Everything perfect. The tavolata is fantastic and there is plenty of it. We chose the large version. Everyone had enough. The selection was appropriate and well presented.

My recent visit to the Rüsterei in Zurich for lunch was a real experience. The restaurant impresses with its cool flair and pleasant ambience, which immediately catches the eye and invites you to linger. The choice of food for our lunch was a tomato soup as a starter and lamb with rice and vegetables as a main course. The portions were absolutely adequate for a lunch meal and the taste was excellent. The lamb was perfectly seasoned and went well with the rice and vegetables. The tomato soup was also convincing with its great acidity and excellent seasoning. A small downside, however, was the waiting time, which seemed a bit long for lunch, although it was ultimately worth the wait. In terms of price, the armory is at a higher level. Although I am aware that quality, especially when it comes to meat dishes, comes at a price, the pricing seemed a little too ambitious to me. Nevertheless, I would return for another culinary experience, because the restaurant's taste is convincing across the board. The Rüsterei is therefore a recommendation for everyone who is prepared to pay a higher price for excellent quality. 4 stars because I find the prices a bit too high for a lunch menu.

Hamburger: bun was burnt, meat over cooked (they didn’t even ask how we wanted it). Cauliflower also overcooked. Service and atmosphere were fine but just don’t go there to eat.

Best evening we ever had With Gabor as a waiter, the best thing in life. With a smile he led us around the room, His operation was simply a dream. He knew the menu inside and out, Recommended dishes to us, they were terrific and unique. His recommendations always hit the mark, Every bite was a true miracle of taste. With his attention and his charm, He enchanted us all, it was warm. He made sure we didn't want for anything, And the food tasted simply delicious on the spot. With his nimble gait and his elegance, He brought us drinks, always dancing. We never had to wait long for him, He was always there to wait for us. I'm aware of the general price level in Zürich, but this was excessive for a completely burnt burger (or is there supposed to exist a rusk burger). Try Holy cow instead, costs less than half and is really premium.

Expensive, poor service, food well below average, endless waiting times. Ideal for all Zurich hipsters who feel comfortable in such places and tell each other how sensational these restaurants are. It used to be good... a shame.

At first there was no service for a long time, then I ordered at the counter. The order was forgotten. Only when we asked did we receive our drinks after waiting half an hour. There isn't much room for improvement when it comes to service

Super Sero, very fine food. Also great for large groups or just for two. They also offer a children's menu.

The restaurant is located in the Sihl City area and is very well served by public transport. There are paid parking spaces in Sihl City for drivers. The restaurant is designed in an industrial style, the traces of the past are clearly visible inside, which makes it something special. The armory offers outdoor and indoor seating; reservations are advantageous and sensible. The air inside is a bit stale, but you get used to it. The staff is friendly, tries hard, always correct and attentive, you feel welcome. The buffet is modest, there is a bit of everything, not everything is refilled, which I thought was a shame. In order to avoid food waste, various dishes had to be ordered from the operating staff, which made sense. However, the waiting times were considerable and there may be a need for action here. The quality of the food varied, but on average it was mediocre. The coffee had little taste. The price level is high, the price-performance ratio is not right for me. The toilets were ok in terms of cleanliness.

Good food and also great atmosphere. The only negative thing is the CO2 information on the menu. Considering that the atmosphere consists of only 0.04% CO2, this emission is not particularly important. On the contrary.

I've been to the Rüsterei several times for business meals and everything has always been top notch, from the reservation to the service to the choice of food for lunch or dinner. The meatloaf in particular is always worth a treat!

I usually really like this restaurant. The location, the architecture and ambience are the best. However, i went for lunch last tuesday by myself, and ordered the coconut noodle soup, i was really hungry. I was so happy when saw my plate landing on my table: it was transparent and had three noodles in!! i wanted to cry, asked the lady to please double check if that was what i had ordered, she confirmed. I was hangry*, thank goodness it had three nice shrimps in it too, they saved me. ... Unfortunately i ended up attacking the three pieces of bread i triumphantly had manage to ignore while waiting for my desired noodle soup :( (((actually 4 months had i been triumphantly ignoring dry white bread :( ))). I must admite this was the first time it disappointed, so I'll be back, i'll probably order the burgers, they looked good---- with sweet potato fries.

The service was friendly, but something was broken in the order-delivery process chain. We've ordered 3 menus and one soup as starter. Supposedly, due to the starter, the main menu was only delivered 45 minutes after the initial order. Having 10 minutes to finish a lunch menu in a restaurant is quite ambitious 🤷‍♂️

Super fine and varied food with a clear line, beautifully presented. Lots of local ingredients from small producers with excellent products. Very attentive and friendly service with a lot of sensitivity, even for children. Authentic ambience for a cozy evening. Gladly again, we are thrilled!!!

Very good staff, cool atmosphere and the food is always great. We always enjoy coming here. There are always discoveries when it comes to drinks. Can only recommend it to everyone.

Before we went to the cinema, we wanted to have a relaxing drink. Unfortunately, this was not the case. It took forever before we could order, and in that time 6-8 guests had left without ordering anything. It took a good 15 minutes for the beer and wine to arrive. We had to ask three times if we could pay before the bill came.

Sometimes less is more. The seating is comfortable, the service is good, the food is nicely presented, but I miss the lightness of the warm and honest hospitality. You want a lot here, but you can still feel and taste that everyone here is just doing their job. A fried egg on a citizen, which is then covered in sauce so that it can only be eaten with a knife and fork, has not understood the basic principle of a burger. Only the designer can understand why the dessert is also served on a wooden block on a platter, even though it was visually and tastefully impressive. Sometimes it's just the simple things that you can only really enjoy when there isn't so much fuss around it. There was nothing wrong with the food or service, but it was just average and not outstanding. The price is slightly upwards, but still within reasonable limits. Unfortunately, it is not enough for us to wish to visit again.

Wow, spontaneously had dinner with the family in the Rüsterei today… Very stylish and cozy restaurant with super friendly service. We ordered the Tavolata and absolutely loved it. The selection and quality of the food was excellent. Clear and good wine list. Very fair price-performance ratio. Special requests for the kids were also fulfilled. I haven't been so positively surprised in a long time - simply great! 👍🏼 I'll definitely come back, but first I'll go on a diet for at least a week... 😉

I have been a regular guest at the Rüsterei for many years and it was, is and remains one of my favorite places: the ambience is unbeatable and so is the whole team: warm, friendly, familiar and professional. There are a variety of culinary options to try out, with changing menus including Tavolata. You never get bored and I was always pleasantly surprised with the taste. If I haven't had time to go to the armory for a long time, I'm missing something! It is a place that for me is part of Zurich and my good times! So simply recommended! I would like to thank the whole team for these great memories.

Amazing food. We were a party of 4, and everyone loved their meal. From the burgers to the vegetarian options, the food was excellent. Service was really good as well. Highly recommend it.

It was the first time we had been to the Rüsterei in about 5 years and we were very happy that we were spontaneously given a table there. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. The food was delicious, but we waited almost 35 minutes while guests who came after us received their food (also burgers like us) before us. I then asked the waitress in a very friendly manner, who apologized and went to take a look (she also noticed that we hadn't received anything yet). The food was then brought within 5 minutes. At that time they had a large group in the house plus a full terrace, but there didn't seem to be enough staff for that. However, the toilet was an imposition. It stank of urine, the toilet bowls were full of toilet paper and covered in pee - I know you share the toilet with others in the house but that's a no-go!

I wouldn't recommend it. We were there with a group and have some criticisms. The waiting time was over 45 minutes. We were not informed. Only when we explicitly asked was something served - the food tasted rather less and CHF 36.- for five shrimps is rather hearty. The fries delivered were cold and soggy. Unfortunately completely inedible. There was a feeling that the staff was heavily overworked. Afterwards we ate at another restaurant. It's a shame, the location had potential.

Great food!! Fresh and very good quality. We had a burger that was super fresh and juicy and a perfectly braised lamb shoulder with a very tasty polenta and sauce. Great food, great team and place! We are thrilled (PS we rarely are)

A very nice restaurant where you immediately feel at home. I ordered the California burger with fried potatoes and a refreshing drink with raspberries. It was delicious. For dessert there was this lava cake with liquid chocolate inside, which I also really enjoyed. The service here is friendly and very attentive, you never have to wait long whether it's to order or pay. Everything in a top restaurant and top food.

I DID NOT RECEIVE MY MAIN, I LEFT HUNGRY!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE. FOOD JUST OK. Service was very very bad... It was very hard to get their attention because they were always chatting or looking away. Nobody was watching the tables. In the end, I had to watch my partner finish her food. I was so fed up with waiting that I cancelled my main and settled the bill, I didn't want my parter to watch me eat when she had finished all her food (I insisted she not wait). To their credit they gave me a 10% discount on the bill, but I would have preferred to have eaten my food of course!! We had one octopus leg, which was just ok. My partner had portobello mushrooms, very average, and had chili/spice which she could not handle, it was not mentioned on the menu! 1 star for food at this price where you expect much more (with such terrible service). Atmosphere 2 stars, simply cos there was so much waiting and trying to get attention. The environment and setting is good, could have got 5 stars if I were in a happier mood. I ended up going to McDonald's next door - I haven't been to McDonald's in years, I avoid it when I can - I was that hungry. MCDONALD'S HAD MUCH BETTER SERVICE!! VERY ATTENTIVE AND FAST!! Maybe Rüsterei can consult McDonald's on how to organise their service. Unfortunately, the McDonalds food was a far cry from the healthy Buddha Bowl I was looking forward to at Rüsterei. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! TRY SOMEWHERE ELSE!! I live locally, there are many other good restaurants in the area.

Super fine food in a relaxed atmosphere with excellent service. The terrace is super cozy and perfect on a summer evening! Also perfect for corporate events.

Was often a guest in the left part, the so-called “canteen”. Partially combined menus in summer/outdoors. My favorite food is the Caesar salad with bacon, but I can also recommend other salads, the burgers or Ghackets Hörnli. Fast, casual, uncomplicated and always good. Right has more expensive, more sophisticated menus and grills. Drinks also great. Sometimes disco music inside too.

Actually a cozy location. Food was also quite good so far. Unfortunately, service was completely overwhelmed. We waited 40 minutes for the aperitif drink that came with the meal and the next drink was forgotten again and we had to down it before the cinema started. The drinks were also presented carelessly, Lillet without cucumber or anything else and Aperol Spritz without an orange wedge and that for 14.- per drink. Unfortunately it wasn't a good experience and we won't try it again. Food was good, but not something that would be particularly recommended... but nothing to complain about... still a shame...

After shopping we had a quick drink here. The waitress was very friendly, but what really irritated us was that around 8:00 a.m. she turned people away from the terrace because they wouldn't serve anything outside. And this was in the middle of summer when many people were still coming out of the shopping center. The explanation was that they weren't keeping up with the orders outside. It wasn't even that crowded. The restaurant would otherwise be great, but something needs to change here!

Pretty outside seating area. The service was very friendly, but 19 CHF for a Caesar salad in a small starter bowl and 9.50 CHF for a liter of tap water is outrageous even for Zurich. The chicken add-on was also rather dry and bland. The price-performance ratio here is not right for me at all. A pity.
