Schäferstube in Saas-Fee

Very nice mountain hut that really does justice to its charm. Today we visited the Schäfeestube again for a long time after we were thrilled the last time we visited. I can say the enthusiasm continues. Great service from the boss herself. Extremely warm and charming. The food is varied, fresh and simply great. The wine was a Heida from Diroso, a recommendation from the boss, a little dream. We are thrilled and would love to come back. Hello Jean-Claude and family

We went to this place for lunch and it was an absolutely amazing experience. Great wine, amazing view, very nice service, and delicious food.

How can you serve a Viennese schnitzel like this when you have a Gault et Millau plaque on the entrance wall? Honestly, I have something to worry about!

Taste was very good, unfortunately the portion of the schnitzel with fries was far too large and poorly presented. The schnitzel was covered by fries. Proud prices.

Great local atmosphere in a historic house. The menu is focused, which for me means everything is done fresh, on-site in the kitchen there and you could taste this freshness and passion for cooking in the dishes. Very friendly and fast service. A great experience and you should not leave the village without having eaten here at least once. We loved it!

Was awesome during Covid when it operated as more of a takeout place. Now it’s sit down and a queue of at least 60 minutes to sit. Not worth that

An amazing experience in Saas Fee…

Very well received, very tasty dish, quite generous for the quality, very well presented.

Five points are for appetizers, fresh and thick sashimi, sweet and sour appetizer, as well as kelp, seaweed and sesame seeds, a very Japanese-style appetizer, highly recommended! I ordered the Christmas menu. The steak was not very fresh, but the degree of rareness between medium and roh was well controlled. The transition between sweet and sour in the dessert was a bit too strong. But the overall value for money is very high. The restaurant is on a mountain. It takes ten minutes to walk, including five minutes to climb the mountain. It is not that convenient, and there is basically no view at night. The view during the day should be very good. Going down the mountain with ice in the winter is still dangerous, especially if your legs are sore after a day of skiing. At least -0.5 points will be deducted for going down the mountain.

A fantastic restaurant! We were delighted to have our Christmas dinner here. The food was delicious and satisfying. The atmosphere and service were excellent. We'll definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

What a lovely authentic Valais restaurant. With such a great and friendly host couple that I have rarely seen. If you want to spend a nice moment in a fantastic environment, you have to go here.

Best diner ever - would definitely recommend to anyone! The food was all amazing, and the people were so lovely. We had such a nice evening - I couldn’t have asked for more. I had the summer salad, veal, and strudel - it was awesome. My friends had pumpkin soup, beef, Gnocchi, and fish - all really amazing! Definitely would go back

A restaurant with an intimate setting in a very well decorated chalet. The staff are very helpful and the food is excellent. I highly recommend.

Excellent Food & atmosphere. The most delicate restaurant in Saas-Fee combining top ingredients with locally inspired products like flowers and handpicked herbs from the mountain. The view from the terrace is impeccable: 180°sunny glaciers and 4000-er peaks extend straight from the terrace. A cozy but stylish interior reflect the drive from charming Simone to create the best scene for Chef Daniel’s cuisine.

Beautifully located place, nice service

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were served very quickly. The atmosphere is of a typical Swiss chalet. I had the sausage with the rösti and it was delicious. My friend had the macaroni which was the dish of the day, which was also very good and plentiful. We were able to take the leftovers home. I recommend!

We were in the Schäferstubä Saas-Fee on March 5th, 2023, incredible hospitality and great food. Very comfortable inside and out, we are already looking forward to next time

Absolutely love this place, the terrace is beautiful and gets the best of the sun! The beef tartare is to die for and the other starters that we tried were also great, the cordon bleu (delicious but not filling, after three-course evening meal we were still a little hungry) however was a bit of a letdown as it is very small compared to the other main (lunch) dishes. I found the starters were however a great deal for the price and the building itself is absolutely stunning. Would recommend coming here 100% and having the apero board and tartare!

Beautiful, intimate and warm place. Friendly and attentive service. The tempting three-course menu does not disappoint in terms of quality and presentation… but the portions are definitely too small for the starter and main course. In the end it’s expensive considering the portions.

Very very good food. Small menu but super tasty and fresh. The service is very friendly and on point. Cool gimmicks before, during and after eating. Nice ambience. Simply great. We recommend! Update January 14, 2023 I've eaten there 5 times now and am always impressed by the offerings and the friendly staff. You immediately feel comfortable. The attention to detail always surprises me. I can only recommend a visit to everyone!

I have never been treated so nicely or had such fine food in Switzerland. The chef's Austrian style is a dream, the dishes are very creative and incredibly tasty. All of my meals were highly recommended. The hut is very rustic from the outside and also inside. Definitely go - reservation required in the evening!

Excellent welcome, exceptional setting, very good cuisine

Sorry, but from November to February only on the terrace, as dogs aren't allowed in. It's simply not possible. Our dogs always lie absolutely still under the table. If you don't like me inside, I won't go to you outside. It's a shame it used to be really great.

The building looks great, both from the outside and the inside - really in the style of a mountain hut. Really romantic. And the staff (including the boss) is also super friendly and attentive. It was a little less pleasant to eat upstairs as it was quite cold there. The quality of the food was good, although unfortunately it wasn't that hot (maybe it was due to the room climate). And the portion of the main course was very small - you had to look for the filling side dish (mashed potatoes) among the few pieces of vegetables. The prices, on the other hand, were quite high - we paid almost 300 Fr for soup, a main course for three people and a bottle of wine. Overall, the price/performance wasn't quite right for me.

Super delicious food and the nicest waitress we have ever met, unfortunately we don't know their names. Made in Germany and the other lady is doing a very good job 😊 Greetings to the guys from Magdeburg.

We went for dinner and the whole thing was great! Simone explained some of the history of the building when we arrived and she and the other waitress were super friendly. On top of that the food was very tasty - great balance of flavours and textures. Highly recommended. Edit: We went back for lunch 2 days later. The food was still good, but there is also a small lunch menu that is a little more casual. The staff remembered us and our plans for the weekend and inquired how it all went, what a nice feeling.

We have already had a delicious meal at Simone and Daniel's 3 times, both summer and winter, including friendly and personal service, not to mention the cozy atmosphere, so we will definitely come back 😊

Unfortunately, the visit was a big disappointment for us. The staff is very friendly, but you should explain more precisely that less than half of what is on the menu on the internet is only available at lunchtime and in the evening only the far too expensive menu is offered 0 Flexibility if you want something that isn't on the small evening menu, it means it's not possible because people from our group didn't find it on the small menu and we've adjusted to the selection of what's offered on the internet, we have to pay for the drinks and Going again, never experienced anything like that, I can only recommend that we communicate better so that unnecessary visits were unnecessary for us or we never went to this restaurant.

The best restaurant I ate in in Switzerland. The cuisine is delicate and refined; it is sought after with local products. The staff are adorable and attentive. As for the setting, intimate, romantic, charming. Everything was perfect ! If you are looking for a good restaurant that is a little different from the traditional fondue, go for it. You will not be disappointed ! Thank you to the whole team for this wonderful moment. We will definitely come back.

We had dinner together on Sunday and were overwhelmed by the hospitality of the landlady Simone. The vermouth served and the food, we had lamb shank and veal, were to die for!
