SPITZ in Zürich

I really enjoy being at the Spitz and do so regularly. Great location, good, uncomplicated food and a nice ambience.

Was in the bar, can sincerely recommend it

Excellent quality of food and coffee and superb service from Mr. Baks at the coffee shop, providing both quality of service and friendly communication. Highly recommended as a small "city-escape" with friendly environment and the opportunity to visit the Museum or the Library!

Business lunch: entrecote was bloody and rubbery. Never again!

The atmosphere is very pleasant and the service is pleasant. Unfortunately, the food didn't convince us at all today; the guinea fowl was dry and the cauliflower dish was not edible. The wines, however, were very fine.

Thank you for the great service (waiting list included) and the great food! The dessert was the best I've ever had (Amarena/Schoggi composition) again and again!!

A good meeting place! Bar, bistro and restaurant in one (but with different opening times) are centrally located near the main station. Zurich prices!!!

I was at an event at the Spitz bar this week. The place is very nice, the service was very good and the cappuccino one of the best in Zürich.

Well, it's ok. Relatively small selection of main courses. Medullary bone perfect. Guinea fowl rather dry. Soup very good, meat rather tough. Cream Catalana perfect, brownie a bit dusty. Still fun. Good location. The garden in summer is more chill than the atmosphere inside. 😊

On Saturday at 11:15 p.m. there is nothing left to drink. The bartender has already cleaned everything. Despite the large sign outside with the promising text "bar open" and opening hours until midnight. Hello! We are here in Switzerland and published opening times can be viewed as binding.

What a discovery - growing up in Zurich but this nice restaurant wasn't on my radar. Mega nice and friendly staff - very accommodating. Small, balanced menu - food was very good.

Service was catastrophic, I ran away in the bistro. No respect for the clients. It's a shame, otherwise it would take a while for a very nice restaurant.

The dinner was great. As always. And the entire service staff was also very friendly and helpful! I can only recommend!

We had lunch here and made reservations beforehand, which I highly recommend, as the restaurant is a popular lunch spot for many employees due to its central location, so it tends to be booked up at lunchtime. I appreciated the location by the National Museum, which gave it a more relaxed atmosphere. The service was very friendly and the food was very good.

We went there for a dinner with a group of 6 people. The place is behind the train station, very spacious however we did t have a good dinner experience. The quality of food vs price was bit aligned at all. The meat was chewy, the greens served with meat was without any taste. The desserts were ok. We had super high expectations however we were quite disappointed.

Good, more classic food. Wine selection ok, more emphasis should be placed on it for my taste, especially when it comes to natural wine.

Spitz is always a reliable go to for a quick work lunch or business dinner, but Karolis really upped the service and warmth taking care of me and some visiting family this evening. Service from Karolis was thoughtful, flexible, and warm. Cocktails were inventive and delicious. Food was seasonal, fresh, beautifully plated, and flavors were well balanced. Recommended wines were excellent and paired well with the food. Overall a lovely evening and meal. Looking forward to our next visit.

Despite the small lunch menu, we had to wait around 40 minutes for our food and then for the bill. The dishes are delicious, a visit is worth it - but not for a lunch break that "only" lasts an hour... that's a bit short...

Great place for a casual business lunch!

For a quick lunch, sitting at the bar, a daily menu: Salad, roast with cream This is the place to go but you definitely need to book!

One of my favorite bars in zurich. When i have the evening off, i like to spend it here. Team is professional and really passionate about what they are doing. Menu is funny and refreshing. Cocktails are tasty. A beautiful location with an amazing collection of whisky and other spirits. Salé.

Very friendly service, great food, atmospheric location with enough space and therefore not loud. I would love to come back and recommend the Spitz!

Although reserved 1 week in advance, only the cat table was received. 1 trout fillet with some broccoli Fr. 30.00 (I had canceled the other side dish, so you could have added something for the price) The dish my companion served was okay, hence 2 stars. Thank you for me last time.

Self-service: Very stressed, unpleasant staff at the checkout (October 30, 2022/afternoon). I have never experienced anything like it. They even argued with each other in front of all the customers. Embarrassing😬

The service was very attentive and friendly. When paying, the card terminal crashed twice - very unpleasant for both sides. The device appears to be an older model that urgently needs to be replaced.

This time I was disappointed. The music in the bar is too loud. The salad was huge, bland, almost without sauce but still light. After a long wait, the veal chop was not dry but rather half raw. On the hefty bill, which my complaint when clearing away had no influence on, we still find two bar drinks that we hadn't consumed. The second star goes to the friendly staff and the restaurant, but as we all know, you didn't eat any of it.

Friendly service, good food. Nice location very close to HB Zurich (main train station), only 2 minutes away in walking distance.

Disappointed that I turned up for a resturant meal experience and placed with the drinking section instead. You can see on the pictures when it came to my tea at the end of my meal there was still seating rooms available although I was told there was booked out.

Friendly service, fresh tasting, well seasoned meal, I enjoyed the farfalle with chanterelles in cream sauce, which was delicious. Located steps from the central Zürich train station and the national museum. Highly recommended.

Great local near HB. Before 5 p.m. is self-service, which I find a little inconvenient, but otherwise great. Large selection of drinks. Give 4 stars because service is not that attentive (long waits, orders forgotten, etc.) and staff could be friendlier.

Service at the highest level! Wow and that in the middle of Zurich in a completely booked restaurant on the terrace! Just thrilled! I haven't experienced such perfect service in a long time, not even in top restaurants. Friendly, calm, warm but not intrusive, very professional handling of feedback! Wow, a big compliment to the service crew from last night! And of course the kitchen: SCHMACKOFATZ and not run-of-the-mill, but special and extremely fine!

beautiful spot just attached to the landesmuseum. restaurant is in the old building structure of the landesmuseum. spaceous saloon with super high roof. kitchen is mainly swiss/international. delicious dishes. nice wine selection although wine is pricey. located as central as it can get right north to main train station (HB).

overprized, slightly pretentious food, but if you want to impress yo mama, that's probably ok. nice service though (they even looked up for me where their fish came from - it was local). and nothing beats sitting in front of a fake medieval castle (the zuercher landesmuseum) and watch the float from the hauptbahnhof pass by.

The dishes are all very specially prepared. There are no classics. Overpriced wine list. The service was very accommodating.

Nice opportunity for a coffee/meeting near the train station or to relax after visiting the museum. Delicious, freshly prepared bites, good cakes. Prices a bit high, but ok for the location.

I haven't eaten so well in a long time! Not exactly cheap but the taste was more than great: from the main course, the homemade sodas and the dessert. Definitely coming back soon.

However, the food on offer was rather limited. Maybe it was the warm weather and we chose the wrong one. No idea, but we'll be back. 1 x is not even, or something like that... PS: The service was good.

I had the quiche Lorraine and it was big, nice and filling! Coffee is good too and it's a nice and quiet place to spend a nice time with friends.

Great restaurant right next to Zurich train station. The entrance is to the right of the entrance to the State Museum. The menu is accessed via QR code. The selection is small, but there is something for all tastes. The food came quickly and tasted very good. The service was attentive and friendly.

Das Gute zuerst, der Service war ausgezeichnet. Ich habe mich aber gefragt was man sich bei der Speisekarte überlegt hat. Da gab es als Empfehlung eine Wildkarte. Die Auswahl war, entweder nehmen beide Gäste eine Tavolata ( es gibt was gerade zur Verfügung steht) für 58! Franken proPerson oder falls mein Gegenüber keine Lust auf Wild hat, für mich alleine.... NICHTS. Für eine Person gibt es gerade mal die Beilagen ohne Wild für stattliche 36 Franken. Der Rest der Hauptgänge ist auch sehr Bescheiden bei der Auswahl. 2x Gemüse verschieden zubereitet, 1x gezupftes Schweinefleisch mit Brot für stolze 40 Franken plus 1 Fisch und ein Kalbsgericht. Das Motto „Klein aber Fein“ kann man auch übertreiben. Das Essen (Gemüseteller) war dann ganz in Ordnung. Ich war das erste Mal im Restaurant Spitz und wohl das letzte Mal. Nicht weil es schlecht war, sondern weil es nichts Besonderes ist und das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis unterdurchschnittlich ist. Es gibt so viele Restaurants in Zürich die sich in diesen schweren Zeiten richtig Mühe geben. Meiner Meinung nach gehört das Spitz nicht dazu.
