Always a good place to have a drink and something to eat after a leisurely walk around the Katzensee or, depending on the route you choose. Most of it is homemade or locally produced. My favorite is the homemade ice cream.

Drinks were very overpriced, there were hardly any animals there

We love coming here on Sundays by bike with our toddler in the bike trailer! Plenty of easy bike parking and car parking. Love seeing the goats, cows and playing on all the plentiful playground equipment - toys, swing, house, and bobby cars. The little vine-covered pergola is dreamy. Lovely coffee, ice coffee, cakes, and light foods like bratwurst or cheese plates. Only missing some healthy and vegetarian foods like salads, fitness-teller or non-meat based savory foods. Whole place is relaxing and fun for all ages.

Very nice restaurant with a great garden and hearty plates (the stars for that). Unfortunately the service is underground and extremely unfriendly. We felt unwelcome and even “bad” that we asked if we could have the Wienerli with bread to take away. This has little to do with hospitality. It's a shame, otherwise we would have liked to come here more often.

very busy. It's nice that you're doing something. But it doesn't go well with the fact that they let a farm dog of the most aggressive variety run around freely. That's not up to date. No farm here has to have an Appenzeller, there are so many great dog breeds that a farm has to have an Appenzeller, it's a thing of the past. It looks a bit sad on weekends when everything is so full of parking. I really have nothing against cars, but isn't a visit to a broom bar a walk? Do cars have to park directly in front of the yard? Farm romance looks different

The August 1st brunch was excellent, varied and yet familiar. With an egg station, bacon rosti, meatloaf, a large selection of cheeses and cold cuts, and house confit, as well as a fantastic dessert buffet. We were just a little disappointed when we saw the tractor bouncy castle - as we were unfortunately too old. The atmosphere was extremely cozy - a small oasis in Zurich.

Good location for parties. Unfortunately right on a busy main road. Organized the meal ourselves, so no review.

A small farm with outdoor playground. It's a great option to go with the kids on Sundays and holidays when most of other businesses are closed.

Very nice farmer house, which you can order coffee with home made cakes. Only Sunday they open and please sit out with nice view of the lake!!! The price is very reasonable :)

It's a very pretty place with a view of the Katzensee (cat lake!!!).

You can book the Beizli for family events. Very cozy for getting together in the summer, in the great outdoors, great views. We had a great barbecue party undisturbed, everyone had fun!!!!

Enjoy a drink and a snack on Sunday within walking distance of Zurich. Yet it feels like you are on a farm in rural Switzerland. Delicious and not too expensive.

Was invited to a private event. If you like something rustic, this one has it Everything locally to put together a successful celebration. Children also have a small playground and a few free-roaming chickens also provide some variety. Sufficient parking options available.

The Besenbeiz is located in the middle of a beautiful landscape. Family business with farm shop. The range of drinks and food is extensive and inexpensive. E.g. cheese and meat platters for 1 person = 11chf. 1dl wine = 3 chf. Grill your own Bratwurst/Cervelat 3 or 3.50 CHF. Child friendly.

This one's a bit off the beaten track. It's the Sunday hangout for all bikers and hikers strolling the nearby protected reserve. Great for local (in this case means mostly products from the farm itself) food and a place to rest. Super atmosphere - one a bunch of people started "jodling" as they went for their second beer. You won't find this one on Lonely Planet!!! but it sure deserves a spot there.
