A shop, which has quite a history in Lausanne, taken over a few years ago, it is always a real pleasure to find very good coffee and tea. I highly recommend this address.

After several disappointments, I found this store to purchase my coffee. I highly recommend, Rialto coffee my favorite which allowed me to survive confinement :-) And I'm not talking about the charm of the store which adds a touch of magic. Nice shop for tea, but it seems a victim of its success and the service has deteriorated for some time... last year I bought an advent calendar for wooden teas. This model was a little more expensive, but the saleswoman convinced me by telling me that the following year I could bring it back to the store and we would be able to reuse it. So, this year I called to ask if it was possible to come to the store so that we could fill out my calendar and the saleswoman informed me that they are not making an Advent calendar this year, but she told me said the boss would call me back to discuss it. I never received a call back and I tried to contact them 3 times after…

For those who drink filter coffee, I would advise grinding a notch coarser than usual and pouring the water relatively quickly to counterbalance the rather strong bitterness of the Arabicas I have tasted from this store (Brazil, Guatemala, arabica blend). For the rest, the coffee offering in this store is varied and interesting.

A loyal customer for almost 30 years, I still appreciate the quality of the products sold as well as the warm and friendly welcome. The salespeople really know how to advise you and know what they are selling, which is rather rare and particularly appreciable. For such an old store with its share of regulars, it should be noted that the new owner has managed to add a touch of new products, chosen with taste and passion, which wonderfully complement and enhance the vast assortment available. In short, a store to discover.

Although the shop is pretty and staffs are friendly, unfortunately the green tea I bought (Lung Ching) had already lost all flavor and was tastelesss. Other tea / coffee might be better though.

The right place for tea and coffee. I was looking for a place to recommend a decaffeinated coffee. Not easy. I remembered this historic and renowned store in Lausanne. Friendly welcome, warm and distinctive shop. I tasted a variety and was able to choose and take away the coffee that suited me. Well done. Welcome, service, professionalism. And totally reasonable prices. I recommend.

Best tea and coffee shop in Lausanne

Amazing collection of tea and coffee! And they're very nice to walk you through it and let you smell each and every single one. Besides, they know well their tea and can make very good suggestions for you to try. Prices are decent: most are around 8 CHF /100g, but some very rare ones can go as high as 37 CHF /100g (some exclusive Japanese tea). I suggest you also get some air tight containers for your tea because the flavoured ones can perfume your room haha.

I have known this store for almost forty years... An extraordinary choice of teas... wonderful coffees and delicious spices not found anywhere else... The salespeople are knowledgeable and passionate. Thank you and well done... I wish you many more 40 years of success!!

I initially didn't find this store by searching on Google maps and found it quite by chance. It turns out that it is one of the oldest stores in Lausanne since it was opened in the 1930s. The choice of tea is remarkable and the sellers know what they are talking about, which is becoming increasingly rare. The welcome is warm and smiling, always a pleasure.

Customer for years but since the new owner this place has become wonderful. Magnificent people continually taking care to please us and satisfy us. Craft products, rare, exceptional or even unique. The coffee is made on site and the owner even shows you the “roaster” behind it. And his personal chocolate with monks' tea "ephemera" is incredible and yet I only swear by Durig... Thanks to the entire Pimenthé team.

The name has changed, it is now Pimenthé specializing in teas and spices and also a good choice of coffees.

This is one of the rare place in Lausanne where you can buy a large choice of high quality teas and coffees. The owners have a good knowledge about their product and give you good advices about the tea closes to your tastes. The have a large choice of fruit infusions and flavoured Green tea. As a regular tea client, I highly recommend the teas " Cocktail Hawaï " and "Mango Flip". :P

I have been buying my coffee for several years in this pretty shop in Lausanne. I have always had a very warm welcome there and the coffee roasted on site and the tea are excellent! A store like almost no other in Lausanne and definitely worth discovering!

I had an unlucky experience here: I got a rock in a bag of coffee beans, which then broke my grinder. This can happen to any roaster and so I would NOT base this review on this experience. On the other hand, when I showed up to see if the store would be available to contribute to the costs of repairing my mill, the true character of the owners showed itself. The owners were very rude and, even accepting that the stone came with their grain, offered NO compensation. After several visits and almost violent discussions, where I was yelled at and treated without respect or dignity, they agreed to pay me with 2 kg of coffee. Let's accept a reasonable margin, which means that they participate with 20 francs after having broken a mill at 550. And this even while making a face as if I ripped them off. Customer service, and especially after sales, will direct me to these competitors for all my purchases in the future, and I would advise any reader of this review to do the same. (If you are ever looking for a professional, friendly person who takes care of these customers, and with divine coffee, I suggest Pappy John in Chailly or Renens. I am convinced that the owner would know how to manage this situation a thousand times better too.).
