Were there the first time, can only recommend it, I have rarely eaten such a great goulash, my husband ate baked champion, small portion, were extremely good. Will definitely come back. And finally a Baileys on the house which was very kind.

Typical Austrian cuisine (lots and very tasty) The soups are exceptional, the schnitzels are large and fluffy (even the size of a mouse is hard to manage) and the service is quick and attentive. It is advisable to book a table so that you don't have to wait or stand. We will definitely come back and can recommend it without reservation. Thanks from Carsten and Sabine

If you spontaneously want to eat something here without making an appointment, it may well happen that there is no space left. Your own fault! They are no longer an insider tip. And logical! Plentiful and very good portions, hospitable, very warm staff, somehow familiar and refreshingly honest, no-nonsense... You just have to like them! Here you are not a consumer, but a welcome guest.

The food was very good and the portions were very large, everything was freshly prepared, friendly, attentive service. Therefore, highly recommended. The furnishings are getting old and are quite staid and old-fashioned. A little more modern and cozy atmosphere would be great and the furnishings now have nothing to do with "homey". Just old-fashioned and that's a shame.

Very good, finally a restaurant again where no four-legged friends hide under the table, then get up, shake the fleas out of their fur, all to the annoyance of the other guests who are eating. Many thanks to the innkeepers for their courage, “Dogs waiting outside” keep it up.

Food was, as always, very tasty. Knobli schnitzel (donkey ear) with Röstitaler cheese and a mixed salad and a very good mushroom cream sauce. We always enjoy coming here to eat. However, you should reserve in advance on the weekends because there is always a lot going on. Waiting times are moderate in terms of table occupancy and the service staff and waitress are always friendly and attentive. I have to deduct a star for the ambience because they are very narrow rooms with low ceilings and when the room is fully occupied and there are a certain number of younger people, the noise level quickly reaches a level that can become unpleasant. However, this is not important considering the friendly service and the delicious food. Gladly and again and again.

I've been eating here irregularly for a few years now. The food is simply absolutely delicious. Not only are the schnitzels great, the side dishes such as salads and fries are also perfect. Even the little pity at the end is always very nice ;). Service is quick and very friendly. Space is somewhat limited in winter, so it's best to reserve. For me, “cash only” isn’t a disadvantage, it’s just a good idea to have some money with you when you go out to eat somewhere. I can fully recommend this family business!

The medium-sized spicy cordon bleu was excellent 😍🌶️ Just like the cheese spaetzle without the onions. I can also only rave about the apple strudel 😍 Really excellent! The staff was friendly, accommodating and attentive^^ There was someone eating on the terrace who had a dog with him 🐶

We have known the Spissegg restaurant for years. We are always very satisfied with the restaurant. We celebrated a birthday there this year and our wishes were always taken into account. It is and remains one of my favorite restaurants in all of St.Gallen. Excellent value for money. Not fancy but still very friendly and courteous service. If I could give an additional 6 stars, it would be because you only pay in cash there. We are very happy to be able to be guests of the Brändle family again soon.

I've been coming here to eat for many years (approx. 5 times a year) and every time it's a pure pleasure to eat the Wiener Schnitzel or the fine Cordon Bleu here. The staff is always friendly and goes out of their way to help customers. The only point of criticism: only cash payment

Simple, nice restaurant with a garden terrace. Kitchen is rather down-to-earth, specialties include schnitzel, cordon bleu and the like. The kitchen still has room for improvement, especially when it comes to fresh products. Enough parking spaces available.
