Very nice location. The waiters were very friendly and kind. We asked for a tartar of red prawn as a starter to share and they brought it already in two plates. The filetto Rossini (steak with foies gras) was very delicious, I didn’t wanted it to finish!! Desert was so creamy and full of flavor.

Very expensive, beware of a rip off

Very good cuisine, not far from the Carona swimming pool and San Grato park. I highly recommend the hike that ends in the park. The “Manzo e Manzo” starter is worth the detour with a real knife tartare and a caramelized marrow bone. The lightly smoked beetroot tartare isn’t bad either. I gave one star less for the atmosphere because of the mosquito attacks, but the setting is charming. In terms of prices, it costs a little less than 30chf for the starter, a little more than 30 for the secondo, and between 30 and 50 for the main course.

We got the sherbet there. A cup currently costs 6 francs. The sherbet was very tasty. We didn't try the main courses there. The waiters were very friendly.

Wonderful restaurant in Carona, beautiful terraces with lots of southern charm. There are many beautiful, exciting dishes on offer. A wonderful evening with very attentive service. Many thanks to the whole team, we will come to visit again.

Service was very bad, our waiter was very rude. We were with a large group and he was rushing through the orders. I’m pregnant so I asked if the meat could be fully cooked, the waiter looked at me like I insulted him and said that the dish would be ruined then. Angrily he changed it into a pasta dish, as I requested. A few moments later they brought an apertivo, with raw meat, which I ofcourse can’t have… and another waiter wanted to pour me wine… Seldomly had such incentive service. Very poorly especially for the price you pay.

We were served very courteously. Although we only ordered ONE pinsa, the pinsa was already served divided on two plates and additional place setting 👍👌. The pinsa was very crispy 😋😋! A return visit is inevitable 😃

La Sosta is a small, very cozy restaurant in a historic manor house that belongs to one of Switzerland's historic hotels, the Hotel Villa Carona. The service is very friendly and has a real Italian flair. The tables are beautifully set. All dishes are freshly prepared. The prices for a small pizza are absolutely reasonable at around 18 CHF. The Irish coffee is really something special and is served with a very generous amount of whiskey. The dishes are lovingly decorated. The restaurant offers warm cuisine throughout and is definitely worth recommending. Mega tasty and great service.

This little oasis is almost in the middle of Carona. Either the pretty garden, the modern, cozy restaurant (with the new, very clean toilets that are really worth seeing 🤩), the beautiful wine cellar or the cozy lounge offer something for all needs. In addition, a very friendly and attentive condition. Regional delicacies with coffee demonstrate the commitment to sustainability and regionality.

Romantic and lovely ambiance paired with fresh food. It was magical. Everything was fresh from the salad to the pasta. The wine list was also impressive. I would highly recommend, but it is pricey.

Nice little place. In a picturesque landscape and village. The service could have been a little bit nicer. But OK. Above all, the food was fantastic. Perfect steak, cooked just right. Nice atmosphere and beautiful seating with a wine. Worth a visit. We'd love to come back.

Good restaurant in a quiet location. Just renovated. North and south external spaces under a beautiful century-old wisteria. Medium level cuisine with slightly "heavy" desserts... too bad the ice cream is served in pre-packaged cups... for two flavors you have to order two cups... at 6.- fr. moon … You pay for a jug of tap water (not even fresh, by the way). 5.- (Swiss-German customs) when the law in Ticino speaks clearly. Complaint without satisfaction! Less chatter and more substance It would make you want to come back…

One of the waiters was so obnoxious, but really mean to me and my little girls. I spent 300 fr there and hoped to be well received. We eat very well. The wine was very good, but unfortunately I was not treated well.

A very nice atmosphere, with very friendly staff and very good cuisine. We were looking forward to the porcini mushrooms in the fall (now also from Ticino) and really got our money's worth. Tagliolini with porcini mushrooms, then also the turbot fillet with porcini mushrooms. The duck leg with red wine sauce was particularly wonderful, as was the dessert variation (for two). It's also nice that you can just stroll through the garden into the hotel room.

This 2nd time one of the other servers was not attentive, a shame for the restaurant (4 1/2 Star). The first time we had perfect service. The 3-course menu is excellent. The lobster ravioli and the beef fillet are served on plates very hot, it's great. The strawberry and chocolate Semifredo Desserts or the panna cotta with hazelnuts and truffles are excellent. The merlot, cabernet, cabernet franc Sottobosco vintage very good. The wine list is a little too expensive, not enough wine under CHF 70.-- It’s a restaurant that’s still worth a detour in a superb Ticino village.

We went to Ristorante La Sosta for lunch yesterday. A beautiful garden ristorante attracted us. The staff gave us a table and brought us the menu. The dishes were advertised with beautiful words and I got the spaghetti bolo, which was offered with a promising name on the menu. Sure, it was actually a starter, it couldn't be ordered as a main course. After a normal waiting time I received my food, get an impression from the attached picture. Basically, the taste of the dish was okay, and the food temperature was within a good range thanks to the preheated plate. The dish was very compact, which meant eating with a fork and spoon wasn't always easy, but with a bit of feeling it was possible. When I look at the dish, a little decoration with something green would have been an enrichment. The portion size, even if it is “just” an appetizer, is clearly in the lower range. Well, now comes the big mystery: what would you pay for it?? I don't want to keep you in suspense for long, the price is CHF 25.- You as a reader of this report will now say that he knew that. Correctly. I can only congratulate the host on the fact that the guests are paying such a hefty price. In any case, we will plan our hike differently in the future and we wish the innkeeper all the best for the future.

Ayant appris la réouverture du napoli qui a changé de nom pour " la sosta " j'ai de suite été interessé par le changement. Nous sommes été 4 jours après l'ouverture. Accueil déplorable ! Personne ne vient nous accueillir on doit carrement chercher le serveur nous même !! A l'époque le patron du napoli venait nous servir les bras grand ouvert. Ensuite une pizza etait presque carbonisée sur les côté et trop basique que l'ont trouve facilement au centre ville donc rien de nouveau , je choisis une pizza il est marqué " sauce mozzarella" je suis choqué car je ne connais pas ... je demande au serveur et le pizzaiolo me dit faute de frappe sur la carte. Super pour une réouverture. La carte est petite par rapport a l'ancienne il n'y à que 3 page et on trouve des " pizza pates et risotto " aucune inovation Pauvre napoli. Je n'y retournerais plus jamais.

My experience? Arrogance to spare... in particular "the waitress" all the staff with masks under their noses! Which is unacceptable! Prices that aren't worth what's on the plate!

Die Bedienung war äusserst schlecht. Für die Bestellung haben wir rd. 25 Minuten gewartet. Gleichzeitig wurden die Hotelgäste zuvorkommend bedient. Schade, aber hier hat kein Angestellter Interesse Kunden zu bedienen, welche nicht dort nächtigen.

We had a lunch there (spontaneously, we did not plan) and it was really good. Th desserts were excellent. Hope to be back there.

Focaccia was cold like the one from the Coop (except that in the Coop they still ask if you would like it warm). Caprese (tomatoes with mozzarella) tastes like nothing (but if you ask for vinegar + oil, it's fine). Minestrone: classic, like from a can. Location is nice.

Die Tische im Garten sind sehr schön zubereitet, die Lage idyllisch und der Service zuborkommend - aber die Speisen (Avocadosalat mit Scampi und die Pasta) sind wenig inspirierend, eher geschmacklos und überteuert. Sehr schade für die wirklich traumhaft schöne Umgebung.

Wir waren schon mehrmals hier und leider das letzte mal. Das Lamm war mehr als durch, der Salat lieblos und schlecht gerüstet. Auf Reklamation wurde nicht reagiert und die Preise sind überteuert. Der Wein war hervorragend. Schade!

Der Besuch des La Sosta war leider nicht so wie wir uns das vorgestellt haben. Die Fotos der Gerichte auf der Homepage entsprachen dann leider nicht unserem Essen; der Avocadosalat (geschnittene fade Avocadowürfel in einem Parmesanbehältnis und dazu drei totgegarte Scampi, drei Cherrytomaten herum drapiert...einfach lieblos),eine lieblose Käseplatte, bitteres Gemüserataouille,Fisch der mit Sauce übertüncht war, fade Kalbsbäckchen. Das Erdbeerpannacotta war gut, aber das Pistazientiramisu(geschmacklich nur süss) verdient seinen Namen nicht. Die Bedienung war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Preise für dieses Essen sind definitiv überteuert. Wir sind froh das wir nur einmal hier gegessen und nicht ein romantisches Wochenende mit Essen gebucht haben.

Buenas pizzas en un ambiente de pub o brasserie. Por qué no? Y también cuentan con conciertos con goops o músicos. Buen cantante la noche que estuvimos allí. Personal agradable, amigable. Ambiente estudiantil y joven, te hace sentir joven o ser joven otra vez. ¡Disfrutar!

Kreative und abwechslungsreiche Karte mit vielen tollen Tessiner Weinen. 3 Abende und 3 verschiedene geniale Abendessen in der wunderschönen Pergola. Herzliche Gastgeber und Top-Service. Ce restaurant est juste parfait, avec un service prévenant et un patron aux petits soins. Les saveurs des plats sont belles. Le cadre est charmant, avec ce jardin fleuri. Et qui plus est, la route en provenance de Morcote est très belle, ça monte sec ! Seul bémol, la recommandation du vin a été moyenne...

La nourriture était bonne - mais rien d'exceptionnel. Trop cher pour ce que vous avez et service extrêmement lent. Les gens étaient très gentils mais pour moi - ne compense pas ce service lent.

Teures Restaurant, jeden Franken wert. Aufgestellter, flinker Kellner begrüsst einem mit einem Amouse Bouche. Vorspeise mit Avocado, Primi Piatti mit einem Risotto mit Birnenstückchen und Secondo Piatti mit Lammkoteletts, einfach genial. Auch die Präsentation. Tirami su und Caffe Coretto als krönender Abschluss, was könnte man sich mehr erträumen?

Die Kalbsbäckli waren Nussgross mit zwei Löffel Risotto und etwas Gemüse und das zu einem Preis von über CHF 40.00. Vor etwa 3 Jahren hatte man noch richtige Stück Kalbsbäckli in einer Schmorpfanne mit genügend Beilage erhalten.

Aufgrund eines Geburtstagsgeschenkes kamen wir zum Mittagessen in diesen schönen Garten. Entspannte Atmosphäre, guter Service und sehr sympathisches Gastgeberpaar. Wir haben das Mittagessen und den empfohlenen, passenden Wein genossen. Kompliment, uns hat es gefallen.

Il ne faut absolument pas passer à côté du restaurant la Sosta ! Tant les grotto sont assez cool mais la Sosta malgré sont image un peu chic par rapport au grotto, est un restaurant délicieux , un très bon rapport qualité/prix et un personnel adorable.

Il posto è un po' discosto ma il viaggio vale la pena, la location è molto elegante e a pochi passi si può godere di un panorama mozzafiato sul Lago di Lugano. Essendoci fermati con l'idea di una pausa pranzo veloce abbiamo constatato dei prezzi abbastanza elevati per dei piatti tipici come carpaccio di manzo e vitello tonnato, anche considerata la porzione che abbiamo ricevuto. La qualità del cibo era invece eccellente il che giustifica in parte il prezzo. Consiglio quindi questo locale per una cena o un pranzo durante il quale ci si può concedere più tempo per assaporare un menu completo e non come nel nostro caso una pausa pranzo veloce. Il servizio è molto cordiale e la cucina è veloce nel preparare le comande.

Passando a Carona avevo visto questo posticino incantevole con tavolini esterni coperti da un bellissimo glicine e finalmente ho pranzato lì con i miei bimbi e i nonni. Tutti molto soddisfatti. Personale veramente cordiale, gentile e professionale. Cibo ottimo e menù molto ricercato. Producono anche un ottimo gin. Sicuramente torneremo. Lo consiglio caldamente.

Almost in the middle of nowhere, up on the mountain, driving narrow streets in beautiful environment, we found it on the corner, almost missed it. Usually everything is closed in the afternoon, but it was open, and the chef was present. We ordered soup, made of natural ingredients, my wife enjoyed a Sukini soup and I took the pumpkin soup both where superb. I had a fillet, it came standing high almost 6 cm and a circle of about 5 cm crowened with obergin. It was done perfectly. If you are in Lugano have good weather, do the morcote coast than drive up to Caron, you will find it on entering the village on your right

Wir sind nicht zum ersten Mal im Sosta. Die Ambiente ist wirklich sehr schön und auch das Personal ist aufgestellt und freundlich. Mit dem Essen ist es so eine Sache... da fehlt mir die Raffinesse, der letzte Schliff... sicherlich, die Menu sind schön angerichtet und durchaus gut... aber irgendwie fehlt der Höhenflug.
