We had a wonderful experience in Essstube. Not all restaurants were open in Saas Fee , we tried few, and this one was by far the best. Great service and delicious food. Thank you, chef, for advising us to take beef filet. That was the best beef we’ve ever had! Good luck!

A very cozy place, with friendly staff. A delicious house gin. And a card to make a choice while crying, because everything looks so great and seems delicious. But the portions are large here, so 1 dish is enough. My husband went for the spiced lamb and I looked at delicious stir-fry food. Enjoyed it immensely! We didn't even have room for dessert anymore.

Definitely not a run-of-the-mill gastronomy concept here but something different. The furnishing of the restaurant and the presentation of the dishes show creativity. The food tasted very good and the service was quick but never intrusive. Reservation highly recommended.

Initial situation: We have eaten in the dining room several times, every time from A to Z perfect. Now, under normal circumstances, this experience would actually have deserved a star. We have reserved this Saturday for 14 people. When we arrived for the second shift (8:15 p.m.), the extremely charming (note the irony) receptionist told us that there was no table for 14 people. The way we were greeted was truly unbelievable. Just hearing "No, that can't be right" and "we don't accept tables for more than 10 people" made my blood boil. Well, when we asked the boss to please come, the mishap turned out that someone had missed the 1 and a table was reserved for 4 instead of 14 people. 8:15 p.m., Saturday, finding somewhere to eat turns out to be extremely difficult. Well, as I said, the welcome, the fact that we didn't have a seat, actually deserved a star. Now the BUT. The boss and the boss tried to make amends for their faux pas and, above all, how they tried to do it. Since you were aware that we wouldn't be able to find any more space, you recommended ordering pizzas, at your own expense, of course. We did this too. The bill (CHF 375.00) was covered by the owners of the dining room, as well as 2 bottles of red wine and 25 CHF for the taxi back to the hotel. This is what hospitality looks like. We will try again next year and hope for a better ending.

Nice and homely restaurant with courteous staff. The portions were fine and generous. What really bothered me personally was that the beef, or the poultry is imported from Australia and Thailand. This also turned me off the beef tenderloin.

Outstanding, friendly service and above all generous cuisine. To conclude, the chef came to greet us and see if everything went well. We had a wonderful time!! Surf & Turf should not be missed under any circumstances.

I announced 2 days in advance of my visit that I would like to eat gluten-free. The entrée and tomato soup were very tasty. The gluten-free pasta dish with strips of beef fillet was also very good and nicely al denté. The ice cream at the end and the espresso also brightened the evening. If you are in Saas Fee, be sure to stop by this restaurant. There are tables inside and tables outside with beautiful views of the mountains. The restaurant's interior is charming and modern, making it very cozy. The food is beyond praise, and its presentation is original and delicious. It looks like artists work in this restaurant - it's so beautiful, modern and original. My husband's steak melted in his mouth. The onion-mustard crust gave the meat piquancy and sophistication. My salmon tartare, ingeniously served in a tin, was tender and the wasabi ice cream brought out the flavor deliciously. And we can’t help but mention the black ice cream with black cream and blueberries, served in a black plate - it’s not only delicious, but also very beautiful!

Outstanding food and service. You need to make reservations but only a day or two in advance it seems. You can email which is convenient. Special highlights were the steak with mustard crust, the house salad with a really fun presentation, and the mushroom ragout.

A big compliment to the dining room team. From the ambience both outside and inside with great attention to detail, the very friendly and experienced staff, from the "little attention of the house" to the delicious food, which was extremely lovingly arranged. Special praise goes to the chef. We will be back!! Finally vacation in Saas-Fee again after 2 years. And of course a few visits to the dining room with Anett and Martin and the super nice, warm team. Of course you can eat up and down the menu and always find superlatives. But if you like escargots... definitely try these unforgettable appetizers. .

We really loved this restaurant (when going again, I might not opt for the sesame salmon though, as I didn't like the texture and expected it to be more of a crust - personal preference), however, what my partner had was delicious and the wine was lovely. We will be back! Edit: we did come back and I took something different to the salmon and it was lovely! We loved the texture of the wasabi ice cream :D

Excellent restaurant. The place is cozy and warm, very pleasant. More than adequate value for money between the place which is refined and the quality of the dishes which are well above average for the price. Nice choice of whiskey, which is off the beaten track, the establishment has a preference for the island of Islay :-). I would return to this place, recommended with my eyes closed.

Went with my boyfriend who is gluten free. They were extremely accommodating, serving their own gluten free, delicious, home made bread. Every dish we ordered was beyond delicious. Pricing is very fair for Switzerland pricing, quality of food, presentation of food and service.

What an amazing find! By fluke. We booked Hotel Marmotte and were looking for a restaurant and booked Essstube not realising it was in the hotel. Very happy. Food was delicious. Staff and owners were fab. Other guests were fun!

Very modern cool vibe, restaurant decor very unique and elegant. Food was very good, the linguine with schrimp and dressed with lemon oil was tasty, if you like a strong lemon pepper taste. The cordon blue was very tasty with a side of Pommes. Apple donuts with vanilla sauce were delicious!!

Excellent meet, service and spritz. I enjoyed twice “the gentleman cut”, first medium-rear, then rear: delicious! So soft, juicy, tasty. Finishing with grappa di amarone was the cherry on the cake. Martin, Annette and their Staff took care of me and my colleagues, great hospitality and quality.
