Today six of us had brunch at the Dolder Grand Saltz Restaurant. The quality of the delicacies was great. It starts with a short greeting and general questions such as: vegan, vegetarian and allergies. Afterwards, the drinks are ordered and you can get your classic brunch from the beautifully prepared buffet. There is a good selection of croissants with and without filling, plaited bread and other breads, homemade jam, juices and delicious Biechermüesli. The various main courses start at 1 p.m. All beautifully prepared and served every 10-15 minutes. At this point I have to mention that the service was very friendly and helpful. A lot of time was spent clearing away plates, glasses and rubbish. So you had a little less space on the table in between. I would have liked a small container on the table for waste such as Lätta and butter paper. During the meal, appropriate and modern music played, which we noticed very positively. The desserts were very delicate and beautifully presented. Good selection of different flavors. My favorite was the hazelnut mousse with blueberry compote. Overall, a nice new experience for people who want to try something different.

Saltz as the Dolder Grand's restaurant did not convince us. They do not live up to the claim of being the best hotel in Zurich. The food, brunch on the weekend, was excellent. There is a mix of take-your-own buffet and served dishes. Serving and clearing away is done by assistant waiters who probably have neither experience nor training. Dear Dolder: The basics were missing. The man gets the plate first, then the woman. Dishes are cleared away when the other person is still eating. Dishes are removed from the serving plate when you are still eating. Coffee is dispensed crosswise across the table. With an upscale 5 star claim for the hotel and the associated restaurant and a price of CHF 128.00 per person, the price/performance ratio was not right.

What a big disappointment. Beautiful hotel on wonderful grounds, but got really screwed with the brunch. A few starters are laid out buffet-style, but we didn’t know that the main would only come out an hour after our reservation was set for. We then spent another two hours waiting for them to very slowly drop a main course at a time, which was not so great. When we complained (2 hours after arriving), the manager just said “we’re running late, but the dessert is already laid out”. So basically have some sweets until we bring out the filet?! One doesn’t pay CHF 128 per person for such poor service and a super slow buffet, holding you hostage till you get all your food!

I booked lunch for a weekday for a party of 24. They asked us to choose set menus beforehand for easier preparation on their side, which we did. On the day, 4 people could not make it at the end and it was 20 of us. Food and the service were good. At the end when I wanted to pay the bill it looked bigger than what I calculated and meals were itemised instead of the set menu (although I think it’s the same price whether you order individual items or set menus). The manager told me he’s going to correct it. He apologised and gave me a bill of the exact same amount now listing menus instead of individual items. I saw they charged 24 menus including the 4 no shows. I asked him where is the food from those 4 menus because we never received them and he said they binned it (?). I don’t understand why we were never offered these 4 three-course menus when they were added to our final bill. Either they should have offered us the food, or not charge us for it and definitely communicate this to us.

130 Francs wasn't worth it at all. Being honest, the only thing good was the oyster. I expected more seafood and interesting dishes, but there was a lot of bread and cereals. The pampkin wasn't neither tasty. Nothing that you can not buy at a supermarket. The 6 main course, none was surprising, I couldn't finish the seefood soup because it was extremely oily. I felt very pressed eating the courses because you are only given 10 min for each. I was eating and I left the fork apart to drink water and the waiter just took the plate away, I was so surprised and he said: oh, you wasn't finished? You have to put your cutlery like this, not like this... I came to eat and enjoy or at least I tried, not to learn how to make you understand if I was finished or not. The problem is not that he took my plate away, sometimes things like this can happen, but you cannot just tell your guests how to behave and eat. The desserts wasn't really good, only a small selection, nothing special. Wenn I saw the menu, I had actually high expectations, it sounded very nice, (seefood soup, risotto, pork belly, etc) but I got also very disappointed and a little amazed how could they cook something like that with the ingredients they mentioned. I think for a more relaxing environment and experience, it would be perfect if you just let your guests choose what they wanna it and wenn they wanna eat and not just pressing them. At the end I was full of disappointment and food that I didn't like.

I reserved this place for our anniversary on the terrace on a Sun evening. We were quickly seated when we arrived. The service was impassable. The food was very delicious. The waiter took off the drinks from our bill. They were able to accommodate our dietary requirements of no alcohol and no pork as well. The view was nice and we had a fabulous time travelling inside the Dolder as well.

Came for a last min bday dinner as we couldn’t get to our booked restaurant due to road closure. They were very flexible and seated us quickly. The menu was extensive and had good interesting dishes, not your boring every restaurant offerings. Everything was excellent. The service was a bit lacking for a Dolder restaurant, maybe there were too few servers and too many diners. Nevertheless they were very polite.

What an outrageous attitude from one Damian. We were in the upstairs lounge, reserved a table at Saltz & received confirmation from our waiter. When I got there I was treated so disrespectfully by this Damian because he couldn't find the reservation. Even to me: “We have several restaurants, I can’t find anything here” When my friends came over (who booked a suite for several days!!), he made absolutely no attempt to behave more politely or friendly. SOOOO SO BAD! The food was great but this gentleman really spoiled the beginning of the evening for us.

The Saltz is one of the restaurants directly in the Dolder. It is modern and stylishly furnished and has a huge outdoor terrace in summer with a great view of Zurich and the lake. The service is very friendly and speaks German and English. All dishes are beautifully prepared and served lovingly decorated. In terms of taste, there is a little surprise for the palate in every dish, such as a special spice, the delicate preparation, and an intense vegetable or fruit taste. In terms of price, the Saltz is in the upper range. Our 4-course menu was definitely worth the 120 CHF per person. When there is a lot of activity, there may be some waiting times. From our point of view, Saltz is a great restaurant with extremely fine cuisine and very friendly staff.

You prepay a fondue set for take away they do not offer it to you when you pay the check. You write them to give humanity a chance to make it right and they don't reply. The company who you booked through, replies instantly. The fondue was average. The tartar was really good, the goose liver was average. Deserts, average. Sometime you feel that a place is not worth your time even for a 1 star review. And that's what I think they deserve.

Gotmeru 14-minute restaurant-Saltz, Zurich The restaurant is located on the basement floor of The Dolden Grand, Zurich's top luxury five-star hotel. Because the hotel is located on the top of the mountain, the restaurant's terrace feels like a mid-mountain villa. Unfortunately, it was very foggy and did not have a beautiful view of the Zurich River, but the hotel The castle atmosphere and the steaming swimming pool next to it still allow people to integrate their body and mind into the harmonious atmosphere of coexisting with nature... Pre-dinner snacks: Standard European style, butter with bread, the restaurant name highlighted on the butter and the homemade mixed petals are really unique. This butter is also paired with the staple Angus steak, and the butter box is specially made. Easy to access. Appetizer: snow creb meat, the raw crab meat is finely chopped, with a circle of Yozu-Ponzu sauce around it, and some beans sprinkled on top (Favebohnen I thought it was edamame, but it tastes like fish roe), two Slices of carrot, I think the chef originally planned to use Takuan, because the menu says Gelber Rettich; Appetizer: Saltz-Schlemmer-Schnitte gourmet bread slice Rindstatar is made of high-quality ground beef. The mixed flavor with herbs makes this appetizer that looks like a cake taste like a stir-fry, and the fish roe on it also tastes good; Appetizer: Ikarimi Rauchlachs. For me, salmon is really a waste if I don’t eat it fresh. And this pickled salmon is indeed salty, which is very suitable for German tastes. Their tongues have developed antibodies to salt from a large amount of canned and pickled foods... Soup: Hokkaido Kürbis-Creamsuppe Hokkaido pumpkin cream soup. When the soup is served, it is poured into the soup plate. The golden liquid slowly covers the bottom of the white porcelain plate, which is inexplicably very relaxing. For beginners, I would recommend their Dorade Royale in <Saltz> Crust and also their delicious Dolder Truffle Fries. The service is top-notch and the atmosphere is great. Very distinct decorations. After dinner you can walk around The Dolder Grand and appreciate the arts, luxury items on display, etc.

Big disappointment. 20ish mini-courses, some served at the table and some at buffet which looked pretentious and certainly not everyone’s taste. The worst part was the dessert choice, some of them were uneatable and honestly quite cheaply made. Minimal choice of pastries and breads. I miss the old days of the excellent and decadent Dolder brunch buffes. Service was attentive, but I doubt waiters were all professionals. The pace at which courses were brought to the table made us feel overwhelmed. We even asked to slow down but our request was ignored.

We were sited on the terrace and enjoyed the wonderful views of the city and Zürich lake. While we definitely enjoyed ourselves, we did not find the experience extraordinary. Except for one, we were not wowed by the dishes - perhaps our expectations were too high.

After more than 4 years, we wanted to enjoy the fantastic brunch at the Dolder Grande again. I was really looking forward to the rich buffet from my memories with my husband. Unfortunately, the whole break concept was thrown out the window. An exquisite selection of dishes that left nothing to be desired turned into a strange buffet with dishes that were of very high quality but did not meet my taste. Apart from the rolls and croissants (which unfortunately also decreased in quality), there wasn't much that reminded us of a brunch. The food that was served at the table lacked a story and seemed wildly mixed up. They tasted good, but somehow they were missing that certain something. Unfortunately for me the whole thing was a downgrade. Brilliant memories became sober reality. Everything was reduced except the price. The service was, as always, very good. Very friendly and courteous staff who always tried to fulfill every wish within their means. Unfortunately I also have to criticize the start time for brunch. For me, brunch is still part of breakfast, so I find 12 o'clock a bit late. The champagne was very fine. I drank the whole thing a bit nicely. Unfortunately, the brunch concept no longer meets my taste and wishes. It's a shame, I'll really miss the earlier brunch.

Breathtaking view and good service, for the rest it is really the minimum service given the place and the pretension, "recipe card" cuisine served lukewarm, furniture and cleanliness of the terrace very fair, communication with the reservation service impossible for the change and refund of deposit. (Fortunately the hotel reception resolved the problem) The cuisine of this “bistro” is clearly not up to the level of the Dolder image given by the hotel.

Great brunch in the Saltz des Dolders restaurant. Large selection of homemade dishes. In addition to the buffet, warm dishes are offered, from eggs Benedict to duck breast and entrecote. The tuna steak was a dream, as was the house-made nougat spread. Attentive service, dining on the terrace is wonderful, and if you're lucky you can still enjoy the view of the lake. Great music from the DJ. The only thing that needs to be optimized is that, in my opinion, the warm dishes are served too quickly. Enjoyment can be neglected because the warm dishes are served quickly one after the other. You pay 135 francs per person, including water, coffee, tea and soft drinks. If you can, you should try the brunch at Dolder.

Very sad . Had called the day before and asked to sit indoors for health reasons because of the heat. Unfortunately this was refused on the day of brunch. As a thank you, we were placed in front of loudspeakers so that no meaningful conversation was possible. The price performance is very questionable, chicken and very tough beef. The food was up to standard, of course the place itself was lovely, but the service was so strikingly bad that I wish I could leave zero instead of one star. We had a server, Julia, who was very dynamic at first. She really pushed the champagne a discreción- which we got two of, while one of our other guests was not drinking and the other wanted a beer. We had to put up with being ignored, with being told to wait with a rude shrug and hand gesture, and then Julia even asked us not to go to her manager to pay (we wanted the bill and had to wait about 20 min to be able to get her attention). The restaurant is small and was not even completely full. When my friend and I went outside to the terrace and were seen by two employees - (I think Diego and Constantin) they immediately showed us the type of service we expected - asking if they could top us off. They then got harassed by Julia because they offered us rose instead of regular champagne, which was uncomfortable to witness and also angering as they were actually providing us with nice friendly service. I think if our experience had been with another server, it would’ve been completely different. It’s a shame because I was hoping this would be a place to often visit for a nice Sunday brunch in Zurich but at the risk of getting terrible service it is not worth the (on average with drinks etc) 250CHF per person.

I can't recommend the brunch more. There could have been more selection of cheese and meat, there weren't enough vegan options. One soup was oversalted and feedback was as follows: "People like it that way." Otherwise the food was rather bland and unseasoned. Service could have been more attentive, some of the service staff had very artificial smiles. And that's just a short version of what I could report back. The brunch is not worth the money. It's a shame, I really hoped for more.

We went to Saltz for Valentine’s Day and ordered the Valentine’s special. It was a 5 course meal and everything tasted fantastic. We found the combination of flavors in every dish as well as the succession of dishes very much to our taste. The selection of wines by the glass and bottle was very good and made to accommodate all tastes. The time between the dishes was also optimal. The service was perfect - the staff maintained a great balance of professionalism and friendliness. Overall a very positive experience, we intend to go back.

The cuisine is excellent. But we had a problem with the return of deposits. In fact, when booking, I had to leave 3 deposits for the 3 evenings (300 chf). I had to contact the restaurant 5 times to request the return of my deposits... Nothing nothing. At one point, a person even told us they couldn't find our reservation... Incredible. By writing this review on Google, it was the hotel which finally clarified this situation by contacting me by e-mail, and which reimbursed me the last deposit which was missing. I thank the hotel, but this mishap truly leaves a bad memory. This system does not seem to be viable, and the restaurant should find another solution.

We went to Saltz for the so called Dolder Brunch. That's a special setting with a whole lot of small meals, desserts, bread, cheese and whatnot. Certain meals are served directly at the table, others are à la discretion, even Oysters. It starts at noon and lasts for about 3 hours, softdrinks, tee, coffee are included. We tried most everything available and each plate was delicious. The staff was great as well, welcoming and up to their task paying attention. They also know the products they serve very well.

The Dolder complex is impressive. Unfortunately, the Saltz Restaurant doesn't come close. The food was quite good, but we didn't find the service to be up to par. Why do people ask you on the phone if you have allergies when everyone is then served exactly the same thing? The waiter who brings the food should be able to clearly explain what exactly is being served. “As it says on the map” is not an explanation. Furthermore, you have to wait a relatively long time until the waiter comes: at the beginning we were waiting for 5 minutes, the drink we ordered was forgotten and in the end there was only one waiter responsible for 10 tables to collect money.

The place is nice and the Dolder is a unique and exceptional hotel for sure. However, unfortunately the service has really declined at Saltz. A (lethal) mixture of arrogance, non-flexibility, and being unable and slow. And I am saying this as a guest who eats there at least twice a month and stays at the Dolder. Not a recommendation from my point of view! Absolutely not up to the standard level the hotel is trying to display (and to charge). Better go somewhere else.

We stayed at the hotel and got to know the restaurant in the morning with an excellent selection of food and first class service. In the evening we were able to enjoy the “Atlantic Turbot in the Saltz” crust” in a relaxed and attentive atmosphere. The food was a pleasure all around. The service was always friendly and unobtrusive. It was a successful stay for us.

What a desappointment !!!!! More than two hours by train to enjoy a magnificent and delicious brunch in a heavenly setting. When booking, the credit card is directly debited with 100 francs. Ok, no worries, since I'm expecting to have a wonderful time. Unfortunately, due to the lack of customers (according to the waiter, only around twenty people reserved), there was no buffet, but table service, and no live cooking station. An email or telephone to inform me would have been obligatory. Prisoner of my reservation, I still enjoyed a very good meal, unfortunately in a noisy "discotheque", with a disc jockey who also had breakfast on her podium. For a palace, it's rather curious. If you want a romantic place, change palaces. That said, the service was excellent and professional, but this will remain my only visit to Dolder.

We've came here for the first time to celebrate our civil wedding with friends. When we're booking the restaurant I was sure it will be very good because of the reputation of Dolder hotel and unfortunately it was such a disappointment. I even don't know where to start... Well, at expensive and fancy restaurant I can close my eyes on a lot of things, but not food quality/cooking. It was simply awful, we had a feeling that a lot of ingredients were precooked like in a cantine and then added to dishes, as we had the same octopus for starter and main dish. Pasta was not simply overcooked it was boiled. Pretty much everything we've ordered wasn't tasty. I just simply don't understand how is it possible to cook so badly in a fancy and expensive restaurant like that. Then atmosphere was very boring, no music, no design on the terrace, waiters also lacked the training and social skills, we had to wait a lot, some requests were mixed up and even got bad wine. While booking there is a question if it's a wedding or birthday celebration, but in the end we've got very inexperienced waiter, nothing at all for our special day, like a small compliment or at least congratulations or decoration for the deserts we've ordered. And finally, while booking there is a 350 CHF booking fee and they of course forgot to remove it from the bill. Good that we've checked for that... I regret ow that I didn't checked the reviews before booking.

The food was very good. Service unfortunately slow and inattentive. Design and decoration of the restaurant in my opinion really strange and distasteful. I had to pay 50 CHF per person just to make the reservation. The amount was described as a deposit that would be deducted from the bill. However that didn’t happen and I had to call them so they refund the amount. No apology. I will likely not return. Overall disappointing for a restaurant in a ‘grand hotel’.

wir waren zu Corona-Zeiten im Januar 2021 zum Nachtessen im Saltz und hatten von den durchmischten Bewertungen gelesen, uns aber selbst überzeugen wollen. .Der Empfang war ordentlich, die Bedienung freundlich, wenn auch nicht ganz sattelfest. Der Wein wurde zuerst zu warm serviert, das Essen war sehr fein, aber auf dem Tisch nicht mehr sonderlich warm, schade. Einzig das Tartar ist zum vergessen, zu grob, schlecht abgestimmt und für den Preis zu mickrig. Ansonsten hat uns das Ambiente und das Gebotene gepasst, ist aber sehr hochpreisig.

Die Bedienung der Kellnerin war freundlich und aufmerksam. Sehr sympathisch die Dame. Die beiden Herren die das Essen dann brachten und uns danach bedienten war leider nur noch, wenn überhaupt, Mittelklasse. Beim Wein wurde fast 2/3 des des Glases aufgefüllt. Züri Gschnetzelts für ca. 50.- war leider etwas fade... Naja für den Preis erwarte ich als Gast viel mehr. Gibt defintiv bessere Restaurants in Zürich

Strange and very disparate interior decoration, mix of climbing ropes, natural stone and red light district - very uncomfortable for your eyes. Large choice of dishes but again, some unusual and rather unpleasant mix: cherry tomatoes with burrata and sweet-sour passionfruit dressing. 48 swiss francs for a dry piece of salmon, any sides come at an additional price. Cream spinach was made with frozen mixed leaves. Wine (30 sfr per dl for a wine which costs 60 sfr per bottle in the shop) was much too warm (´because we store the bottles right on the bar’). Gladly the very nice waiter changed it to a perfectly tempered wine, opening a new bottle. Thanks for this.All in all: ok if you stay at the hotel and just need a quick dinner but certainly not a place where I would look forward going to.
