A place to spend a day with the family and entertain the children

The staff are very friendly and fast, believe me i know 😂 for as we got there we were starving.

Only drank a Camparino. The hot appetizers are also good.

After a long hike we had a super crunchy and tasty napolitean pizza. They served us great wine and a nice coffee with desert to finish the night. Service and atmosphere were perfect! Would come again :)

We started with an aperitif, Spritz 10.- without appetizers, too much compared to others in the area at a cost of 8.- with dried meat and ham. Only the menu card arrives at the table, I have to request the wine list. As an appetizer we choose the pizza, truly excellent. Then I choose the tartare as the main course at 45.- My wife the roast beef. To my amazement, an unseasoned tartare arrives (without eggs, pickles, worcester, tabasco, ...) and without a side dish. I point this out to the waitress who replies that they serve it this way in Italy, she must have missed that S. Bernardino is in Switzerland. My wife gets the roast beef which is a roast, definitely overcooked. The waitress apologizes saying that they had also noticed the excessive cooking in the kitchen but they let him out anyway. We passed the dessert. There was panna cotta but I was afraid to receive it with goat's milk, maybe in Italy they make it like that...

Pizza tonight, a joy for the palate, but the rest has never been less! Well done

We often went to this place especially from Ticino but the last time they increased the prices by 25% and the service was much lower than the previous ones. It seems the management has changed, we haven't found the same staff.

From the outside the restaurant looks old, but when you look through the window you can see that the inside is nicer. When you then look at the menu you will be surprised by the creativity, just as you will then be absolutely delighted by the quality of the food. We received very friendly and attentive service and would be happy to come back.

All good as usual, a guarantee! However…. Saint Joseph should be celebrated with zeppole which unfortunately are missing from the menu this year

Excellent restaurant found by chance, friendliness, professionalism and kindness. Delicious dishes prepared with a lot of love and respect for the ingredients, the pizza was also excellent. A big thank you to the fantastic chef Rodolfo Innocenti who satisfied all my daughter's requests with a huge smile , I love you!!

CATASTROPHIC! Nightmare New Year's Eve dinner: start of service more than half an hour late managed by a dishwasher and not by a waiter, totally clueless, incompetent and not at all professional. Decent food (for example, salad brought on a metal tray and left there waiting for everyone's dishes to arrive). All the different drinks from the initial bubbles, to the wine, to the final ones served in the same glass!! Bread arrived only after dinner. Forgotten coffee. Festive minimalist room and table decorations with paper sets on partly sticky tables. Probably their first dinner? Professional hotel schools teach how to manage customers and unfortunately there are many people who improvise and these seem to be part of them. Making fun of people doesn't pay. Mine is not an outburst but an objective evaluation and encouragement to improve.

We had a fantastic lunch - lovely friendly service and the pizza especially was exceptional. Large serves and great wine choices too.

Let's start with the staff, friendly and helpful. Location, typical mountain restaurant with deliberately outdated furnishings, nothing particularly luxurious. Waiting time for the courses, 45 minutes, but since we weren't in a hurry... ok but too many! We 4 people: 2 pizzas, in my opinion very good. My daughter homemade gnocchi with pesto and stracciatella, she says are amazing! My son requested a Rib-eye rare but it arrived a little overcooked, side dish requested by my son, fries, far too few, side sauces ok, overall very good. 3 panascè is a half of water Two coffees Two tiramisu…. Homemade, clearly homemade cream, a little soft, it should have remained a few more hours in the fridge to harden, but still really good but a small flaw, or rather a big flaw: the ladyfingers, taken from the package and immersed in the cream... it's the coffee? The coffeeèèè!!!!!!! Price 170.-chf really too much, we are talking about a restaurant in San Bernardino not a luxury restaurant. Overall a good meal

A different lunch in those of San Bernardino; refined - delicious - attentive service. Two wooden rooms and a beautiful outdoor terrace for the summer. The pizza is truly delicious. Crisp. But even the classic dishes are well served, particular and unusual for the area. Definitely worth trying

The food was really excellent! Great starter and a really great pizza! After climbing and crossing the San Bernardino Pass, we chose exactly the right restaurant to stop off at. I even took a second pizza back to the hotel room! Fantastico!

The staff here is so much friendlier than what we are used to in the Swiss-German part. My partner had a delicious pasta dish with fish and I had a pizza with Zucchini and Burrata - and let me tell you, the pizza crust was the best I've ever had. We also had some very good Italian red wine. Dessert was also very tasty. Definitely recommend this place!

All very good, we had the pumpkin pie for a starter, the polenta with sausage and trofie for first course, and two desserts. Too bad I didn't photograph the first ones, they were too good and I ate them immediately! Highly recommended

The ownership has changed and the results are visible. High quality of raw material. One of the best pizzas eaten in Switzerland. To try; It's worth the kilometers traveled to get there.

Found this place by chance as all other restaurant or eateries is closed. To our surprise the food here is amazing. All home cooked style by the owner. Pizza and pasta are great. Owner is very nice and patient as we do not speak any french, Italian or .... but we do get very good soup, pasta and pizza. Highly recommended if you are around the area.

Wow! We expected to get groceries on our way in and just cook at our rental house but all the grocery stores were closed. I’m so glad they were because the pizza and service here was incredible!!

Owners son Luigi was amazing at helping walk my wife and I through the menu. He translated to english for us. Great restaurant in a small mountain town. A must stop in my opinion.

A bit dated in terms of decor but nice... The pizzas are very good but also very expensive so I advise anyone who wants to buy them to go to the tourist office to get a discount to pay for them 12 francs for all tastes

They are very kind but, on the pizzas they forgot some ingredients and I ordered a cordon bleau and they brought me a margherita pizza, when the condor bleau arrived there was a hair in it...

2018.03 Improvised dinner Tagliatelle with venison ragout Tuna tartare As always excellent 2017.12 We ate the saddle of roe deer (on reservation) which was really excellent.... and so as not to miss anything we also had the babà (extremely delicate). We decided to stop in San Bernardino for lunch before heading to Zurich. We were very unlucky to arrive in San Bernardino with cloudy weather, since the whole trip we had a beautiful June sun. Nevertheless, San Bernardino was stunning. Let's get something out of the way, if you are passing by San Bernardino then Central Da Andrea is THE PLACE TO GO to for lunch or dinner! Me and the husband had linguie alla pescatore and it was the best we ever had (we had many since we are both suckers for seafood). However, there was one problem with the place and that was the waitress. She didn't know any English which is not a problem usually since we managed before in France and Italy but from the start she didn't make us feel welcomed to the restaurant. When she left us in the care of her more welcoming and English speaking colleague, she still kept giving me and my husband really bad looks and stared at us throughout the whole of our stay and when she served us our antipasto she threw the plates in front of us. So if it wasn't for the food and the kindness of the other waitress I would have given this place a worse review. I really hope that she was just having a bad day because it would be a shame to miss out on this place.

I was in San Bernardino for a week for holidays and I went to this restaurant every day. Really nice place, friendly staff, good food and above all the pasta, which was made by them, was excellent. I recommend trying ravioli with game, gnocchi with courgettes and shrimp. Not to mention the pizza and desserts.. They were delicious. My compliments. I recommend it to everybody

Fantastic restaurant, clean, food is excellent, staff friendly and helpful. I have been there more than once, I recommend trying the fish dishes, very fresh, it feels like eating in a seaside place. For those who love pizza, I also recommend trying speck and porcini mushrooms, it's excellent. If you love good food, this is the right place.
