Garlic Naan = over 90 pieces... But we will definitely order here again, as there is no alternative in the area and the quality of the food is really good.

Friendly service (knowledge of English is an advantage) The birthday child was even surprised with dessert and matching music.

I drove past the restaurant a few times, it's very noticeable with the train carriage. Knowledge of English is highly recommended for communication, the service is impeccable and courteous. The food is fantastic and the price is absolutely reasonable for an Indian restaurant in Switzerland. The balanced menu also offers an enormous number of vegetarian dishes. An absolute recommendation!

An unplanned visit to this little gem of a restaurant was the perfect climax to our swiss trip. One of the best Indian restaurants we have visited in Europe. The price might be slightly on the higher side but the quality of the food and the service justifies it. The food was sumptuous and the service was impeccable. Special mention to Mr.Dinesh for his wonderful hospitality. A definite must visit if you are in the locality.

The staff are friendly and very helpful, the food is well presented, excellent and in good quantities, and the setting is original and pleasant. An absolute visual and culinary highlight!!!! Best Indian food with a friendly welcome, prompt service and lots of charm and ambience. The food was simply incredibly tasty and the portions were generous. The spices used are incredibly tempting to the taste buds, and the spiciness of the dish can be chosen individually. We are even explained what the dishes are made of and all in a very charming mixture of German, English and Italian!!! All senses are definitely addressed here and I can really recommend this place!!!! What is an additional plus for me is that thanks to the attached wheelchair lift, guests with walking disabilities can also eat in the train carriage and not only dine on the very beautiful attached terrace.

What an amazing place! The Golden India Restaurant is hidden quite inconspicuously in an old railway carriage on the side of the road. When you enter you are warmly greeted, everything is bright, friendly and very clean. Simply inviting. The service was extremely attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and fresh; We also tried the Indian wine, which tasted excellent :-) All in all, an all-round successful evening - and: The train car is even wheelchair accessible and equipped with a lift and wheelchair toilet. Excellent!

Golden India is our favorite go-to Indian food place at Sursee. It has become like a home for us due to its delicious food, warm hospitality and beautiful decor ! All the dishes are amazing but my favorite is garlic butter Naan with palak paneer :)

We have ordered food several times. Everything is fresh, very seasoned and you can taste that everything is homemade. The homemade paneer and butter chicken are particularly delicious. We were very positively surprised by the restaurant!! It is a very beautifully decorated railway carriage with loving details such as small pictures on the walls or Indian music in the background. You can also see the kitchen team working at the front, which was very interesting. The Garlic Naan (bread) was very crispy and tasty, as was the Veg Samosa starter. The highlight was the Lamb Bhuna. The sauce was a flavor explosion with lots of spices and the lamb was very delicate and the portion was even perfect for 2 people. The staff was very, very friendly and made you feel very comfortable while eating.

In my opinion, the "Golden India" in Sursee deserves a 5 star rating due to its excellent Indian cuisine, which offers a wide range of tastes and aromas. The butter chicken you rave about seems to be a highlight of the menu and I'm sure other dishes are of similarly high quality. In addition to the excellent food, the restaurant offers a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere and the service is very friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable and value for money is excellent. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice. It's an old train wagon. The furniture has been selected in a matching retro style. However, the seats are rather close together. I felt like I could use some more space. The food was good. We shared a mixed starter plate intended for two as a group of four. The appetisers were presented on a basic salad. I liked the taste, but wasn't wowed. The main course came nicely presented in an pot. The food tasted fresh and with a lot of spices. It wasn't spicy, though. I remember that chicken was exceptionally tender. We did not order dessert. My stand out for the evening was the mango lassi.

Today we were at Golden India in Sursee for the first time. A great restaurant in the old train carriage. Nicely furnished, clean toilets. The waiter was very, very friendly and accommodating! He advised us on the menu selection to our complete satisfaction. The food is awesome! Very nicely prepared and very tasty. We decided on a starter and a thali. This even included dessert! Just great! Thank you for everything! We will be back!

Found this special restaurant online and really enjoyed the food. Everything was well seasoned except the naan was a little light. The service was very attentive, unfortunately the gentleman has only been in Switzerland for a few months and therefore speaks almost no German. But you can communicate well with English and Italian

We happened to be there on January 13, 2023. Despite the closed society, we got a place and were well looked after and cared for by everyone. The food was absolutely great and more than sufficient. Really friendly staff and I can only recommend it. TOP

Waited a long time for the food, the food was cold,

Ate in the restaurant. Waited 2 hours for our food. Portion much too small (1 small bowl of sauce and rice) for the high price. When we asked for a second helping, they said they had nothing left. Were the first customers in the restaurant. Unprofessional staff. Doesn't speak a word of German and was never seen. When asked when the food would come, Keller said "don't worry, its coming" every 20 minutes. When we wanted to leave, the waiter didn't understand us and didn't want to bring us the bill.

Waited 2 hours for our food. The waiter never showed up. When asked, all I got was “its coming” and 30 minutes later there was still no food. Way too expensive for poor performance.

Inconspicuous restaurant with great food. Best pakora in a long time. Unfortunately, here in Switzerland I only know that the pakora are warmed up again in the microwave and are therefore dachy.
