Lovely food and friendly service at this upmarket restaurant. Varied wine list with focus on local and Italian wines. Great views over the lake. Will definitely come back.

I cannot recommend the restaurant. Value for money is absolutely not right, overpriced. Bad atmosphere, loud staff

Brilliantly located with a view of the Ascona promenade from almost every seat. The finest fine food with up to 7 courses can be ordered from the menu. Wine accompaniment well thought out. In the evening, Ivo Adam personally said goodbye to us at the table, including a debriefing of the chosen menu. :)

Excellent restaurant, very well looked after and very attentive waiters. Sophisticated food but at an acceptable price, the place is gorgeous and especially in summer the terrace is spectacular. The new manager is also very good at giving wine recommendations. The cellar is something impressive with more than 400 different bottles to choose from. Great place for an intimate or family dinner.

Very friendly staff, beautiful location and fresh food. The waiter was able to memorize five people's orders without taking notes and even special requests worked out perfectly. We will be back :-)

Actually 10 stars + Seven Grill & Dine on Via Moscia is a MUST for anyone who likes top cuisine and good wines. Plus the sensational view from the outside terrace of the lake and the mountains. A visit is worth it. :-))

Unfortunately, we only have it within 1 hour of ordering! received the last breakfast ordered. The service was nice, but it's not possible to wait that long for breakfast. Unfortunately it was like that last year.

We ordered the surprise 6 course meal. We weren't even asked if we wanted wine, the service was totally overwhelmed and since we had to wait an average of over 40 minutes between courses, we even canceled the dessert at the end. A single disappointment.

It was an unforgettable experience, breathtaking view, I ate the 7-course experience menu with my partner and I was really surprised by the combinations made by the chef, we will definitely be back.

We have been guests at Seven several times since it opened in 2007. But what we experienced was really not okay and doesn't match expectations. the restaurant was practically empty. We ordered the surprise menu (6 courses). Unfortunately, not a single course scored 15 points according to our expectations. One aisle was even oversalted (that can happen) - which we returned and didn't receive any feedback on. The head of service always sent his employee ahead, who unfortunately didn't speak enough German and therefore couldn't explain the courses. Sometimes we didn't even know what exactly we were being served. The service by the chef de service or restaurant manager was cold and rather arrogant - he also preferred to sit with other people in the lounge corner instead of taking proper care of the few guests. I finally got frustrated paying so much money for this poor performance and food Dear Breuers, unfortunately that won't work with the first-class gourmet tip seven in Ascona

This restaurant is well located with nice decoration. The bread was fresh and delicious. However the portions are too small especially for those prices they were below expectations. This is not a gourmet or Michelin star place where one can enjoy small portions of a 6 meal course. So we did not expect the meals to be Our main course arrived 30min after our starters and the waiter was not kind when we asked the reason. My fish, pile perch was nice. Spagetthi was ordinary. Overall I think it is an overrated place with not friendly staff and not a good value for what it charges.

Not very accommodating to the forces of nature We sit comfortably in the garden restaurant by the lake and enjoy the aperitif before dinner. Gusts of wind come up and blow the guests' drinks off their tables. Flower pots, menu cards and seat cushions swirl through the air. We are invited into the restaurant. Replaced the drinks that had barely been touched. The surprise only came after dinner when I looked at the bill. All drinks are charged twice, even though we couldn't help the gusts of wind - and at least we consumed 80 Stutz. Swiss gastronomy is once again not showing its customer-friendly side. - A pity - We will definitely never come here again. That's for sure!!!

Finest food and friendly, competent service

If you want to enjoy bad service, don't want to be taken seriously by the staff, want to pay way too much, and want to leave hungry, this is the right place for you... There's nothing more to say.

We didn't feel welcome at all. The service employees made fun of our questions about the food. We felt like we were annoying them with our presence. The food was way too expensive for it's poor taste, honestly: It looked fancy but it tasted below average. Please don't get blinded by the nice interior.

We wanted to spend a nice evening with our friends in this restaurant. The menu is too complicated and although we had 3-4 waiters around us, we didn't get any food recommendations. We ordered 2 different courses as intermediate course and both tasted the same. The wine recommendations were terrible as well. The chef asked us how the food was, I honestly tried to explain to him that the portions were too small for the price charged, he explained to me how they calculate portions, they made no effort to compensate us and to top it off our vegan colleague was laughed at by the waiter. They didn't have any vegan food for her. In the end when we asked for the bill, we had to wait for half an hour to get the separate bills. As this is a luxury restaurant, we had higher expectations. The interior is very nice, but the food was not special.

The most traumatic luxury dinner experience for the last 5 years. Great located on the lake and very nice style inside. That's it. The service was very unfriendly, the vegetarian or vegan options are ridiculously simple and tasteless. The service was without any respect and made fun of our friend when she mention her allergies. The food was no sensation and far overrated and expensive (dry, taste not good, cucumber bitter, weird consistency...). Absolutely not recommend, waste of holidays time and money. Never again.

I forgot something in the toilet just before closing time. The next day no one saw, heard or anything. The object was worth over 500 CHF, just gone. ... No effort from the restaurant. Nothing. Very expensive here, but the customer doesn't care.

The last time I was there was years ago and I had a great meal and was extremely satisfied. I wanted to try it again this month and I have to say it was extremely worth it! The food was above average, the ambience and service were very pleasant and warm, we really enjoyed eating here again.

Oktoberfest, no go, rather offer Ticino cuisine. We were so disappointed and were looking forward to this evening. Nothing was edible, neither the white sausages (bland), grilled chicken, was boiled rather than grilled and unseasoned. The screamer was the Kaiserschmarren, an indefinable something. Brätzels were sticky. Oktoberfest is no longer offered unless you hire a chef from Bavaria!

Mega cool location, always has been... But we prepared a very nice and fine vegan menu upon request. I hope that this will also be the case on the menu soon.

Great ambience, amazing view. The Chef is a culinary Master and knows exactly how to make all your 2000+ tastebuds explode on a journey throughout his plates. Very friendly and professional staff. Bare in mind this haute cuisine, so do not expect fish and chips. On the contrary to the Seven in Lugano, this is more like a family and less commercial.

We wanted to have a nice evening and decided to eat here. We were the only ones there at 6 p.m. At first we thought that we should have gone to one of the other restaurants but WRONG THINKING: we are so happy and completely surprised by what we got. Asian modern cuisine that tastes excellent. Sushi fresh and delicious. The main course was duck with vegetables, look at the pictures, it was beautifully prepared and tasted very tasty. For dessert there was matcha tiramisu, which was very tasty and light. Price performance was right!!!! We will be back

The place is very well looked after and clean. The service is absolutely perfect, they are very kind and professional. The cuisine is certainly of a good standard, although I cannot say that it is at the same level as the service and the venue. Approximately 140g of Wagyu (of which 70g of shoulder and 70g of entrecôte), without including a real side dish is a shame). Requested medium cooking for the entrecôte, which arrived rare, which is certainly fine for the type of meat, but if you ask me the type of cooking desired I would like this to be done The prices are undoubtedly high, but justified by the professionalism of the collaborators and the environment of the place which is of a medium-high standing. The sorbets are homemade and are very good, it would be a plus if these were made with fresh fruit, for example the pineapple sorbet was excellent, but it is made with a juice and not with fresh pineapple. Overall I can say that I left absolutely satisfied with the care of the place and the service. The cuisine does not fully meet expectations, but everything was still very good. We had 3 courses, but we didn't leave full (true that this can be subjective 🙂). However, we would like more places of this type in Ticino, congratulations for the great professionalism.

Friendly service. Excellent location with views over the lake. The wine came too late. Food was okay, unfortunately not really hot. We had the same dish twice, one of which was missing the decor/wasn't prepared the same way, which was probably not intentional. Price performance is pretty weak.

Food very good (5☆), but value for money (4☆) and service (3☆). When it comes to service, it's the organization. Very slowly and you almost laugh at the organization or feel sorry for yourself. The story: You get the seat and are asked for water. It feels like 10 minutes later that the water and the menu arrive. After what feels like 10 minutes, a greeting comes from the kitchen. 10 minutes later we take the order and ask about wine. Again 10 minutes later we got the wine list and ordered another 10 minutes later, 10 minutes later the wine arrived. Just feels like it's been taking way too long. Cards could be brought at the same time as, for example, the water. The spectacle was almost pitiful with the small folding tables. Always standing at the wrong table, or the waiter came with the tablet but there was no table. Also when clearing up, put it down in the folding table once, another time for the tablet, which is then so small that the table for two cannot be cleared away in one go. Enough drama told. Food is very very good!!!!! The portions are at the lower limit, which is why there is a ☆ deduction in the price/performance ratio. Last word on the service: Very friendly, really, despite being disorganized, still a good explanation about the food or wine. It's not because of the friendliness!

Chef Leanza's proposals are refined and very tasty. From starters to desserts, the level of cuisine is always very high, not to mention the quality of the products. With the Leanza experience every dish is an explosion of flavors and aromas. The staff proved helpful and friendly throughout the dinner. The lake view on one side and the work of the chefs on the other are enchanting thanks to the open kitchen. An experience appreciated and shared by all those at the table. Highly recommended!!

During a dinner with friends, fascinated by the lake view, we chose chef Nicola Leanza's menu "Leanza experience" which I highly recommend. The menu offers dishes with a unique flavor with the highest quality raw materials creatively reinterpreted and frequently updated by chef Nicola Leanza. An explosion of flavors starting from the appetizers, first courses, second courses and desserts. Favorite dish: “asparagus yolk and cereal bread” with a Bavarian cream of white asparagus, yolk marinated in clarified butter, thyme and five-grain bread. Pampered by the impeccable service and the luxurious location we spent a pleasant evening in excellent company. We will definitely be back! Absolutely recommended

A wonderful experience that I would also recommend for the location overlooking the lake which I found enchanting.

I was at the Hotel Seven at the same time and after dinner at the Rest. ASIA I drank a good glass of red wine in peace and quiet and in a very cozy atmosphere. A host who knows his craft - very committed, friendly, cheerful and tries hard to do everything for his guests. The food is very wholesome, light and prepared with love (including attention to detail). The food and wine list leaves nothing to be desired and the urban ambience is as perfect as everything at Seven Ascona!

We spent a wonderful evening at the Seven restaurant in Ascona. Chef Nicola was able to amaze us with a delicious tasting menu based on fish, highly imaginative dishes and a lot of aesthetics. The waitress Daniele is a great connoisseur and served us extremely well and with great professionalism. The waiters are very kind, professional and prepared. Stunning lake view location!

Everything is excellent, the staff, the dishes and the desserts! The plates are very large, so you may have the impression of being underserved, but the quantity is more than adequate

When we arrived and the chef de service (Kevin or Ken?) couldn't understand us in Italian, he said annoyed, do you want an aperitif or not, in response to my "per mangiare". We were then allowed to examine the menu and enjoy some delicious pasta. At the end, the approximately 10 chefs lined up at the window of the kitchen to examine my company. With ingredients like these, even the best cuisine loses its flavor. The hero of the evening was the 50-year-old gentleman in service who was warm and friendly. The world needs such people in a world where 40 grams of pasta costs 40 CHF.

Superb restaurant, high quality food and service with a spectacular view. If you would like to spend a very nice evening in Ascona, this is the place to be. Just one thing, maybe - please make this a non smoking place. We were sitting outside and surrounded by smokers - so annoying when you're having spectacular food and wine.

We came with three children. The children's menu is a joke. There is no need for a children's menu for edamame, curry and Japanese chicken. If you don't want one, just say so in advance. Edamame were good, fish and sushi were good, a roll with tempura was very carelessly prepared. It's a shame that we waited 1.5 hours for the food, there were no children's chairs and we got wet. We could have been canceled straight away. I am very disappointed. We still cooked at home because the portions are extremely small. Our meal cost over CHF 200. Just too much for two adults and two small children plus a 12 year old.

Terrific! Just perfect! We chose the surprise menu. Since I am pregnant, we informed the waitress Davide that I should avoid certain foods. He informed the kitchen and then offered me other options. The food was of very high quality and prepared with great attention to detail. The service is very professional! The incredibly friendly and accommodating manner makes you feel completely comfortable and you go home happy. Many thanks again to Davide! He took great care of us, including our little dog, and we would love to come back!

The concept could be better in the current situation. Not all places have heaters, the menu is quite small and the breaded veal cutlet was the only thing that fascinated me. Quality and service is great. In terms of price...well...if everything was perfect we would also agree to the price.

Last evening i had a wonderful experience at ristorante seven. Decided to try the Leanza experience menu and was surprised by the combinations proposed by the chef. Well worth it, definitely recommend 5 star location, professional and kind staff Definitely will be back soon

We spent a few days in Ascona for a quick get away and took advantage of the many Seven restaurants and bars. We were very pleased with the easy and Asia restaurants, but sadly were disappointed with the seven fine dining experience. We chose the surprise menu which is about 150.- without beverages. We were disappointed to receive two very simple pasta dishes. The main meat dish was very odd and served with tongue. The fish dish was slightly over cooked and the desert very strange. The service however was exceptional. The main waiter is absolutely wonderful!

Sorry, dass ich im "Eifer des Gefechts" nur die Sterne und keinen schriftlichen Kommentar abgegeben habe. Das "SEVEN" ist immer wieder eines der sehr, sehr positiven Erlebnisse am Lago Maggiore. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend, alles wird erklärt, die Bedienung ist immer zur Stelle aber nie aufdringlich oder fordernd und etwaige Fragen werden immer beantwortet. Auf "DAS SEVEN" können wir uns immer verlassen, wenn wir einen perfekten haben oder einläuten wollen. Chapeau - perfekt.

Netter Service. Spargelsuppe war kalt. Musste das so sein? Ansonsten war das Essen gut. Eher hohe Preise.

Una domenica primaverile ci siamo concessi un aperitivo al seven in riva al lago. Location davvero suggestiva. Il personale è stato gentile. Abbiamo ordinato 4 Hugo di cui 2 analcolici. Trovo assurdo che si debba pagare sia quelli alcolici che non allo stesso prezzo di 10 chf e oltretutto non vengano date due patatine o due arachidi!!!! Come sempre il servizio ticinese sulla ristorazione pecca un po'... 2 patatine non si va in fallimento! Peccato per il servizio!!!
