Sam's Pizza Land in Zürich

My daughter rarely eats much but she LOVED the lasagna so much she ate it 2x this week already.

We discovered Sam's Pizza Land by chance yesterday and absolutely loved it! Cozy location in southern style, the Louisiana + Mississippi pizzas were a dream; fresh ingredients, crispy base with lots of delicious toppings! In addition, the small Green salad and the Chardonnay, all served pleasantly and friendly by Mary, rounded off our dinner perfectly... Easily accessible on foot from the train station. We'll be back soon!

Had a table reserved at 6 p.m. We were half an hour late because we were looking for a parking space. When we arrived, as we were walking past, a slightly older lady with glasses told us that it was already 7 p.m. and that we were completely late. We tried to call three times and someone picked up but then hung up again. It's not possible to be so cheeky and say it's already 7 p.m. and not pick up the phone three times because you don't feel like it. The other service employees were very nice, especially the blonde woman who served us was very nice and accommodating. But the older lady with the glasses was absolutely cheeky and had no desire to work because of her work ethic.

From 2023: I ordered around 7:50 p.m., at 8 p.m. I got a call that they weren't delivering to me because I had given a bad review 😂 : 2 weeks ago I gave a negative review about the delivery time, instead of 50 minutes, it took just under 1.5 hours. Instead of eliminating the problem simply because you can't manage it organizationally or in terms of personnel, you take it upon yourself. Money has not yet been refunded. Update February 25th, 2024: ordered 15 minutes ago, was canceled immediately 😂 instead of proving that you can do it better, you forego the sales. But hey, I don't hold grudges. The reviews aren't getting any better...

Lots of choice and quite tasty in itself. Pizza is great and so are other dishes, but today I had the spaghetti with Arabiatta sauce and giant prawns. The taste was good but the thick spaghetti made it all inedible. I have never eaten spaghetti noodles so thick in my life, please change them, they are terrible😖. Great value for money and friendly waiters! 1 star less because of the spaghetti...

Indecent, cheeky, and stingy, those are the only words that come to mind after eating in this shop, you ask nicely for a little more sauce, and the dear employee Sasi points to the almost empty sauce that was intended for 3 people, and says you still have it and just turns away. When I asked him if he was serious, he said a few things about us to his even cheekier work colleague, grinned and then brought us the sauces. I don't understand exactly what their problem was, but they are definitely very strange employees.

Staff were attentive and pleasant until it came to paying and I didn't leave a tip. The food was grand but nothing to write home about. We had pizza which had so many herbs (dried) on it that you could taste very little else. Garlic bread wasn't very garlicky. Facilities were not very clean (by Swiss standards) but the overall restaurant was in good nick. Meal for 2 was 60CHF +

The only thing American about this place is diabetes. We only came here because there was now queue… should have known.

The pizza is nothing out of this world, but taking into account the price and the fact that it is in the heart of Zürich, I think you can't ask for much more. The service is acceptable, neither very friendly nor very unfriendly.

Had 2 burgers, one the Sams Burger and one with chicken. Both were cold, the side dishes also cold. And the bun on the burger was old/hard. From the quality and consistency, you would think it was warmed up in the microwave and products are frozen goods. Definitely didn't taste fresh. The salad that comes with it (see the picture) is a joke. The wedges soften and from the supermarket. And you pay over 20 CHF for a burger. The ambience is really great American. The young waitress was polite and quick. It's a shame if the food and drinks were good the store would be great. Unfortunately, the homemade iced tea tasted like it was bad. The Cola is not Coca Cola but cheap syrup..

With the exception of one lady, who I've witnessed shouting at her colleagues in front of customers, every other service staff do a very good job. Unlike some places, this is a foreigner-friendly restaurant. English menus are available. The food is average but still better than Hooters Switzerland. Special shout-out to Jeni who is always friendly and wears a smile on her face.

Open on Sundays, free wifi, jalapenos, close to the train station, and really good pizza. Our hostess, Jeni, was super nice and hospitable. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for some American style pizza.

I ordered Gurmet burger, the meat was stinky and had really bad taste… Overall really basic restaurant - don’t expect good cousine..

Like an American restaurant in the heart of Zurich. The price is pretty good and you can have a pretty decent meal for a low price, since everything in the city is so expensive. The American pizza was great, crunchy and in an appropriate size. In the photos we have chosen Salt Lake City and Montana. Recommended for its price and reception!

Visited this local pizzeria that was quite crowded, but it had a good ambiance and the staff were great. They offered a decent variety of pizza options. However, a major letdown was the cutlery. The knives provided were inadequate for cutting the pizza, which significantly marred the dining experience. While the atmosphere and service were commendable, the cutlery issue needs addressing.

A pizza restaurant in Zurich. It is somewhat acceptable. Only the pizza is delicious. Everything else is generous. It is okay, such as spaghetti with basil. I rate it 3/10.

We had to wait a long time until we got a table but it was worth it

We used to drive 63 km in one direction just to eat the delicious pizza here today. Now this strange, typical Swiss pizza dough that you can find in every snack bar has made it here too! Also, for some inexplicable reason, the pizza tasted like chlorine! We won't be coming back! This was our PizzaHut pan pizza replacement and just as good. Now you can get pizzeria pizza worth 10 CHF for twice the price!! 🤮 That's it, we're not coming anymore. PS why is there no cheese in the rim when you order it?

We had two American-style pizzas, standard size. They were delicious and so filling (a lot of cheese!) we brought several slices home. Jeni was our server. She was very nice and attentive and her English was perfect. Prices are good for Zurich. It's easy to find pizza here, but usually they are Italian (thin crust, charred edges).

I was a fan of Sam's Pizzas After years I'm there again the feeling of the frozen pizza base, the chicken strips which may have been turkey. It's a shame, a lot has changed, it was a disappointment.

Fun place! I was wondering why I wasn’t seeing raclette cheeseburgers on the menus around town and saw it on Sam’s specials! Of course I had to try it! My burger was a bit spiced, but still delicious! Also they served California wine 🥰 won my heart with raclette cheeseburger and California red wine 💕

We visited Sam's Pizza on our way back from Innsbruck to Paris. During our layover in Zurich, we decided to have a quick lunch. We specifically chose Sam's Pizza because we saw on their website and Google Maps that they offer deep dish pizza, which we really wanted to try. However, our experience at the restaurant was quite unpleasant and disrespectful. While the food was good, the staff, particularly one lady who served us, was extremely rude and showed racist behavior towards us. As people of color, she treated us poorly and took advantage of that. We ordered three vegetarian pizzas and a tomato soup, all of which we wanted to be deep dish. However, the server did not give us the deep dish pizzas. When we approached her shortly after placing our order to confirm that we wanted deep dish, she responded rudely, saying that the pizzas were already in the oven and it was not her responsibility as a server to inform customers about the menu options. We understood that the pizzas couldn't be changed once they were in the oven, but her dismissive attitude and continuous challenges made us feel belittled and doubted our ability to pay. This kind of customer service in a restaurant, especially in a city like Zurich, was appalling. It was disheartening to witness such behavior based on our skin color. The server could have been more polite in her response. We would have been willing to order additional items and pay extra, but the problem was her disrespectful attitude. It is important for the restaurant owner to understand that making everyone feel welcome and providing hospitable service is a fundamental part of being a server, especially when the restaurant is located so close to the train station and most of the customers are likely tired travelers in need of a welcoming experience. This incident not only left a bitter impression of Sam's Pizza but also of Zurich as a whole. The server in question requires significant training and a change in attitude. While the pizza was good, her attitude was distasteful. If we had more time or were residents of Zurich, we would have taken this matter further and raised it with a larger audience or even pursued legal action, as such treatment of individuals is unacceptable, particularly when we were following all codes of conduct. We are extremely disappointed. Although it is not necessary to mention the server's name, we are confident that the staff working at the restaurant yesterday afternoon knows exactly who we are referring to.

The woman Mary was very unmotivated and took the wrong order. When we complained, she didn't pay any attention and didn't apologize. We didn't like her service at all, she didn't pay attention while she was serving and distracted herself. impudence.

Great place for a quick and not sofisticated dinner. I had a Garlic bread to start and Burger to follow. I would give it 4 stars for the burger but the Avocado in it looked a bit brown, clearly an old one. Other than that it was ok. Would i come again? Probably if I was in the rush and need something quick. Pizza looked delicious though, instant regret for not ordering that instead of the burger.

We were German tourists at the State Museum and wanted to eat relatively inexpensively not far from the main train station. We succeeded here. We don't need large portions, here we were able to order half a (different) medium pizza each and even the rest (because we were in a hurry) was packed up for us. The pizzas were very well topped and very tasty. The service was very friendly and attentive.

The food didn't really taste good. The burger patties are frozen food, like in Mc'Donalds. The patties are also extremely tough. The ambience is great, but unfortunately the musty smell in the restaurant is quite pungent

It is near the main station. The food was ok, but noted a few things, the beverages came in a glass, normally the waiter should have brought the bottle / can as well, and its taste was not great. Also I think pizza margherita did not taste like it was freshly made. But in general the meal was not bad, e.g. kids enjoyed the chicken wings.

Very bad pizza very chewy cheese and no taste at all. The oil with chilies was also bad and Mary was not at all friendly. When we asked for Chiles with oil it came after the food was over.

Delicious food and great atmosphere

The food was enjoyable, and the prices were reasonable. However, there is room for improvement in the service department as it could be more considerate and efficient. Although the interior was clean and appealing, it was uncomfortably warm due to the lack of air conditioning. We opted to dine outside to escape the heat. Overall, it was a decent experience, and I might consider returning in the future, especially if they address the temperature issue and enhance the service.

The staff was unfriendly. Tomato mozzarella salad had more arugula than anything else. Burgers can be made better at home in 5 minutes, I didn't like it at all. They only have so many customers because of the location.

The restaurant was half full. We waited 15 minutes for two cokes, then another 10 minutes for two pizzas. The pizzas had the taste of a Dr. Oetker frozen pizza. The three different waitresses didn't bring any salt/pepper, even though I asked for it. Yes now. Then we had the pizzas put in a box to take away. But even then we were forgotten. The box had long been on the counter ready to be picked up. We didn't feel welcome or taken seriously.

Nice pizza restaurant. Pizza taste like pizza hut style and atmosphere reminds you of an american family restaurant. The service was ok, and we got let down by waiting for 15 mins more until someone came to take our order (for drinks) and it was because i insisted. The response was, "we are pretty busy right now" and no sorry. Could have been better answers tbh. They need to teach their waiter better.

It's been a long time since I've been to Sam's Pizza Land and not much has changed (but that's not a bad thing). The service was friendly. The menu is large and the selection is great. We had a pretty spicy pizza and a New York. These came very quickly and you fill up well with a normal pizza. The mozzarella sticks were also good. The price is fair so there is nothing to complain about here.

Most American restaurant I've seen since the start of my vacation. The Georgia Pizza was well seasoned and topped. It's not the best pizza ever, but it really satisfied my craving for an American style pizza

Menu1 Farmer Burger (Price20.80chf) Farmer Burger was a bit dry and had a lot of hot sauce, potatoes were also dry but good to eat with sauce, salad was lean (a bit of carrots, lettuce leaves, corn with a little salad dressing) Menu2 Chicken Wings (price 9.90chf) Chicken wings were standard but a bit too spicy. Potatoes (price 8.50chf) Potatoes were dry. Drink Homemade ice tea 5dl (price 6chf) The homemade ice cream was very good and refreshing, I would recommend it to everyone. We liked that there were extra bottles of mayonnaise and ketchup so you could use as much sauce as you wanted. Hot BBQ was very good.

We came for lunch at a lot 1pm, there wasn't a big crowd in the restaurant however as there is only 2 visible staff to serve the entire restaurant, service is extremely slow. It took a while for them to pass us the menu, after it took a while to get their attention to take our orders. We ordered hawai pizza, Bolognese pasta and onion ring. The pizza and pasta were good, portions were huge. However the onion rings was quite soggy and not crispy. The inside of the restaurant is very stuffy, recommend to sit outdoors.
