Restaurant Tandoor in Winterthur

This Indian restaurant has my taste buds so enchanted that they want to do some Bollywood dances! The dishes are spicier than an Indian spice market, and the service is friendlier than your favorite Bollywood star. 10/10 would eat again – maybe even twice a day if my tummy allows it!

Unfortunately the waiter only spoke English and was a bit slow, but the food was great

If you can't do delivery service, just leave it... We ordered from Tandoor almost every week but out of 10 times they forgot something that couldn't be right??? 1x no fajita bread... Forgot 1x naan... 1x forgotten cottage cheese, which makes up the dish, etc Please leave it... Unfortunately you have 1 less regular customer!

We had a delicious quick dinner at Restaurant Tandoor! The surrounding feels authentic, the waiters are really friendly and they were generous with drinks. My boyfriend says thank you for the free shot (by choice) after dinner.

Very disappointed! We walked into the restaurant at 10 p.m. and there was an Asian lady at the counter who cheekily said the kitchen was closed!! We were discussing with a gentleman why they are open until midnight even though the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. The lady couldn't speak German properly and just wanted us out and kept saying during the conversation: No, no, kitchen closed. That's not what I understand by friendly and good service...

Amazing food. Had the Goscht Roganjosh and it was so delicious. And very good price to portion ratio. Service was also on time and well done.

There's a lot of noise every evening after 9 p.m., especially on Sundays when you want to have some peace and quiet and sleep. There is cleaning with the door open, knocking, hammering and sometimes a Flex is used. This won't stop until it closes. What a plague! Please stop this.

Good Indian restaurant with fair prices. Also has really good Thai and Mexican food. Unfortunately the quality is not consistent and most of the curries are monotonous because they are honey-sweet - it doesn't have much to do with Indian

We had heard a lot of good things about the tandoor, but unfortunately we were very disappointed. The service was unfriendly from the start and we didn't feel welcome. We were allowed to sit next to the freshly set tables in the dirty place in the corner, even though no one else came. The naan was dry and the nachos were completely soggy. The salad and water were good.

I had terrible food poisoning. Was sick for 2 days !! I highly don’t recommend this restaurant !!

Disappointment! I'm actually a big fan of Indian cuisine but unfortunately I was disappointed yesterday. We ordered take away online and I noticed that the vegetarian/vegan menu was very monotonous and spartan. In addition, it is not exactly authentic if an Indian restaurant offers Mexican dishes or vice versa. Indian cuisine in particular is very well known for flavor explosions through spices and a large selection of vegetarian dishes, sometimes without the ubiquitous Indian cheese. I then decided, among other things, on a Navrattan Kurma (9 vegetables and dried fruits cooked with a mild saffron sauce). A tasteless vegetable “curry” with frozen vegetables was delivered incorrectly. The yogurt dip that came with the starter was obviously scooped up with the same ladle as the tomato sauce, which was very unappetizing. This can also, for example, be fatal for allergy sufferers. The naan bread and shrimps were good. A pity...

Lecjeres esse, take away, quick preparation, good price. The only thing that is a little annoying is that if you take take away there is either only a spoon or nothing at all. When I asked if there was a fork in it / or if you could have one, the answer was that there was one in it, but several times it wasn't included.

Have been a customer since 2016, always liked the food here and found no problems at all. Until around these two years, there was one time I ordered lamb biryani as takeaway and instead of lamb, they gave me beef but charged me for lamb. I thought they just made a mistake so it did not stay on my mind. But recently i had a meal there and I ordered the same, I found only little lamb on my plate but most of the meat were again, BEEF. I think if you like lamb so much as I do, you will know the difference the instance you have a bite. I am sad to see the place has turned into a scam...

I waited again and again, it could be better but the quality and service of the staff was not good at all.

Bad experience with online ordering. Delivery was said to take 30 to 35 minutes. When we still received nothing after almost 1.5 hours, I called. I was told that my order wasn't ready yet and the courier wouldn't come to pick it up for another 25 minutes. I can understand if there's more going on but there's such a delay? When I tried to complain, I was hung up on in the middle of a sentence. Thank you - never again

The place is nice and cozy, loved the decoration. What is so special about it is that the food is always nice and warm. Very well served portions, loved particularly the garlic-cheese naan. Will comeback for sure and I've already recommended to my friends. Covid safe as well.

I was incredibly and completely disappointed with my experience with Tandoor. After an extensive New Year's feast, I was looking forward to nothing more than some delicious paneer in my stomach with naan and garlic. But after two bites I felt a bitter taste in my mouth and immediately had to vomit.

The food is amazing and definitely worth the price. However, we had some very long waiting times as there was a lot of business.

The food is good. But as a restaurant visitor you are a second class guest. There are always around 4 Eat.ch couriers around - it's a drag because the door is always open and the annoying phone keeps ringing. Table reservations were accepted, but when we arrived on time there was no table ready. We were placed and forgotten. We had to push ourselves so that we could order something - but parts of the orders were then forgotten. Sure, delivery service is lucrative during Covid times - chances of survival after COVID with this type of service are questionable...

We had wonderful service including great food at the buffet in private.

I visited there on 10/11/2021 and had Buffet. The food and staffs were very good but unfortunately, since last night me and my wife were having Diarrhoea and stomach pain. We had food poisoning symptoms. This is not happening because of spicy food, we usually eat more spicy food. I have doubt on chicken curry which we have eaten. I didn’t want to write here but I hope this will help you to serve better!!

Das Mittagsmenü ist sehr schmackhaft, eine sehr authentische Indische Küche und hat sehr gemundet. Leider werden viel Erdnüsse in den Gerichten gebraucht, was bei dessen Allergie überhaupt nid geht.

Das Tandoor in Winterthur kann ich jedermann empfehlen, der gerne indisches Essen geniesst. Die Qualität ist konstant gut, das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis überzeugt. Und wer gerne gut UND genug isst, kommt beim Tandoor doppelt auf seine Kosten.

Schon seit Jahren (über 10 Jahre) besuche ich das Tandoor, früher mit Freunden, heute mit der Familie. Manchmal liegen lange Pausen dazwischen, umso mehr bin ich dann wieder dankbar, dass es immer gleich ist, Gleich gut! Finde es einfach fein und vor allem die Mittagsmenus sind mit der Preisleistung Top! Dhanyavaad!

Das Restaurant haben wir alle in der Familie in unsere Herzen geschlossen! Wir waren nun des öfteren dort und sind immer mehr als zufrieden gewesen. Zum Geburtstag, zu Weihnachten, immer wieder ein Geschmackserlebnis! Das Essen ist extrem schmackhaft und die Atmosphäre sehr angenehm. Man wird jedes mal sehr nett begrüsst und auch sehr sympathisch verabschiedet. Hoffentlich bleibt uns das Tandoor noch lange erhalten.

Feine indische Küche, solide zubereitet. Ausgesprochen freundlicher Service. Indisches Buffet am Abend (leider nicht Do, Fr und an den Wochenenden) ist sehr zu empfehlen. Da findet jeder etwas. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne.

Essen seit Jahren hier und wurden noch nie enttäuscht. Heute zum ersten Mal Catering ausprobiert. Essen natürlich wieder top. Zudem grosse Portionen und sehr pünktlich.
