Ristorante Tango in Lugano

We went to dinner last night The waiters were very friendly but the food was average and the value for money was poor. Too expensive for what it is.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and good location. The food was tasty, but there weren't many vegan options available. Also, the waiter's behavior was rude, which affected our overall experience. We might hesitate before deciding to come back.

Centrally and beautifully located terrace on the main square in Lugano. Service friendly but overloaded. It took too long for the drinks we ordered to be served. Too expensive for what is offered.

Place has 80% of tables free and they refused me to have a drink as I was told "only for people that eat" 🙄😐

Menu salad nice and fresh, vegetarian pizza with black, dry base, not tasty mozzarella and old tasting sausage not recommended!

Filetto di manzo was awesome! And the location of restaurant is perfect, in the city center. Good choice of food and drinks.

The food is super delicious and a very big portion , seafood spaghetti and seafood risotto was awesome. The service is a bet slow they took more than 50 mins to prepare the order.

I ordered tango burger Came with fries Fries was great but burger was ok The waiter was dealing with rude attitude with anyone talking English And he was good and polite with Italian speaking customers I don’t know why

Have dined at this restaurant several times. The service was quick and friendly even when it was busy. The food (pizza in each case) is generous in portion size and super tasty. You can eat good pizza here.

Tourist place but very pleasant

Pleasant and very lively atmosphere, the restaurant is located on a main square in Lugano (Piazza della Riforma). Regrettably, there ends the good experience 😅 This is a very touristy and busy place, hence don’t expect much. The service lacked attentiveness, was quite slow too. The dishes seemed rushed, lacking authenticity and taste. Forget about any finesse although one would anticipate a better treat for such price. While we generally avoid such places, this one we picked after a long day and not willing to stroll around anymore.

We tried to spend a pre-Christmas evening in company, outside bar area and not restaurant. Despite a reservation we found ourselves in the midst of so much incivility and arrogance. Skyrocketing prices for poor quality.

Very touristy. The entrance from the back, where the menu and advertising are, is closed. The chicken in the Chörbli and the osso buco con risotto were pre-cooked and warmed up, and tasted that way. The saffron risotto was too al dente and enriched with too much butter.

The standard suggestions for the aperitivo are a bit flat, but when asked nicely there was Kir Royal and an Americano with a creative platter. Nuts and olives were quickly taken from the table. So the quality and expectations of the place were met.

Nice little restaurant in the center of Lugano. Excellent quality/price ratio, the portions are generous. I recommend the grilled octopus, it was delicious! Excellent service, with very friendly and helpful staff.

Best place for Pizza and wine in the Lugano Central area.

Very tidy and nice service. The pizza was very tasty and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, at CHF 9.00, the beer is far too expensive and out of proportion.

The restaurant is beautiful and nice, but the food is not that good. We ordered a margherita and spaghetti with red sauce. The pizza is the most delicious. I thank the employee Bobo for his kind treatment.

For 4 meals including alcohol, drinks and dessert, it is a disgrace to ask for 3 Fr. for an additional dessert spoon.... Sales over 180.00 Fr.

Ordered two carbonaras, both very dry, overcooked, too much parmesan and only fat, no bacon. 25 chf down the drain 😂don't even waste your time going there, a place for tourists

Vaiter not allowed to seat like customer want. He asked to seat only according his position (one looks on other). Restaurant policy for vaiter is more important than customer.

I do not recommend the meat burger at all, the meat is too large. The rosé saffron rosé is delicious and the margherita is a good pizza, the best we have tasted in Lugano.

Delicious, ten out of ten. Order the perfect margarita, the fettuccine pasta is amazing, and the saffron risotto is excellent. There is also a delicious virgin mojito. Good luck.

Ravioli are only 7 pieces on the plate for Fr. 24.50, the pizzas are the best. But we will avoid this restaurant in the future.

I ordered pasta, it was extremely salty, the tomato sauce was apparently straight from the can, not cooked at all. Pasta was extremely aldente. I have never tried such bad pasta. You couldn't eat them, and the waiter didn't even ask why. Apparently they know what kind of quality they offer there

I was in Lugano for a week for work. I tried ALL the restaurants in Piazza della Riforma. You can't beat this! Cristiano served me with kindness, friendliness and professionalism. The chicken in the basket is not even comparable to the competition. The coffee is also excellent, but elsewhere it has often been a disappointment. It's a shame that I only discovered it now.

Not too bad for a place we haven’t researched and we were craving for food.

POOR reception. My spaghetti was very salty and not creamy, the sauce was already dry so it had to be prepared in advance and put in a warmer. The servers ignored us several times. I wanted to add that there is a long wait for the 40 min bill. One thing I know is that it's the worst restaurant I've been to. Really disappointed to have gone. ☹️

Food was overpriced and not that flavorful. Waiter was pretty rude. I sat down at a table with my baby. My son and husband immediately went to the bathroom. The waiter asked how many, then said order in 5 minutes... like my kid is in the bathroom? Really?

Very cold welcome. I felt ignored all the time. The dishes were cold and very salty with no taste, except salt of course. The hamburger bun only has one taste, neither does the meat. The fries are dry and cold. I would still prefer to go to McDonald's. Very long service for two coffees 40 min + 30 min wait for bill. The servers are not organized. Too expensive for the quality. They look like products from Ottos reheated in a microwave. This restaurant really ruined our evening😒

We ask for a table in the shade to have a drink and the very kind waiter informs us that the "drink only" tables are in the sun. Given the high temperatures, I say that I still prefer a table in the shade. Response from the always kind waiter: "then go to Vanini".

The pasta was very tasty and fresh. The customer service was great too. The restaurant is located in a great spot and a short walking distance near to the lake.

Delicious food and unbeatable treatment. We ordered the vegetable risotto: exquisite and balanced and the spaghetti made with authentic Italian carbonara. Excellent tiramisu and we ordered a non-alcoholic mojito that went very well. Already looking forward to returning to the area and the restaurant

Were ignored. It was not possible to order anything! So we left after 20 minutes.

We always eat at Tango when we are in Lugano. It is still reasonable in price compared to other restaurants. Minestrone soup here 9.50 euros elsewhere 18 euros. It is always busy and the waiters are always busy. On some evenings there is someone who does the seating, but not always. That is sometimes confusing.

There is no sign that says you have to wait before sitting down. There were no people waiting at that time, so we found a table that was not reserved and sat down. This resulted in quite a reprimand from what appeared to be a manager in charge. We were quite shouted at but were allowed to remain seated. The staff is quite stressed, sometimes running around, it seems quite chaotic. However, with the exception of that one, people remain friendly. The food and drinks came fairly quickly. However, the amount of food was ridiculously little for the price paid. It had a reasonable taste, but nothing special. We tried 3 vegetarian options (all pasta dishes priced between 17 and 24 Chf), they all contained few ingredients. For us it is not worth repeating.

We were shown to our table and after 20 minutes nobody had even come to our table to ask if we were ready to order. That’s a pretty basic thing to do. We ended up leaving, still without having spoken to a waiter.

We ate excellent, truly excellent food (the risottos are very creamy and super abundant), we were served with extreme kindness and punctuality, the environment is among the best locations Lugano can offer, right in the center without however suffering the exposure to the road. 100% recommended, we will return with great pleasure together with our entire corporate team!

Food was excellent. One of the best spaghetti I've ever eaten. The service is top, we were always asked if everything was ok. The ambience is very nice, you can see the beautiful square perfectly We were even offered free water. We'll keep coming back from now on

Can't understand the worse reviews. Were there at lunchtime on a nice day. It was very crowded but we still got a seat straight away. We were able to order 5 minutes after sitting down. Drinking came after 5 minutes, food after just under 20 minutes. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was good, only the portion was a bit small (I had spaghetti ala carbonara). Priced also within normal limits.

Price/performance is not right, the food is expensive and you only get small portions. This doesn't make you full. In addition, the service is very, very bad, you wait forever even though the restaurant is almost empty. You even wait 30 minutes for the bill. I wanted to leave the restaurant without paying because I waited a total of over an hour. Of course no tips were given. I advise you against this restaurant.

The meal was very good and it wasn't a problem to share a menu for two people. In fact, on the contrary, we were given two small plates so we could share better. The serving staff was very good (spoke several languages, even perfect Swiss German...) and also very welcoming! Big compliment! (July 4th, middle-aged black hair, red bandage)

Restaurant in Piazza della Riforma in Lugano. A restaurant located in the square. Tables outside in the middle of the mega party. Excellent food Try the roasted octopus, a delight. The staff was quick and very helpful, despite the confusion of the moment. If you are in Lugano, try it.

We were there twice. The waiters were all very attentive, friendly and particularly attentive. The person who served us on the first evening recognized us and immediately knew what we had drunk and eaten, from the drink to the dessert. We ate various antipasti, main dishes and desserts, everything was excellent. We have rarely experienced such waiters as in Tango. Everything was excellent. We can more than recommend it. The next time we are in Lugano, Tango will be the first restaurant we visit. 🙏🏼

The saffron risotto is delicious. Spaghetti, like Italian pasta, comes out a little tough. It's okay. I do not recommend Neapolitan pizza at all if it is salty or has seafood in it Four cheeses are okay.
