Very nice restaurant serving simple and classic dishes with Swiss and French inspiration. The raw materials used are excellent, fresh and seasonal; the dishes are well prepared but the portions perhaps a little small. Service is good but could be faster

Very fine food and friendly, attentive service.

Like many other places, Rubina was fully booked. At this place, however, the hostess spoke to us with direct and honest warmth and explained that as spontaneous guests we would have to wait a bit. We agreed and she improvised a final table for us. While we waited, we were repeatedly approached by the Rubina team and informed about how far the service was. During this time we enjoyed a wonderful aperitif and were somehow happy about the “gift” of time. The food was then worth every bite we waited for. Conclusion: an unexpectedly wonderful evening that showed that hospitality can always have a place - thank you very much, dear Rubina team, for the wonderful evening! We were impressed by the way you took on the challenges that evening - just great!

Enjoyable moments in a lively setting.

We have been to Rubina several times for business lunches. The food is mediocre and nothing special. The owner is absolutely rude, impatient and unfriendly. The restaurant and the location would be great, but absolutely not worth the money!

We spontaneously went to Rubina on Tuesday evening and were very lucky to get a place. The acoustics were a bit loud that evening, but the food and service were great! We felt really comfortable and went home happy. The meal itself was accompanied by delicious wine and fine Appenzell Mineral. We look forward to being guests again soon, a mixture of feel-good menus and fine dishes.

I like this place but wish the service would be a bit more relaxed. It feels a bit stiff and controlled. The food and drinks are great! They are also very dog friendly.

THE INGREDIENTS FOR THE WELL-TASTED DISHES ARE HIGH QUALITY, FRESH AND REGIONAL. THE SERVICE IS ATTENTIONAL AND KIND. PRICE/PERFORMANCE IS IMPORTANT FOR A RESTAURANT SUCH AS THIS IN THE CITY. The Rubins has a very cozy guest room. The service is very friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the food. We had the marrowbone, the pork chop and the meatloaf. Everything was very tasty and individualized by Rubina.

(Everything was well explained, individual and very competent advice and very friendly ❤️). Great kitchen!! (All courses perfectly seasoned and beautifully but not overly presented, just really really really good!! Ambience incredibly pleasant. You feel welcome, at home and it tempts you to “stay there”! Excellent food, served in the cool garden in summer (in the shade until the evening).

This was my second dinner here in about a month. On both occasions I visited with a friend on a Monday evening, ate outside, had the four course menu and really enjoyed the evening. The food was deliciously different, the wine really excellent and the service impeccable. For the quality on offer, I thought both final bills were very reasonable. I had a particular reason to celebrate on the most recent visit and ordered rather a special bottle of wine. The price was very reasonable indeed for this top quality wine and I was very impressed with the utmost respect that was shown to it - and also the fact that the chef de service didn't laugh when I asked to take the empty bottle home! The only thing I would say about the garden is that it is right next to a tram line and near to a hospital so diners do have to accept a certain amount of noise at times.

Rubina has become our favorite restaurant in Zürich. The dishes are thoughtful, interesting and delicious. The ingredients are top-notch. They always have great wine options. I highly recommend dining here.

I discovered a green corner in the city. A truly romantic and pleasant environment. The dishes prepared with care and taste. I really enjoyed this old-fashioned restaurant in the center of Zurich.

Fabulous food and excellent house curated collection of wines in a relaxed and inviting environment. Always a great meal, one of our favorite places in Zürich. Great garden seating in the summer too!

The Rubina restaurant in the Uni-Quartier is truly a very bright star in the Zurich gastronomic sky. In the idyllic garden under the large plane tree we enjoyed the hospitality and the fine food. You can tell the landlady's joy in what she does in every second. The meal was a culinary delight, starting with the refreshing cold pea soup, cleverly refined with buttermilk and almond pieces, as well as the waffles with salmon roe and sour cream, both of which were a poem. For the main course we enjoyed the house specialty, the breaded pork cutlet as a homage to the landlady's father (wow, that was delicious) and the butter-tender veal steak (a dream). Although our stomachs were already quite full after the large portions, the dessert menu tempted us to a sweet finish, which was also more than worth it. The strawberry mousse and the “iced coffee” Rubina style were a fitting end to a wonderful evening. Many thanks to the entire team at the Rubina restaurant.

I'll just say this: 4 pieces of asparagus 39Fr. Service too pushy. Not for us.

My husband and I went to Rubina for the first time yesterday, spontaneously and without a reservation, on an early Saturday evening. The hostess welcomed us very warmly, with genuine interest in motivating us to visit her restaurant. We are familiar with their other restaurant in Dübendorf and so we were happy that we were able to visit Rubina in Zurich yesterday and get a free table. When we left the place was packed. And we weren't disappointed: everything about the evening was perfect! Fantastic choices in the menu, a beautiful ambience, warm and friendly service, great quality and flavors of the food compositions, great wines, very good value for money. Thank you for the wonderful evening, we will be back, no question!

Nice place, but terrible service and slow kitchen (it took 90min to get our main course). The dessert ordered was not available once it was time for dessert (although it was when we ordered the menu…). With so many good choices around (Zawan, Alte Löwe, Linde), we will not be back!

A Zurich restaurant run with a lot of love and passion. The landlady has been concerned about the well-being of her guests for years. The menu features seasonal specialties, such as Flaach asparagus in spring or game in autumn. The breaded pork chop from Muotathal or Rubina's Glückssalat have been part of the house's regular repertoire for many years (see pictures).

We were in very good hands here. We (two couples) were totally impressed by the food, from the starter (Markbein) to the degistiv (Truttiger Marc), a delicacy. Good service that also had time for a funny saying. I also really liked the furnishings of the venue, from the stalls to the lighting. We are ready for further visits.

I was worried about the sparse attendance at Rubina... because the food is too fine that you shouldn't treat yourself to it from time to time. It was my first time here (after rescheduling 3 times... but the landlady still remembered my name!), but definitely not the last time. Lovingly prepared dishes and very fine taste, coupled with friendly service. It was a pleasure.

A restaurant that I would not have expected to be in the middle of the university district. Swiss home cooking meets fine French cuisine. Great taste experiences. The dishes have a history. Everything beautifully prepared and served with love. I can only recommend a visit. Price and performance very consistent for the conditions in Zurich. Small but well-chosen menu that offers something for every taste. The restaurant is a large room and also suitable for groups. Reservation required.

I love Rubine Restaurant. Last week we had a family event there. All dishes were very tasty and peculiar in the sense of haute cuisine. The guests were very satisfied. Very well sorted menu, clear, attractive. Lots of game and chestnuts depending on the season. Lucky salad as a starter with hot goat cheese is delicious. You have to try the meatloaf muffin on a vegetable bed. Is a true discovery. A Malbec from Ennetbaden goes very well. An eggnog at the end as a nightcap. I'd love to come back.

The food was very good here. The furnishings are a bit sparse and the atmosphere is therefore rather sober. The waitress forgot the appetizer we ordered. Deal with something special.

Excellent food, but some street noise

Absolutely delightful experience. We were here for lunch. Service was quick, extremely friendly and attentive. Prices are around 25-30 for a lunch menu including a soup/salad and a coffee. Good was super tasty, fresh and just well made. Definitely turned me into a loyal customer for the future.
