Schneider's in Davos

Very nice restaurant with a good selection of inexpensive food! We go to Schneider's at least once every time we stay in Davos. My recommendation: mixed salad with fresh fruits😍

We always enjoyed going to Schneider because of the delicious barley soup and the cozy sun terrace. Unfortunately, the sun terrace no longer exists. You could eat the barley soup, but it was nowhere near the same as in previous years. Unfortunately the service was simply bad.

The brunch we had at Schneiders was excellent. However, the service was very unsatisfactory; as a party of five, we were delivered our orders over the course of thirty minutes, and we were surprised by the length of the wait when our dedicated waitress wrote down any additional requests. The same thing occurred when we tried to pay; it seemed like she had too much work on her plate. But the other employees were quick and willing to joke around.

Very good restaurant with friendly and attentive service. The food was very tasty and the ingredients were fresh! Although the restaurant was quite busy, we felt comfortable and we were able to converse at a normal volume. The restaurant is really recommended!

It was maybe an unlucky day, but we waited for quite some time to get our lunch, and the food was the worst we had in Davos in three days (chicken nuggets that my son barely touched) and pasta with salmon (very buttery but with almost no taste). The lady serving us tried to look nice but despite this we didn’t feel welcome. Pastry looked great but the long waiting unfortunately didn’t leave time for dessert.

Services is good, but could be better.

Beautiful place to have coffee or dinner. The service staff wasn't at all happy that we just wanted to have a quick coffee in the late afternoon, even though half of the tables were empty and we didn't stay long. But the hot chocolate was incredibly delicious!

As always, Schneider's is first class, the restaurant manager is always trying hard and his staff is top notch. The food is great and the prices are normal. In addition to dinner, brunch is always great

By chance we found space for 8 people. Were hit by a bad storm (the air conditioning system turned on its own) Afterwards we were served with a warm smile, perhaps because the staff who served us had quit. After a long wait, the food finally came. In case of doubt, a tomato soup was a tomato sauce which was missing from the pasta... We showed our nerves and finished eating.

The food was delicious, the service was very attentive and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The menu should be a little more varied so that I can select alternative dishes (vegetarian) two weeks later.

The quality of the dishes or desserts is excellent. We only go there a little, due to budget, but we like to go there once or twice a year. We highly recommend the copious but delicious “ice-coffee with (or without) kirsch” after a good walk in this magnificent region, for example. Enjoy your food

Great bistro cafe in the middle of Davos

Nicely decorated restaurant, friendly service! Very good cuisine with restaurants and typical Swiss dishes. The cheeseburger was great. The minced meatballs and mashed potatoes were very fine and well seasoned. The salads were beautifully presented and there was also a very nice salad dressing. There were home-made chocolates with the coffee.

Lovely restaurant with beautiful food with a nice choice of local wines and soft drinks, service was great but a little on the slow side given how quiet the evening of our visit was. The restaurant itself was nicely laid out and clean and the menu had a wide variety of dishes to suit all pallets. Would recommend and would return.

Found this restaurant on the second night of our holiday. Fabulous desserts! Went again for great cup of English Breakfast tea one evening (which appears to be in short supply in Davos.) Went for a third time for a very good pizza. Friendly service. Lovely seating area. Highly recommended.

We think it's a shame how downhill this restaurant is going

Schneider's has lost the unique charm of the past, but is still still worth a visit today. It has a wonderful sun terrace. In my experience, the taste and quality of the dishes are at a high level. The toilets are clean. A large selection of newspapers and magazines is available.

Excellent cuisine! We each took starter, main course, beer and carafe of water (6.-), total: 115.-...! A little expensive ! And it’s a shame that you have to pay for the carafe of water...! Otherwise, top notch service and welcome

We came across this restaurant by chance. After the first dinner we went back twice more, the food was so good and the service was so quick and friendly.

Thank you for the good food. Unfortunately the staff was overworked that day, so milk and sweetener for the tea were forgotten and we had to wait a long time for the food and the bill. We’ll still be back 😀

Very friendly and attentive staff that fulfills all wishes 👍. The food (cheeseburger with fries and minced meat with mashed potatoes) was incredibly good. The desserts (apple strudel and chocolate cake) also rounded off the lovely evening perfectly. Price-performance absolutely reasonable. Gladly again

Our new local restaurant in Davos. The staff is extremely friendly and personable. The food is all excellent and absolutely worth the price. Quality is extremely good and we always felt comfortable. We absolutely cannot understand the negative criticism, everything is perfect here and the restaurant is a hit!

too expensive & bad service. My frappe was lukewarm instead of cold. The service employees would rather talk to each other than serve the guests. We've been wanting to pay for a long time, but no one just ever showed up. When we went forward to finally pay, the ladies were obviously busy having private conversations with each other. It's better to go to a self-service restaurant if you have to get up to pay yourself - it's also considerably cheaper there! What do you pay so much for? perhaps for the “great” service?

Very nice, well-kept restaurant. When the weather is nice and dry you can sit outside on the large terrace. Coffee and cake are always good. They also offer small snacks.

Ideal atmosphere.......a mixture of traditional and modern restaurant, serving eccellent food all-day long (from morning till night......from breakfast, brunch till dinner). Reasonable prices, sonething not so usual in Davos..... Excellent choice!

They scammed me for 20 franks. In general the portions are to small for the price they charge.

The food was good! Unfortunately, the operation was quite inflexible. We really, really wanted to have breakfast outside in the sun, but that was probably too much of a hassle for the staff and they refused us. They then set up the patio 10 minutes after we ordered, which was very disappointing. We'll go somewhere else next time :-)

Food check almost an hour to get and some of them were just having soup and salad made us late for our tour bus and getting the guy to bring the check was like pulling teeth

Nice location and very comfortably furnished. The service was friendly, but sometimes overwhelmed with what was ordered at which table. The wine was never refilled. By 8 p.m. there was no more pizza dough. Our alternative meal, which we were forced to order, was very tasty and beautifully presented. But we were really looking forward to pizza.

Delicious restaurant/café in Davos, we went there twice during our visit. Be sure to try the hot chocolate, a classic. Älpler Maggrone were good, nice staff, toilets clean. Recommended.

Very nice tearoom with very good cakes, great cappuccino and wonderful "heiße schocki". Waiter could pay a little more attention, especially when some guests arrive a little later than others.

Very long waiting times of half an hour for a salad. The food came after almost an hour. Luckily the food was good.

The breakfast menu offers a number of delicacies. We really liked the rustic but elegant atmosphere. Unfortunately, there are deductions for details that we missed, such as spices or sugar for drinks or dishes. We were also missing placemats and additional plates. The food was freshly prepared and tasted very good.

I ordered Burger with French fries, my husband ordered Pizza Salami. Both were delicious. The Burger was made with Davoser cheese which is really good. The waiter who served us was very accomodating and competent. A must try restaurant!

The waiter (Martin) who served us was very friendly and accommodating. We ate a truffle slice from the Traiteur, which was very good. The prices for the drinks were at the upper limit. A portion of tea and a Jagertee 17.10 CHF

Pizza wasn't that great, unfortunately.

The classic in Davos with top quality. You have to have been here. Primarily as a café with cakes, of course, but also as a restaurant for lunch and dinner, a great quality offering. The quality of everything is absolutely flawless. The service is also fine. The ambience is perhaps the one weak point, you could get a lot more style here, but it's absolutely OK and everything is clean and well maintained and relatively new.

Prices like in the Maldives! Food was really not good, the fondue was very bad. The bread rancid. Stomach cramps included. Staff friendly, but rather incapable of solving problems. Communication in German was hardly possible.

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be. Fondue was bad, cheese separated from the fat, too runny, price was too expensive at 29.- per person for what you get.

Unfortunately not good at all. Waiting times too long, food ok but expensive, staff nice but rather uninterested.

. We waited over half an hour for someone to take the order. The waitress from the table next door didn't want to because she wasn't responsible. Then we waited another 30 minutes. The food was served incorrectly and wasn't great either. When we paid and didn't give a tip, there wasn't even a thank you or a goodbye. We won't be coming back. Too bad

We enjoyed a delicious lunch. Unfortunately the kitchen was a bit overwhelmed. None of the dishes came together at any table. All guests had to eat staggered. The Älplermagronen were very good. Unfortunately the salad was prepackaged. We'll still come back. The service was very friendly and helpful.

Really extremely bad food. I don't understand how something simple like minced croissants can be so bad. The table neighbors were with theirs Burger not happy either. In addition, it smelled on the terrace from the heaters. Never again.

Top service. The food was delicious and served within 10 minutes of ordering! Lovely again ;)

Scandalous. Cordon Bleu disastrous, salad disastrous. Cordon Bleu+French fries were served in 5 minutes. Not fully breaded, meat drier than the Sahara (warmed up, impossible to prepare fresh in 5 minutes). Oversalt vegetables. Salad dressing ready-made sauce. Salad from the pack, not fresh. Inedible. For this frass they charge 39 Fr Corden Bleu, 12 Fr leaf lettuce? The worst is yet to come. The waiter responds to criticism with understanding. The boss, however, sees it differently. Insult us as scumbags and we should disappear. "The food was catastrophic", what a few truthful words can make a difference! The boss became violent in front of the guests. Embarrassing for him. Criticism is not for everyone! No insight, tragic. (1 star for the waiter, otherwise it would be 0! By far the best in this shop). The reviews of the last few days speak for themselves. I feel sorry for anyone who thinks this food is good, they have never eaten well in their life.

Bad service. Bad value for money. 2-class society. Different menus depending on the appearance of the guests. No understanding of questions/complaints. Not recommendable.

During the Spengler Cup in Davos there was a special simplified map. When I asked whether more vegetables could be served on a menu, I was told that this was not possible due to the cup (even though the restaurant had almost no guests left). However, while we were waiting, the full menu was served at a neighboring table. When I asked why this was the case, I was told that the card had changed. We thought it was a shame that we weren't told that the menu would be changing soon because we would have liked to eat something regional. Unfortunately, the response to this feedback was unpleasant and without understanding. Unfortunately, the food wasn't particularly good and overpriced.

Waiter tells us that today there is only the Spengler Cup menu. Prices way too high and food below average. 15 minutes later I changed to the evening menu without any understandable reason. Food doesn't come at the same time. When the pizza comes cold. Not recommended. After talking to the boss, no insight into the criticism expressed (evening menu, pizza). It's better not to eat there. You can save yourself money.

If you wish to be badly treated and not respected go to this poor service place. Honestly zero respect to people coming from abroad. Martin the “waiter” showed us how uncultured, uncultivated and narrow minded a person could be. His language and the way of the “service” he provided almost makes you stand up and leave. Speaking in Swiss German in front of us and mocking us was really too much. He should be fired!
