Restaurant und Hotel "Postigliun" in Wetzikon (ZH)

For us, the self-check was a completely new experience. However, everything worked out perfectly. The room was beautiful and extremely clean. Questions were answered immediately by phone and email. Everything really went great! Thank you very much, we had a wonderful short vacation.

We were simply thrilled with our short vacation. The village of Sedrun is simply picturesquely beautiful. A dream for every skier and hiker. Everything is within easy walking distance. Checking in was super easy and convenient since we arrived very late. The hotel is dog-friendly and also “back-friendly” for our dachshund thanks to the elevator. The room is very large, clean and comfortable. To our delight, we were able to enjoy a coffee straight in the morning using the existing coffee capsule machine. A supermarket is right next door. Super practical! 3 minutes down the road we can recommend la miula. Super delicious breakfast and next door at La Cruna you can have a delicious dinner. We'd love to come back. 🇨🇭🏔️❄️

The accommodation corresponded exactly to the description and gave us wonderful days. Contact on site with self-check-in was uncomplicated and easy. There is a permanent parking lot on site and there is a supermarket right next door. The train station is 5-10 minutes walk away. There are great restaurants and brunch locations in the immediate vicinity. The lifts are also within walking distance. What's also great is that pets are allowed. So we were able to take our dog with us. The contact on site is very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be happy to come back.

Restaurant: Locally inviting, but the cheap paper napkins don't match the white-covered tables - service was nice, but the boss was a bit full-bodied - everything was very expensive - carpaggio was tough and probably not a fillet - pizza was only lukewarm - wine list with insufficient information and the cheapest wine (49 CHF) very simple - be careful with recommended meat and wine off the menu: be sure to ask for the price before ordering!

Unfortunately a bad dining experience. The restaurant reopened in October 2022 under new management called Vecchio Forno. It started with the fact that despite reservations for 5 people, no suitable table was reserved and the five of us squeezed into a very small table for 4. The boss particularly stood out because of his big words and praised fish, meat and truffles. The wine list was short and imprecise. Champagne wasn't available by the glass, so we ordered a bottle. There were also ugly glasses that were filled to the brim. The red wine we ordered was no longer available, but the alternative offered “Guidalberto 2019” was at least ok. We only found out the prices of the two bottles at the end with the bill. The beef carpaccio was tasteless, stringy, loveless - the meat was even partially frozen! The focaccia on the bread plate was underbaked. The green salad was at least convincing. The sea bream for two people for the main course was very large and of good quality, unfortunately the potatoes served with it were a bit dark and bitter. The Bistecca Fiorentina, also for 2 people, was far too big (around 1.5 kg)🤯. The boss's behavior was strange. The way he cut and salted the meat reminded us of a famous/infamous restaurateur. The fries were way too soft. Overall, the meal was anything but enjoyable. The bitter surprise only came with the bill. The prices for fish and meat were exorbitant and disproportionate to the quality, service and method of preparation as well as local restaurants. Even the offered Vin Santo and Parmesan with honey couldn't please us at the end. At least there was still a small discount on the Fiorentina. Conclusion: the food, the service and the overall experience are unsatisfactory. The prices are way too high. But we were certainly not the only dissatisfied guests that evening.

We ate here twice during our stay in Sedrun- we showed up during closed hours.We were tired and hungry- they took us in anyhow. They treated us like family. Made special pasta for the kids, pizza was world class, drinks were amazing. Service was top notch. This is a must stop while in Sedrun

12/11/2022 The food was very good, but we didn't eat it all because there was so much. We ordered: appetizers - there were a lot of them, 5 plates, veal cutlet, lasagne, seafood plate, and others. Everything very good and plenty. Very nice service.

During the period of restrictions due to Covid, we were the only guests here. We felt like VIPs. The managers were very helpful and very kind. We had a good time.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Natürlich und herzlich. Das Essen....Hirschpfeffer...war sensationell lecker. Die Zutaten waren frisch und alles war fein angerichtet. Dazu gab es eine Extraportion Spätzli weil der Küchenchef der Ansicht war dass auf unseren Tellern ein zu kleine Portion sei. Dies war ein mehr als unerwartete Zugabe. Vielen Dank nochmals an dieser Stelle.

Nette Gaststube und sehr freundliche Bedienung. Pizza und das indische ButterChicken ist ebenfalls sehr gut und zu empfehlen. Frühlingsrollen hatte ich schon bessere gehabt. Aber alles in allem empfehlenswert.

Wir waren mit unserem 1 jährigen Sohn hier. Die netten Wirtsleute haben sich herzerwärmend um uns und unseren kleinen gekümmert! Und auch das Essen war sehr fein und mit viel Liebe zubereitet! Für uns erhält dieses Restaurant einen Stammplatz bei der Durchreise durch Sedrun...

Eine kleine exzellente Karte und eine grosse Auswahl an Pizzen. Sehr überzeugende Küche und feiner Service. Die Gratwanderung zwischen familiärem Ambiente und professionellem Service wird hier wunderbar gemeistert. Und das alles zu fairen Preisen.

Sehr freundliche Gastgeber, sehr geräumige und schöne Zimmer, doch im schönen Alpenstil. Ein extrem Familien und Kinderfreundliches Hotel, die Familie Gerber tut alles, damit es den Gästen, gross und klein, gut geht. Das Hotel ist sehr gut gepflegt und selbstverständlich sehr sauber. Meine 9-Monatige Tochter und ich hatten eine hervorragende Zeit hier. Das nächste mal in Sedrun werden wir sicher wieder hier im Hotel Postigliun bleiben. ------ Very friendly and nice hosts, the hotel has very nice and big rooms, still keeping the nice alpine style. The hosts and hotel are very family and kid friendly, the Gerber Family does everything to ensure that all guests, big and small, are happy. The hotel is very well kept and very clean. My 9-month daughter and I had a very nice stay here. The next time in Sedrun the hotel choice will be obvious: Hotel Postigliun!
