Schoenau Wohlen in Wohlen (AG)

The Schönau for the 4th! Even if it gets boring, we were once again served well in Schönau today and received fine deliveries from the kitchen and cellar. The service in this cozy restaurant, which is decorated with birch trunks and a wonderful wallpaper, was once again top and there are no grounds for any complaints, on the contrary. The kitchen deserves special praise. The two GordonBleu and the Wienerschnitzel we ordered were, as usual, very good. So good that we have already made another table reservation. In Schönau you simply eat very well and you receive competent, friendly and courteous service. Gladly again and again.

Cordonbleu fantastically prepared. Fresh, crispy and simply delicious. Huge compliment to the service and chef.

We visited the restaurant with a few colleagues for the Cordon Bleus. And we were not disappointed. A great selection of Cordon Bleus! I then "eated" my way through 3 different cordon bleus (veal & pork)... it was like biscuits: once you start, you can't stop! :D In addition to the food, the service was also friendly and amusing (and also amused when we were hungry :-D). All in all, we would love to come back again!

Nice, clean hotel. Breakfast selection was excellent. Were completely satisfied!

Sehr nette Bedienung, perfekt für Cordon Bleu Liebhaber! Bester Salat weit und breit! Karte und Küche 100 Punkte! Bin begeistert! Da wird mit Liebe gekocht!

Personnel accueillant. La spécialité est le cordon bleu, il y en a de toutes sortes, ils sont excellents et bien garnis mais trop cher, comptez 35 CHF (porc) ou 42 CHF (veau), les desserts sont abordables. Chambres confortables mais trop bruyantes coté route, impossible de dormir la fenêtre ouverte le jour de grande chaleur. Petit déjeuner correct.

Eine riesen Auswahl an Cordon bleu. Saftig und würzig. Jedes einzelne wird in der Küche nach Bestellung vorbereitet. Sehr feine und selten so gute Pommes gegessen. Ist wirklich sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir mussten 2 Stunden auf unsere Essen warten, dies mit zwei kleinen Kindern. Die Antwort des Inhabers, ihr kamt 20 Minuten später als reserviert worden war. Sehr kundenfreundlich. Die Bedienung war jedoch das pure Gegenteil von dem Inhaber, sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sie haben sich für das Warten mehrmals entschuldigt. Es war ihnen sehr unangenehm. Dem Inhaber fehlte jeglicher Anstand, keine Entschuldigung nichts.

Günstiges, vom Inhaber geführtes Hotel mit Restaurant. Die Qualität der Speisen ist durchschnittlich, nahrhaft aber nichts Spezielles. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist kühl und ungemütlich; so wie früher im Bahnofbuffet.

I would never stay in this hotel again. It was selected for me at very short notice by our travel desk. The restaurant attached to it is OK.I would expect much better for this high price. Travelers might like to note that the hotel is closed (and therefore you cannot check in) between 2 and 5 pm. At least half the rooms are on a very busy road that has traffic throughout the night. I was put in one of these, despite specifically stating on the reservation that I needed a quiet room away from any busy roads. There is no air-conditioning, and it was a hot night, so I had to open the only window, which faces this busy road. I had almost no sleep. Other issues include the fact no shampoo is provided (see photo for what is provided), the towels are very thin and small, the pillows are very large and bulky - I found them unusable. There is also no full length mirror. My bedside lamp was not plugged in and my toilet seat was half broken.The hotel also suffers from a common issue in the Germanic countries, which is that you have a choice between either a very thick winter duvet or ‘nothing’ as your cover while sleeping, even in the middle of a hot summer.

Die Karte in der Schönau ist recht klein und überschaubar. Das lässt schon darauf schliessen, dass hier frisch gekocht wird.Genau so war es denn auch:Selbst gemachte Salatsauce zum schön angerichteten Kopfsalat, frisch und von Hand geschnetzelte Leber mit einer sehr guten Rösti und einem lecker gefüllten Cordon-Bleu.Das Essen war sehr gut und frisch zubereitet. Alles in allem eine ehrliche Küche, wie man es sich im Restaurant wünscht und leider immer weniger findet.Wir kommen wieder und freuen uns jetzt schon darauf.

Ich war hier während einer Geschäftsreise. Sehr freundliche Besitzer und schöne Zimmer. Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt. Kkkkkkkkk

We came for a dinner and found this large restaurant which also has a hotel and outside seating. Barely anybody was there so we had free choice in this classical Swiss place. Service was friendly and food came quickly. Big portions were great, some of the vegetables were obviously from pre-packed convenience food. Unfortunately all food was quite salty, too salty for our taste.
