The DJ manages to completely empty the place from 5 p.m.... we were the last guests at 5:45 p.m....

Perfect ski stop. Came here several times. Takes about 1h skiing here from Ischgl. Kind and quick service. Sun on terrace starting from 11h in the morning.

10 o'clock in the morning, it's raining! Restaurant empty but we were at the 'wrong' table so we didn't get apple strudel. Bad unfriendly service! Only if we sat outside...

Beautiful place, after a beautiful route.

The grilled Pfandl was extremely tasty and well prepared. The service was great too! Of course the prices are high, but the food was worth it!

We gave up eating here. No service, we called them several times. Then I tried to order at the bar - here we were also ignored. I know there is good food here (been here before) But the waiters didn't care about the guests. We were not the only ones who left the place due to no service.

Nice atmosphere and great, attentive staff. The food is good average, but nothing more. It should be emphasized that there are duty free shops directly in the basement, so that you can stop almost directly from the slopes.

Very nice restaurant right next to the slopes. We recommend the smuggler’s coffee 👍 The only thing we noticed. Twice there and both times the tables weren't cleaned. Service otherwise top

Very nice hut. Food was super delicious. Ambiance fits perfectly. Anyone making the valley descent to Samnaun should stop by. There is also a duty-free shop.

Very idyllic, romantic✨️💫 mountain restaurant in Samnaun with a total "mountain hut feeling", excellent food, very good price/performance ratio, very good quality meat dishes with side dishes, very good Kaiserschmarren!! Great après-ski party outside in the winter garden every evening!!🥂😉

Great theme restaurant, great decor, rustic, lots of wood, open fireplace, rustic & cozy. Food good, something for everyone, pizza very good. Very friendly & courteous service, The only negative point: We were in the gallery at the DJ booth, it was very, very warm up there, it was uncomfortable with our warm clothes in February. Therefore; T-shirt or light clothing is sufficient.

Good bar to stop in after a busy day. DJ also goes wild every day. However, on a nice high season day there is quickly no more room outside.

Great apresski hut with an impressive backdrop. When eating (we were there twice for dinner) the kitchen team has to be careful not to crash. Waiting times of over 1 hour and then cold food is simply not acceptable. The mushroom tagliatelle is soggy, bland/without cream and bland. The Wienerschnitzel was tough. A trained chef knows that high-quality veal must be fried to perfection, otherwise it's just leather. The wine selection by the glass/by the glass was very modest. Service is neat and always friendly. We saw it...

The music in Apré-ski is at a pleasant volume so that you can still talk to each other.

There for the umpteenth time...with full anticipation...but unfortunately it's no longer what it once was. Aprés ski very humane... if you are a little louder as a group, the house immediately complains. I hope everything develops in the right direction again.

Restaurant and bar great! However, the DJ in the bar isn't great... There was some chatter in between every song, so you couldn't even hear half of the song.

We visited the Schmuggler Alm at the beginning of January. Without a reservation and with little hope of finding a free table, we were able to enjoy the great, atmospheric and homely atmosphere. The decor is exceptionally beautiful, there is something to see from every angle. After we were seated at our table by the staff, our waiter (I think his name was Mats) greeted us. The food arrived after about an hour, and in the meantime a free aperitif was brought to us. The food was super tasty and beautifully prepared. The prices are rather high but completely justified in the high season in a ski area. A visit to the Schmuggler Alm is a MUST, whether for après-ski or for dinner. Come back anytime!

Would have liked to eat there. I ordered the suttle service offered by the restaurant at 1700 for 1830 / reservation at 1900. After calling three times I was told that the driver would be with us at 1910. -> I canceled everything.

Delicious and really great in combination with the long descent. Unfortunately, many others also get the idea and finding a place can be difficult

Horrible and arrogant service and very unfriendly staff. We ordered something and sit outside. We’ve got a friend who has diabetes and injected the insulin that needs to eat. One old lady came out and shouted at us to tell our friend he can’t eat here. Later a guy came out to tell us that our friend could order from them. But they can’t serve anything within 5 mins. It’s soooooo bad that they don’t consider special needs from people. Avoid it as much as you can. Worst service I’ve seen in a while. One star is an implement for this place.

Service is bad and the staff here only cares about money. I had diabetes and after take my medicine, I’m not allowed to take my own food.

The staffs were extremely unfriendly and aggressive against people with medical conditions. We bought a drink at the bar but one friend from our group has diabetes and must consume specific foods he brought on his own. The employees here insisted that he must leave because no outside food is allowed. We explained the situation that he already injected insulin and must eat right away, but they became rude and said that the only way he could stay here is to order food at the restaurant. Patients with diabetes have their own disciplines when it comes to what they can and cannot eat, but they just don’t understand. Very disappointed!

I have never seen this before, very disappointed. We are not treated as customers. Our friend who has medical condition who needs some immediate food was asked to leave our table. Please do consider some special situations when apply your rules to the customers.

The food in the restaurant was not only very tasty but also of high quality. The service was excellent and the staff was attentive and friendly. The location is ideal and gives the restaurant a special atmosphere. The ambience completes the overall experience and I can highly recommend a visit.

I celebrated my 70th birthday here, somewhat by chance. A little belatedly, I would like to thank the staff at the Schmuggler Alm for the great service. In particular, a very big thank you goes to Christian for his very nice support. An extra decoration, great fondue, exceptionally nice and funny support from Christian and other staff at the Schmuggler Alm. We were very happy and still think about that evening often.

Locally over-equipped like Disneyland. Food isn't great. As usual in Samnaun: quite expensive.

I don't know of a more beautiful place, absolutely cozy and rustic.

EVERYTHING was perfect. Food, service, ambience. Whether for dinner or coffee and cake (we were there several times), always a hit!

The service staff tries to sell you the biggest drink (ordered 2x small Cola - got 2x large Cola) price for 1x small Cola 4.50 CHF. At the next table they tried to sell the cheaper pizza without chanterelles... Thank you - never again! 2 stars instead of 1 star because we only paid for small cokes and the big ones were left behind.

A rainy day is a great opportunity to turn on your imagination. Try to come up with an exciting story together. Mine is today in Samnaun, Switzerland with a mug of hot chocolate ☕️

It was nice there, cozy atmosphere, we were there for ice cream.

Beautiful modern restaurant with a wonderful view of the mountains. The service was nice and on point. The food on offer was of high quality and came to the table very quickly. The price segment is rather high but probably normal for Switzerland. We sat in a beautiful pub garden that was harmoniously furnished and about a third full.

Great staff. Were very helpful. Thanks again for supporting my way home. (I was there by bike) The atmosphere is just as beautiful in summer as in winter. A must for every Ischgl or Samnaun visitor.

Beautiful place at the end of the return track. Too bad about the food which could be much better. The staff doesn't even know what friendliness is, they're really cold and detached, at least a smile wouldn't hurt. High prices but that's how it is in Switzerland, unfortunately!!

10 years ago I gave it 5 stars. This year only their 2nd. Long waiting times. DJ talks too much. Were there in a group. Wanted to order 2 pizzas. Answer: pizzas are not served here. A tile was previously eaten at the same table. I don't have to and don't want to understand the latter.

Price/performance doesn't match at all!!! Completely overpriced and the accommodation of customer requests remains open or is charged with an extra charge, as an example: instead of fries I wanted a salad with the schnitzel and then I had to pay an extra €3 for that... for salad from the buffet. Furthermore, drinking alcohol there is cheaper than non-alcoholic drinks, because the price difference between 0.5 liters of beer and a juice spritzer is only €0.10 Beer heard.

Friendly staff. Good choice. Prices okay. Food delicious. Big portion. Little light in the room. Chairs and tables are quite impractical, making them uncomfortable for tall people to sit on. Passageways narrow and winding. Still happy to go back because the food and staff are good.

The food we received was far too expensive for the industrial goods. Had three different dishes for lunch and none of them felt any love from the kitchen. The schnitzel and cordon bleu gave us the feeling of being in a deep freezer. Our recommendation is a beer or a glass of wine because of the beautiful location.

Just beside the slope. Friendly staff and great kitchen. Pizza's are great! But they have all sorts of stuff to still your ski hunger.

DJ is an imposition, he should talk less and sing too, he can't do that. Just music would be OK.

Food was very good. Good for Switzerland but it is a bit more expensive than on the Austrian side.

Terrible arogant service, after 20 minutes of waiting we tried to get attention of waitress, she arogantly waved at us with laughter and left. Service at the level of Albanian seaside. Not to mention the waitress was intentionaly serving people that arrived 15 minutes after us and had fun out of the whole awkward situation.

Dont go there, horrible service, waiting 30minutes for the waiter, when i asked if we can order after half an hour of waiting she started being arrogant, so we immidiately left

Very cozy atmosphere. Plenty of space to sit both inside and outside. I can recommend the Tiroler Gröstl. Ideal for something to eat and drink after ski descent 80.

The Schmuggler Alm is a very nice mountain restaurant. You can reach the Alm via the beautiful panoramic piste 80 (also suitable for beginners). The selection of food was very large and the quality was very good. The service was also excellent and very nice. The charm of the old house fits and is perfect for a cozy lunch break. The price-performance ratio is also right. In the basement there is the opportunity to buy various products, spirits and food tax-free in the duty free shop.

The food is delicious, but it takes time... And the knives for the pizza are useless, they don't really cut. Staff friendly.

Horrible service like you've never experienced during a ski day. After a line of 7-8 had formed to order a drink at the bar and waiting for 15mins and hearing "I'm busy now, wait" finally brought the wrong order. When someone commented "you're not very friendly", she responded "Yes, I know thank you" It's a pity as the restaurant has character for a change.

The worst pizza in a long time: tough, dry, oversalted and only bacon instead of Bündnerfleisch - 25 SFR! The Jagatee was inedible, sweet porridge with a straw rum taste, the mulled wine wasn't even lukewarm. Recommendation: Have a beer and leave quickly.

Not just an alpine pasture or a restaurant! This is a piece of attitude to life, a piece of quality of life here. The furnishings are very cozy and elegant, the dishes on offer fit the region and the drinks menu fulfills all wishes. Of course, the price is a bit higher, but good and special things can sometimes cost a franc more.

Downright disrespectful and greedy behaviour from a manager towards a client. The entire week our family was visiting the place leaving a 100+ euro check every single time. Throughout this week the waiter was bringing us Leitungswasser (a water from tap) with our order. One day the waiter outright refused to bring us tap water (in addition to all of the things that we already ordered) saying this is a manager's instructions. All things condering we have made our usual order. After talking to the manager she told me that waiters providing us with (free) tap water was a mistake, so I should consider it a gift and pay 9-10 euros (for a bottle of water!!!), while acting really hostile. They completely refused to bring any sort of water or elaborate on a sudden change. An absolutely greedy and disrespectful behaviour. Do not recommend this place, despite an amazing pizza.

Best Kaiserschmarren in the area

I had the chance to come to this restaurant several times during my various stays in Ischgl. The quality of the dishes is always there, the decor and the service are also very pleasant.

Great ambience and top service, food is ok.

Quite busy around lunch time but the service is very good once you find a free table.

Good food but only at dedicated times (12 to 2pm and after 6pm, I think), and almost no service outside even though there's a number of staff around - easier to order at the bar (though still a challenge). Popular as it's a convenient resting stop, so finding spot might be an issue.

Sat there for an half an hour and waited for service. Left without getting anything. Would definitely NOT recommend this plays

Inadequate. Waited 1 hour, then the cellar comes and wants to take the order again because something went wrong. Not recommendable.

Fun place for apres ski in Samnaun. Music and dj makes a good atmosphere. Did not eat there. Was let down by one stroppy waitress who brought us a drink we did not order and argued with us when we didn't take it. Hopefully they will get rid of her soon. All other staff super friendly.

A luxurious affair, great staff, famous food and their beer for the perfect enjoyment. The shop under the restaurant is also open in the evening, so you can still shop after a great evening.

For me it's part of a holiday in Ischgl! The tour over Samnaun and the visit to the Smuggler Alm! Always my pleasure!

Restaurant is great and actually deserves 5 stars, Apres Ski... well, chic crowd that doesn't ski but sips champagne, DJ tries to create a mood that doesn't arise, staff totally overloaded, eternal wait for drinks. The poor waiter in shorts and a traditional shirt shivered so much in the sub-zero temperatures that he spilled more than he served. Tip to the boss... you could make 3x more sales with a little more waitresses!

Incredible experience! Apart from the fact that the restaurant is beautiful and super rustic, the service was super friendly and the food was excellent in quantity and very affordable. In the end we ordered a dessert which I thought would come little, almost a full plate came hahah I loved the experience

Difficult to get service, even when half empty... Tried to get in touch twice at the bar to order something, spoken to twice outside, after 15 minutes we left again...

Actively not serving you, even if they bring stuff to the same table (other people) not even asking, looks like they don't have the need to be good and just use their location privilege to make money. Sad, we left after 10-15min, even checking the bar, not wanted to serve. There was not much going on at all.

Aperol Spritz without Aperol and without Prosecco. Not recommended.

There were 14 of us and we were spread across 3 tables and other people who were larger could sit at 1 table. The restaurant was empty and had enough space. I work at work and that's not possible. The service was also not well organized. The 1 table had everything earlier and the other could wait.

What an atmosphere. Splendid! Inside and outside. On the one hand après-ski bar, on the other hand a restaurant. In between, the business will be closed for an hour. The food is highly recommended and the staff is courteous. You feel comfortable here and definitely want to come back. The children's pizza comes in a cute bunny design. Tip: It's better not to travel by car... there are almost no parking spaces available.

I think I was a guest here in my childhood and ate the best spaetzle of my life here! That must have been a good 20 years ago now. The food was so good that I remember it to this day! Based on the rustic interior, which I also remember, this would have to be the restaurant. I would love to return at some point. Warm greetings to Switzerland from Hamburg! <3
