Runft Cafe in Interlaken

Wait more than 30 minutes. Unfriendly.

Restaurant RUNFT is located in a beautiful tourist resort called Interlaken. It is newly built and very luxurious. There are an incredible number of options for eating and drinking in this restaurant. And best of all, abnormally low prices, you can write quietly, better than in Migrolinos nearby. Hardworking and nice staff, fantastic atmosphere with music. For these reasons I visit RUNFT again and again.

Were there for the first time as German tourists to eat and drink late at lunch. Food was hot and flavorful. Service was friendly and attentive. All in one, we left full and good value for money. Gladly again.

Good location right next to BH Interlaken West

If you want to drink a beer and eat some, you can't go wrong with this place. Portions are generous and tasty, while there's a big selection of drinks, (check the photo.) Nikoleta who was waiting our table was very nice and helpful. (It's quite rare to find such a friendly person who takes the time to explain properly whenever you ask something.) The owner was also friendly and happy to talk to us, so I don't understand why she is called rude in other reviews. Definitely not my experience. Price wise, it is cheaper than the norm in the area. All in all, a great experience.

The Runft is no longer recommended. Bad food (not seasoned), lousy service. When the restaurant was practically empty today, December 23rd, 2023 at 10:45 a.m., we waited more than 10 minutes to order. Ordered a BRIGHT bowl - received Cafe Creme! - There is now a self-drinking bar for farmers with cows instead of the previous super confectionery (so-called Tab Bar). This kind of nonsense doesn't suit Interlaken...

Tasted the amazing goulash soup! 😋 It was absolutely paw-some, and the restaurant had good vibes. Highly recommend it for a delightful dining experience! 🍲✨

If you are a tourist, enter at your own risk. I was served something entirely different from what I ordered, and ended up in a he say she say situation where i was forced to accept an over-expensive dish which i did not order. They don't really speak English and you can't possibly argue with them in their own territory. Very bad attitude and the food is very salty. It's not about the money but it's how they dealt with the situation, utterly disspointed.

I LOVED this restaurant. We went in later on a Monday night because it was one of few places open, and the food blew us away. Caesar salad? Top 3 in my life. Random deer steak? Let’s party 💯💯. Burger time? LEGENDARY. Get a meal here. It’s lovely.

Smells cigarettes everywhere! Got 2 deserts that were plastic and uneatable. Ordered a hot chocolate and got hot milk with chocolate powder to mix myself (I could have done that at home) and a coffee and got (and charged) two different coffees. Avoid at all cost.

Great tasting food! At first we almost didn’t go in because it was a restaurant/bar, and the food isn’t always good. Luckily we went in anyways, and didn’t regret it. The food was delicious! It came out quickly, at the same time, and all the seven plates were hot like they had all just come off the range.

Tasty food. High prices, as is typical for Interlaken. One of the staff on break was having a very loud telephone conversation on speaker phone in the dining room - practically shouting at someone in Portuguese. This was very unpleasant, and detracted from the atmosphere and dining experience. Monday, August 28th at 8 pm.

food and service ok, but live music was way too loud. we couldn't enjoy our dinner and had to leave earlier and have dessert at another place.

Everything about this place was amazing! So many options, as well as excellent service by our favorite waiter Damion. We visited this cafe 6 times during our 10 day stay in interlaken! Very pleased.

The best burger we have ever eaten. Service was prompt and friendly, unlike what other reviewers mentioned.

Actually, the Runft wouldn't be a bad address. But things could go better if the staff were more friendly and a little more attentive to the guests. Long waiting time until you can order something... with "not much" activity and at least 3 staff, that should be possible. I'm not entirely sure, but something isn't going right in the "Runft".

Staff was very super friendly!! It was very tasty and a beautiful restaurant with a good atmosphere. The dish with a specialist from Zurich was also very tasty.

Great food, fast service. Waiter was not friendly and aggresive. Smoking smell was awful inside the restaurant.

New menu... new prices too. The simple dishes have disappeared from the menu. It's a shame I won't go there anymore. I left without ordering anything.

The man who serves the terrace is extremely unfriendly - it's a shame... it makes the whole operation bad. It is not possible to order a coffee with croissants - for the croissants you have to go to the counter yourself... This is not a service for a business like this. Won't be going there again

Stayed for several days in Interlakan, ate at many places but kept coming back to Runft. Great food, great location and a wonderful indoor/outdoor seating area. Our server Damion was fantastic! He treated us with warmth and humor and when he found out it was my birthday he brought me a piece of Black Forest cake then made a toast to my future. A great ending to a great day. My thanks to Damion and all those at Runft. Prost!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner @ this restaurant during our vacation. Do feel the portions were a little smaller than usual but very delicious. The customer service, ambience and the location are very good too. It’s indeed a must visit!

I orederd Rösti. There were two versions - one with bacon and egg, another one with tomatoes and cheese. As I don't eat bacon, I asked them to add egg to the one with cheese. It was nice that they accommodated my needs (extra 1.5 CHF for egg) Then I specifically asked for tap water, not the bottled one. When the bill came, I was surprised to see they charged 4.2 CHF for a glass of water which is ridiculous in my opinion. When I asked the server why, she said water isn't free. So don't ask for water here unless you're ready to pay 🙂

The service was very bad even though it was very quiet, we waited a long time and after we asked for the bill no one came... We also got the wrong thing 3 times...

Service seems overwhelmed, serves 10 people and the bar. After waiting for over 15 minutes, we went to the cash register and ordered there. Wrong drink served. Food was good and was served quickly.

A small, pretty café, pastry shop, restaurant in the immediate vicinity of the West train station in Interlaken. Good parking options in the M parking garage next to it. Friendly, prompt service. The food was fine, good value for money.

This is a DISASTER! The visit of this restaurant finally spoiled the day. Still hope that my health will not be affected. We ordered 2 cordon bleu dishes and drinks. When we started to eat everything seemed to be fine but after I felt some strange texture in my mouth, I had a look at the cordon bleu and noticed that from 1/2 to 1/3 meat inside is literally raw. We asked a girl waiter if it's supposed to be like that. She replied yes. We asked again like are you sure, after that she said that she will take it back(so we even didn't have a chance to take a pic) and asked if I need one more portion. I rejected ofc. C'mon this is a pork and to eat it RAW is DANGEROUS! With all the above no one even said Sorry. But I think in normal case customer servise HAVE to adress those issues if they arose and be polite even if smth went wrong, although normal places would not serve a RAW PORK to their customers. And after long touristic day we even didn't have any energy to figure things out with personnel. In the end when we asked for a bill my husband said on his own that we are not going to pay for the second dish. Just after this weird experience I was really afraid of going to a cafe/restaurant in Switzerland. This is unacceptable!

There were four of us there for dinner, no reason to complain. We felt comfortable there, the food came reasonably quickly and tasted really good (burgers, tarte flambée and cheese fondue). Service was very attentive and friendly.

Very dishonest shop!!!! Bought a coffee and pastry. The food tasted ok but they firstly gave us the wrong change with coins and then later we realised they gave gave us an old CHF 10 bank note which have not been used for 2 years! Very very dishonest! Tried to give us the runaround when we confronted them about the old non-valid bank note by telling us the lady is off work until tomorrow and the manager is not around for the next half hour. Can't believe a cafe would try to cheat tourists with the wrong change and old bank notes that are no longer legal tender. Absolutely appalled

It was a place I went to yesterday without any problems, so I went in to buy coffee again, but today's staff, which was different from yesterday's friendly staff, did not even greet me and was very frowning and angry for some reason without knowing why. Whenever I sighed, I was annoyed and the unfriendly service was received when I left. I was so angry that I have no intention of visiting again. Why are you so annoying? lol

We lived the chill-cafe-vibes here! We got to try Swiss fondue and rosti for the first time, and were not disappointed! We also enjoyed desserts as well!

Restaurant was empty except for 3 tables. Service leaves a lot to be desired. The service was very uncoordinated and seemed totally overwhelmed. I ordered an apple spritzer and my companion a mojito. I waited over 30 minutes for my spritzer, service forgot to bring it. Mojito had almost no taste. There definitely won't be a next time.

Ordered a coffee and I think the machine was broken so it came cold. The waiter was very apologetic and got me a new one. Coffee was good. And the cheese omelette was succulent. Nice bread too. One of the only places open at 7.30 in the morning. The only thing I will say is the coffee and some of the desserts are paid for separately and also ordered from the bakery as apposed to the cafe which might get confusing.

Extremely rude waiter, doesnot take the time to take your order, especially when the cofee place is empty. Gives you no information and no time to look qt the menu. Very condescendent, when we provided him feedback he says i have 3 jobs. That is not an excuse ti be rude. Didnot even offer to reimbourse our drinks that we didnot even touch provided the bad experience we had.

The person waiting the tables was nice and the athmosfere was ok but It is the first fondue I have had in Switzerland for 28 francs that came to the table already half burnt. All the sides of the fondue pot had completely dry cheese on them when it came. The waitress asked many times how was it and the third time she asked I told her about it, to which she answered that she hoped next time would be better and that she was going to talk to the chef. At the end nothing was done about it. We will not be returning.

Nice daily lunch and a la card menu. Staff is friendly and helpful. The adjacent Bar is nice to enjoy a after dinner drink and stays open until 3:00am.

Touring Interlaken and we were looking for a nice place to sit down inside and have a nice lunch. Runft looked inviting because it has so many things to offer. Nice lunch menu and also a very nice dessert menu. Very nice choices for lunch and I tried the soup of the day which was a vegetable soup. Very nice service and food for a relaxing lunch near the train station. Great dessert options and we spent a nice time enjoying lunch at Runft.

Even though the female employee at the bread store said she was buying egg tarts, I don't know, she just repeats that every time she says something. In the end, she gets so upset that she can't buy it. She has no intention of selling it in the first place. Don't sell it to her. It's racist;

Hey, the food here is very tasty, the only thing that bothers me here at Runft is that the service staff are a bit confused, otherwise they're good

This morning we were a guest for the umpteenth time and were disappointed. After ordering, it took a long time until breakfast was served. Only three other guests were there and then the rolls were still warm, yay, but unfortunately they were still frozen at the core. Unfortunately, they only confiscated two varieties on offer embarrassing sorry will definitely come back hope for improvement Greetings Thomas

In RUNFT with Free WiFi I was able to process a few emails undisturbed. The service staff is attentive and nice. I spontaneously had lunch here and it was delicious! Will come back when I'm nearby.

After five years I'm back in Interlaken, visited again today, the reputation of the hotel is still as good as it was five years ago. good service, courteous staff.

Drinks delivered without ice, saved with lemon. Chnobli bread was delivered cold despite being warmed up. Potential for improvement is high.

Bad service, the staff fails even with the simplest orders

Staff: ok, not very motivated Food: ok, not really convincing. The bread was Aufbachzüpfe, the cheese slice was soaked with wine, the tarte flambée had 3 slices of salami and 3 full handfuls of olives... Price-performance; OK, sufficient for a bar but otherwise rather high for the quality of the products/service. Conclusion; I probably won't visit again.

Were there twice. Service was a bit unfriendly the first time, ok the second time. If you want to split the bill between several people, it becomes very difficult. Even though there weren't very many people there, this was very undesirable and was simply ignored. Otherwise it would be a great place.

The 5th star is missing because guests who came after us ate before us. Otherwise, gladly again.

This evening 07/16/21 we had two different waiters. They were both quite unfriendly and impolite. No trace of hospitality. To pay you had to call x times and then wait forever even though there were almost no people there. All in all, simply INSUFFICIENT!!! We'd rather go to McDonald's. Nicer staff work there. Take an example there.

Caught the best waiter tonight ;-) Thursday July 8th, 2021 - 5:15 p.m Food very good, large portions, fair prices. Large selection of patisserie and fine chocolates. Come back at the next opportunity.

Highly recommended: Oberländer cheese fondue. Staff friendly and full of humor.

Everything was super nice and very pleasant. I actually love it and always eat at Runft when I'm in Interlaken.
